I flew into Dallas with my bicycle to continue training for an upcoming race. After reassembling it, I needed some brake adjustments and stopped by Bike Mart Richardson near closing time. Despite the late hour, they welcomed me in and provided exceptional service. I came in expecting just a brake adjustment, but they went above and beyond--tuning my derailleurs better than they've ever been. The bike ran like new when they finished. They even took the time to recommend some great local training routes, which was incredibly helpful since I'm not from the area. The combination of their technical expertise, willingness to help at the end of their day, and genuine friendliness made this a memorable experience. 3 stars--because wow, that price increase! I got a flat on my new bike, and since the tire is bigger than my old one, I figured it might cost more. I used to pay around $24, and I've always come here without thinking twice--my husband introduced me to this place, so it was my go-to spot. Well... this was my last time here. To be clear--everyone is kind and super helpful. They always greet you with a smile, and if you have to wait, there are huge, comfy loveseats to relax in. Honestly, their service is fast. Last time, I walked in, got help immediately, and was done in less than 10 minutes. The tech even showed me exactly what punctured the tube before wrapping up. Less than 15 minutes, and I was out the door. So when he told me $34, I tried to justify it--maybe the tube itself costs more now? But when I got in my car and actually checked my receipt, the tube was only $1 more than my old one. What really cost more? $20 for installation. Wow. That's just too much, I'm sorry. Took 2 bikes in to Bike mart Richardson for a tune-up. 2 weeks later they called me and I approved repairs. They then called me and told me the bikes are ready. Went to pick them up. They wheeled out a bike with 2 flat tires and no repairs completed. Horrible overall parts and repair service and way overpriced. $20 to change a bike tire plus the cost of the tire. I dropped off a kids bike that is for my grand daughter there to make sure it is safe and in good condition. I expressly told them it was a gift for my grand child. I asked for it to be cleaned up and any repairs made as well. They put tires and training wheels on it. I picked it up and it was dirty but the worse part is the handle bars we loose. I bumped the front tire when loading it into my pickup and the front tire and the handle bars were pointing in different directions. There is no way the bike is ready for a child to ride. I have no problem paying for service and I did pay for it but I will never spend another penny here. This very disappointing. read more

I purchased a comfort style bike from Bike Mart prior to Christmas 2024. Normally I would've purchased from my local bike shop, but Bike Mart had the it in stock at the best price. The internet team was very attentive to this order. There was a small issue with FedEx, but when I called Bike Mart, Corbin and the internet team called their FedEx contact. The issue was resolved immediately. I was extremely grateful to have received the bike before Christmas even though I ordered pretty late in the season. The bike arrived in excellent shape. It was wrapped carefully making the assembly quite easy. I would certainly buy from this business again. read more

Don't use Bike Mart! We purchased two bikes from them, and they have been terrible to work with. My bike is in the shop for weeks at a time when it's not needed. They refuse to order parts in advance and make the bike sit in the shop while they wait. Most recently I purchased tubeless tires from them and scheduled their installation as well as a tune-up. After being there for a week, they told me my bike wouldn't support tubeless tires and returned it without doing any work at all. No tune up, nothing! I pointed out to the manager in the manual where it expressly says the bike does support tubeless tires, so they ordered new ones and tried again. I asked what pressure they recommended I use and they said 10 under max. After getting home and pumping them to 10 under max, the rear tire exploded. I was able to get it back together but then it leaked. Attempts to re-seal it failed. When I returned it to the shop, they said my rim was cracked down the center and wouldn't hold air. Well, it used to hold air until it blew up. Will they replace it? No? Warranty? No! They want $500 for a new rim! No apology and no care. The place makes too much money and lacks competition. I highly recommend going out of your way to help create competition because these guys don't care! read more

The website has a lot of useful information such as pricing for parts and services. I called early in the day to make an appointment to get my handlebars re-wrapped. No appointment was necessary, so I loaded up my bicycle, hopped into my car, and brought it the few miles up the road to a strip mall. Yes, I realize how ridiculous it is to drive one's bike to the store, but the handlebars were gushing sticky gel, and I didn't want to get it all over. Parking spaces were available directly in front of the store along with bike racks. The automatic door made it easy to enter with my hands busy directing the bike towards the service counter. There was a small wait, but I didn't mind because that means their technicians will take the time to answer your questions and get you the service you need. My technician pointed out several options to me for replacing my handlebar wrap. The existing handlebar tape looked okay, but it was degraded and the gel below the surface was melting and squishing through the tape making a sticky mess all over my bike gloves. The guy also suggested I replace the brake cables at the same time since it had been awhile and it was smart to do while the handlebar tape was off. I agreed to it. Not sure if it was really necessary or just an upsell, but it sounded logical and my bill would still be below $100. He said my bike would be ready in a week. Really? Darn! I was hoping it would be ready in a day or two so I could ride this week while I have time off. Upon hearing this, the technician was sympathetic to my plight and went to the back to see if he could get my bike in sooner. Surprisingly my bike was ready that same evening. I got a text 40 minutes before store closing. I also bought a phone mount. The gentleman who rang up my tab asked if I would like him to mount it for me. He did so at no additional charge. It was truly amazing customer service from start to finish. I would not hesitate to return to this location for any future bike repairs and service, and I would highly recommend them to others. read more

My fiancé had a triathlon event in another state. We came into the store weeks prior to the event and were told that they could disassemble the bike and help us ship it within two days. We came in a week before the event and were told they need more than 2 weeks to disassemble and ship a bike? What kind of ludicrous is that? The customer service here is subpar at best. Another time he was looking at new cycling shoes and the woman working in the area had no idea what she was doing and could not help or recommend anything. This is my first time in this store. I own 2 Schwinn hybrid bikes, 2 Schwinn Mountain bikes, 2 carbon fiber Felts Road bikes, 2 carbon fiber Specialized Mountain bikes. Now, it is time to upgrade again! So, we bought 2 road Specialized E Bikes. The plus of my E bikes is it is light. So, you can still ride around town without any assist on. Also, you could use 100% assist for about 30 miles. I also bought a couple new bike outfits, helmets, peddles, lights, water bottles, and an Kuat (6 bike rack). Thank you Bike Mart !!!!!! My 17 year old son was 25 miles away from home when he realized that his charger was not working and his battery was running very low. I didn't buy his bike from Bike Mart, but they were an authorized dealer of his bicycle brand. Since they didn't have a replacement charger available, they did allow him to leave his battery there to charge on the shop charger they had available. Because of their amazing customer service, I didn't have to drive 50 miles to pick him up and he was able to ride home on his own. Review Update: We've been back here several times over the past year for stuff and for maintenance. About 3 weeks ago, brought in my older hybrid bike for my son to take with him to Ann Arbor MI. Richardson Bike Mart had a great selection even during the current covid conditions that seen bikes flying (or rolling) off the shelves... Friendly service that wasn't too pushy meaning they allowed you to look around without being overbearing! Had all my questions answered and I left with a Giant Contend 3 that I've enjoyed owning and putting miles on... Recently had to take it in for its tune up and had some clipless pedals installed and once again great customer service going in and out... ASK FOR ERIN. So, I bought a bike from RBM at the beginning of March. I rode it...and I did not love it. RBM has a policy that accepts returns if you are within 30 days (they need to be authorized by the manager). There was nothing wrong with the bike, but it was not for me. I did like many things about the bike, so I opted to upgrade my Cannondale with some of those options. Honestly, I was not sure if the policy would be applied, just because it sounds too good to be true. Well, I was so wrong. I returned the bike today and was helped by Erin. She immediately got the manager over to inspect the bike and approve the return. He was a very nice person but I forgot his name (my apologies). There was no condemnation regarding the return or hassle. He even suggested some upgrade options with Erin but was not pushy at all! He was super cool about the return. As I explained what I wanted to upgrade on my bike, Erin was totally on it! She found the new tires, bar, and saddle that worked for me. And, RBM swapped everything out almost faster than imagined! Their service department is awesome- both in store and at all of the area rides. I also needed a new Garmin because my old one was not keeping a charge; however, I did not need the sensors or anything like that. They did not have the 500 series with just the Garmin in stock, so Erin was going to order it to be delivered to the store in a few days (which was perfectly fine). While I was waiting for the swaps to be made (which was not long at all on a busy Sunday), Erin approached me and explained that she was able to get the 500 series Garmin for me from a bundled box with no issue! Seriously?!?! I did not even ask for it and Erin went above and beyond with helping me. Erin helped with every choice, but she was not pushy at all. She gave me choices (appreciated), and explained the difference. Ultimately, it was my choice and she was never overbearing. (She even apologized for the wait time to make the changes, but it was totally unnecessary, as RBM is really quick). Cycling and bike shops can be a very lonely situation for women (especially when they are middle aged, kind of out of shape, have social anxiety, not competing, but just want to enjoy the ability to ride a bike). Erin, and everyone I have encountered at this Bike Mart location, takes care of women without making the situation uncomfortable or making females feel dumb. It is not that way at every bike shop, and I appreciate it when I encounter this level of service. I ended up getting a refund (even after so many awesome upgrades), and they were super cool about it. Needless to say, I will continue to return to this location and ask for Erin if I need help. I'd like to preface this poor review by stating that during my first experience, I was genuinely happy with the tune up they performed, and recommended it to a few people I'd met while exploring local trails. We decided to come here, after trying a shop across town that was suppose to be a supplier of my bike brand, but couldn't help me. Everyone here is friendly, and in no way am I displeased with anyone other than the technician that tried to help me. truthfully, he did his best to help in the situation, but handled my interaction poorly. When the tech greeted me, and I told him the brand of my e-bike, he stopped me and told me that there was likely nothing he could do, because the store doesn't carry the parts for the brand. I totally understood, but explained that I thought it was a wiring issue, that I while I was confident I had done what I could, that I was novice at best in terms of technical work, and would prefer if a professional looked over it. He grabbed for the wires, telling me one looked off, and after going through them, told me I had a bent pin. While I was grateful to have found the problem, he told me that it was bent pretty well in there. He bent my pin back with a pocket knife, and simultaneously was trying to widen the other side to see if they'd connect. He proceeded to use pliers, and a dental tool to try and bend the pin back in place, giving me minimal information as to what was happening. After a few minutes of struggling, he just said, and there it goes..... and just silenced himself. He tried to tell me I could get a tech wiz to solder it. The pin was so incredibly small, that a solder would make it where the pin couldn't fit in the connector. (I took it to a hobby shop to try and have them do what he said) Understandably, I'm upset that he broke the pin on my bike, but as I'm leaving, he said let me know if he could help me with anything else, like he hadn't broken my bike further, giving me poor information on how to fix it. I'm fine with him doing his best to fix my bike, and failing, but he gave me misinformation, and tried to make me feel satisfied with the interaction. It's fine to say you don't know, and not attempt to fix a problem that you admit you know nothing about. I'll be back, and definitely will try to come here if there's mechanical problems on the bike. This interaction just really sucked. read more

But the main reason I was here was that I've been meaning to come here for a long time and was... well, forced to since we started a 25 mile ride and one minute in my crankshaft seizes up entirely! Welp, no excuses now! Alex in mechanics gave us a great quote and a $30 discount for the premium tuneup! The best part was that when I asked whether it would be worth to go for the premium tune up for $40 more, Alex looked over my bike and said that honestly, he wouldn't if it were him, but I should do it only if I absolutely wanted to check those extra nooks and crannies. They're are open! Checked out Richardson Bike Mart today for the first time. With the all the gyms closed because of COVID-19 what better time to get my mountain bike up and running. I needed a few parts, and Amazon Primes shipping is all kinds of jacked up. The thru axel on my front fork was stripped, and David took care of everything I needed. I told him what I needed and what type of frame and front fork I had. He made his way to the back, and BAM parts in hand. I definitely appreciate service like this. It makes it way easier than going through a part manual, or having to search the interwebs for the correct part number. David was super friendly, and had solid bike knowledge. He informed me this is the second largest bike store in the United States, and invited me back to check the place out after the Dallas COVID-19 isolation ban is lifted. I came here with my husband and kids to get bikes for our 7 year old. When we entered the store no one greeted us not one employee bothered to ask if we needed help. We headed to the youth bikes and there was a employee helping another family not once in the 15 mins we were there did he bother to look at us or even acknowledge us that he will be with us once he's done with the other customer. The 20 mins we were there looking and trying to find bikes not one employee came by to assist or ask if we needed help. It's not like they were super busy and had plenty of staff on the floor. DO NOT go here they are rude and obviously don't care about "all" customers. Will never come back here again. I purchased a Trek Domane SL5 and SL4 for my Fiance and I as we are upgrading to better bikes to meet our training needs each week. I've spent a good 6 thousand dollars at this place and really trusted them after reading such great reviews. After one and a half weeks with my SL5 I went to adjust the angle of the seat post when I realized whoever set this up over torqued the seat post to about 11.5nm when the post clearly says 6-8nm max. When I went to loosen the bolt it snapped in half from the pressure and one of the carbon clamps snapped. I thought this was no problem because it was still under warranty. Here's where the fun starts: I take the bike into the shop and told them what happened. The service rep who spoke to me was extremely rude and was cracking jokes like "that's a 300 dollar expensive mistake you made", "the warranty will definitely say no to this" and wouldn't even let me finish explaining. He then looked at his computer and realized I bought the bike from THEM and did a full 180 on his attitude saying "oh I didn't realize you bought it here, we'll get it to go through". I would hate to see how they treat customers that don't buy bikes from them. I told him I had also purchased some really expensive clipless pedals and shoes that would arrive that day and needed to make sure they fit since the return period was just a couple of days. He said that was fine and to call back on 6/29 to give them a day to keep the bike if the warranty needed more info. When I called back on 6/29, the guy speaking to me was extremely rude again, saying I should wait and stop being impatient. I tried to tell him why I was calling to fit my accessories, but he kept interrupting me and eventually hung up on me. See the picture of my warranty receipt below to see what these guys write about your calls. I did exactly what they asked me to do and they wrote very rude comments about my inquiries. Their service manager Michael called me later and was a lot nicer and asked to give them another week and that I could come get my bike to try my accessories. Michael was a really cool person and actually listened to me. He did said they would let me know when the warranty part came in. I called them today after a week of waiting and apparently the part had already been in and the guy on the phone AGAIN was very rude about it. THEY asked me to call them for status updates and get very rude when I do. I went and retrieved the part today (7/9) and I couldn't believe they even gave me a receipt with their rude comments on it. I will NEVER do business with these guys again. Maybe "JG" - who wrote these comments on the receipt - should ask why I'm calling and not hang up on customers, or talk to your fellow workers before assuming I'm just an impatient person. read more

Overall one of the best experiences I have ever had with a bike shop. In the height of the pandemic, with bike shops running on fumes, the folks at Bike Mart delivered with peak efficiency and awesome customer service. I bought a used Trek road bike from Joe. He was awesome. Not pushy with the accessories or other extras. Looked at me ride the bike around the parking lot, and gave great advice. I'm absolutely in love with my bike. I've come back several times and bought more accessories from Joe who has been phenomenal. I started having some issues with my front derailleur (it was my fault, shouldn't have messed with it). I came in 5 minutes before they closed to drop of my bike (figured with Covid times it would be a matter of weeks before I got it back). The bike mechanic looked at my bike (forgot his name, my apologies), in less than 5 minutes he made all the necessary limit screw and cable adjustments and handed it back to me. When I asked him how much I owed him he said, "Don't worry about it. Thanks for coming in and for your business." After dealing with RBM both on the sales and repair side, I'm so blown away by how much these folks love bikes and know them inside and out. But more than that, I love how much joy they get out of helping their customers enjoy their cycling experience. I look forward to continuing to give them my business. After my husband's positive experiences here over the past year in purchasing his bike and fully refurbishing our two others, I expected the best from RBM. I needed a single bolt for my bike saddle and a few accessories for my daughter's bike. In my hand, I had the broken bolt and related parts. (RBM had refurbished this entire bike 11 months ago, so it's not as though I was asking for the moon.) The helpful service employee very politely told me I had to wait in the (long) repair line in order to purchase the specific bolt -- "That's just the way we are doing things during this time," he said. I said that seemed kind of unnecessary and that I'd go to the front register to ask if a salesperson or a manager had some sort of alternative to The Line. Before I could speak with a front salesperson, the manager stomped over to "help." Condescending and angry (while insisting that he wasn't) is the only way I can describe him. Our interaction left me sort of perplexed. (i.e. Was it wrong of me to ask for an alternative to The Line in this type of situation? Should I not come to RBM for a specific, small part? Is The Line actually not as ridiculous as I think it is, for people who need only a single part of which they are 100-percent certain?) Though the original (still friendly) service employee brought me a new bolt (free of charge), all his okay-ness didn't erase my downer of an experience. Especially during the quarantine, I've committed to supporting local businesses, but I don't see myself making the drive up to RBM again. read more

A friend recommended this place to me and today I decided to check it out. After looking around for a bit a man named Carroll approached me asking if I had been helped. I pointed out a bike that I was interested in and he proceeded to show me 2 more similar bikes that I may also like. He was professional in explaining all the features on the bikes and letting me know the differences in prices. While test driving my bike he educated me about how high the seat should be on a bike and also showed me different kinds of helmets. This bike was extremely comfortable to me and the ride felt very smooth. He showed me several of the helmets but never pressured me to buy the most expensive one.
