Food was good, I personally liked the signature fried chicken. We also ordered the seafood pancake which was also pretty good, but we barely tasted any seafood. Service was kind and fast, probably because we were the only ones there. Inside had pop culture blasting on the speakers and on the TVs, pretty nice for a bar. Food overall was alright and this is a one and done place for me.
We came here for karaoke and arrived early to reserve a room. With just three of us, they were able to accommodate us easily. The deal was to spend $150 on food and drinks, plus $2 per song for karaoke. I appreciated that the bathrooms were clean, which is always a nice touch. The food was great, and we ordered a lot of soju--but as a light drinker, I didn't feel the effects, which made me think it might have been watered down. Other than that, it's always a fun experience with karaoke, and I really enjoy Korean food!

Came here many years ago, still the same layout today. However, their food remains SOLID! Sooo good you guys!! We had a Karaoke room and it's $2 per song... it used to be $1 when I first came here. ( blame inflation am I right? lol ) No designated parking stalls but lots of street parking all around the block. Service was great. We came tonight, Monday evening at around 9pm. Our microphone was having a little problem but got fixed. Melona soju was yum! It matches very well with the dishes we ordered.
We had a group of friends that went to Cafe Duck Butt's located in town. I've been here before but it was years ago. I forgot how it looked. First, the karaoke equipment is way out dated. The lyrics don't match the words. My $100 Amazon karaoke kit works way better and it's easy to use. Second, the rooms are old, small and dirty. Needs to be updated or maybe even put some decorations up. I understand it's a hole in the wall place but at least spend money to update EVERYTHING. Customers are spending a lot of money for rooms to rent out. Third, we booked our room from 8-11. The waitress came in 10 minutes prior and told us we needed to wrap it up because they had another party coming in at 11 on the dot. That's fine for us because we aren't cleaning anything but I would suggest they have breaks in between each party! Instead of doing back to back parties. We had so much food and drinks on the table. I'm pretty sure they didn't do a good cleaning. Because when we got in our room it felt dirty and smelled. Forth, DO NOT waste your money on the Soju. You will leave a diabetic or rotten teeth. It was all sugar and watered down! Not a fan! The worst thing about the drinks is the bar ran out of glass cups apparently. So we were given shot glasses. How the heck did a bar run out of glasses?! Can't say too much about the food, I wasn't a fan at all. I can say the waitresses and bartenders were great. There was one that had an attitude and didn't seem too happy but she was easily replaced by a great waitress. The rude waitress came in our room maybe 3 times in 3 hours. We had to keep going out to the bar area for drinks. Honestly, not sure we will ever be visiting again.
Wow, what a fun discovery for soju & korean beer food. We ordered Kimchi fried rice, Mochiko Chicken, kimchi with tofu, and strawberry soju. We originally were in the area to check out another cocktail spot, but after finding out they were closed for a private event, a local told us about Cafe Duck Butt being a cool spot nearby to go to instead. We're really happy we ended up here. The food was great, soju was tasty and came in a large jug with shot glasses, and the music was loud. There was a good variety of soju flavors to choose from. There were a couple of private rooms for parties to have private karaoke in, and we were in the main dining room with the bar and main floor tables. We're happy we came and would recommend this place to anyone who's a fan of soju and Korean food.
Parking is horrendous down here, be careful where you park because it'll be private property, blocked off , coned off etc and you'll get towed. There were only two or three staff members and all unfortunately they had bad attitudes except for the bar tender. There's a bathroom located in the back, music playing out loud and karaoke. I suggest going earlier if you wanna beat the crowds. It was difficult to have a conversation here because we couldn't hear each other without yelling. The soju is bomb! We got 3 to 4 different flavors and everything we ordered off the menu was killer tasty.
I came here on a whim. My buddy suggested it. The parking was scarce. But there was one available in the back of the building. The walkway to get there is uneven and the concrete is breaking up. Watch your step. We were seated quickly. The server was friendly and attentive. I got a couple beers and the calamari. The calamari was a bit tough for my liking but we ate it anyway. When it was time to check out, I was given a pen that fell apart and leaked all over my hands. The waitress brought a wet napkin and assisted me with wiping my hands. Overall, the service was great. But I don't particularly like the parking situation and the food, even though I only tried one dish. I probably won't be back.
Ahhh i love coming here! It's one of my fav bars on Oahu. They are only open until midnight now because c out covid but i still had so much fun. The kimchi pancake was the best part of the night. It was chewy and crunchy and freaking bombbbb, it disappeared within 20 minutes haha The ddukbokki was super spicy, just How It should be! Our server was awesome she was so nice and attentive. The music was great and the vibes inside were overall fun, had an awesome time
I love the food here! The Korean fried chicken is sooo good. I tried the garlic soy chicken and the flavor and texture was so yummy. The chicken was crunchy and moist all at the same time! Next time I am going to try the gochujang fried chicken. My mom makes this for me at home, so sometimes I am hesitant to try it at restaurants. But their garlic soy fried chicken was just so yummy so I am definitely going to try the gochujang next time! The Korean tacos were also out of this world. They were huge and super flavorful with the pork and kimchi with salad. How innovative to make Korean tacos! I had never had anything like this before back home on the mainland. I will order the Korean tacos again, for sure. This place also has karaoke rooms which is super cool. The service is also super cool and friendly. They can all help you pick something delicious on the menu to try if you have never been here before. I would definitely bring family and friends here for good times and good food.
Let's start with the one good thing. The food. Thankfully, Duck Butt's food is still amazing. Literally the only thing worth going here for. 5 stars. Ambiance is still the same. It's a dive bar with karaoke. Their karaoke system has changed & definitely not for the better. We spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to select songs with no success. My boyfriend had to go out & ask one of the waitresses what to do. To which she replied as if we should've known, "There's a QR code outside..." Would've been nice if that was mentioned when we were being showed to the room. I scan the code & am unable to download the SongBook Master because, get this, the app Duck Butt uses isn't available because my android is too new. It is new (sort of). It's an S23 Ultra. But I have recently been to other karaoke establishments that also require you to use a QR code to access their karaoke system & my newer version of Android worked just fine. Anyway. The Service. If I could give negative stars, I would. I walk in & let them know we have a reservation. One of the girls asks my boyfriend & I if we'd like to sit at the bar while we wait for the rest of our party to come because the room is really cold. So we did. The bartender didn't seem to like that though because this girl had quite the attitude. If you don't want people sitting at the bar, why are you even working here? Mind you, Duck Butt was dead. 1 table seated & 1 other dude at the bar. And now my bf & I. That's it. Fast forward to our time in the karaoke room. We were in the room for about 5 hours & were constantly ordering food & drinks. To give you an idea of how much we were ordering, our bill was well over $400. 80% of the time, we had to go out & order our drinks. I counted 4 times that a waitress came in to actually check on us. Otherwise all they did was drop off the drinks that we had to go out to the bar & order. The last drink my boyfriend ordered, he had to go out & ask for 3 times because they were too busy tending to an emty bar. Idk if Duck Butt is going to close down soon so they don't give 2 shits, or if they just have the world's worst bartender/waitresses, but if it's the latter & they're not shutting down, they need to find people that actually care about working there. Don't accept people's reservations if you don't want them to come to your establishment. On top of the terrible service, they charged us 20% tip on the taxed total of our bill, not the subtotal. Let's be clear. It wasn't a suggested tip. They had already added it onto our bill. You're not supposed to charge people tip on taxes. I would honestly never come back here unless friends of mine insist they want to go to Duck Butt. Even then, I would try to convince them to go elsewhere. The service is that terrible.
I haven't been here in over 8 years! I brought my bf to try it out for the 1st time. We looked up menu on Google and their pupu menu was $5 per item. It said their happy hour was till 8pm. When we got here there was no $5 pupu happy hour, so that was disappointing. I guess the menu on google was outdated. BUT the food was yummy!!! We had the kimchee jun, mochiko chicken, shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, & soy garlic chicken wings. It was not very packed, food cane out fast and service was good!

I stopped here with my boyfriend randomly one day after getting my car fixed at Kwan's Auto Repair right down the road. Love that place btw! Parking was a bitch with "tow away" and "do not park here" signs everywhere! Finally some uncles let me park in their driveway. We ordered some food off the happy hr menu and all of it was surprisingly better than we thought it would be. Their Korean fried rice had authentic Korean flavors that reminded me of when I lived in Korea Town in LA. The mochiko chicken and the fried rice had me at FURIKAKE! The gyoza was our favorite thing we tried. The crispy crunchy outside and the savory meaty inside was yum and the sauce was a great complement. The food was pretty well priced. I think we spent $50 overall for 4 plates and 4 or 5 Stellas ($5 each). We sat at the bar and service was just ok. We had to ask each time for another drink after ours was sitting empty on the bar for over 5 minutes Did I mention there were only 4 people sitting on the bar? Cafe Duck Butt is definitely a hole in the wall. It's a small mostly crowded joint jamming K Pop on its music video playlist and a very authentic Korean Karaoke song selection. So if you're into that kinda thing and a little more than decent food then this is a good spot for you! read more

I've been here a few times and I always want to go back just for the mandoo. They have the best mandoo I have ever eaten. During happy hour it is only $5! Totally worth it, I go back each time just for that. We got there a little after they opened at 5, it was the first time I was here this early. Usually it is packed and you need reservations, but on a Monday at 5 the place was pretty empty. Ordered the watermelon soju, mandoo and spicy pork belly. The soju was a lot for just the two of us! But somehow we managed to finish it. Mandoo was really good, as always, but the spicy pork belly wasn't very good. I definitely wouldn't order it again. Since it was happy hour, ordered another round of mandoo and mochiko chicken. The chicken was very tasty. Didn't order anything else to drink since we could barely finish the watermelon soju. You should probably order it if you have at least four people to share it with. Overall, I look forward to coming back to Duck Butt just so I can get my mandoo fix. I wish the parking situation was better. Even on a slow night parking was hard to find. The service was ok, on the slower side since it wasn't busy yet, but friendly enough. The area and building don't look like much but the food is great and the service staff are friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends and enjoying great Korean food. Enjoy soju, mandoo, mochiko chicken; all are fantastic. Parking is scarce so plan accordingly. read more
This is a fun place to go. Perfect for big groups. You rent a room with your friends and sing Karaoke! There's a phone in the room so you can call the server to bring food and drink. The Kimchee pancakes are the best around! Everyone loves the chicken too! It's super crispy. You have many flavors of soju to choose from. There's an early happy hour too!! Always a guaranteed good time. If your there just for the food you can eat in the main dining room. There's a bar too. read more

Reminds me of Japan town in San Francisco! Great for drinks ... Great selection of soju with their watermelon soju being their signature drink. It's half a watermelon hollowed out and made into a dangerously tasty punch made of soju... This place is fun with a hip vibe that's not pretentious. The food is not your typical bar food either. With a selection of island and Korean pupus it is sure to please a group! read more

Oh. My. Goodness. Yelp, I came to you (started a topic on the conversation boards to ask for a great karaoke spot)... and you did NOT disappoint. THANK YOU YELPERS! Many suggested Cafe Duck Butt... so I booked a karaoke room to celebrate my birthday. Booking the room was pretty easy and I did it a month in advance. Whhhyyyyyy they are named Cafe Duck Butt... I have yet to find out. I sent out my texts/emails inviting my friends out and NO JOKE, everyone thought I was making the name up. I'll have to ask next time where the name originated from. Located behind Shell gas station which is on Ward Ave. Yes, like other reviewers mentioned, the neighborhood is sketchy. Parking is uber tight, but they DO have valet (based upon tips), which is extremely convenient and appreciated! The place itself isn't too big. There are maybe 15 tables inside??... with seating as well at the bar and about 4 (I think) private rooms. We had the room by the bathroom which the biggest room I believe. We were told it could fit 20 people, not so much lol. We squished as many people as we could into the booth and then had about 6 extra "chair stools" and a couple people stood. A few friends were in and out so in the end it all worked out. The place was PACKED when we arrived but we were shown to the room right away. Ambiance... chill and fun! I liked the interior. Pretty cute! Karaoke: HUGE book of Korean and English songs. A lot of the English songs with a 5 digit code didn't work. :( Why? I don't know. You feed the system $1/song. Easy to use and no glitches. 2 TV's in our room and great sound. Food: Prices are around $8-$16. We ordered: -Chopped steak: Not bad... not my type of pupu tho. Well seasoned but just not my thing. -Fried chicken: A HUGE portion of drumsticks/thighs deep fried to a crisp. I dunno what they season/batter this stuff in but it's damn DELISH!!! MUST ORDER! -Mochiko chicken: Not bad... not my fave tho. Flat pieces of chicken, not that crispy... for me, wouldn't order again... -Fried mandoo: BOMB MANDOO!! Filling is yummy, fried to a crisp, and the accompanying sauce was great! MUST ORDER! -Fries: Crinkle cut and served with ketchup. Yummy, but they are just fries. -Bacon & Cheddar fries: Same crinkle cut fries with chopped bacon bits and cheddar cheese with green onions. They serve this with some kinda sauce; everyone said it was HOT! I dunno what it was because I didn't try it but it looked like tartar sauce to me!! I dunno lol. Fries were good tho! -Korean kalbi tacos: You get 3 tacos. Whatever sauce they put in... it's HOT. I mean I'm Thai and I can handle hot but some other guests thought it was SUPER hot! Other than that they tasted okay. -Chicken tacos: Didn't try these but the other people liked it. -Chives pancake: It was okay, not my thing. -Kalbi: I was really looking forward to this; it was juicy and tender, and the flavor was okay, but it didn't knock my socks off or anything. I'd rather order the fried chicken over this. Drinks: My faaaave drink is a washington apple, so I ordered several of those. BUT, the STAR of this joint is the soju. I asked our waiter "what's soju"? and he said "korean vodka". He recommended the apple soju which we tried and it was pretty damn yummy! It went down so smooth at first and then started to have a kick once you reached the bottom of the bottle. Fresh slices of apples inside! HOWEVER, the WATERMELON SOJU stole the show!! Served in what looks like a gutted Thai watermelon, it is FREAKIN BOMB. OMG words can't express how DELISH this damn drink is. I think we ordered like 6 of these total?? $30 for one. It's sooooo yummy and you MUST TRY THIS if you're going here! SO GOOD! Watermelon soju FTW!!! LOL!! We also tried the melona soju which we didn't care for and we got the coffee soju on the house which is VERY good but also VERY strong! I don't know what shot they gave me because it was my birthday celebration (free!) but it was STRONG but GOOD, and pink. I should've asked but I don't remember much after that lol. I did get a lemon with salt on it so maybe it had tequila in it?? Who knows lol. Staff: From start to finish, we had THE friendliest staff. They accommodated our large party and we never felt ignored or impatient for service. We had over 20 people in (and out) of our room and they did great accommodating all of us and our drink/food orders. Once our 3 hour limit was up in the room, most of the group left but 6 of us stayed and grabbed a table in the main room. Service again was exceptional. So friendly, I was definitely impressed!! I'm not sure what was in the air that night... but everytime I was in line to use the bathroom, random people would start talking to me about the soju, karaoke, etc. I mean the people chillin IN the joint were NICE! Random people even wished me happy birthday! How cool are they?! :) 5 freakin stars Cafe Duck Butt... truly a "WOOHOO, AS GOOD AS IT GETS"! We'll definitely be back!!! read more

Happy Hour is Insane!!!!! Don't Miss It! 5pm-8pm! I have always loved coming here and have enjoyed myself every time. You wouldn't even know someone got shot here and also stabbed, I think? If there is no danger then what's the point?! LOL! I come here for my favs the Kimchee pancake, stir fried spicy mochi, and the many varieties for Soju (Especially, the watermelon!). The food is delicious here and that is what keeps me coming back. You can go to any bar and have fries and soybeans, but if you want to have good eats while you get buzzed off fruity drinks this is the place. I honestly try to come here only when it is Happy Hour because if you can save MORE than 50% !!! Why come any other time?! Any which way though this place is delicious! OH 1 BAD THING! Honestly, I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, their rude unprofessional service lacked everything. Walked in around 10:30 p.m on a Wednesday night and there were no seats available except we noticed 2 karaoke rooms empty. Asked the girl workers at the bar if we could take the room and obnoxiously just shouted no and continued to serve other people. Annoyed, we asked another worker about the rooms and she completely ignored us and walk away! Oh, the joy of not being korean. Five minutes of standing by the bar, our boyfriends decided to use the bathroom so me and 2 of my other girl friends just stood there waiting.... STILL! Surprisingly, a guy worker asked if we needed help with anything and we asked if we're able to take the room, and he said yes! Wow. We sat in excitedly getting situated and decided to order drinks right away. Used the phone that's located in the room and once we asked if we could order they hung up on us! Tried again, and they hung up once again. So much for being excited. One of our friends decided to just walk to the bar and order drinks but all they said was "they'll be right there." 20 minutes later..... We're still waiting. Annoyed and furious my boyfriend who looks korean decided to order at the bar this time and they took his order down! Another act of racism. "Only if you're korean." LOL! Got our drinks thirty minutes later. Honestly once we started to feel drunk, we were having a good time. Not much song selection, but still something to sing to. Thank god for good friends who know how to have fun to block out every wrong that has happened in this establishment. Would I be coming back? Maybe. read more
