As I call to order before arriving to work, I say my name and they ask if I want my usual. I love that a place as busy as Goodonya, still takes the time to get to know you, greet you by name as you walk in and show gratitude for you patronage. My usual is a salted caramel latte and the 92123 burrito as a rice bowl. It's egg, chicken sausage, provolone cheese, and hot sauce served over brown rice. So yum! Had the spinach salad, which is huge, and the club sandwich. I enjoyed both but only got through half of each before throwing in the towel. Plenty leftover for lunch the next day. Also had the Hammerhead coffee drink. This is espresso and then your choice of coffee styles, in their little coffee desk area. Started coming here because it was convenient & close to work. It's overpriced, but that's to be expected since everything is pretty much organic. The tomato soup is really good, but they don't have it often as they get different soups in each day. The sandwiches are good if you're ok paying an arm & a leg for a basic sandwich. I usually get the acai bowl. It's 1 of the best acai bowls I've had. I get it in the morning & eat on it throughout the day & I won't need to get lunch. It's really filling. This will be a new favorite spot for my roomates and I. All three of us got the avocado toast, which was such a deal and delicious! I got tomato and egg added onto mine, and in addition to the spices they put on it, it was so good that I inhaled it. I also had the golden milk latte, which if you like matcha lattes, I would recommend it. It was creamy and slightly sweet, with alot of healthy ingredients, if you want caffine though you need to add espresso. Have been a patron since 2004 when I worked in the building. If you work in the Ruffin Road/Aero Drive/Balboa Ave area they deliver. You have to order $10 or more for delivery but it is totally worth it. Their foods are made with the freshest ingredients and are always tasty and leave you wishing you bought an extra salad or sandwich. They serve breakfast and lunch and close at 3PM. I have been hooked on the CYO (create your own) Salad for 4 years. I always get mine with Chicken, mushrooms, red onion, feta, tomato with the Feta Vinegrette so yummy. You can't go wrong with anything at Goodonya though. I love the turkey sandwich with a little lettuce and tomato and onion on multigrain. Oh, and the soup...today I had the Chicken Gumbo. Biggest Acai bowl ever! I was craving an Acai bowl this morning and yelped up the closest place to my office. GoodOnYa was the only hit so I drove the 5 minutes not knowing what to expect. Upon arrival I saw that it was in the middle of an office park, I also realized I was about to cheat on my own office Deli (Deli Mart) with it's smaller, healthier, and perhaps more delicious competition! Ended up paying $6 for a HUGE acai bowl filled with granola, strawberries and banana! I've been craving one since last week so this was truly heaven in a plastic bowl! The only reason my experience didn't warrant a 5 star rating was because the wait time was a little much. A bit expensive and the service here has gotten really slow. I counted 6 people behind the counter and it took them 15 min to toast a bagel for me. The bagel ended up being stale and thrown away. I've gone here at least 5 times within the last months just for their matcha tea, which is amazing because they put cinnamon and vanilla in it. Their iced coffee is good, the açaí bowls are good, the pesto panini is good, chicken bone broth is perfect for when you're feeling sick, and they use a lot of organic ingredients that taste good. This place is located inside a Business area, so its hard to find if you aren't reading signs. I usually love places like this because they are always pushing out fresh sandwiches. Everyone is so nice. When things are signed on an Ipad im all about it because i love apple & saving the planet which are 2 totally contradicting topics but whatever. Now about the food, -My boyfriend liked his sandwich, but he rates it about a 4/10 because He didnt know it didn't come toasted and he would have preferred that. -My Sandwich was great! Grilled Veggies & Grilled Bread.. Melted Cheese. The works! Just wish i asked for a little less onion. -My Acai Bowl was the main reason i chose this place, & it was okay. Im really glad they didn't put honey in it, because i don't think they go well together, it overpowers the acai berry flavor. But, even without the honey it was still lacking flavor. I was down in Kearny Mesa doing training for my new job when I found myself starving at lunch time with no idea where to go. I found GoodOnYa on Yelp and less than half a mile away, nestled in the business district. I took the tip from another Yelper to try the spicy thai chicken wrap which was an excellent choice. The teeny tiny deli was pretty full with various business people but the line moved quickly. A tip for the less observant: the line to the left is for old fashioned orders and the line to the right is for phone-in orders. My wrap was $7.70 with an additional (optional) tip. They do transactions on an iPad and offer your receipt to be emailed or texted to you. Also if you check in on Yelp you get 30% off a GoodOnYa bar (which to be honest I have no idea what that is, as I figured this out after I had already ordered). I waited about 3 minutes for my food and enjoyed it at a table outside. My wrap was on the smaller side but was so stuffed with fresh ingredients that I was totally full once it was gone. Credit cards are done on an iPad so my receipt was able to be emailed to me or texted. Way to save paper! The deli is hidden in a business complex off ruffin ( you take the first street only sky park) and then the first plaza on the left its in the back. there is a sign directing you which is super helpful even if parking can be a pain if you have a larger vehicle I will most certainly return. I like the name, GoodOnYa, it's a good name for this deli that sells generally healthy, organic sandwiches, salads and beverages. They must have had a busy day because I was told they only had white bread left, the other bread options were sold out. I have been to GoodOnYa twice and both times I have loved the Turkey Superfood Sandwich! They do not always have all types of bread as they run out, but that is worth the trade off for fresh. Additionally, they had an excellent pozole soup the last time I went. In an era were too many people choose unhealthy fast food, GoodOnYa is offering up some great selections. There's tons of fried and greasy food places nearby, this is by far the healthiest option. They have daily specials for breakfast, lunch and coffee. The daily coffee special is $3, and the sandwich special is $6. One of my favorite things is that they do half sizes for half the price. My favorite thing on the menu is their Acai bowl, it's a generous serving for $6.50 but they'll do a half size for only $3.50 and the half size is still really huge! Absolutely love this place. It's located in between corporate businesses so definitely not something you stumble upon unless you're looking for it. They provide options upon options so it's hard to even choose since everything sounds so good. A sandwich and coffee alone will run you around $12 but it's worth it. They pride on using all or mostly all organic ingredients and strive on locally grown ingredients as well. I've had a handful of their choices but their SoCal sandwich is delightful. Stacked with loads of avocado, turkey, provolone, tomato, lettuce and cab sav. Getting a sandwich toasted always brings a little crunch in the equation. The acai bowl is huge and the egg salad sandwich is great also. I'll always favor a spot that cares about the world and where we live in as much as I do. Well seasoned and not greasy, half a burrito and a cup of hot Moto coffee made a scrumptious breakfast. I prefer their breakfast burrito to Naked Cafe's healthy burritos: better seasoned, and the eggs are less watery. The cook/server who helped me was courteous as well. I also liked the emphasis on local, organic foods, no artificial sweeteners, and environmental responsibility. I've been going here 2-3 times a day for about a year and am always happy with my food and service. The staff is all nice and friendly, the menu is large and diverse, the ingredients are fresh, and the food is great. The place gets busy around lunch time, but don't let that deter you from trying it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I would recommend the pitaya bowl (better than acai), breakfast bowl, any of the wraps, and the soups are all amazing. I wish this healthy little cafe was open on weekends! They get many of their ingredients from local sources and cater to nearly every dietary need you can think of. On my visit last week I got the half and half soup and sandwich with vegan lentil soup and egg salad on gluten free bread. The egg salad was good, the gf bread on the dry side, but the soup was out of this world. I felt it was a substantial amount of food for the price (considering quality and the ingredients that went into everything, cage free eggs and gf bread, etc). I haven't been here in a while because this place is kind of hidden and only open on the weekdays until 3:30. This last visit definitely makes me want to come back for some soup. They also make their own cashew milk, so I got an iced mocha with cashew milk, everything delicious. The staff was so nice, there were 3 guys working Frank and 2 others were very nice, even though I accidentally came in the wrong door and ended up in their kitchen it was my first time there and its hard to find since it's in a business park. Oh and they were about to throw out their old bagels and ave them to me, so nice. I was feeling sick and needed something simple to eat. I looked on Yelp and found this place that somehow had good oatmeal--rave reviews for the oatmeal, actually. So I drove by, bought that, and ordered a tea (theirs are loose leaf. Love it!). The place is small and in a business building. It's not easy to see. It's actually near the parking structure. You wouldn't see it driving by. Anywho, I went to work and ate my oatmeal. Wow, it was probably the best oatmeal I've had. I added bananas and granola, made with almond milk, and it was exactly what I needed. Tea was of good quality (not those dinky little tea bags you get at the grocery store). Based on this item alone, I would be willing to stop by and try their other items like their sandwiches. It seems like they put thought into whatever they make. Oh, I almost forgot. Since this is in a business building, do know that it will probably be busy and full of office type people. So not exactly a place to sit and enjoy some time with your friends soaking up the atmosphere. It gets a lot of foot traffic in there. In any case, I got my order pretty quickly even though it was during lunch time. If you're in a hurry, might be best to call in your order. I will do that next time. He expressed his disappointment at how little I received and gave me an immediate refund and then invited me back to try again. I did and I'm glad I did.
