Love love love this place! Best hummus plate around with fresh tomatoes, feta, Roasted peppers, olives, cucumbers, and pita all on a bed of spinach enough for sharing or a full meal! Great place to people watch, relax outside or find a corner inside to read, relax or have coffee/lattes with friends. On top of their cozy family atmosphere, fantastic menu, the owners really seem to care about their workers and it shows. Tried this place for the first time, will not be going back. I ordered a n egg wrap with salsa and cheese. They charge you extra for everything, extra for salsa, extra for cheese, extra for a wrap vs. a bagel or bread! They handed me a foil wrapped pkg and a napkin, no bag? For $8 at least offer a bag! By time I got to my office (less than 5 minutes), I had a soggy, limp mess with no sign of salsa, I think they used a sauce and not real salsa. What a great, local Media institution. This is that local coffee place that everyone looks for and wishes their community had. Great food (with baked goods provided by local legend Jerry Sheehan), wonderful coffee that is well prepared and a welcoming atmosphere (featuring artwork from local artists). I've tried to like this place but am not successful so far. I'm one of those people with a laptop, trying to get a little work done in a nice atmosphere with good coffee, and am glad this is available. But it irks me that there is no wifi or even cell phone signal, so that I'm not even able to use a hotspot or make calls. I've asked why in the past, and apparently the answer is that the owner prefers that people "converse" rather than look at screens -- or something like that. In my opinion that's an arrogant and patronizing policy. Customers should be able to decide for themselves whether they'd like to be online, or not. And it's not as if the tables are always full so that a lingering customer would be unwelcome. They've been relatively empty inside each time I've come. I hope they reconsider and offer wifi. Otherwise, I'll continue to take my business and my money elsewhere. read more

We used to be regulars here. We were nervous when we heard it sold because it was our favorite place in Media. I wouldn't have changed anything when Seven Stones owned it. Since then we've been back 3 times. We noticed the prices went up sky high! The food was terrible the first time and second time too. They always had the best bagels, not anymore. Now the coffee isnt good. La Columbe is the best but whoever or whatever they are using now doesn't nearly compare to that consistent good latte or cappacino we used always get. Last time in I ordered a cappachino and it took forever it tasted like dirty water and there was no frothed milk on top! I mean really....Also worth noting if you read all the reviews for this coffe shop all the posotive reviews are from when the previous owners were in command. read more

I love visiting this place. I do so everyday and order my fav Moca. Its true they don't have wifi but that's not a big deal. I love the classic breakfast sandwich with turkey and cheddar. Good spot in Media.....however, being the only coffee shop in town I wish they offered a little more. If you have a dairy or soy allergy this place is tough. No almond milk option which limits you to the drinks.....this is a cafe right ? No Wifi which is a bummer. Being able to sit at your fav coffee shop and get work done is great and would only think it would benefit to SS. Bagels are over priced. Lox is a great option. All employees are sweet and kind. Let me first say...we were regulars with the previous owners of Seven Stones...this was our first trip on with the new regime...disappointed to say the least... Food? 5/5 Service? The reason I'm writing this review. This past weekend, we came and ordered very simple items off the menu, thinking it would be 5-10 minutes (even though it was busy). We were wrong. We sat and waited for 20 minutes before I walked up to the counter and asked the status. Before I asked, someone else walked in from outside and asked the same thing, to which the girl working the register said that "it was a record wait time today and that the kitchen was 30-35 minutes behind". She then told him the specific time he ordered and then said that he'd still have to wait. No apology. He wasn't pleased. When I asked the same question, she gave me the same answer. No apology for the wait. No gratitude for waiting or my business. Nothing. Rather, it seemed like it was a bother that I even asked. I understand being busy, but if you're going to ask customers to wait 30-35 minutes for a breakfast sandwich, tell them that when they're ordering to set expectations. Secondly, it shouldn't take 30-35 minutes for a breakfast sandwich, even if it's the weekend. If that's the case, hire more people or revamp your process. Lastly, if you're backed up, apologize for the wait. Don't roll your eyes when a paying customer asks how much longer. Be appreciative of someone's business because there are options elsewhere. We had been regulars. The food was very good, but until the staff understands how competitive the restaurant landscape can be and that service is just as important as the quality of your food, we unfortunately won't be back. read more

I saw this spot reviewed positively and decided to have brunch with an old friend in town during the holidays. I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach and feta. It came on a bed of salad however, most of the greens were slimy old and disgusting and the omelette had RED CHILI FLAKES mixed in and I'm severely allergic. In my whole life, I have never heard of any reputable restaurant mixing chilies into an egg white omelette! Thank goodness I brought an emergency antihistamine along in my wallet. Who wants to go to the ER? When I called this to the managers attention; btw her jeans were so low I got to see way too much of her backside (think plumber crack) while she bent over after dropping a bunch of flatware on the floor and just picked them up to replace them back in their container(gross), she tells me that on the menu, "we cook with spices" however, I DID NOT order from the menu- I ordered something specific, i.e an egg white spinach and feta omelette. Her apology was fake she tried to pin the blame on me, again with an order that specific, why would there be a need for clarification?... and she did not comp our meal or consider my message about allergies and order clarity. My stomach as I write this now, is turning with disgust. Ewwwwww... Before you judge this review negatively- understand that first: that in the history of egg white omelettes, there are NO CHILI FLAKE present, so after ordering, one should expect not to have shellfish, treenuts, peanuts, chilies, soy, wheat or any other allergens in their dish. 2) They were rude and gross and completely unempathetic. If I'm going to finally start reviewing places around my new home, I may as well start with Seven Stones. I'm obsessed with this place. I have to make a stop here every time I'm in Media (sometimes two stops, one when I arrive and one before I leave), and I'm in Media a LOT. Their pastries and desserts are scrum-diddly-umptious. I've never had one that disappointed. If I can't decide, the green tea cupcake usually wins. It's genius. AND their iced tea is fabulous, too. I am picky about my iced tea so you can take my word for it. I've had an espresso drink here once, also, and I thought it was yum. But I don't drink a lot of coffee, so you'll have to judge that one for yourself. Last but not least, it's a neat place to hang out. I love all the artwork and the eclectic decor. I'm not sure if Seven Stones changed ownership or something, but the last 3 times I've gone have been really disappointing. The coffee takes a really long time to be made, the iced coffee and cold brew never has enough ice, and the bagels they use are always stale. Stale the point that I had to use a steak knife to cut through it when I got home with my bagel and cream cheese. There's a bagel place a block away. I can't see how they don't have a fresh supply. I do really enjoy their lattes, but it's such a pain to order in their small waiting area and wait a while for one drink. I would recommend coming for just drinks. read more

Seven Stones is an awesome little coffee shop with a surprisingly large food menu, including sandwiches, quiche, gelato, bagels, and an eye-popping assortment of baked goods. There are multiple vegetarian selections (though not many vegan options) and the food strikes a good balance between organic/crunchy and over-the-top/decadent (it took all of my willpower not to order a slice of creme brulee cake or a red velvet cupcake). The coffee is La Colombe, the cafe is filled with work by local artists and a bit of fair trade propaganda, the hours are good (open until at least 9pm Tues-Sat), the staff is really nice...essentially, it's pretty much the ideal small town coffeehouse. I wish they would open a second cafe in West Chester because we could really use something like this to compete with Starbucks and Cosi. read more

One day, something in Media will disappoint me. Today is not the day. This is a great little coffee shop cafe in between two streets. If you're driving, it's definitely going to be tough to find because the storefront isn't visible from the street. There's a very nice area to sit out in front and there's indoor seating as well. Everyone is very friendly. Food and coffee offerings are varied, but small enough that you can tell everything is made in-house and done well. I ordered a blended coffee drink, which was less of the shake I was expecting and more of a granita, but still good. Lox was amazing. I don't think I'd go here for dinner, but it would be great as a self-serve brunch place, or a cafe/coffee shop at any time. read more

Went to cafe Isla today. I was very disappointed in the treatment we were given. Upon entering ,I was told to have my mask on before entering...my mask was in my hand and I wanted to see if a mask was required even though I was fully vaccinated. The way the young woman barked at me about my mask, I felt like a second class citizen.. I was so caught off guard, that I did exactly as I was told, as if I was a child, even though the worker was probably 40 years my junior... my mistake was going back in and giving them my business.. I definitely won't be back. They are letting their political views rule their business, which in my mind is bad business! read more

One of the cutest coffee places ever. It reminds me of a place I discovered on Anna Maria Island in Florida (which I absolutely adored). I came in specifically for a mocha and was happy to discover that they serve La Colombe coffee. My mocha was fantastic, but not quite as hot as I would like. That's my only complaint. The baked goods looked great and it took all of my willpower to not order one of every flavor of the macarons. There's lots of outside seating that I'm definitely going to be utilizing on the upcoming nice days. read more

This is a beautiful little cafe. The food and coffee are amazing. The fare is heavy on bagels, I recommend the lox on an everything bagel. And they also sometimes have gelato! It's got outdoor tables so you can sit outside when the weather is nice. They bring in terrific musicians. It's a great community hangout! However, there is no wifi. Stopped in here for a cappuccino with a friend. It's probably the best cappuccino in DelCo - with perfect foam and thank goodness it didn't taste like a latte. I cannot speak to the food as we only stopped in for coffee. Desserts looked good but they are Le Bus products not in house confections. The dining room could use more attention. Tables needed cleaning as people appear to have to bus their own tables. Service was fine albeit a bit slow. I stopped by today using Yelp to find a local cafe that serves gluten free items. I saw all of the reviews and stars so I figured I had to try it out ! I came in and the staff were super friendly. They welcomed me and told me the best items on the menu and also that they served gluten free bagels ! I ordered a bagel with white fish salad. It was so delicious and I couldn't even tell the bagel was gluten free ! It was pretty small but it was very filling and satisfying. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the portion and the expense. 12.50 for a bagel sandwich is not something I can make a habit of getting ! But hey it is rare that I can find a cafe with gluten free bagels and items on the menu ! I can't wait to come back and try out their speciality drinks and baked goods ! Very cute cafe ! read more

Quaint cafe right off of State Road. It's perfect for a good cup of La Colombe coffee. They also have a variety of bagel sandwiches, paninis, salad and baked treats. They have a small seating area inside but opt to sit outside if the weather is nice. It can get busy on the weekends but the line goes quickly. read more
