Turkey Superfood Sandwich
Mitchell N.

Service is always friendly. This sandwich is just bland. I got it with sour dough and it crumbled as I ate it. Definitely a bummer. Also my pickle was mush. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My protein shake was superb![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But for sandwich's I will most likely stay away.

My office building is near here, I'm usually remote but come into the office occasionally. We order lunch here at times! Since it's in the middle of many office buildings, I'm sure they get a lot of lunch orders. Their food is usually good, a vast sandwich/salad menu, so something for everyone. I'm a big fan or the honey mustard chipotle chicken sandwich!! The honey mustard chipotle sauce is delish, the bacon adds a nice salty bite, and I love that it's toasted crispy. It's a little messy but I still enjoyed it! Sometimes, our orders do get mixed up which is a bit inconvenient, but I'm sure it's hard to keep track during a big lunch rush.

Avocado Toast (2 slices), Iced Latte
Vivian T.

I used to order delivery from Cafe 160 back in 2020 and was in the area for a training so I thought to stop by to check it out. I thought I beat a hectic lunch rush while I ordered first, but somehow my order of avocado toast fell through and everyone in the line received their order before me. I do like their breakfast bowls here and the seasoning on the avocado toast is one of my favorite breakfast items. My coffee was ready, but I did have to stand in front of the counter awkwardly to remind them about my food. Once they realized, they made the order very quickly. I ordered two slices of toast, however, to my dismay, one of them was not toasted. It was a bit sad to eat and I ended up having to leave soon right after, so I did not check. I'd continue to order for delivery purposes only because I'm not the hugest fan of their layout and ordering system.

Salted Caramel Latte 16oz with oatmilk

Love cafe 160's localization of ingredients. The salted caramel latte is a nice way to start of your morning. I truly like their spartan scramble , it's a hearty breakfast for one who has an early start in the day

Sizable, tasty sandwiches. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious coffee drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all the good experience. Maybe a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

Chicken Pesto Sandwich (grilled)
Yasmeen E.

Awkward experience here but willing to try it again. We walked in and waited at the counter for the employees to ask us for our order name. (They were in the middle of doing something) but what was annoying was a group of three people showed up behind us and the employees asked for their names while we stood there waiting.. I thought that was a little awkward, but nonetheless, I was excited to try my iced chai latte and chicken pesto sandwich. Both were very underwhelming. The iced chai was watered down and I could tell before I drank from it. And the sandwich was awkwardly very small and the taste wasn't all there. The positives are our order was on time, they have online ordering, affordable items, and many options on the menu that I'm willing to try in the future.

Spicy Thai chicken bowl
Nate P.

Great deli if your in the balboa/areo area. Tasty healthy and quick. It's perfect for lunch to go if you have to get back to the office. I got the spicy Thai chicken bowl with no tomato's. Definitely a solid sized bowl with lots of chicken. Gave it a quick mix and went to town. It was great and full of flavor, the peppers and peanuts were my favorite part. I'm definitely coming back to try a sandwich or another bowl. Any bowl you can get as a burrito as well. Nice variety and they serve breakfast as well. Good little spot if your office is in the area.

Outside the Business

My coworkers usually walk here since it's near by work and also to get a little exercise in as well. You need to have the address in hand to find the business since it's behind a building. Parking is good since it's shared with other businesses around the area. Once you walk inside it is small and the menu is straight forward and the employees are quick to help. I ended up ordering the Chicken Pesto and a tea. I was a little surprised by the price and they did have military discount, so that was a plus. Once I received my sandwich it was small for the price and I understand that it was toasted but I don't like a sandwich that cuts up the roof of my mouth. Wasn't to found of the flavor either, the taste was bland and like I stated before it was small for the price.

Pesto Coco Wrap
Kay M.

Quaint spot. Quaint choices too! Got myself one of the coco wraps with tofu. Pretty good. Wait times are not too bad, order online to get that speedier. Place is hidden but inside they got a cool table made from a huge wooden door. Good for healthyness. However the Chai I got was not really good haha. Stick to the food, you'll like this spot.

Iced Salted Caramel Latte

Such a cute cafe. Used to love to come here and completely forgot about it after I moved but I'm back! Love the iced salted caramel latte and their food is bomb too.

Not somewhere I'd go out of my way for again to visit but was worth a one time stop. It's in a plaza/main audience is for the business workers there. The americano was okay. They gave me an extra cup of ice because it was hot (asked for ice) so pretty watery but that's fine enough. Not too noisy and there are outlets to plug into. Both indoor and outdoor seating. They have vegan protein powder for smoothies which is nice to see. Sort of hard to find/only a tiny sign.

Golden latte with a shot of espresso (made this low carb, hold the honey, add stevia drops)
Smartypants S.

Yum. I searched for 'organic' on Google maps and came up with this place. This is our second visit, and love the menu, service attitude, product freshness, local suppliers. It's got little tables and its in an office park. Park anywhere around the garage (not 'reserved' sign), monthly parking passes suspended.

Still open during covid. Support this great small business that provides healthy eats supporting local

Covid #10 review Always friendly, fast and great variety of healthy breakfast and lunch. I got an Italian stallion sandwich, a mint mocha and protein smoothue called " pb hemp protein repair". Available for takeout. Looks like they support all covid safety measures. Support small businesses. They even emailed us looking for donations. I decided to come and get takeout. When you support Cafe 160, you are also supporting 12 other small businesses, who are their suppliers. See my photo of the chalkboard list.

I appreciated the live music, though it did make conversation a bit difficult to hear. The drinks were sweet and strong! I recommend the Tangled Up in Blue The macaroni and cheese was the best appetizer. The wagyu tartare is actually quite spicy, and although tasty, we could not finish it because of the burn. The entrees were hot and cooked exactly as asked. You seriously get a bang for your buck with the portion size of the chicken parm! I also got some random corn surprises in my dish - I don't mind, but just something to be aware of in case you are allergic. I'm definitely coming back.

We did have a fairly large group so we occupied the entire back wall corner. It was a bit snug in terms of table space and leg space, but we made it work. The staff were doing their best to keep track of everyone's orders, but there were a few mix-ups in the end. Food came out in waves and had a good cadence to the meal. - FOOD - We had a lot to share amongst our group! Wagyu Tartare ($14.00): Really flavorful tartare! Had a nice tartness to it due to the Black Vinegar. Pork Belly Baos ($12.00 - 2pc): Honestly this was just OK to me. Ahi Tuna Crudo ($18.00): Very bright and refreshing. Chicken Satay ($12.00): A little dry on some chicken pieces. Crispy Brussels ($10.00): Not as crispy as I'd hoped but still good. B&R Mac & Cheese ($8.00): Very creamy, very cheesy. The pasta was a bit soft though. Flat Iron Steak & Fries ($25.00): Decent piece of steak, cooked medium well. I honestly enjoyed the fries a lot! However, there must have been something expired, cooked wrong, or just not up to quality as many of us got stomach issues that night and the next day. We were all spread out so not sure what it could have been given we ate a few different items. - OVERALL - It was a cool vibe and they have some good tasting items, but considering a few of us got sick, I'm a bit wary to come back.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

The food was amazing! In particular, I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle tower and their roasted chicken hash. I was surprised they didn't include a side of butter along with their biscuits, but I'll probably just ask for it next time. One important thing to note is that their dishes are HUGE. All 6 of us had our own dishes, but I would highly highly recommend ordering a couple dishes and sharing it family style if you're dining with a group. One note I did have about Hash House is how overstimulating the menu is lol. The menu had a lot of clashing fonts, colors, and clip art images, it made it hard to digest the menu. I didn't even notice some menu offerings because of how busy the menu was. Also, our waitress did initially charge us for 6 coffees, even though we only had 3. It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.

As if that wasn't enough, we walked in and realized it was trivia night, which immediately made the evening even better. While looking through the menu, I spotted a salmon bowl. I'm still pretty new to seafood and have recently discovered that I'm actually a big fan of raw salmon, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to branch out. Well... surprise! For some reason I had convinced myself it was going to be a poke-style bowl with raw salmon, avocado, cucumbers, and all the usual toppings. Instead, it came out with cooked salmon. Even though it wasn't what I expected, the bowl was actually delicious. The funny part is I learned something about myself... I definitely prefer raw salmon over cooked salmon. Not a bad discovery to make over a good meal! The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, trivia kept the energy up all night, and the service was friendly from start to finish. Great place to grab a drink, catch up with friends, and maybe even learn something new about your own taste buds.

And, the portion is so huge that I take most of it home and have the pancakes for breakfast the next several days. Enough about the pancakes. Let's talk about the service, which is what compelled me to write this review. A few months ago I sat down and my server, Erick, came up to my table and said, "Protein pancakes and decaf?" I was blown away! He remembered me and my order. I am not that regular a guest. He is just that amazing. And, it doesn't stop there. A few minutes after delivering my food, he brought a to-go box, because he knew I always take most of my meal with me, and I'm always in a hurry. That's not great service - that's extraordinary service! At one to two times a month, Erick makes me feel like a 5 day a week regular. I wish I could give Breakfast Republic 14 stars; 5 for having protein pancakes, 4 for their taste and 5 for the extraordinary service.
