Los Angeles. Love. Amor. After drinking this coffee I can't go to the big coffeee house down the street anymore. The coffee here is single source, smooth as silk. Also, they roast their own coffee, so maybe I'm tripping on that in a good way. When I leave town, I kind of miss this coffee lol. The coffee house vibe here is super comfy. You can stay and work on your laptop like I do sometimes. The people who work here are super friendly also, and they're quick to help you as soon as you get in. I went here on Saturday 8/08 and inside seem very nice and cozy .First time coming to this coffee shop and I wanted to try since it seem popular. I like the aesthetic here and vibe . The hibiscus tea was good and super refreshing on a hot day and the Thai cold brew was strong and tasty. The guy at the cashier was also nice, kind and chill . The only thing that killed my mood was the brunette girl that was the barista. I made an mistake :( going up and telling them "I think someone took my drink " since I saw multiple people got the same drink so I thought mine was taken by accident since I was waiting a little while but the Brunette barista girl said with a annoyed tone and annoyed face " I'm not done making the drink" and I apologize since it was an accident for me thinking someone took my drink but then the same barista was super slow making my drink and someone actually took my drink after that interaction. Did not like brunette girl at all but the other barista with blonde hair was super quick and kind :) and remade my drink and apologize. read more

This charming café sits on a corner in a historic brick building. Inside you'll find festive artwork on the wall, bench seating, a comfy couch, and a huge roaster in the back. They also sell their signature blends for you to enjoy at home. Fresh pastries are available for you to enjoy, and outdoor seating so you can relax with your pup. A delightful smell of spices permeated the air when I walked in. I asked the nice man behind the counter what smelled so good. He told me the barista was preparing a Latte Campesino, which consisted of orange, spices, and brown sugar. I was sold. I asked for a small ($5.50) with almond milk (.75) and browsed while I waited. I took a sip and was pleased that the latte tasted as good as it smelled. The beans were expertly roasted. It was a light roast without any bitterness. Parked next to this cafe this morning with plans to check out Kumquat but noticed this cafe was open already with no wait. Glad we tried it - we got the Thai coffee (cold brew with coconut condensed milk) and the horchata latte. Both drinks were not overly sweet and pretty strong. I'm having trouble understanding the modern coffee shop in LA. You source good beans and roast them, but settle for the shittiest, cheapest, conventional, GMO-hormoned-out grain-feed-lot milk available. And only one style of dairy milk, and that's whole. Why skimp on half the drink? Would it completely obliterate the margins to get some quality milk to go with the quality beans? I mean, it ain't like these coffee drinks are 2 or 3 bucks. Some people can get away with the powder if it's good enough or mixed properly. The drink was grainy and obviously from a powder. I like my drinks on the darker, stronger side. However, it pretty much tasted like there was nothing else but the four shots of espresso and almond milk--absolutely no taste of horchata. The service was lacking--ambivalent at best. I'm not sure if the girl would've cared if I just fell over and died, let alone had any questions about the place or the drinks. It was disappointing, to say the least. I really had high hopes and excitement when I pulled over. Maybe on a different day, with a different drink, I might have a different experience. The "coffee and equality for all" sign outside says it all, they truly have a very welcoming atmosphere. The vibes are all there. A clean and bright shop with plenty of seating inside and outside. Service was top tier! I went in with intentions to get the horchata con espresso but after chatting with the barista for a bit, I was torn between two. He was kind enough to give me a sample of the Thai style iced coffee. I love Thai iced tea so add in espresso, game changer. Similar vibes to a dirty chai. I ended up going with the horchata con espresso and man, I wish I lived here for this drink. Horchata coffees are typically really sweet. This espresso cut through that heavy sweetness perfectly! I was a regular at the Altadena location, before the location was destroyed in the Eaton Fire, we lost our home as well. I happened to be in the area and decided to stop by. I didn't realize how emotional I would get when I entered the location and saw familiar faces. It was heart warming to see Ethan. He actually remembered my order. The coffee is as good as ever. The location is great, much larger than the Altadena location, they roast the coffee here and the smell of the fresh roasted beans is amazing.
