Literally the WORST! We had a plumber come out to our business for a backed up toilet. The man who showed up was very rude and was not timely at all. Not only did he not fix the issue, he charged us over 800$ to replace a valve on the toilet that we didn't need and then just left the toilet he had removed from the ground to the side useless, he didn't even put the freaking toilet back! We had a plumber come out today who not only fixed the issue in no time, but also only charged us 300$. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

First, they missed our first TWO appointments. Then, I was charged $389 for a $30 part and 20 minutes of service. Unreal.

Their intention is greed. Their practice is overcharging. They charged me $1800 for a $100 job. Stay away.

AVOID CACTUS PLUMBING! Our downstairs A/C unit started to make a buzzing sound when it was turning on. It was a SATURDAY! A record hot weekend was predicted. I called an outfit named Cactus Plumbing. BIG MISTAKE! BIG EXPENSIVE MISTAKE! They asked on the phone is a $20 service call fee was "OK". I said yes. They said they would have someone at the house on Sunday. Their tech showed up and discovered a "Capacitor" was bad. He "had on in the truck" so I agreed he should replace it. When he showed us our old Capacitor and compared it to the new one, he pointed out that the new capacitor was "dented" on the top rim but he did not have another one. The house was now up to 88 degrees. He put in the new - damaged - capacitor and the A/C unit kicked on. YEA!!! He was here for about 1 hour total. Then he presented me with his phone so I could electronically sign for the repairs and new - damaged - capacitor. Without any hesitation he said I was signing for a $420 bill!!! I had NO idea what a capacitor costs and I was aware of the $20 service call fee - which he never mentioned. I was alos aware it was a Sunday service call. Based on that I signed it and just told him I thought that was rather high. He said I would receive a DETAILED invoice from his office via my email. "TOTAL $420." I emailed back and requested a DETAILED invoice for both parts and labor. NO REPLY. I emailed again. NO REPLY. I called an left a voicemail. NO CALL BACK. Finally, I got another invoice. NO BREAKDOWN on parts and labor, just a total. In the meantime, I did some research on the cost of a capacitor for my A/C unit. They run about $20!!! SO, $400 of the invoice was for about 1 hour of labor. I responded to their email and got this... "Thank you for reaching out, In regards to your inquiries of job cost, our technicians are not based on an hourly rate. I can assure you that our technicians are experienced professionals who strive to complete the needed repairs efficiently, and at a competitive rate. I know unexpected repairs can seem overwhelming, I'd be happy to have our technician go over the invoice in more detail with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any further questions regarding your invoice. Sincerely, Cristal Cates" I sent an email back stating... "Please have your technician explain in writing to me how he justifies over $400 in labor costs for less than an hour of his time on the job. While he is writing please have him include why he installed a damaged - it was bent - part in my A/C unit." NO REPLY. read more

Unfortunately, this seems to be an incompetent business. I scheduled an appointment, the service tech did not show up. I called 2 times and both times was told I would receive a call back. I never did. The service tech did leave me a message, but it didn't mention our appointment, it only talked about specials they are running. So I didn't call back, as it seemed like a sales call. I had a problem with my A/C condensing unit not shutting off after thermostat is no longer calling for cooling. Cactus sent their technician Trevor out who arrived on time, he was friendly, very knowledgeable & I felt comfortable that I had called right company. Trevor, after asking a few questions he got to work & diagnosed the problem quickly. The problem was the contactor was causing the problem. He replaced the contactor & it was up running correctly again. I was very impressed with Cactus Plumbing & Air would highly recommend their service to friends & Family. read more

He charged $389 for a $40 thermostat. Then $400 in labor. We were out of town and when we got back the AC wasn't working. We called another company out who said it was nothing to do with the thermostat and got it fixed for another $800. This company doesn't stand behind their work. Although Justin and Roger went above and beyond to get a new air conditioner installed for my. Sara and Joey were incapable of providing the simple request of mailing out the documentation on the purchased unit. Instead, Joey lied about mailing it for a month. Then, Sarah called to say they wouldn't be mailing anything because they don't have any documentation on the units they sell. Not only was she rude but condescending. Terrible service. They agreed to an appointment between 4-6 on Friday PM. We cancelled our plans to accommodate this as they were willing to fit us in on short notice and we wanted our AC looked at sooner rather than later. They first tried to come an hour earlier than schedule, which was not agreed upon as we weren't home. The tech- Frank- then never showed up. They did not try to call or notify us. We then got a call Saturday afternoon saying they could be there between 20-30 minutes. The tech I spoke to, who I believe was Frank, lied to me saying he called yesterday because he couldn't make it but couldn't get a hold of me. I had NO missed calls or messages from them the evening prior. But I agreed to have him come over in the 20-30 minutes and had to re-describe the problem to him on the phone. He said he would be there soon and we ended the call. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. We waited an HOUR AND A HALF and again postponed what we had planned on doing while waiting for him. I don't know if I've ever dealt with a more inconsiderate company. Hire people who will actually show up to their jobs. This isn't rocket science. I called Cactus and scheduled a "free" service call to to check on a recirculating pump issue. The service tech got under the sink for a brief time and said part in question was installed properly but adding another under the kitchen sink would fix the issue. He was charming and offered me a senior discount of 10%, but the estimate said 5%. I agreed to his price of close to $400. After he left I did some research and the manufacturer suggested several tests when my issue arose. They were not performed. The part was about $70. I was told they did not bill hourly, but by the job. I cancelled the install appointment. I then checked reviews and was glad I had cancelled. read more

Cactus Plumbing and Air charged me for work done by a different company name (which itself was done by an independent plumber under referred through them), when questioned said "they are in the process of changing names". Seems a deliberate approach to avoiding accountability for issues or complaints. Asked for a follow-up from a manager on my concerns and never heard from them. Very high pricing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I received a quote today from Cactus Air for installing a 30 foot gas line for $5897 while other companies are quoting $1500-$2000. Although costs always vary their estimate is beyond defense and obviously seeks to take advantage of customers without construction knowledge (I have 20+ years of financial management experience at several national homebuilders and real estate developers and have a better than average understanding of the work involved in the gas line). read more
