If you're looking for a great bike shop, keep going, this is not the place. I recently purchased a vintage TREK Y-22 mountain bike, and I brought it in to be serviced / brought up to speed as it was missing a few things. The technician who took it in was nice enough, and when I explained that I wanted their top level service ($179) but realized I would need to add some things, I requested they keep it as close to $200 as feasible. I was promised the bike back on Tuesday (This was a Friday) and when the following Thursday had rolled around, I called to see what the status was... I was told it would be the NEXT Tuesday, he had mis-spoke. I wanted to ride the bike over the weekend of the 4th of July, but that wasn't going to happen. They claim they are backed up in service by about 2 weeks. So the following Tuesday, when I call, they hadn't even started on it yet. They also wanted clarification on what I wanted to spend, and in the estimate I was given at intake, they hadn't accounted for a new chain (it was missing one quite obviously) and one side of the front brake pulls. So now we're well over two weeks in, and nothing had been done, and I'm being told it's going to cost way more than I was quoted. I told them to just forget about it, I'd come pick up the bike and take it somewhere else. To top this off, I picked up the bike on Monday, I get a call from them the next day (yesterday) asking me to come pick up my bike as they have limited room in their shop. I had to laugh... total incompetence. And I got the same impression as one of the other reviewers below: If you're a total bicycle guy, you get fast, attentive service. If you're just a regular guy like me, who was clearly trying to get enthused about riding a bike at 52 years of age, you're treated like "Eh we'll get around to it when we feel like it." read more

Best bike shop around! I love the fact that all the employees have race experience. It's a great community of riders with tons of events and support especially from the owners. I ride mtn bike but if I wanted to jump in on a road ride I know when and where they'll be meeting. read more

Knoweldgeable and fun staff. Highly recommend for your bike needs, they have a good selection of mountain bikes too.

We have bought a few bikes with them and have had varying experiences. If they have it in stock in that store, then you are pretty good to go. If it is anything else, it may take a bit. When you are in the store, they have good customer service. The follow up and through is a bit lacking. I am torn between 3 and 4 stars because we have had a few different interactions with them and we have spent a lot of money there. The large challenge is that they are close to home and have a good selection with reasonable prices. I think the key is finding something that is in stock in that store to have the best experience. read more

Best bike shop by far in the DFW area. Always has the components that I need and there is always an employee there to help me. When they service my bike it is always fast and thorough. They also have a great coffee shop that always hits the spot as well. read more

I have been in plenty of cycle shops in my life for service and sales. This place, by far has the best approach to transparency in service and ownership. What a friendly and comfortable environment. Was promised a price let the lady know i would need to come back once i had the cash. When i came back they had raised the price and would not honor what they sold a friend , I sent there, the bike for. I was told they called the other shop they price matched and set the prices so i couldn't get the deal my friend got even there. Being told that you should do business with local bike shops is a myth that is spread to keep margins high. Please do your own research before buying a bike from them and know what you should pay. read more

o my goodness... this place sux. first of all it took 7 days longer than they promised, just to have a chain replaced and then the guy couldnt find mt payment and had a crappy attitude. i guess if u are a lance armstrong rider you might get your butt kissed but a normal bike and a regular person.... u get whatever service they throw at u read more

This misadventure started in July 2017 when I made the mistake of buying a new Fondriest Pista from the McKinney store. The bike developed bottom bracket issues the first time I rode it at the track in Frisco. I rode it the next week and the bottom bracket got steadily worse so I took it back to the McKinney store and left it with the shop. A few days later I called to check on the bike and some kid told me the bottom bracket shell was cracked and wanted to know what I'd done to it. I said all I'd done is change the front chainring, which is common at the track. The kid, who had apparently never been to a track, said, "that's probably what did it". God help us!. Anyway, I talked to the manager, Greg, and he said they'd resolve the issue by getting it repaired. To make a long story short I got the supposedly repaired frame back SIX months later and first ride out the bottom bracket was knocking just like it had SIX months before. Took it back in and after receiving one excuse after another I was told the frame was being replaced by Fondriest and it would be a 2019, since I'd let them know I'm not happy about the former new frame having depreciated a full year while in their possession. SIX months later, in July 2018 I get the supposed new frame and fork. When I requested the paperwork on the bike the manager only says there is none. I received a used fork and the frame showed signs of being used. But wait, it gets worse. First ride out, same bottom bracket noise. I subsequently rode the bike another 10 miles or so hoping the BB might settle in but no such luck. Having at this point given up on Cadence, I took the bike to another local bike mechanic I could trust. After looking at the bike he said the bottom bracket, which had been installed at Cadence McKinney was not only in backward but had never been torqued and was only a few threads from backing out. Furthermore, the BB was keyed and having been installed backward, had it been torqued, could easily have cracked the shell. Gee, I wonder how the original frames BB shell got cracked? Anyway I'm out the cost of a new bike which I bought there in 2017. I have a frame with a serial number which suspiciously contains the sequence in big numbers "2012" and a shop manager and owner in at Cadence Cyclery McKinney who are apathetic at best. They helped us purchase some great gear for our bikes and some pretty cool shirts as well! I wished I lived closer so I could get all my bike needs taken care of here. The staff there made me feel at home and went beyond the call of duty to let me know what my bike options were, different spec setups and how they affected pricing, and really took the time to make sure my set up was perfect for me.
