Cafe 160 is on the expensive side, but for good local and sustainable food, it's within the average price range. Went back in and was treated to lunch, had the pesto chicken sandwich, and a kombucha on tap. Hit the spot. Adding a star...will see what my next visit brings... So I pay $11.30 for the southwest burrito with avocado ($8.99 plus avocado). Get back to work and what do you know...no avocado. The soups were straight from local San Diego company Decker Brothers which specializes in fresh soup daily. I absolutely love pretty much all their soups and the chicken tortilla here was no exception, really delicious. Good On Ya deli is a pretty decent spot to grab some good tasting lunch, I enjoyed my sandwich and soup here. The staff was friendly and they also allow you to order online if you're in a hurry to just grab your food and go. The people that work on or around Sky park court really have a jewel here. Good on ya deli makes some fantastic sandwiches! The kind that the moment you take your first bite you know you're in for a treat. The kind where you would talk to yourself with a mouthful of sandwich awesomeness saying "Oh damn this is good!" First visit I had the #5 turkey, sun dried tomatoes, cranberry sauce, provolone, red onion on sourdough. Everything tasted extremely fresh with all the flavors coming together nicely. Second visit was a huge acai bowl with some juicy sweet strawberries and blueberries. This I saved for later because I also ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, avo, and provolone. Again everything was very good. Have I said that it tasted fresh?! Let me reiterate the fresh part ;) Good on Ya is tucked away....tucked far away in a business complex and thanks to my Yelp friends I was able to find it. I'm feeling compelled to write this yelp review after an amazing experience with GoodOnYa. By amazing experience I mean in both food quality and customer service. THE ORDER. The living social app has recently added a new option called Take Out and Delivery. You mean I can make food arrive at my doorstep by tapping a few buttons on my iphone? No waiting on hold while some sassy adolescent takes his time getting to me? Yes please. GoodOnYa was one of the options available for delivery in my area. I ordered a house coffee (Hazelnut Brew) and two burritos: the Original Burrito and the Turkey & Black Bean Burrito. The delivery driver, Jackson, who I would later come to learn is also a manager there, arrived with a smile within the allotted amount of time. At this time I learned that mine was the first living social order that they had received, ever. Which is probably how they mistakenly forgot to include my coffee. No big deal, I had the important stuff. Yet Jackson insisted that he bring me the coffee the following day (since they were already closed for the day). He initiated contact the next day to follow up on my coffee. I elected to hold off, and include it in my next order. THE BURRITO. I knew I'd be ordering again. After just one bite, I had become obsessed with the GoodOnYa Original Burrito. Stuffed with fresh, organic ingredients, this burrito is not only tantalizing to your buds, but it sits light in your stomach and makes you feel good about what you just ate. Unlike the classic carne asada burrito from any Mexican place from here to, well, Mexico, eating the Original burrito leaves you feeling no regrets. Today I place another order with GoodOnYa using the living social app, this time my order included two Original Burritos (don't judge) and a little note to include my coffee. With no follow up (perhaps testing them?) I waited for my order. Jackson arrived, this time with the complete order. THE COFFEE. My Starbucks order is predictable and consistent, "Grande Iced Skinny Caramel Macchiato, upside down please," I always say. Its creamy, cool, and just a bit sweet. Then I pay between $4.05-$4.50 (I swear it changes by location). An hour ago I had my first sip of GoodOnYa's House coffee, black. Can you curse in these reviews? Holy Sh*t their Hazelnut Brew is amazing. Void of bitterness, this brew requires no doctoring; no sugar, no cream. It stands on its own and now I want one every morning. The 20z size is only $2.00 and a cup of black coffee has a fraction of the calories that my Starbucks drink contains. I feel like I've found a winner in GoodOnYa. I've only ever tried The Superfood, toasted (multigrain, turkey, sweet potato, spinach, avocado, mustard) because my default setting is always turkey avocado. I love me a good turkey avocado annnnd I am a person of habit annnnd I am a sucker for fanciful labels and descriptions and anything marked "organic." Every time I eagerly unwrap my sandwich, I experience the same reactions in the following order: 1) I suddenly remember that I ordered the same thing last time and make a mental note to try something else next time. 2) Why does this sandwich look somewhat humble and meager for $8? 3) After finishing the sandwich, I eat my earlier words, as I am completely, utterly stuffed. This little deli place is amazingly good. The food is really good and they are very selective on their ingredients and just like the names says it is "GoodOnYa". The staff is pretty good at remembering names. So if you become a regular they would call you by your name. I ordered the original Burrito and for some reason i was imagining a huge burrito and instead it came on a medium size. I didn't think that it was going to be fulfilling but i turned out to be wrong. Instead of eating a massive burrito i enjoyed a healthy medium size chicken burrito with fresh ingredients. The food can seem overpriced for the size of the meals but if you think about it you are getting fresh and organic ingredients. I go here on occasion when I get fed up with office coffee or breakfast. I normally get an everything bagel with cream cheese and bacon. For the coffee I get a blended frapp with an extra shot. Pretty standard. I do have to say their coffee is better than the other nearby deli's. I rate this a 4 because of price. For coffee and a fixed up bagel, you would expect to pay around $6 or so. Oh my gosh.. Why didn't I discover this place sooner?! Workers are nice, food is delicious, and I love the feel of the whole place. I usually just go for whatever they offer for their lunch special, which can range from $5-10. Really good sandwiches! I think they put unicorn fairy pixie magic dust in their mayo, since it tastes so amazing. You can just tell that they put careful attention into choosing fresh ingredients to put into their food. Really impressed. Oh, and their Wifi password is "GoodOnYa1" - I can sit here for a good two hours and just take my time eating and using their Wifi.. Best lunch break ever! It is located in a business building. There is a circular set up where you Order and Pay (like a mini food court). My friend and I shared a Sandwich #13 and #3, both came with a pickle. The price was decent at $7 a sandwich. Bring cash because they charge $0.50 for credit card use. Sandwich #3: Natural turkey, cranberry sauce, avocado, Swiss cheese, and tomatoes on Ciabatta bread. I forgot that a Ciabatta bread is a little tougher than most breads. But it was fresh and worked well with the sandwich so it was ok. It was a simple sandwich. I love the cranberry and turkey combination. I liked how they use low-fat mayonnaise but I think I deserved a little more avocado. But overall, this was delicious- Light and fresh. Sandwich #13: Chicken, avocado, Provolone cheese, spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato, and onion on multi-grain (grilled) I love that this sandwich was grilled which made the bread warm and crispy. Whenever we order from here, I try to order something different each time and so far have not been disappointed. I really like their salad options. Some of their salad dressings are home made. Ok, do not get me wrong, I LOVE this place, but lately I've had some inconsistencies that lead me to drop a star. Every time I order here I get a vastly different volume of food. I ordered a whole GF sandwich - I got basically 2 small sandwiches, because the bread is so tiny. Then, I got a half - I got basically a whole small sandwich. Next time I got a half, it was a half a small sandwich, which was 1/4 of what I got when I ordered the whole. It was actually 3 bites, and was $9 once I customized it. I wasn't happy about that. Twice my sandwich has been made wrong, once I had to get a refund, but it was a painless process. Eh, I really wanted to like this place because they seem like they support good causes and have a neat menu and website and all that. Plus it's very close to where I work. I ordered a breakfast burrito which comes with egg, black beans, salsa, cheese, and avocado. To be honest, I'm having trouble finishing it. The eggs are microwaved, which is kinda icky and the black beans have no type of seasoning, they're just plain black beans. There is only salsa and avocado on one side of my burrito too. I'm by no means a food nazi, but I feel like as a white-washed Asian who grew up in New England, if I can make a tasty burrito then anyone can. It's all about ingredient distribution, folks. So yeah, the burrito kinda sucks but I did also get a protein shake which is soymilk, hemp protein powder, banana, and peanut butter. It is quite tasty. What can I say other than, AMAZING! I stumbled onto this hip eatery when my work used Good On Ya for lunch catering. Move over typical office lunch sandwhich and chips - Good On Ya is taking over! Their delcious sandwhiches awoke me from my corporate routine and dull meeting because my taste buds were DANCING with joy. After inquiring about where this heavenly lunch spread came from, I made a point to check it out in person the next day for lunch...so hooray for this being so close to my work! While Good on Ya isn't somewhere I would stay and eat (a bit cramped for space and located within an industrial park)...it is ALWAYS worth the trip to pick up lunch (or have it delivered for large parties)... their menu is chock full of tempting sandwhich combinations and sintilating soups. I was craving something sweet but still wanted to be as "healthy" as possible so I yelped my nearest vegan dessert place.. Good On Ya popped up and it was about 2.5 miles away from work so I decided to give it a try. It was kind of hard to find in the midst of a business park, but after flagging down a few people I found the place. It was lunch time so I fully expected to wait about 15 minutes, which I did. The wait was worth it because I really enjoyed my chocolate almond butter tart. The chocolate was rich and dark, not sweet but not bitter either. The honey and almond butter added a smooth and creamy texture that satisfied my sweet tooth. This was a decadent dessert that I have no regrets about. As an enthusiastic advocator for our company to order lunch from GoodOnYa, I was sorely disappointed today. Prices have gone up by almost $4 a sandwich, and my turkey pesto sandwich had only 1 piece of turkey on it. Sadly, this makes ordering from GoodOnYa less desirable. For only $2 more, we can get a healthy portion of meats, potatoes, and a side salad from Tender Greens, also a company favorite. Sad to say it, but this may have been the last order from GoodOnYa. Customer service is always on point. I've had their Acai bowl every now and then, smoothies, coffee, lunch bowls - have not been disappointed. GoodOnYa is a pretty standard sandwich,salad and soup place with a flair for the organic. The shop on Skypark is as small as a postage stamp, so I usually order online and pick it up (that allows me to bypass the queue forming out the door -- instant satisfaction) and dash out. Their sandwiches are pretty good --- nothing particularly original or spectaular, but at the end of the day, how many sandwiches have really changed your life or altered the course of your destiny? It's just a sandwich for goodness sake! As long as the bread is fresh (it is), there's a decent selection of sandwiches (there are) and they're filling (medium filling -- I eat a lot so I usually need a side of soup or a mini sald to go with it), the sandwich should do the job of making you happy for about 15 minutes. Their soups are outsourced by some professional soup place. They are kind of hit and miss. $3 for a tiny cup of soup. The clam chowder was a little too thick and skimpy on the clams but I liked the Italian wedding soup a lot. (Very few places in San Diego know how to make clam chowder --- it truly is a hit or miss thing.) At least for my $6-8, I can custom order a sandwich and know that it will be ready when I get there. 50 cents extra on your tab if you pay by credit card. I haven't tried the smoothies, but I picked a blueberry smoothie for a friend and it looked tasty. They kept it in the freezer until I got there so it wouldn't melt too much. At the end of the day, GoodOnYa is an independent outfit that supports local wholesalers and suppliers. Come by for a tasty and healthy alternative to Subway. Solid 3 stars. They have extremely large (like 2+ portions) salads and sandwiches with a solid selection to choose from. Some tips: (1) Call ahead and this can be an in-and-out in 5 minutes deal, (2) ALWAYS get the dressing on the side, overdressed and soggy is an understatement, (3) the proteins for the salads are extremely disappointing (chicken/turkey)-not actually grilled but more like thick sliced lunch meat. I've tried this place several times over the last year, hoping I'd just had one or two bad experiences. Sadly, that has not been the case. On multiple occasions, my order was forgotten (while I was one of only a few customers in the place). This seemed to be an annoyingly recurring theme. Second, the prices are ridiculous. If I'm paying $10 for a sandwich, it had better be something special. I usually get a club, which is a fairly basic staple on most deli menus. Aside from the sandwich being a little too heavy on the mustard, it was bland and somewhat difficult to eat with the over-toasted sourdough. It didn't come with any sides, either, despite the price. So glad yelp featured this place. It caught my eye just as I was deleting the email and I went to pull it back out of the trash bin. I decided to go check this place out the next day after reading about where they source their food. I grow a lot of my own food and I really appreciate their use of local growers that are organic and non-GMO. I knew if I pre-ordered it would be faster but on the way into work I couldn't decide if I really wanted the California Breakfast burrito or something else. I showed up, ordered the burrito after all. Was told about 15-20 minute wait, which I already expected given the other reviews, and I believe I was out the door in about 18 minutes. So glad they were accurate about the estimated wait time too. Worth the wait, I'd say so. Worth the wait if it was closer to 30 minutes... maybe, but just not practical with needing to be at work, so I will call ahead next time for sure and keep a menu on me. I've already shared their site\menu with a few friends who are interested in tagging along for my next meal. Looks like I will also be transporting a few of their bars to friends who work\live in East County so they can try them out.
