One of the worst coffee shop experiences I've ever had. The place itself was already disappointing when I walked in. The interior felt beat-up and cluttered, more like a store selling old vintage furniture and random junk than a coffee shop. But the real problem started when I ordered a latte. The milk tasted extremely sour. I politely told the man working there that the milk tasted sour and asked if he could make me another coffee. I also asked to see the milk carton because I wanted to make sure the milk wasn't expired. Instead of simply showing me the carton or replacing my drink, he became incredibly aggressive. He started yelling at me and cursing in Korean. I was there with a Korean-speaking friend who understood what he was saying. According to her, he was telling his wife in Korean to take away the carton of milk and also to delete the camera footage. He then continued yelling and told me to get out. I couldn't believe the reaction. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable or trying to cause a problem. I simply wanted to know whether the milk was expired and have my latte remade because it tasted sour. Serving a customer sour-tasting milk is bad enough. But then refusing to show the milk carton, telling someone to take it away, telling someone to delete the camera footage, and responding to a simple complaint by yelling and cursing made the experience far worse. There are far too many good coffee shops in Los Angeles to tolerate this kind of treatment. I would never return, and based on my experience, I absolutely cannot recommend this place. read more

I liked how it came with real banana chunks + it seemed to have a decent amount of caffeine from how productive I was able to be lol AMBIENCE/SERVICE The service was great - they even bring out your items to your table. I came here to work and chose the place because of the amount of seating inside. I was not disappointed as I found a seat immediately and connected to wifi quickly. It was a little hot inside but may be just my personal preference. Overall, this spot is clean, had calming jazz music playing (not too loud), and was a great spot for people who came for a chat as well as for people like me who had a laptop and came to get stuff done. Surprised I haven't written a review of this place. This is about my 3rd time here in the past couple of years. Place is quiet and perfect for getting work done, reading, etc. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The barista I had yesterday was very friendly. I ended up with a dark roast Brazil pour over and a sage and cheddar croissant. The croissant was really savory and strong in flavor. It got a bit greasy halfway through it but I know that's the bakery issue and not the coffee shop. The pour over coffee had a nice, bold and subtle kick to it that I liked. The only thing I disliked is that they provide you with the Land o Lakes half and half creamer packs. I prefer that if I'm going to use dairy creamer it's a better quality. I'll still be back but maybe will just order a mixed coffee drink or use an alternative milk option. read more

This place is located on the corner on the bottom floor of a living quarter. There is plenty of free street parking, just pay attention to the street signs. This shop is very quiet with people working/studying on their laptops. I ordered an iced matcha latte with a cream top and it was quite delicious. I wanted to try a new coffee shop, and this was right by my friends place so we decided to check it out. First thing I noticed on the menu was a photo from Squid Games (the main character holding the cookie from one of the challenges). The cookie from the show is a Korean cookie called Dalgona, and they make them handmade at this cafe. Their signature drinks have crumbled Dalgona on top of the drinks which I thought was so cool. The cookie gives it a bittersweet taste, and melts into the coffee which tasted amazing. I got the Vanilla Iced Latte with the Dalgona on top. Trying to find coffee shop in the area to make a stop and spend some time on my laptop, then finding History Coffee on Yelp with pretty high rating and great reviews. Parking was kinda tricky as expected around this area, but managed to find one of the last spots available. The couples serving that time were extremely friendly and helpful and I loved how their menu offered some peculiar options like their signature Banana Latte I went for, which seemed to be the most favorite one. Plenty of seats with power outlets and I could see not few of the guests did come to work, so you could expect the ambiance was pretty focus time friendly. They did offer some pastries and Chia Puddings but not heavier meals. My drink, which was only available in iced, turned out awesome. They even had small banana chunks on top. It was refreshing, not overly sweet, and the banana flavor surely didn't overpower the pretty bold coffee and even complemented it very well. Would recommend! read more

I like the layout because there's ample natural light and lots of seating options. They also have a lil patio and hella plugs inside for work sessions or meetings. I got the Matcha Dalgona Latte and it was just okay. To drink it the best, you have to mix the Dalgona with the drink and wait for the Dalgona to infuse in the matcha to sweeten it since the matcha is a bit bitter. I found the mix of the matcha and Dalgona flavors to be unique and I'm not really used to that mix of flavors. The service here is good too, the staff were kind when I was ordering and directed me to a table and cleaned it off when I mentioned to my friend I wanted a table with outlets. Overall, this is a solid cafe to go work/study at. There's limited seating places and outlets, so I would plan for that. There is only street parking for this cafe I believe. read more

I had a great experience the first time I came to this coffee shop. The WiFi worked well, my matcha was good, and I found metered parking. This second time I went it was also great! I ordered a banana latte for the road and was honestly surprised at how yummy it was. The banana chunks made me love it. It took them about 5 minutes to give me my drink, so the wait wasn't terrible. Cute little cafe. Ordered a hibiscus iced tea and a black sesame croissant filled with cream cheese jalapeno. Iced tea was good, sweetener was self added so I could adjust to my taste. The black sesame croissant was delicious! I loved that the filling had a whipped cream cheese texture as opposed to just a lob of cream. I love that they also open later compared to most cafes, so this is a great spot if you want to work remotely. The AC is great inside, and the interior is pretty modern. Wifi is also good. Only con for me is the limited amount of eletrical plugs, you'll have to fight if you want one. RACIST! UNSAFE TO STAY IF YOU'RE BIPOC! (I think white and Asian people are the only ones who are safe here.) I found this place for my friend and me to meet. It was the first time she and I were patronizing this place. When I walked in, I immediately noticed that the clientele consisted only of Asian and white people. When I found my friend, an African American woman, I could tell something was up. Sure enough, she told me how the proprietor, an Asian man, refused to let her blend two teas into one, and instead made her buy two cups for each tea bag, naturally charging her for both teas. We dismissed it as a mom-and-pop place that needed the money. Then, after 5 minutes of talking fairly quietly because we were discussing personal things, the man came up to our table to tell us we were being too loud! And, while I'm not Black, I sure as heck know what he was really saying and the racist undercurrent. Especially because my friend rebutted the proprietor by recounting a call an Asian guy next to our table had before I arrived, where he was basically yelling into his phone -- to which they did nothing about! To save my friend from any more of that kind of racist crap, I told the man we're leaving, and he wouldn't be getting my business (I hadn't ordered yet). The man refunded my friend for her TWO teas, and we left. I guess you have to at least give it to him for being a racist with integrity. Moral of the story: don't patronize this business in solidarity and/or because it's unsafe for you to stay. read more

My new favorite coffee spot! I've been here three times in a row already and I'm obsessed! I've mostly gotten their matcha but I did once try just an iced latte w vanilla and it was really good! I'm not big on caffeine but it was surprisingly good and didn't leave me jittery. The service is always so friendly. They immediately greet you as you walk and it's so welcoming.
