    Pepperoni Pizza Pastry

I stopped by Cafe 33 on a Sunday morning with some friends after seeing reviews on Yelp. I had the Pepperoni Pizza Pastry and friends had croissant sandwiches. It wasn't super busy, but had a few other customers. The Pizza pastry was flaky and delicious. It came with a side of a spicy thousand island sauce. I wish it was a bit larger for the $10 price, but it had good flavor. My friends were pleased with their croissant sandwiches and we decided to return soon to try additional items. I saw that there is a chess set and games available to play, so that may be another thing that will draw us back. The Cafe serves Peet's coffee and tea as well. This place is definitely worth trying.

I had an amazing time at Cafe 33. The interior is gorgeous, the food and pastries we got were very unique and tasted good. The staff were also very friendly and helpful because there are so many items to choose from! My favorites were the biscoff cheesecake and the California croissant. I want to come back soon just to enjoy the ambiance & cool games I saw. Highly recommend!

Found this place on yelp while in the area for a a trip to the flea market. Being from out of town we were excited to try a new place. Our first impression was the coziness of the cafe. You can feel the holiday spirit. Board games for the families is a great way to bond and put down your screens. We saw a couple playing battleship (it was their first time eating there too). Another family was playing cards and we were about to start a game of chess but they called my name for our food!! Food was a 3.5/5 Ambiance was 5/5 Service was a 4/5

Had the chance to try this place out and I am so happy I did. I ordered the chorizo croissant and it was delightful! Picked jalapeno added a wonderful texture to the great flavor. Very filling. Over an hour later I was commenting how full I still felt. The place is very cute and inviting. Not at all what I expected when walking up. Staff was super nice. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're in a hurry. It's a nice place to go to slow down for a few and enjoy good food and coffee

This review is solely based off of a Door Dash order: My husband and I ordered the Salmon Sunrise Bagel, Sausage Sunrise Croissant with Tater Tots, a slice of Carrot Cake and 2 iced coffees - a Black Tie and a Havana Cappuccino. I opened up the container for the Salmon Sunrise Bagel and was extremely underwhelmed - it was a un-toasted plain Bagel with nothing on it but Salmon, cream cheese and capers. The description and picture on Door Dash looked NOTHING like what I received - it was supposed to be a toasted Everything Bagel with salmon, cream cheese, capers, tomatoes and onions. It was terrible and not worth the $9! My husband only took about 3 bites of his Sausage Sunrise Croissant before he tossed it and the Tater Tots were nothing special either. They also got one of the coffees wrong - we ordered a Black Tie coffee and we ended up receiving an iced Vanilla Latte. The Havana Cappuccino was decent and the Carrot Cake looked okay (we had yet to try it before this review). I can't comment on their service or ambiance since again, it was a Door Dash order, but I have no desire to visit their actual location based off the lack of effort they put into my order - just shows they don't care at all. Nowhere near worth the $50 I spent for a wasted meal - thanks for nothing!

Place is cozy, food was decent. I had the tri tip chimichurri sandwich and strawberry matcha latte. Service could use improvement.

I was there on a Sunday morning around 10ish. This place was half filled, somewhat quiet and cozy. They serve Peet's coffee drinks so I'll skip on reviewing the drinks. I got the California croissant and chicken w/ waffle. I'm big on croissant sandwich but I have to skip on this one next time. It was good but the waffle and chicken were BETTER! The Cali croissant was filled with avocado cheese, eggs and very few slices of bacon. It'll be better if the croissant is slightly more crispier. The waffle was amazing! Along with the chicken which was tender and juicy. It wasn't overcooked or too dry at all. It comes with a good amount of syrup! Yum!

Clean, well lit and comfortable with a family friendly atmosphere. The garden bagel was delicious with an egg on top. Delicious balance of fresh vegetables (tomato, onion, cucumber) that topped the cream cheese. The sweet Persian pastry reminded me of ones that my Bosnian grandmother made--light sugar syrup soaked filo pastry with a crunch of pistachios sprinkled on top. The pastry (while delicious) was a bit dry, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it with my espresso. A lovely spot for a quick brunch with efficient and fast service.

Came for some breakfast at this beautiful café as soon as you walk in it is super bright and inviting staff is super helpful and kind. They have a beautiful seating areas for you to choose from and the natural light really beats in so it's a perfect spot to get some work done study or really just enjoy the day. You can get some food, coffee, teas or even pastries which they do have cake slices and they are delicious

I love a tasty breakkie sando, and I especially love one that's on a buttery croissant. Just like magic, I discovered Cafe 33 in the Arden Area of Sacramento. It's an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall, that you'd easily drive past. Don't. You'll be missing out if you do. The interior is comfortably decorated, and I like that it's not a cookie cutter seating. Each table is different. The menu features a variety of delicious sounding items, and the croissant Sando's all sound really good! I ordered the loaded turkey. OMG! It was everything I wanted and then some. Freshly sliced turkey, crisp bacon, light fluffy scrambled eggs, tomato, avocado, and a house made aioli. I would have preferred regular mayo. I did need to add salt and pepper. It's a pretty generous serving, albeit a tad pricey, it's very filling. Cafe 33 also offers desserts. The case has a variety of yummy choices, and we of course had to try one. The cake slice was $5.00, WORTH IT! It's a really reasonable price, and a must try. We ordered the carrot cake. I like that it was nut free! Well, it was a pretty tasty offering, there's something about a more traditional carrot cake that has the raisins and pineapple in it that I really enjoy, and this missed that mark. Ordering is done at the counter, and you pick up your food from the counter, so they don't offer table service, and customer service is not fabulous. It is a great place to go on a date, with family or friends, and yes, even kids! If you have not tried this hidden treasure, you absolutely should if you love a good croissant, brekkie Sando!

My BF and I just had their loaded turkey croissant for breakfast and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. It had bacon, eggs, cheese, avocado, tomatoes all in a warm croissant. I will definitely be going here again. They have a cute and cozy dining area, clean place, good service and we maybe waited 15 minutes for our breakfast croissants. A must try! We will be going here again for sure and try more of their things. They also have coffee, lunch paninis and sandwiches.

Visited yesterday with high hopes after seeing all the glowing reviews, the place looked stunning! Unfortunately, things took a turn as soon as we stepped in. We were immediately hit with a strong "wet dog" smell. As dog owners ourselves, we love dogs and know what they smell like--especially on hot days--and we couldn't help but wonder why it was so noticeable indoors. That initial impression was disappointing. We noticed the kitchen door in the back was wide open, leading to an outdoor area. A very cute puppy was freely running in and out of the kitchen, where food is being prepared. Our first thought was: is this sanitary? We figured maybe the door would be closed soon. We totally understand how brutal Sacramento summers can be, and the need to manage heat and energy. But between the strong odor coming from outside and the dog running back and forth into the kitchen, it just wasn't an ideal situation. Keeping the door shut might have helped with both the smell and the heat. I ended up stepping outside while my partner ordered food to-go. We truly love supporting our local spots and want to see them succeed--but we also believe in leaving honest reviews. Maybe this was just an off day, but unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the hype.

    Great coffee from Peet's!
    Pedro S.

This breakfast focused cafe is small and quaint in the best way. The desserts are deadly-come with friends to share, or you'll just have to devour a slice all by yourself! Order eggs anyway you want, and you can add bacon or sausage and get guag and tomatoes on the side like I did. You can also get a very large croissant freshly made breakfast sandwich that's hard top. The service was friendly and informative from a truly patient professional. What a treat.

The meatball pan is my favorite the meatballs just does really well with the bread. Not going to lie, but I used to work here when they first opened in 2009 and I would never get tired of eating the meatball pan or the green tea melon pan during my break. After all these years, I would have a craving from time to time so I always return and say hello to the owner. Besides, they make a lovely goodie box for a party and I always throw in a bag of dinner rolls because the quality of their bread is so soft and delicious. I'll be lucky if I still have 1/4 of the bag by the time I get home.

I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.

I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Being an Ettore's customer for almost 10+ years, we found the service subpar.

I found this place online, liked what I saw, and so I came down for lunch. It's in a very large…read moreAsian, mini mall, which has things such as a shipping store, plenty of places to eat, a water store, a barbershop, things to buy, etc. It was a nice place. Large, very clean. All of the employees were friendly. It has a little bit of everything. It has a bakery, sandwiches, soups, stews, other items as well. They even serve an afternoon tea. I decided to go for the chicken and mushroom congee. (rice porridge.). I also got a green onion hotdog roll to take home with me. To drink, I had a green tea with lemon. The congee was amazing. A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. They definitely taste like a doughnut, except they are not sweet at all. They are savory donuts, and are perfect to use as a crouton, so to speak. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion. They had something mixed in, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste raw like green onion can. Just a great lunch. I'll be back. Thanks.

We've stopped in a few times now, usually on the weekend while walking through the city. I have…read moreheard Monday's are the day to visit though, because they offer sweet and savory biscuits (though you need to pre-order). It's a small shop and there's usually a line, but they move pretty quickly and it's nice to have time to decide what you're going to order. On my last visit we picked up a couple brownies, a cookie, and one of their savory corn muffins with bacon and jalapeno. All the items are prices well, and are very fresh. I loved the brownies, especially the one with nuts. They're the perfect fudgy texture and while they're a good size, it's hard to stop eating them once you start. I recommend stopping in early for the most variety, they're the type of spot that once they run out of something it's gone for the day, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious.

Came to Midtown Bakery for Biscuit Monday's! They a have bunch of little goodies, but if you're…read morehere for their biscuits, you have to preorder as pickup is from 7-9 am. My boyfriend and I finally had the time to come on a Monday (after the gym lol). We ordered a couple of items to try and I'll tell you I was full after a couple of bites and it carried me for the rest of day. We ordered jalapeño cheddar and classic sage sausage patty, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwich and biscuit 2 pack: blueberry and brown sugar biscuit. While picking up my boyfriend was recommended the cinnamon roll and he caved and got it! We had our pickup time at 7:30, but we showed up a little early and got our food around 7:20. There was a bit of a wait since there were some people ahead of us, so I'd recommend you going a bit earlier than your time just in case you're in a rush. We headed home to try everything. We really enjoyed the biscuits themselves as they didn't leave a dry or grainy feeling in your mouth. They had a good crust while being airy and light inside. The sandwiches were good, but they were anything crazy. Size wise it is small for the price you get, but I get it. It's all house made and fresh. We definitely think the biscuits themselves are the standout. The blueberry and brown sugar biscuits were a sweet tooth's heaven. The cinnamon roll wasn't too sweet either and had great texture and basically melted in your mouth. I never knew about midtown bakery before midtown biscuits so I would definitely come back to check out their other items, while getting those biscuits!

I initially parked closer to their kitchen, not realizing there was a main building but they're right across from each other. They have a few self-ordering kiosks, which I guess they prefer customers to use. It kind of seemed like the staff member didn't want to take my order, even though it wasn't busy at all. Their bakery items and brunch menu are on the higher end price-wise, but I think that also aligns with the market and location, so it makes sense. Since it was my first time there, I only ordered a couple of items to try. FOOD REVIEW Morning Bun - 5/5: My kids loved this. It reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, but in pastry form. This was so good. Almond Croissant - 5/5: The croissant itself was airy, super flaky, and really good. My kids also enjoyed this one. The pastries were packaged nicely as well. Overall, the pastries were good, so the price felt worth it to me.
