    Pork with preserved eggs congee

Cheerful and friendly staff. Tasty food served very quickly and you will be supported a local small restaurant. Perfect combination.

Order lunch from here. The food is pretty good. The fried pork chop was the best. It wasnt dry and the portion was good. The oxtail noodle was okay. The price is really reasonable for the amount of food. They also offer chinese tong shui that changes all the time. Cant wait to go back and try other things.

Curry fish ball, pork skin rice rolls, siu mai
    Roger H.

The siu mai here is absolutely phenomenal, a little pricey but it's pretty damn good. Curry rice rolls were okay, but honestly everything else I've had here has been pretty bad. This spot has a lot to offer, as far as variety, but it's really too hit or miss for me to safely pick and be satisfied with all the menu items here. Might be back but will need to do thorough research and pick stringently

After hunting down a legit HK Cafe spot. This one would be closest to the taste that I was looking for. Their curry fishballs, squid, and pork skin was good. A bit on the saltier side. Not sure if it's the salt that Bayside Restaurants are using but notice that majority of the spots I'd go to seem to be on the heavy handed in the sodium department. Not to mix with their recipes but I added some clear chicken broth and made some noodle soup with. Which was on point! Hitting that HK Curry spot for me. The Chicken over tomato rice seemed like a fusion of sorts where they fried the chicken with a bedded tomato sauce. If you hangry this will definitely fill you up! Overall, I have no complaints. Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Just ease up on zeee salt please!

Shau mai ( pork dim sum) $6

Pro: Not crowded in the morning. Comfortable seating. Friendly service Shau Mai ( pork dim sum) $6 was actually ok. Price is compatible to Chinese dim sum restaurants It sells congee and Chinese buns and pastries Con: Price is little high but it has no competition in that area except Tea station ( 3 min walk) which seems to be closed upon my last 2 visits. No ABC set breakfast. I ordered a plain soup macaroni $5, add spam $1.50, add egg $1, total $7.50 for spam and egg soup macaroni. Taste was ok. Conclusion: Tea station offers ABC set breakfast and seems to be better value. Food here is ok and I may return again.

This is a homey place for simple dishes, noodles, rice and Boba Tea. If you want Hong Kong style snack foods than plan a visit. They have Mango Pudding, Peach Gum jelly with snow lotus seeds and sliced thick white bread.

Fast food restaurant that has items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We went for dinner and had the curry chicken and the cheesy pork chop. They we both flavorful and yummy. The curry bento dish had chicken, eggplant and potatoes in it served with rice. The pork chop bento dish had red and green peppers, onions and the frozen mixed carrot and peas over rice. The dishes come in 2 sizes. Bento or entree. The one pictured was bento. There serve a variety of toast items that can be breakfast or lunch. They have hot and cold drinks. Hard to choose . The place has a few tables but not fancy. Large groups are not recommended if it's crowded.

Was very impressed with this restaurant! I had it to go and everything was delicious. My favorite was the chicken!

    Kalvin K.

Pretty decent cafeteria style Hong Kong cafe in Bayside. Honestly, didn't expect very much upon entering the store but definitely was pleasantly surprised about the outcome. The service was efficient and friendly. I ordered some Hong Kong Cantonese norms like curry beef brisket and salted fish and chicken fried rice. The black sesame dessert was excellent too. Highly recommended stopping by.

Authentic HK style cafe very close to where I live; nothing fancy but I still want to share with you guys because we should support small businesses. They don't have a lot of dine in tables so most people do take out. We ordered some signature dishes and they were all pretty good. Of course the quality was not close to the food that I had in Hong Kong but I still recommend this place if you are craving for some authentic HK style dishes. Chow fun noodles with beef Baked pork chop over rice Curry fish ball with pig skin Shrimp shumai Shrimp in tofu wrap HK style milk tea

    Tiffany C.

I was actually pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. There's always a sweet spot for me to have HK style fast food, but not many places do it well. I ordered the fried fish over baked spaghetti. The fried fish was really crispy and perfectly seasoned. The baked spaghetti tasted exactly like how I had it when I was younger. However I would recommend splitting this with someone, because after chowing through 3/4 of it, the acidity of the tomato sauce starts to overwhelm the taste buds. My party also ordered a variety of other dishes, and I tried all of theirs. I would say it's also pretty solid in terms of taste.

One week later, we returned to try the breakfast. For breakfast, we tried (1) combo E with pork chop; it is a good portion and comes with a hot coffee/tea; (2) mixed sauce rice roll, I like that it's cut side ways in half with bigger surface for sauce, but the sauce is a bit sour for me, won't order again; (3) pineapple bun with thick butter, have always wanted to try this somewhere and finally tried it, no regrets but may not order it regularly; (4) hot HK milk tea with half sugar, the hot version tastes a bit astringent (涩) to me. When we asked whether they had clay pot dishes, she twice told us to "look at the menu" with an attitude instead of helping us. The service throughout the meal was poor. Our children's plates were taken away in the beginning and we were not even given enough utensils. Staff members were also talking behind us in Cantonese, which made the experience very uncomfortable. The biggest issue was the bill. The restaurant added a "charge" that appeared to be an included tip or service charge, but nobody informed us about it. Since it was not clearly explained and they still asked for an additional tip, we unknowingly tipped twice. Only after getting home did we realize the total did not add up. They even charged us for take out box. When I returned to ask about it, the manager/owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, she questioned us, blamed us, and repeatedly motioned for me to stay quiet. She even wanted to check the camera to verify how much tip we left. At no point did anyone apologize for the misunderstanding or the poor customer service. I also felt that families with children were treated differently and unwelcome there. Customers should carefully review their bills before paying here. Charging an included gratuity without clearly informing customers, while also requesting an additional tip, is misleading and unacceptable. The overall attitude from management was arrogant, disrespectful, and completely lacking in professionalism. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this restaurant completely ruined that for us. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone.

The service was decent, but the food just didn't deliver. At dinner, the salt and pepper pork chops were thin, over-fried, dry, and lacked flavor. The BBQ duck was especially disappointing -- it tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. Overall, the dishes lacked seasoning, depth of flavor, and that smoky wok hei you expect from good Cantonese cooking. Lunch was slightly better, but still inconsistent. The congee itself was good, though the dried squid was so tough it felt like chewing on rubber. The steamed rice rolls with peanut sauce were another letdown; instead of being freshly steamed, the noodles seemed microwaved, making them firm and dry rather than soft and chewy. I also ordered a fish and tofu dish covered in brown sauce, but it was completely bland. I really wanted to like this place, especially after giving it multiple chances, but unfortunately the third time was not the charm.
