I absolutely love their grilled pork Banh Mi. The baguette boasts a wonderfully crispy, crunchy crust while staying soft inside. The house-made spreads and sauces are expertly balanced, complementing the savory grilled pork harmoniously without being overpowering. Another highlight is their pho: diners can pick grilled beef instead of rare raw beef, making this noodle soup an excellent pick for people who dislike uncooked beef slices. Overall a satisfying Vietnamese food spot.

First off, the parking situation in this lot is terrible and confusing. Yes, there is a private lot, but half the spots are reserved for a business until a certain hour and the free spots are very narrow. I wasn't sure how strict they were on patrolling but was surprised some of the spots were reserved so late (later than the businesses were actually open). Onto the restaurant...the restaurant is teeny and not meant for a group. I ordered the egg rolls and the pho special. The egg roll were pretty standard, nothing special. The pho portion was ok, but the broth was a little too sweet for my liking. Also, the pieces of brisket in my pho were tender but also really fatty and could have been trimmed. I'm glad there was a Vietnamese option in Kirkland, but I'd rather drive to Seattle or Renton to get something better.

Phenomenal service! It's hard to find good service nowadays and this place exceeds expectations. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. They will refill your water without asking. They answer any questions kindly. Service is also very quick and efficient as this team works hard and works well together! Cafe 79 Vietnamese Kitchen is tucked away near the thirsty hop and a nail salon. Plenty of easy free parking in the small lot. The restaurant is small but inviting with a bright interior. I look forward to trying more of the menu like the appetizers and banh mi sandwiches but for my first visit I decided to give the Beef Pho a try. I ordered a large beef pho which was super delicious with a flavorful broth, perfect noodles, and plenty of beef. Definitely some great pho! I will definitely return and would recommend :)

Cafe 79 is easily one of my favorite Vietnamese spots on the Eastside! It's a cozy, independent little gem that I've been back to a few times now, and it never misses. Because it's a smaller, intimate space with a limited number of tables, it can fill up fast. I definitely recommend trying to get here on the early side. There is a dedicated parking lot right outside, though spaces are a bit limited. My absolute go-to dish here is the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl. The chicken is incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and they are so generous with the fresh veggies. When you mix it all together with the sauce, the flavors tie together perfectly. It's light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm summer day. If you're looking for an authentic, fresh, and wonderful local spot, this is it!

Cafe 79 is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the East Seattle area. There are a few parking spaces in front of and around the area but they can be crowded usually. There is also an outdoor shopping mall with a large parking lot across the street so you can also park there if a short walk is acceptable. The restaurant is small and cozy with a few small tables. I think most of the servers are Vietnamese and they are all friendly and happy to explain the menu if you are not familiar with Vietnamese food. They have a variety of options ranging from the classic Pho, vermicelli to sandwiches. Our favorites are the Nha Trang roll for appetizers, Bun Bo Hue, and Bo Ne. The Nha Trang roll is delicious with a mixed of different flavors. It also pairs well with the peanut sauce. I recommend adding a bit of chili paste to the sauce if you like it a but spicy. Their Bun Bo Hue is cooked in a unique way from Da Nang, a city in Vietnam, that I cannot find it anywhere else in Seattle yet. And Bo Ne is one of the signature dishes in Vietnam that is a variant of beef steaks. Cafe 79 is a decent restaurant that I highly recommend it if you live on the Eastside and want to try Vietnamese food differently and don't want to drive very far north or south.

There's not many Vietnamese restaurants on the east side, so this was a nice discovery! The cafe is pretty small, but full customers ( which is a great sign). My parents and I waited around 15 minutes, and were notified once a table was ready. We ordered three dishes, which were all tasty and filling. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the pork was in the banh mi- it was a little sweeter than I'd like, but delicious nonetheless. I didn't feel like I was eating too much bread or meat, so the bread/filling ratio felt perfect. I also tried some of the pho broth and pork chop, and I found the pork chop to be a little tough, but flavorful. Overall, it was a great meal with excellent service, and I'm pretty satisfied with the experience.

It's a quaint lil cafe. Parking can be difficult as it's a small lot. Staff was friendly and quick. We enjoyed the shrimp spring roll and the Bo Ne Nha Trang.

Had some lunch delivered the Beef Strew (Bo Kho) and the N.1 Pork (vermicelli salad aka bun). The beef stew reminded me of Little Saigon in Chinatown minus the daikon, Good Beef with carrots, flavorful broth tastes like star anise, lemongrass, garlic and a touch of fish sauce. It's so delicious and a great lunch. Had the salad for dinner. Good pork and tasty sauce over crispy lettuce and vermicelli noodles. Hints of cilantro, pickled carrots, peanut, fish sauce, and some tasty cucumber and green onion. It was also very good! I also appreciate the chopsticks and spoon. Well done!

So glad to found a good Vietnamese restaurant in Kirkland as most of good places are in Seattle! This gem is tucked away in a small shopping plaza with parking. The service was quick and it was clean inside. I tried their Pho Special which is a marinated beef brisket, slow cooked. The brisket was super tender and a slightly sweeter broth than traditional pho. Would definitely eat this again when I crave pho with a little twist.

I was randomly in the area and found this Vietnamese place with solid ratings. I needed to try this place out and I needed to find more Vietnamese options closer to the Redmond/Sammamish area. And I needed something to take back to my in-laws' place. We had just OD'ed on beef the night before and we needed a break from the leftovers. The chicken and pork bánh mì's were solid. The bread was first rate and the pickled vegetables were both flavorful and full of texture (aka full of crunch). My wife, her father, and I preferred the pork over the chicken. I will eventually want to try the pho.

Great, awesome food and a nice, steady stream of people coming in throughout our visit to boot! This place was one on my bestie's sis's to-try list so I decided to take us there on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. I would try to come early here or after 8pm because parking is ridiculously hard to find around the times before; nearly all spots we saw were reserved for specific businesses around the plaza where this restaurant is located. We got lucky and snagged one of two observable spots in front of the place. Speaking of, you're looking at a very modern, brightly lit and casual interior with an ample number of tables to sit in though there aren't many to begin with. The kitchen is up at the front counter, and restrooms are located around a hallway to the left of the kitchen itself. We got seated to a nearly empty restaurant that quickly but nearly became a full house after spending around 50 minutes inside. Service throughout was top notch, with our servers making sure our food was all right, and answering my friend's questions regarding extra add-ons for their rice dishes. For this visit I got their bo ne nha trang, the quintessential Vietnamese brunch dish as advertised on their menu. Veggies and the really warm baguette both came first on their own plates, and the meats - NY steak and meatball - and fried egg came on a skillet about 10 minutes after. Steak came sizzling hot on the pan and was medium-rare inside the moment I started cutting into it. Both meats are tender enough to chew along with the very crispy baguette, and you can add in chili sauce as that's provided on the table along with hoisin sauce for pho. Meat flavoring was ever-so-slightly lacking but it was great putting everything together and even using some of that same flavoring on the pan for the last of my bread as a dipping sauce. This place does it different in that the veggies aren't on the sizzling pan unlike several other places I've had bo ne at. My friend got their pan fried pork chop on fried rice. He enjoyed the pork chops though I didn't get a taste of them. Fried rice is standard but not overly salty which makes it a passable palette cleanser. Drive is far from where I'm at and I'm not sure how there's so many people coming in here to eat despite seeing two parking spots reserved for this place right in front of the entrance. I'd still come back again just to have their food, though! And it's great that I have another location to recommend for bo ne.

I ordered a small beef pho and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The food came out fast and tasted solid. The coffee had more ice than I expected but it was still good. Quick, reliable spot.

This was on a Friday at 6pm and we came to a very empty parking lot until you try parking closer to the many businesses located along the Bella Bottega Shopping Center where this gem is located. Inside is very casual with a ton of tables that can seat various group sizes, and my friend and I got a seat closest to the register. Menu has typical items for a Vietnamese restaurant like pho, banh mi sandwiches, bun, rice dishes and vegetarian options. There was actually a lot of stuff so I was slightly overwhelmed. I got their large phở tái bò viên, which is pho with medium rare beef and meatballs. Note that there is only a $1 difference before tax between the medium- and large-size pho, and I saw the medium bowls being much smaller than the large one I got, so it's worth getting the larger one! Broth is warm, aromatic and comforting with the right amount of everything, and the meats inside gave it more depth. The noodles kept together easily in my bowl and did not break apart easily when picking them up with my chopsticks. I also asked for extra beef, which is $4 more; this was put inside my pho instead of being served raw on a separate plate like i've seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. My friend got their Yummy Noodles house special bun with chicken, and he loved it a lot! It was served in the same bowl size as the large pho I got, hence he couldn't finish what was in front of him entirely. This was on a Friday night at almost 6pm and my friend and I came in to a nearly empty interior that filled up throughout our stay. Is it just dinnertime that time or were my friend and I bringing in the crowds? You'll enjoy a very clean and well-kept restaurant with clean tables and chairs, with lighting that's very little but lights up the whole place well. Menu has a lot of offerings (both regular and vegetarian) but since it's dinnertime I decided on a rice dish as usual. I got their beef short ribs rice dish, which has their usual marinated short ribs with a fried egg and veggies. I actually liked how they offered their rice in a separate bowl, and everything else on one plate... which means the meat almost covered my whole plate! By the way, my friend got their grilled pork chop rice dish, and the meat also almost completely covered his plate. Both our meats were marinated so well and held in so much flavor, and came off their bones easily. We both agreed the grilled beef short rib dish I ordered was the winner because of the bolder and more defined marinated taste of the meat. I've tried so many Vietnamese restaurants and almost exclusively get their beef short ribs rice on the first visits of them, but this is the first time I've seen meat portions this huge for a rice dish. I'm thinking of coming back here for another visit even if I have to deal with the tight parking plaza this place is close to.

Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. The lady that helped us was super friendly and helped us right away as we came in. Let's start with the #14! The pho broth was pretty darn amazing! They nailed the broth flavor! I didn't need to add any hoisin sauce or anything to it, it tasted perfect! The broth was delightful and it hit the spot. They did not cheap out on the protein which I appreciated! (Rare Beef, Brisket, Well-Done Flank, Tendon & Tripe). This might be the best Pho in WA! Next is #16, the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy lemongrass beef soup). It was very flavorful, a little bit on the sweeter side, had a lot of meet, including oxtail, meatballs, and tendon. The meet to noodle ratio was great, and the soup base was not really spicy. The only thing missing from the traditional bun Bo hue is the pork blood and the banana leaves vegetables. But other than that, it was really good. Leaving this place, we felt fulfilled and satisfied! Definitely coming back here again to try their other dishes. I highly recommend coming here to if you want really tasteful soup and great service!

I ordered a small beef pho with meatballs only. The beef pho came with plenty of meatballs, just what I wanted! The broth was delicious, not too salty , warm and comforting. The meatballs were also good as well. I don't like when there is too much tendon in my meatballs, and there was minimal tendon. The pho was quick and delicious, perfect for a quick lunch. As well as affordable! The small bowl wqs $12.50.
