This is a cute local business. We love a place that is accommodating of all dietary needs, especially places that serves vegans. The service was good and fast. The food was pretty good. Honestly, the chicken and waffles looked super boring but the chicken had probably the best crunch and texture I've ever had. I wish the waffle was a little bit thicker though. It was a bit warm inside and the fans weren't helping much. Even most of the servers walked around with neck fans. Overall a cute spot that's great for brunch/lunch.

Café Eclectic definitely has a vibe. Its reminiscent of European cafes, but with an American twist. I will say that it can get busy outside with traffic during weekdays due to the neighboring school, but it's worth the trouble. I loved their pancakes. I made sure to prep them with plenty of syrup and butter. Also, their biscuit breakfast was super tasty with eggs. Warmed just right and ready to go. Their service was excellent and they know how to whip up a good coffee.

Oh. I so very much wanted to crush on this establishment. It featured many of the highlights I like. Items such as home baked pastries of unusual concept, local retail pottery, vintage style coffee bar, etc. Even the service was vibing. However, the score and love plummeted at the wrap when I was served my espresso drink and cold brew. I looked around to find the "condiment service table" and instead of helping myself immediately, I voiced my intent. The server said, 'she would add the cream (1/2 and 1/2) herself.' (Warning bells), I should have demurred and again insisted on self service. But, she'd been good up to that point. I acquiesced. The server took the cold brew OUT of SIGHT, instead of pouring in front me. When she returned I knew immediately it was not as I'd requested. I questioned whether she'd added cream. She replied yes, that she had. I then put the straw into my drink to verify by taste--that which I knew visually. Hmmm, I repeated my question and clarified, did she add "1/2 and 1/2?" She again repeated--she had. I know what 1/2 and 1/2 looks, tastes, and feels like in a cold brew. This was not that. Maybe, just maybe it was skim milk or the very most, 2%. Nothing more. Additionally, the beverage was watery. I'm horribly disappointed.

Bomb ass pancake that doesn't need the syrup! Never had a pancake like this one.

This is my second time here, yesterday being my first! I came for a morning meeting, enjoyed "The Rachel Wrap" along with their potato hash and they were tasty dishes. This day, I got one of the omelettes, a pancake and a specialty coffee and I'm leaving Happily Satisfied & Full! The service is lovely and the people are kind. I enjoy this environment; it's hippy, it's homey, there's beautiful art everywhere, I can't wait to bring my family here to this restaurant. It's not Starbucks, not Dunkin, it's Café Eclectic. I haven't tried their lunch menu, yet, so I will be back!

I've heard good things about this place so I decided to bring a friend. Disclaimer, I'm neither a coffee nor a breakfast person, so please take my review with a grain of salt. My friend and I ordered some pretty random things to try out. I thought the Tiramisu coffee drink sounded sweet. I love Tiramisu. I did not love this drink. I went out on a limb and tried the gia omelette with salmon in it. I was also not a fan of this. My friend's food was fine but not memorable for her. To be honest, nothing really stuck out to make me want to come all the way out here again to try anything else. I really dig this spot. They have a lot of different options for breakfast & lunch. I'm not even a coffee drinker but the creme brulee latte was delicious. I ordered waffle and turkey sausage. My waffle was a little underdone, as you can tell by the color. My niece's chicken biscuit was good and she enjoyed it. The grits were surprisingly tasty. Service was good, no complaints there. There was no wait on a Sunday morning and there is plenty of parking.

We tried to visit this restaurant last year but it was closed the day we were in Memphis so we were excited to try it this year. We made reservations in advance through their site. We were immediately seated when we arrived. We had a great waitress who was super energetic. For coffees, we got a Carmel latte and a mocha latte. They were very small compared to what we expected and they were strong in flavor. The mocha tasted like a really dark chocolate so I didn't love it as much as other mochas I've had. For our meal, we ordered Nutella and banana stuffed French toast, Grits with cheese, lemon blueberry scone, and a Lil Eclectic Biscuit (bacon, egg and cheese). It was a very filling meal. The scone arrived first and it was served warmed. It was amazingly soft and flavorful! The French toast had the perfect amount of Nutella. I dislike when restaurants over stuff with Nutella and it takes over the entire dish. This had a perfect balance of nutty chocolate to the bananas and French toast. The grits had lots of cheese - while I ate the French toast, the cheese melted so when I dug in, I got lots of melted cheese each bite. The Lil Eclectic Biscuit is small, which was a good thing, because we were getting really full. I highly recommend it - perfect size and packed with flavors from the cheesy biscuit to the bacon. All in all this restaurant has an easy, laid back vibe that welcomes you when you walk in. This is easily attributed to the happy staff that works there. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and smiling. Made our anticipated visit all the better!

This establishment has 2 outdoor seating areas, a patio and a deck area. We sat on the deck under a tree in the shade which was nice. Our server was attentive and happy, which makes the experience enjoyable! We ordered the sunny tater hash and Rachel's breakfast wrap. The only reason for not 5 stars was that the wrap was missing the bacon that should be included. It needed the bacon for salt and texture. Our coffees were absolutely divine and perfect drinking temperature.

I always love to stop and get some good coffee from Café Eclectic. The café was quite busy and my waiter was very patient to take my order and fill it. I bought brioche bread pudding for my aunt and a blueberry scone for myself. The blueberry scone was good, but it was a little chewy for me and the lemon icing on top was very sweet. All in all it was pretty good scone but I would probably order a different pastry the next time I go. The cinnamon rolls looked really good. I love the new look of the restaurant. It is decorated nicely.

One of the WORST experiences I have had in a long time. Left the burial of one of my dear friends and decided to stop for lunch. We were immediately seated so there weren't terribly crowded but it was a full house. It took FOREVER for a server to come over and take our orders. That should have been our first indication. I will say the server was nice and helpful. I ordered the salmon sandwich with potatoes and husband ordered some waffle sandwich. It took FOREVER to receive our food. After 30-40 minutes, I stopped the server and asked. She said they were short on cooks and they were behind. I can appreciate that as everyone is having trouble with labor. But why not tell your patrons and let them decide if they want to wait. We are now at 1 hour and still no food. After an hour and 15 minutes, we were brought our food (I use that loosely). My sandwich looked horrible. I could immediately see how burned the salmon was. They tried to hide it by turning it over but I could see it. I turned over the salmon and tapped it with the knife. Literally black and brick hard. The server immediately took the plate from me all while apologizing. She took it so quickly I didn't get a photo. My husband was brought a wilted, soggy pitiful waffle sandwich. It was definitely thrown together and poorly made. We had been sitting there so long and weren't hungry my husband wanted to try to eat it. I just ordered a plain bagel and called it a day. The manager did come over and apologize and took the salmon off the tab. I was very disappointed especially after all of that and I ended up with a plain bagel. Needless to say I won't ever be back and don't recommend them. I understand things happen in the kitchen. But what I do NOT accept is when the kitchen knowingly does something wrong and try to hide it. There are probably other patrons that would have accepted the salmon burnt and hard but not me. I would have rather they tried to make a new sandwich than try to disguise a burnt offering with lettuce and tomato. Two thumbs down!

Stopped by this stop as soon as we arrived in Memphis after driving all night - cute shop! We got there a little before 7 so there weren't that many people, but a good amount were there. We sat at the bar top, placed our orders and sat there for a little bit. I love at one of their boards and ordered their "Karamel Sutra" because it stuck out to me with the spelling and because I love anything caramel. The girl who helped us was really friendly and helped tremendously with what to order. I was torn between that and a cremebrulatte because I loved the name of the cremebrulatte haha. She made my latte 1/2 as sweet since I don't like my drinks all too sweet. Perfection. Next time, I'll be sure to try some of their food. read more

In a town know for BBQ, we were delighted to stray away from the norm at Cafe Eclectic. Between you and I, this was our favorite meal out of all of the food we had while in the Home of the Blues. We ordered nearly everything on the menu and loved all of it. It was hot, fresh and well seasoned. If it weren't for a very short stay in town, we would have visited again. What I liked most was the nice balance between vegan/vegetarian options and traditional options. The wait staff was also very friendly. They brought our food out in a timely manner, were well versed on the menu offerings and assisted us with whatever we needed, even if they weren't our assigned wait staff. I will absolutely return to Cafe Eclectic on my next visit to Memphis. read more

This place did not disappoint! The coffee and lattes were awesome. I ordered the bagel and lox. The pickled onions were tasty and the salmon was great. My husband ordered the inigo Montoya. The seasoning on the chicken was perfect. If we had any room left I would have ordered a muffin or a scone. They looked so good. We went on a Sunday at 9:15 and had reservations. It was pretty busy. While Being in Memphis visiting my boyfriend we like to venture out and try new breakfast spots. Excited to try something new I was a bit disappointed. Our Waitress Karen was extremely nice but my omelet was very greasy. The biscuits were hard. The coffee was ok and I am huge coffee lover. You might end up waiting a bit depending on if anyone just happens to realize you're standing at the door waiting to be seen.. or is it just me aside from that go get you a matcha latte and some VEGAN PANCAKES.. make sure they're cooked ALL the way through now. It's definitely an eclectic cafe where you should take your time and just vibe out. read more

We have been here a few years ago and loved it...so yes, it's been awhile. We have a lot of great places for breakfast, so we don't venture to midtown a lot for morning meals. We were excited that we had a family birthday and this is where they wanted to go. I can tell you now, it was a disappointing experience from the time we sat down until we left. First off, we were one of three tables of about 10 with people sitting down. So, it was not busy at all. When no one came by to welcome us, we figured we'd hand the birthday boy his gifts. With that, we had time to talk and open all the gifts before anyone even took a drink order. My wife and daughter ordered iced coffees with cream and sugar. Well, they get a glass of black coffee over ice. Sugar not in before placed over ice. So, add milk and sugar that doesn't dissolve it makes the coffee gritty. So, they just ordered a hot coffee instead. We all order our food...we try to explain one person's food allergy. Simple request, but we're not sure the waiter is understanding. We have to tell him over and over, and we're responded with a blank stare. The rest of is order. it comes in a reasonable amount of time, being we're one of three tables in the place. We soon find out why. My wife's food was actually ice cold. I don't think it was even heated up. One of my kids order of bacon, was also cold. The waffle another had, cold. The toast with the omelette, black from being burnt. But not warm... I want to be clear, I don't mean cold, as in out of the pan and sitting. But actually cold. It's like it was all cooked ahead of time, and instead of warm chafing dishes, it was being kept on ice. Or maybe it was all cooked the night before...and the bacon, potatoes, waffles, toast, etc...was all kept in a cooler. And they just took it out of the fridge and put it on a plate without heating it up. Not sure but it was cold. Didn't have anyone to let know, because we didn't see any other staff after our food was delivered for quite some time. So, we just ate and mentioned it after. We did get a unfelt sorry...anyway.... My chicken and eggs were hot and good, but I couldn't eat the biscuits, too hard and dry. It seemed no one ate the biscuits because they were almost rock like, and you couldn't cut them with a fork, and even a knife took some work. When we were done, our waiter asked us to pass down the plates across everyone laps and in their faces, instead of just waking around and picking up from behind. I've never been asked to bus our own table to one side, but I guess we do here. The last thing that upset me and my wife was the bill. It was a birthday meal, and I handed my card to the waiter to pay for the meal. For some reason, he felt it necessary to announce the total of the bill, aloud, to the table. If you read my reviews, I rarely give a bad review. But this was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. I do not recommend going here. It's been maybe 3-4 years since we've been. It's changed for the worse. I can promise that my family and I won't be returning. Not with the amount of great restaurants that are available in Memphis. It really is a shame, because it used to be great. And now I understand why getting reservations were simple...and why we were only one of 3-4 tables occupied. read more

Awesome drinks. Had the black bean burrito. Could have used more avocado, but the house made vinaigrette on the salad was delicious. The coffee menu was extensive and my drink was beautifully crafted. I had the apple cider which had spices, caramel and whipped cream. Very good for lunch/comfort food and pastries. Let me start with the service upon arrival. The hostess was great in checking us in and being seated. Our server was good, not very attentive but not bad either. The thing I didn't like was how they bring the food in shifts. I received my pancakes, then waited 5 mins for my potatoes then another 5 for my veggie sausage. Needs to be better coordination the kitchen. The food was very good. My pancakes were big, fluffy and delicious. I shared with my table of 4 and we all agreed they were scrumptious. the potato hash were a bit hard as potatoes were cut very small, yet they were good. My veggie sausage were Morningstar so you know what to expect. My table mates enjoyed there meals, kitchen sink and whole 9 yards got great reviews from them. The coffee was hit or miss as the regular coffee was a weak but the specialty coffee was good although one came out warm, not hot. Overall it was a good experience and I will definitely go again when I'm in town. read more

If you have 2-3 hrs for weekend brunch, and you're not that hungry then this is your place. I came here a lot during college during off peak times and service is fine. However, I reaaaaally do not recommend cafe eclectic for weekend brunch. The food ranges from mediocre to delicious. The thing that sucks is that for the past three times we've visited, it's taken about 30 mins for coffee and then an hour before getting food(this past Sunday we waited an hour and 15 mins before we got our food). We waited an addition 20 mins although we were 5 mins early for a reservation made. Wait time for everything is just ridiculous. Feels like it was very under staffed. Maybe needs to hire more employees to deal with possibly uber eats? or just stop taking orders from uber eats so you can focus on the customers in the restaurant! read more

Excellent atmosphere and food. This was my first time here and I decided on sitting outside in the patio. My waitress (Kathy??) came to the table with water and quickly took my order. It felt like a warm, home-grown setting. I ordered a vanilla latte that was amazing and chicken and waffles that was perfect. The syrup made it even better. We really picked this place for breakfast based solely on having a patio and being near where we were staying, when my guy and I tried it out back in May. We were so impressed with the food on day one, we went back again 2 days later. The quinoa/almond butter breakfast bowl was so simply wonderfully done. Illy coffee is great, but they made it even better somehow. Our second visit even included a meeting of the owner. She was there, in the trenches, rolling silverware, working side by side her team. Team, not employees or staff or servers. They looked like a team, making great food and we just felt the need to tell her how much we'd enjoyed her restaurant. And will be back the next time I'm in Memphis. read more

Not only is the food made from scratch and superb, but today the staff took their service to a whole new level. I left my wallet. They didn't call. They didn't wait for me to return for it. They brought it to my house. How is that for service! Whenever I go in there, i don't feel like a returning customer. I am greeted like an expected a friend. It's a remarkable place. If you have yet to give it a try, or haven't been in a while, this is a good time to do so, or reacquaint yourself. As well as their regular menu, there are several specials for the holiday season. Eclectic is spot on. The name truly fits this cafe. The BEST hot chocolate in Memphis. I love the Nova with bagel, onion, tomato and cream cheese. You should also try the grilled Brie and apple. So yummy! Many, many excellent coffees, espresso and teas. The menu has something for everyone. read more

Now it could be because I have not visited this establishment in person since before covid started, but the quality of the food we received, especially through Uber eats, have really gone down hill. The chicken and waffle that my spouse ordered looked dried out, too thin, and tasted like they put in an entire stick of butter. As for me I find it odd that the couple of times I have ordered from there I never receive my gluten free toast order. It is very odd since it is literally written on the box. The omelet also had no taste whatsoever, I actually thought I was eating egg beaters. I don't think I'm gonna give this place a chance anymore because I have been thoroughly disappointed so far. read more

I visit Memphis probably 3 - 4 times a year and I always try to stop by Café Eclectic at least once per visit. It's usually pretty busy, but there's a huge selection of drinks and I've never had a bad cup of coffee there. If you show up and see that it's packed, I encourage you to wait if you have time. It's a neat place! I love the Mayan Cappuccino because I love the spicy kick. But I've also had a Vanilla Latte and a Chai Latte that were both excellent. The breakfast is good also! I'm not much of a breakfast person, so I'll be honest I haven't tried much of the breakfast menu. My husband raved about his Kitchen Sink Omelet though. read more

The food is cheap, and very good! The portions are good for the price. I got the Breakfast burrito which includes eggs, avocado, and other ingredients. There was maybe 2 chunks of avocado on top but that's it. The other ingredients- onion, tomato, peppers were very limited in the burrito as well. My first time here was on Mother's Day- so I know that is the reason for them being so busy and our food taking so long, but still think waiting over 45 minutes for breakfast food is crazy. Besides that they have many options for breakfast and it's cheap which is always a plus! And Dogs can be on patio! read more

First of all, I NEVER write reviews on anything but this place deserves one, at the very least. I haven't had a good Sunday brunch like this place in awhile where food taste like homemade! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I came here alone with my 4 year old. Staff was super friendly and even helpful when I did my reservation wrong. The coffee.... I could go get my coffee and lattes from this cafe everyday if only I didn't live almost 40 mins away!!! I highly recommend this cafe. Definitely had a great time and meal. Can't wait to bring family and friends here!!!!! read more

I got the Bird N' Biscuit, good sized portion but I thought it tasted bland. Nice atmosphere, mask requirement but the bathroom did not have soap. We went early in the morning when they opened and it wasn't too busy but service seemed kind of slow. 05.14: I went as a party of one, agreed to sit outside out of courtesy to other guests after a 30 minute wait (understandable). After a considerable amount of time at my table, I noticed larger parties seated after me were being taken care of first- with the waitresses going in and out not taking my order. I left after thirty minutes from sitting down and not being waited on. 05.20: I decided to give it another try- had a much better experience! I had a different waitress who was phenomenal- kind and quick. I had the stuffed french toast and seasonal-hibiscus latte. Food tasted good, coffee tasted great. read more

Coffee not very good today...but our hostess made it right. I would consider my wife and I regulars at this popular mid-town eatery. Today was our second trip in as many days and all I can say is what happened to the coffee? Ordered two Cinnful Jim's and today's version was quite lacking....see pic. No froth, tasted weak (and I asked for an extra shot of vanilla), and little effort if any as far as presentation. The food...wonderful as always. Although every time hasn't scored an A+, the owner is actively involved in Day to day ops and really does care. As such I'd recommend either more training for today's barista or a new one altogether. Update on 7/14/19 - can somebody PLEASE expedite the food delivery once you are seated? Going on FORTY MIN for a 3 egg omelette and a piece of fried chicken. Honestly, I eat here enough to bitch when something is bad....the time from order to plate is ridiculous. I think this place gets away with poor service because they have no competition. Wait till a HUNGRY start-up breakfast/brunch place moves nearby. New update....this place is like being in love with the perfect person but sometimes they piss you off. Me and my friend went not too long ago! I was amazed at the environment! It is SUCH a cute cafe! The sever was sweet!! We came in around 9am on a Sunday and we were immediately seated. great coffee!!! TLDR: you have to practically beg for your server to come to your table, the food takes absolutely eons to come out, and if they incorrectly place your food order, you'll be paying for both plates. The kitchen sink omelet is tasty. I visited Cafe Eclectic yesterday for Saturday Brunch. Much to my surprise, they were not busy at all and we were able to be seated right away... But that's where the good part stops. Not many good things to say about the service. It took around 30 mins to flag down someone to take our order. I ordered an omelet and my husband wanted a sausage biscuit, but they were fresh out of biscuits. So the server decided on just putting in our drink orders and said he would return shortly to take our food order, to give my husband a few minutes to decide on something else to eat. Yet another 15-20 minutes of flagging down our server again. My husband even stood up in the front for 5 minutes to see if he could just place his order up there so we could get the food started. Once the food order was placed, it probably took around 45 minutes for it to come out. Drinks came out after 15-20 minutes. When the food did finally come out, low and behold my omelet was ordered incorrectly by the server. Waiting for the correct order to be cooked, they decided after about 10 mins to let my husband have his bagel sandwich and it was already cold. Another 20 minutes go by and I finally have the correct omelet. After our brunch taking much longer than expected, we were in a hurry to pay and hit the road. We weren't given a bill, just the server saying the total out loud and then handing his card reader over to pay. While on en route to our next location, I realized how the bill did not add up. $37 for a bagel sandwich, omelet, and 2 drinks? I then realized they must have charged us for both the omelets: the wrong order that I never touched and the correct one. That was the cherry on top of a horrible experience. Decided to tack on an extra star because the Kitchen Sink omelet was very tasty and the cremebrulatte & hot cocoa were pretty yummy. Not many other good things to say about the place. I do my best to be understanding of mistakes, but it's hard to be empathetic to a serving team that hardly pays attention to their patrons. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

we went here because i'm visiting from town and i am vegan. this place has incredible options for us, and i was SO impressed by the delicious food and extremely fast service. our waitress Taylor was very efficient and so so sweet. she also told us a cool fact that Elvis would get his clothes tailored upstairs (we thought that was the neatest thing lol) we will be back no doubt!! we also had iced coffee and chai tea! awesome vegan milk options as well. and the vegan peanut butter cookie was a good dessert. thank you guys so much for the wide variety of options read more

Ok, this place is really popular so be prepared to wait. They're also pretty disorganized, so don't expect great service or attention to detail. My coffee was only refilled once in 40 min- our server spent more time chatting than working. The food is very good, but also expect a ridiculously long wait for food. read more

We're a couple of vegans who came to Memphis for some vacation and found ourselves in need of breakfast on the 4th of July. We checked Cafe Eclectic's menu online before visiting and were disappointed to see the vegan waffled was only available on weekends. Nevertheless, it was a holiday and many other places were closed, so we decided to check it out. Much to our delight, the vegan waffle is actually always available and several egg options can be subbed for tofu. Our server Claire was very knowledgeable and could tell us which ingredients were problematic for various menu items off the top of her head. She was happy to tell us which options were vegan or could be made vegan. She was also happy to substitute ingredients where possible. The waffle was nothing life-changing, but vegan waffles are like unicorns in the breakfast world so I was excited to see that it was available at all. It tasted just like a "real" waffle and came topped with strawberries and blueberries with vegan buttery spread and maple syrup on the side. My partner got the garden scramble with tofu instead of eggs. It was delicious! It had tons of flavor and was excellently seasoned. We also got a side of the "tater hash" which were shoestring potatoes with a little bit of peppers and onions mixed in. Note that these are fried in the same grease as meat products; if you elect not to eat food prepared that way, skip the taters. They were good, but it's hard to get those suckers on your fork! The restaurant was full and busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly, had fast and friendly service throughout, and our food was hot and arrived quickly. From start to finish, we had a great meal. Thank you Cafe Eclectic for feeding these tourists on a holiday morning. We had a great vegan breakfast and will definitely be back when we visit Memphis again! read more

Cafe Eclectic is a local coffee house and restaurant in Memphis, TN. The coffee bar features artisan Illy coffee and everything on our menu is made in house, from scratch. Breakfast is served all day and bread and pastries are made fresh daily. From sunrise to sunset, we are family owned and run and have been serving the 901 since 2008 We've been part of Project Green Fork since our doors opened in 2008 and we are now composting all of our food scraps, leftovers, coffee grinds, and virtually all waste with Compost Fairy while Get Green Recycle Works helps us with all of our recycling needs.

Cafe Eclectic was started from scratch at 603 North McLean by Cathy Boulden who raised her family in the neighborhood and always wanted a good neighborhood hangout with old fashioned food and good coffee. The cafe is run by Cathy alongside a wonderful management team and long time employees who have become our family. We've been blessed by our family, our neighbors, and our customers who've supported us fiercely as we've grown and learned about our business. We owe so much to our customers who constantly provide loving feedback and support as we work continuously to improve our service and our products. We are proud to serve our community, just a sip around the corner.

I've been here three times now since it reopened. It would be more, but here we go... They have daily lunch meat and threes that rotate by day of the week. I always check the website to see what's being offered before I go to places like this so I can see if they have something I want. I really dig these kind of lunches, I seek them out when I want a "solo decompress, don't talk to me lunch", so I want to like this place so much. I quit going to Bain's a year or more ago because of never knowing what they are selling. The menu is never updated on the site, or even there at all now. Every time you walk in it's a surprise! I just checked again to verify, and yep, still no menu, only online order, but 60-70% of it is "out of stock". Ugh. When they do have the menu posted, it's normally wrong. This seems to be a trend between the two places now. The first time I was here I was underwhelmed. Country Fried Steak tasted funny and I had the worst cornbread I had ever had. Not even sure how it was made that terribly. I do hope they fixed it. Second visit and this time the printed menu didn't match the website, but they had the websites menu available, strange. The website showed fried chicken livers available, but the dine in menu did not. When I asked, they said they in fact did have them and it was a mistake on the dine in menu. Huh? That time I did have the chicken livers and they were pretty good, and I also one of the best rolls that I have ever had in my life! Shockingly good!! Better than my grandmothers. Please don't smite me from the grave, Gram. Both times the sides were just fair. Same thing at Bain's, so it makes sense. Today I walk in and there is one table sat in the whole place at 12:15. I got a bad feeling from the jump as I am pretty sure the food is all done and just sitting there being held on a hot well table. If it ain't busy, it just sits. This place used to be packed every single time you walked in! I sit down and the old guy with the really cool hairdo comes and gets my drink order and gives me a menu. The livers are not on the menu again... My last visit was 8 months ago, I checked my pic. I knew what I wanted because I had peeped the site and confirmed they had Fried Chicken Livers just like last time, so it's all good, right? Guess what?!?! Still not on the dine in menu so I'm like "can I get the livers", cool guys says no livers and walked away. 8 months later, it's still not corrected. I sit there for a minute, and got pissed off and then, I looked around, thought about eating old meatloaf or fried chicken, took a sip of my water, and I got up and left without ordering. My advice, (that I understand that absolutely no one gives a shit about) is this. Stop putting so much effort into your Social Media BS and get your shit together on the menu/websites of the business's you run. It's cute and all for you to eat at other Memphis BBQ joints, I like bbq too, but let's shore up your own operations before you do so. That way we can all enjoy all of our meals together and you stay in business. I also tried a bite of the barbecue bologna, which is a thick-cut slice served on white bread, and that didn't disappoint either. Inside gets pretty smoky, so you'll probably prefer sitting outside. Luckily, there are plenty of picnic tables and seating areas to choose from. I didn't catch the name of the guy who helped me, but he was friendly, energetic, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, a really enjoyable visit.

I feel like this place embodies the essence of my inner peace somehow. It was born as a overflow bar for Iris from the lore I hear. To me, as I see it, this place became Chef Kelly's escape to reality as far as food, atmosphere, and service are concerned. I think this place presents his personality in his relaxed more chill version. If you have ever been to Iris, specifically, when it was next door, you would understand what I mean. When it was the tiny place it had some kind of pretentiousness to it that just turned me off. I only ate there once. It would take weeks to get a reservation before he moved it and the constant limelight had to be a lot of pressure. This place though.... I could come here three times a week no issue. In fact, I actually wish that I could eat here three days a week. Second Line is moving soon. They are going back to being next door to Iris in the newer Laurelwood location. In some ways I wonder if Chef needs that jovial comfort of a place next to Iris to keep him grounded. I do hope the charm of this is somehow transferred, but looking out the windows into Cooper the last time I was here Dec '25, just will not be a possibility in that shopping center it's headed to. The sticker shock total was OVER $22.00!!! Absolutely ridiculous to think I paid that for 4 items. BUT, this is NOT the reason for the review. The choc raspberry tart was atrocious. There was no balance to the chocolate to raspberry ratio. The whisper of raspberry flavor that managed to make it into the bottom of the pastry shell wasn't even enough to make out a berry flavor at all. If there hadn't been a slight thin line of reddish color for the naked eye to perceive, I'd have thot it was all chocolate icing. Sadly, I think I'm done w/LaBaguette, I refuse to pay their expensive prices just to receive poor quality products.

### Scathing Review for Cafe Eclectic **Rating: ** I decided to spend my birthday at Cafe Eclectic, hoping for a delightful lunch to celebrate the occasion. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, it was a disaster. We waited an eternity for the host to even acknowledge our presence and put our name on the waitlist. As we stood there, one waitress made it very clear through her hateful attitude that we were not welcome. Her disdainful glares and rude comments were completely uncalled for. After finally being seated, we were led to a rickety table at the very back of the restaurant, wedged uncomfortably between the bathrooms and the kitchen doors. It was the worst possible spot, with staff constantly bumping into our table, adding to the already frustrating experience. To make matters worse, our waitress never bothered to come and take our order. We sat there, ignored and disheartened, while other tables around us received service. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, we finally gave up and walked out, my birthday ruined and our spirits crushed. I had taken the day off specifically to enjoy this meal, thinking it would be a special treat. Now, I'm left with the bitter memory of a ruined birthday, knowing that I don't have many birthdays left to celebrate. Cafe Eclectic, you need to seriously reconsider how you treat your customers. This was an inexcusable experience, and I will never be returning. Café Eclectic has been my go-to breakfast spot since the doors first opened in 2009 -- and I mean faithfully. Whether I'm dining in, grabbing takeout, or having it delivered, this place never misses. My signature order? The Rachel wrap, naked -- I swap out the bacon for veggie sausage and pair it with toast and eggs, either scrambled or in omelette form. And the Karmel Sutra latte? OMG. Pure heaven in a cup. Rich, smooth, sweet -- it's easily one of the best lattes in the city. But beyond the food, it's the staff and atmosphere that keep me coming back. Everyone who works here is genuinely kind and welcoming. The vibe is casual and authentic -- you'll always see a familiar face. It's also a sneaky-good people-watching spot. If you hang out long enough, you'll almost certainly run into a local you know. That's just how Midtown rolls. I went to Cafe Diverse for lunch this day. My sister and I were quickly seated, and they happily accomodated our request to take a seat outside. I purchased the brie and pear panini with chips, and my sister purchased the chicken and pineapple panini with potatoes. I adored my sandwich, and I'm quite certain my sister loved hers, also. I was anticipating slow service, but we were served pretty fast for a complete eatery. My only gripe is it's somewhat expensive for lunch... We spent $25 for sandwiches, sides and pops. You can say I'm biased but most will agree this is a Memphis landmark. Cafe Eclectic has won best coffee house for more than 5 years in a row- not just because of their excellent globally recognized illy coffee but also because of their local ambiance and neighborhood vibes that are felt through their scratch made meals and service. They're known for breakfast and it's just plain good food. Try anything on the breakfast menu and be delighted but be sure to ask for your waffle extra crispy. Staff is rude. Very unfriendly. At the hostess stand before we could even get seated were asked a series of health questions and if we've been around anyone with Covid. Then said we had to leave our name and numbers for contact tracing. We walked out. Obviously this place is hoping to go out of business. Place was dead with only 1 table seated at prime breakfast time. Impinging on people's liberties will definitely shut your doors for good! Asking health questions at this kind of establishment is actually against HIPPA laws. read more

This place racially discriminated a group of black entrepreneurs from their cafe telling them that they couldn't have their meeting their even though they registered to have their meeting their with them. They also told them if you want to have the meeting that they all had to ordered something. Blacks have to give you their money just so they can have the that they registered for???? How disgusting! The food was wonderful and the service was quick and super friendly! I really felt at ease when I saw that the menu wasn't intimidating (I wanted to try everything!) and the prices weren't bad at all. I sat outside because I went on an unseasonably cooler spring/summer day- which I recommend because the area and my table was clean. This, my friends, is where I fell in love with illy espresso. They've special coffee and espresso beverages here: the cafe au lait is, in addition, delectable. In addition they have a bakery linked to it with wonderful fresh baked loaves and they sell the most astonishing peach conserve. as soon as I lived in Memphis, this was one of my favourite areas to study. Absolutely loved this place! I ordered the black bean wrap and it was delicious. I tend to get sick of eating veggie burgers and hummus every time I go out, but this wrap was definitely better than the average veg options at most restaurants. Even when I've had to wait a while to be seated during a rush, I was always greeted with a smile or an acknowledgment of my presense knowing that the employees will take care of me as soon as they can. Great place for breakfast, brunch, heck pretty much anytime your hungry. Lots of menu options and if your having brunch they add a few twist to the choices you already love. Get desert and coffee. Loved the Salmon BLT too. Waitstaff was fast and friendly. Parking was good and service was super fast. Overall you can't go wrong here.
