    Stuffed mushrooms

We loved our experience here! We have been here before but decided to order different items. We started with bread which comes with olive oil and vinegar along with herbs. Yum! We also had the Napa cabbage salad and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were delightful and warm. The mushrooms were piping hot and stuffed with Italian sausage and cheese, topped with like a bruschetta topping. The tomatoes complemented it well. The Napa cabbage salad is also warm and flavorful, and it comes with bacon, mushrooms, Dijon mustard and it tasted like gorgonzola cheese or blue cheese. For the entrees we opted to share the chicken piccata and the filet mignon pappardelle and this was phenomenal! The chicken piccata was perhaps a bit more overcooked than I would have liked but the flavor was good. It comes with a potato puree and a side of vegetables (broccoli, zucchini and yellow squash). The picatta sauce had the perfect amount of salt and flavor. The pasta was also perfectly cooked! And the steak was delicious and simple. I enjoyed the cherry tomatoes in the sauce and it comes with a cream marsala . Wow! Overall service was great and we enjoyed the quietness of the ambiance. This is a local neighborhood gem with fantastic service and dishes with flavors that make you smile.

This place has been around for so long for good reason. It's definitely on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for in the quality of the food, service, and overall experience! A reservation is recommended as it was pretty busy on a Tuesday night. The food was all amazing. We were immediately given bread & olive oil/balsamic vinegar. Our appetizers came so quick; the meatballs we got were very tender, bruschetta was okay. Our server was so attentive in clearing off our table for the entrees which also came so quickly! The only complaint was from my dad, he said the veal was a little tough. The rest of us loved our dishes. Pasta was all cooked perfectly and the sauces were well made! As we ate we noticed a man (presumably part of the family that owns the place) talking with customers by name (definitely regulars). The restaurant has a home-y feeling, but is elegant and formal for a fine dining experience. Overall, this is definitely the place to come for quality Italian food and amazing service!

Cafe Figaro always hits the spot whenever we are in mood for Italian. Tonight we ordered the stuffed mushrooms, the Napa cabbage salad, the famous Pappardelle, and the chicken piccatta to share. We loved it all. I appreciated how the stuffed mushrooms were served piping hot. There was steam coming out as I sliced into them. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned. Finally my favorite the pappardelle was chewy and came with a generous portion of meat. The server was friendly and all the dishes came with perfect timing.

I've been here twice so far and both times have been wonderful. It's so homey, a little traditional and the staff are wonderful :) All their food is wonderful. The bread is yummy and soft and the sauce it comes with is so flavorful. The truffle gnocci is bomb. I also love their fettuccine alla adriatica, but I get it with chicken!

Came in an hour before closing. Service was comparable to service in Italy. Food was okay. Romantic vibes. Great selection of wine! Sauvignon Blanc and Sancerre were delicious. Thank you!

I absolutely enjoyed my dining experience here so much! The food is absolutely delicious and the vibes are immaculate. The staff are also very sweet and super nice. I really enjoyed the bruschetta and the pastas, the shaved watermelon ice at the end was also a delightful treat! Loved my experience here so much!

Special of the day : skirt steak

A true Burlingame gem. This long-time family owned Italian restaurant on Broadway has been part of the community for years, and it's wonderful to see the son now carrying on the tradition. The food is classic, comforting Italian made with care, and the atmosphere feels like stepping into a place where everyone is welcome. Supporting restaurants like this means supporting the history and heart of our neighborhood. Martinis were excellent and wine choice was on par! Definitely coming back :)

Cafe Figaro is our go-to local spot for Italian food and low-key date nights! The owner, Will, is awesome and makes us feel like family every time we visit! He also curates an excellent wine selection. In terms of food, you really can't go wrong ordering off the specials... BUT our absolute favorite thing to do these days is order the tasting menu + wine pairing! It's such a great deal AND the wine is nicely paired, showing off Will's talents. We always look forward to our date nights here!

I came here for a friend's early bday dinner. She had made a reservation & we still waited close to 30 mins before we were actually sat. Not to mention, the neglect we felt & on top of that they had sat another party right before us... even though we had waited first. It was a 5min difference, but still... that's rude. So for that, service was so so. It left a bad 1st impression. Although, when it came time for dinner they became more attentive & efficient. Food was coming out pretty fast too, which was nice. More on a positive note, the food was great!! It really saved the night!! I had ordered the calamari, & Caesar salad. Calamari was good, just a bit salty. Caesar was good as well, but it needed more croutons. & for my entree, I ordered the filet mignon pappardelle pasta, & it was delish. Great Marsala sauce!! For dessert, the choc mousse was perfect. Nice, light & fluffy!! Ambiance is small & tight. As soon as you walk in, you're already in the way of traffic. It def needs a separate, waiting area... or for ppl to be sat in a timely manner.

Great food, great atomsphere and great service. We've been going to Cafe Figaro quite regulary starting in 2023 and everything has been consistenly great. I believe they've been here since 1989 and the current 2ng generation owner Will is amazing. And oh by the way, they also have an amazing wine list and their markups are very reasonable compared to other places in the Bay Area.

Amazing pastas and risottos! We came here for a birthday celebration as a group of 6. The lighting was dim and the restaurant was very cozy. The highlight was definitely the risotto con funghi. There were a lot of selections - chicken, seafood, pasta, appetizers. We're definitely coming back!

Café Figaro was a great dining experience. Firstly, our waitress Linda N was extremely kind and went above and beyond with our service. She spoke to us about where we were from and was so friendly! She accomadated our seating preference as well. The appetizer was delicious, probably my favorite. The cheese and basil were so fresh and the prosciutto was fantastic. Well worth the price. The entrees were delicious and very filling. The penne vodka was so flavorful and classic. The pomodoro with eggplant was great. Overall great vibe and ambiance, with indoor and outdoor seating!

4.5 star experience…read more My party of 5 arrived on a Saturday evening and got seated within a few minutes. Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Overall, my party enjoyed the food and we would come back!

My order: Complimentary Focaccia-- Apologies for the picture because we scarfed it down, it was so good!! Super fresh and delicious. Gnocchi Fritto -- Fried gnocchi with truffle sauce. This is a must try for their appetizer honestly! I loved its crunch and soft texture with the truffle sauce. Build your own pasta -- I loved how they have this as an option! We were trying to get our protein in by getting Rigatoni, Bolognese, AND meatballs. Super heavy in the best way haha. Lasagna Pollo alla Vodka -- Now this was super heavy, but so delicious. I've never had a lasagna with chicken OR with vodka pasta, it was amazing. New flavors for me for sure, but I do recommend this!

However, the menu felt much more limited than I remembered from several years ago, when it seemed more interesting and expansive. My friend and I shared the Chutney Prawns for $18 and the White Elephant Dosa for $26, along with one cocktail and one mocktail. Unfortunately, I was not especially impressed by the food. The prawns felt underwhelming for the price, and my mocktail was not particularly memorable. The dosa was visually impressive at two feet long, but it is ultimately still a very thin dosa and very crispy, and I found the seasoning somewhat overwhelming. The gunpowder and spices overpowered the dish for me, although the sauces and potato masala were flavorful. Our total came to approximately $90, and for that price, I expected a more satisfying overall experience. Service was also inconsistent. It was slow initially, and while our server was cordial and kind once he assisted us, he did not return to check on us after taking our order. We ultimately relied on the bartender for items such as an extra spoon and the check. The ambiance is beautiful, but between the limited menu, high prices, uneven food, and inattentive service, I do not feel the experience justified the cost. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return. For Michelin rated I expected more.
