Loved this place. We stopped for lunch on our way to monterey, all of us had different salads. The salads are super fresh and flavorful. They also had lot of baked goods that looked delicious. The service was great and girl at the counter was very courteous. They also have some interesting lemonades, which we really wanted to drink since it was 115F outside. Was a first timer to this place and the worker who welcomed us was friendly. I ordered a berry mix salad and my sister ordered a chicken Cesar salad. Both were delicious and fresh. They had a water station with mint and cucumber fused water to help ourselves too. They also brought our food to our table and asked if were needed anything else to make our visit better. We told the young man we were perfectly fine. Didn't had a chance to try some of their breakfast options because of the time we had gone but it was a cute place to have brunch. read more

Go somewhere else. They could be great except they are way too expensive and sandwiches are mostly bread (not much middle). We have tried it several times, different sandwiches and although they have great bread, they do not fill up their sandwiches which is such a disappointment. They have friendly staff. They are in a great location. I really want them to be so much better than they are. I'll stick to Togo's. I will hope someone teaches them how to give appropriate proportions to what they charge. Was so excited to go and try this place finally. Their hours for Tuesday are till 5 pm. I drove all the way from Salinas and got there at 3pm and people were eating inside. As soon as I try to open the door the workers come out and tell me they "just closed" even though it was 3pm. - either have set hours of business or don't open a restaurant, that simple. Enjoyed the combo of 1/2 truffled egg salad sandwich and cup of creamy tomato basil. The portion was filling. The Numi tea selection was great with 10 flavors to choose from. They were quick to serve us even thought we were a party of 11. They even brought out a truffle chocolate to each of us to make up for the "wait", so thoughtful. The atmosphere is nice, bright, clean, and welcoming. Great downtown location! The presentation of the bakery and desserts looks nice. The sandwiches and sides we ordered to go were very tasty- good sized lunch portions. Fresh homemade soup in bread bowls would be a nice compliment to the offerings on their menu. I went there for lunch and ordered a scone and sandwich. I had a bite of the scone and discovered that it was moldy. I gave it to the cashier and she threw it away without informing the manager. I suggested comping the sandwich but she ignored that. I ordered a tartine with avocado and arugula, and it came with spring greens instead of arugula. I said I had ordered it because of the arugula, and she explained that they don't use arugula any more, and they've suggested to the owner to change the board. I got a refund on that too, and asked to speak to the owner. He wasn't in so I spoke to the manager. She too said the owner needed to change the board. She did offer a free sandwich which I appreciated. read more

This place is one of the better sandwich/bread spots in town. A little pricey but you pay for quality which is always nice. The turkey sandwich is wonderful, lots of produce and the turkey isn't over processed, slimy garbage. The sides are also good, fruit is usually fresh and the homemade chips are killer. The coffee would be better if it were local, Gevalia is good, but overhyped. I highly recommend this spot in town over the big chain restaurants. read more

I just tried this place last week, and was not impressed. Cute inside, but minimal service and the food was just "meh". We had a salad and a grilled cheese, they were fine but nothing special. Our orders arrived quickly, but we watched a single diner next to us wait 15 minutes for her sandwich and the place was empty. This seems to be a theme from previous reviews: the staff is really lazy about service, and they need to fix that if they want to stay in business. read more

Today was the second time that I have eaten lunch here. Another just so-so place to eat in Gilroy. Interior is inviting. Food is okay- somewhat overpriced for what you get. Both times I have been, they were out of meals advertised on the menu. It would be nice to have food served on actual lunch or dinnerware that is a little more pleasing to the eye. Many meals are served in plastic, disposable containers which detracts from the atmosphere (not to mention how environmentally unfriendly it is ). I've had the veggie sandwich and tomato soup combo several times. The sandwich is flavorful and loaded with vegetables. The soup has a great flavor. Nice location tucked away by the post office. Lots of different sandwich options to choose from. Line is always usually long and generally take about 10+ minutes to get a sandwich out. As for the sandwich I ordered it was good, not great, and maybe this is just a personal gripe but for a place called "Bread Company" youd think theyd have more bread options like actual rolls. All their sandwiches I BELIEVE are served on sliced bread ONLY. It come with home made chips (didnt have much flavor at all) and another side option. All in all I got a decent sandwich for I believe around almost $14 dollars. Doesnt really compete with the Beach Hut Delis, Mr.Pickles, or Ikes of the world, but I guess has its place if you are looking for something REALLY light and dont mind paying for the pretty nice scenery inside the establishment and location its at. read more

I have tried two of their sandwiches. The club was good and everything tasted fresh. The roast beef was good but it had way too much horse radish on it (needs to be toned way down). I didn't care for the pasta salad (it was so bad I threw it out). The homemade chips were pretty good, but could have used a dip...the service was professional but not very friendly. Typically enjoy the food but I believe they were just having an off day they day I went in. The staff behind the counter seemed unorganized and just all over the place, I proceeded to place an order and asked for bacon in it, my total came out to $10 and some change ... so I stood there waiting for my order and another customer came in upset cause the worker took out her order to her and then I guess there was a mistake and so the worker brought it back in, well that customer came back In looking for her order and no one seemed to know where it went and the worker who brought the order back inside was not saying a word. I felt bad for the young worker who kept apologizing. So my order came up and I started walking out, I looked in my bag to see that there was none of their homemade chips ( which is the main reason why I went), I went back inside and the young worker said " I'm sorry , but we ran out". Might I add this was around 1pm during the week. I couldn't believe , so I paid $10 something and got cheated. This was a new place we had not tried before and after seeing it one day I insisted to my wife we should try this place. So today we meandered over found a place to park and strolled in. The place is nice clean looking and seems like a nice little sandwich shop. I like the concept a upscale small quick sandwich lunch spot with premium sandwiches'. So we ordered you get your sandwich choice and two sides. We placed or order and waited to get the food to go as it was 12:15 and not many places to sit. Upon arriving home we opened the boxes and although I ordered double fresh homemade chips I was disappointed to get the same amount of chips as my wife who ordered chips and cucumber tomato salad. The sandwich was made without much thought and all the meat was piled in the direct center of the bread. In the center the meat Is so thick you can not hardly take a bite and along the edge no meat at all. The bacon on mine had clearly seen better days and the taste and feel of the bacon had been microwaved two or three times. M wife suffered the same fate and all the meat in the center, she was so OCD about it she ended up taking it apart to put it back together in a more pleasing manner, distributing the meat more evenly across the bread. She however ended up throwing away the salad provided as it was past its prime and the cucumbers had started to get the slime on them they get when you keep them refrigerated past when you should throw them away. The final tally was 21.00 for two sandwiches no drinks and chips, they I would bet came out of a giant bag. I am spoiled my wife makes home made chips often and these if they were homemade were made at least a couple to several days ago. I would go to a lot of local places and eat very well for 21.00 for lunch and still have enough for the waitress to get a 5.00 tip... OD/s kitchen is one of those places. Pricey is fine if you get something worth the price. Reality sets in here and your not getting much value for 21.00 for two sandwiches. This place is trying a crowd funding deal where they get you to buy prepaid lunches, my fear is they will not be around long enough to ever get your lunches. We will not be back to this place unless there is a huge turn around... read more
