Just left this cafe! First time coming here and it's a cute little coffee shop. Customer service was great, the staff were so nice especially the young gentleman..I didn't get his name. He's cool. I got the cheese croissant and the Cortada it was delightful. There is PLENTY of open seating, Wi-Fi is fast, plenty of street parking. It's fairly quiet considering you're next to a busy street. Ugh I am so glad I checked out cafe/5 the perfect study / work cafe The coffee is great, and so well priced (americano is $3)! The space is quiet and spacious and I felt safe doing work here. This is the perfect spot to sit down, catch up w friends, or get some work done (they have wifi, a couple outlets, and great lighting!!) Great little coffee shop in the Jefferson Park area of Los Angeles. Walked there twice from our airbnb, which was (thankfully) only a half mile away. The coffee shop offers your typical coffee drinks (house blend, americano, cappuccino, latte) plus small breakfast bites like muffins and croissants. They do not serve traditional breakfast or lunch. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our experience with their house blend coffee; first time we tried it, we added almond milk and the milk separated, second time we just asked for cream and even though she just opened a new half-and-half, it still separated. We did enjoy the Spanish Latte, a cappuccino and the blueberry jam muffin. The Spanish Latte was so delicious; that hint of sweet milk and cinnamon was warm & comforting. I especially enjoyed the blueberry muffin. It was moist and decadent but also very light. Great with my cappuccino. I loved the layer of blueberry jam; very creative and it really gave the muffin an extra punch of blueberry flavor. The crumble topping was so good and I was happy that the muffin was on the bigger side because I took half home and enjoyed it the next morning. If I ever found myself back in this area, I would definitely go back to Cafe/5 for a cappuccino and a delicious muffin. Thank you! read more

Highly recommend. Great minimalistic and ambient space, perfect for sitting down with friends for a drink or getting some work done. Free wifi and outlets available and lots of seating. I got the almond milk latte, which was frothed very nicely as far as almond milk goes. Price is pretty good for LA (+0.75 for milk subs). Parking is street. Place is very covid safe; tables are distanced and baristas wear masks and sanitize as necessary. The area outside is a little bit on the sketchier side, so just be careful. Next time I will try either the cold brew or their house flavored lattes. Their pastries look pretty good too. read more

Great coffee shop for locals -- easy street parking the earlier you go. I had the iced matcha latte with almond milk and it was really good, the color of the matcha was strong and it didn't taste too powdery or watered down which I appreciated! It did have stronger caffeine though bc I felt the side effects afterwards; I am super sensitive to caffeine and felt jittery 1/2 way through my twelve ounce cup. I had the mango protein chia pudding and it was a nice morning snack. Theres plenty of indoor seating and the best part is that There's outlets!! Good place to come and catch up on work and meet a friend. The pastries looked fresh too. Great aesthetic! The cafe is just located in an area that doesn't seem the safest and at times there's homeless loitering around so just be sure to lock your cars and not put any valuable belongings in the car read more

I went for the first time earlier this week, and it was a pleasant surprise. It is not easy finding a spot that with the ambience and workspace like here. It is in a rather quiet neighborhood with easy street parking. Because it is connected to a design studio, the space was simple but organized and well designed. I enjoyed the lavender cream cold brew I had, and will be coming back to try the caramel and matcha cream cold brews. This coffee shop has plenty of space to work or study at and the music volume was perfect for people to concentrate on the work they had. They also have outlets along the wall and wifi which is really convenient as well. I personally like bright spaces with great lighting and this place was perfect in this area as well. The staff were very friendly and chill as well! Can't wait to go back. read more

Visited the cafe on a whim and I'm glad I did. Can't emphasize enough how much I adore minimal interiors that are done with taste. The entry way has a darker minimalist decor that opens up to the next room that is light and bright with plenty of plants around the room. It is a smaller cafe but when it's not busy it's a great place to get some work done. There is plenty of street parking available. The butterscotch latte is an acquired taste but I'm glad I tried it. When I lived in LA, I loooved Cafe/5. It's open and airy, which is perfect on sunny days :) There's also plenty of street parking (huge plus in LA). My only grievance is the lack of outlets unless you're able to get a high table by the wall. Their vanilla bean latte is creamy and sweet, and you can really taste the vanilla flavor. I stopped by this spot to try something new. I don't drink coffee so it was a risk to try a chai latte at a coffee shop, but it was worth a shot. I give this place a 4.5, short of the .5 star bc of the prices, seemed pretty high even for LA. But after hanging out in the spot and trying some of their food and bev I see that premium service charges premium price. Everyone from the staff I interacted with was very helpful and welcoming. I ordered the chai latte hot with oat milk, no almond was available. The chai seems to be home brewed, or at least not a pre made mix. It's spicy, not sweet so I added honey, and is very chai-y. Some people don't like that, I do! It was a bit too spicy for me, but I loved it! I was so excited by the pastry options offered at the counter I totally missed the fridge section - so I came back the next day. From the pastries I debated between a sage and cheese (I forget which kind, maybe Swiss?) or a "cherry bomb" muffin lookin thing. I went with the sweet option which was good but I after paying, I regretted not seeing the fridge stuff sooner. While the bomb was bomb, it was a lil too much custard for me. Would recommend to anyone that does love custard, and cherries. So when I came back the next day I went straight to the fridge, didn't even mess w a drink this time. All vegan! I got the mango lassi protein bowl and for a dessert for later, the "chia-misu." Just ate the sh&$ outta that lassi! So! Good! Dessert for breakfast, love that for myself. For the two cold items my total was $22 w a 10ish % tip. Seemed like a lot... I regret nothing. But prob won't be back, but mainly cuz it's not on my regular route. A cute ass spot in Jefferson Park! Great for studying or getting a bit of work done. Outlets are limited so if you're planning to spend a while here make sure to come with your electronics charged! Coffee prices are super reasonable ($3 for an iced americano) but also the coffee itself is nothing special. Tip: come early if you want to work! A friend and I came around 1:00pm and there were a few tables free still but by the later afternoon 3pm they were all occupied with people (including us) working on laptops (and one group of friends chatting). So I would definitely recommend trying to get there a lil earlier if this is your plan. Parking in the neighborhood is relatively easy. There's a cute boutique that occupies the next door space to the coffee shop but it's super expensive goods so didn't really buy anything lol. Friendly barista! I was greeted by a friendly Barista who made a great Dirty Chai. I picked up some fresh vegan açaí bowls for myself, and took a seat in the co-working space. There's many - too many reasons to hate this place, but I must admit they have great coffee, great staff and the vibe is solid. I've gone out of my way to give them my money on several occasions and I'm surprised/satisfied to see their standards are still in tact. The employees were friendly, and the restaurant has a clean, simple area to sit in and enjoy your coffee. The basic coffee was decent, but the Spanish Latte was amazing. If you like hints of cinnamon in your coffee, it's the way to go. The blueberry muffin was also delicious. The sitting area has an open air, swanky vibe to it.
