Upon walking into this restaurant, you felt you were at a five star restaurant. The staff greeted you with such care. As we walked to the table, you can watch the students cooking in the kitchen. Such care as they found in the best seat in the restaurant. The waitress greeted us with smiles. She listened to every dietary need that we had, to be on point she actually listened to what we had to say. In my opinion, this is very rare in this industry. She asked if we wanted a house special cocktail. The cocktail wasn't only tasty. It also tasted so delicious. We ordered the guacamole and the homemade chips that are made in house. They brought out the complementary homemade butter and rolls. Which are both made in the morning fresh We put our order in. The food was amazing such care in the preparation. And of course, who wouldn't order dessert on their birthday. The apple crumble was over top. Came warm with two spoons. They delivered a platter with the words, happy birthday in dark chocolate. The gourmet-like tortilla chips, hand-made avocado dip, and hand-cut fries were equally impressive, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using only the finest, freshest ingredients--CalPoly grown from the Micro Farm that is in the backyard of the restaurant and Spadra. Then came the best part of the entire meal - my hazelnut latte. The coffee was good and the cup is gigantic. My teen had the french toast, eggs (scrambled), and bacon plate. The one slice of french toast was okay but nothing special. The eggs were bland and lacking any seasoning including salt and pepper. The bacon, of which I got a side for myself, too, was absolutely disgusting. At first I thought the bacon had been cooked possibly on a dirty grill in old grease or right after something else had been cooked, as it had a horrendous aftertaste like rotten meat and sweaty gym socks. They made a new plate but this one was raw, despite being ordered well done and crispy. Raw. And it absolutely stunk. That was when I came to think it might be uncured pork belly like you get a Korean KBBQ and not bacon at all. Luckily they cancelled the order. I also got a side of the breakfast (rosemary) potatoes, which I also ordered crispy and well done but arrived as a scoop of mush. They tasted okay but I saw crispy potatoes at numerous other tables. Don't know why they couldn't cook as ordered. I also had the dutch baby. I'm sorry but this is a dessert bread pudding and not a real dutch baby pancake. The inside should be airy and fluffy, not sopping wet. I'm not sure if the inside was undercooked and possibly raw dough or if they make it with some sweetened cream inside. It was not good, and it was way too sweet. Instant diabetes sweet. I will never go back. I strongly recommend that all people stay as far away as possible. The service was good - friendly and attentive, but what good is that when the food is so awful? I also had severe stabbing pains in my stomach for a couple hours after getting home. After months of planning, I was naturally nervous, but Bill made the whole process so much easier. He was incredibly accommodating, patient with all of my questions, and always willing to work with me to make sure every detail came together. Most importantly, he was true to his word. Everything we discussed beforehand was delivered exactly as promised, which gave me so much peace of mind. The staff was just as amazing. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was having a great time. They kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes so I could relax and enjoy such a special evening with my family and friends. The venue itself was beautiful, clean, and created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the space, the service, and how well everything was organized. During one of my visits, a character mascot came out and gave away some free teas (like tea leaves in the bottom, just add water) There is an additional part that I'd like to include, and if I could give this place 10 stars I would. One night, I unfortunately left my wallet here when I left around late 11PM. Upon realising, I called and a very kind man working in the kitchen helped me look for it, finding it in the outside trash can with all my cash gone.
