The host was very friendly and explained that once we were ready to order, we could head to the register in the back. After placing our order for a group of four, our drinks arrived within just a few minutes. They looked exactly like the menu descriptions and tasted just as good. The food was fresh, hot, and clearly made with quality ingredients. We all especially loved the tomato soup. We also ordered a waffle to share as an appetizer, and it came topped with large, beautiful strawberries that tasted amazing. The portion size was generous. I ordered the Fresh Mozzarella sandwich on ciabatta bread and asked for it toasted, and it was phenomenal. I did not have very high expectations since this was a quick, last minute choice and we did not even check reviews beforehand, but I am so glad we gave it a try. The problem came when the lady would brought the last food item the GF item and she said hey are we missing anything and I said yes my cortado and friend who ordered 10 min before we did so half and hour ago said she never got her hot coco. She was Super polite and brought them pretty quickly . We said thanks for finding them for us and she lectured us on how busy they are etc etc and were like WHOA THERE we did not complain although my friend could have as he drink came after she had eaten and 30 min after she ordered and yet we never complained. My complaint is with this staff members attitude, and I "assume" it came from dealing with folks expecting the food or drinks to all come out at same time and thats not how these types of places work. WE GET THAT and again it would have been a 5 had we not been lectured after thanking her for hunting down our drinks ;-) Will I be back SURE the food was great

I used to live in Belmont for 4 years when I worked for Oracle. I frequented this place many times for lunch while it was under their old owner. The was pretty good... I can say it beats Oracle food anyday... While visiting my old co-workers, they informed me that Cafe Bliss is under new ownership and they suggested we grab some grub there. I was a little sad, but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It's a lot cleaner now and they have new items on the menu! Me being the stubborn nostalgiac type I ordered the Bliss Burger and proposed to half it with my friend who ordered the Cherry-wood bacon cheeseburger. Wow, both tasted amazing. My other co-workers ordered the cornflake crusted french toast and the other ordered some kind of salad with goat cheese... BTW, i love goat cheese. *echo* Wow, both tasted amazing. Everything on their menu sounded so good. I drooled while reading. I guess I might have to go grab lunch with my old-coworkers more often now! :) I suggest this place to anyone who wants a tasty lunch with a slight twist from the norm. read more

The food is wonderful here! I've lived in this area for 5 years and I'm glad to have found this place. My family tried a couple of different dished from their regular dinner menu and their Autumn menu! Yes they have a seasonal menu! So city like - I LOVE IT! We tried the steamed mussels (the wifey really enjoyed), Garlic Herb Fries with Sun-Dried Tomato Aoli (the kids devoured), saffron butternut squash soup (YUMMY!~), Rigatoni Baked Mac and Cheese (kids fave), Skirt Steak and the Miso Salmon. The place is spacious and when my family went there were only a couple of other small parties. It seems like a nice and quiet place to enjoy good food amongst good friends and family. I first came to Cafe Bliss around a year ago for brunch after running in nearby Hallmark Park. The nice and simple interior and exterior design immediately got my like, especially the nostalgic photographs hanging on the wall. This time I ordered "Morning Bliss Breakfast." The food wasn't exceptionally good: two pieces of French toasts, two slices of bacon, pan fried potatoes and scrambled eggs, and I wish they put some green vegetables or red tomatoes on the plate. Had an awesome Mother's Day Brunch! Came here with the family, 6 of us, and had our fill from their special Mother's Day specials menu. They first gave my mom a complimentary glass of champagne in honor of mother's day, which was charming! I had the Berry Pancakes (they use fresh berries) tart and sweet gooiness sooo good. My sister had the Quiche, which was deliciously light and filling and fresh out of the oven. My husband had the Bliss Breakfast Wrap/Burrito, I stole a couple bites :) Then we finished everything off with cappuccino's and pies (1 peach and 1 berry). It was super crowded for brunch on Saturday from 10 to 11 am. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, another 30 minutes to order, and over 40 minutes for our food. So over an hour just to eat. The food wasn't great and definitely not worth $30 each after tax and tips. I saw a lot of people complaining about the long waits too. Not sure why this place has such high ratings. I had the ribeye sandwich on sourdough roll, which had been on my radar for a while, with horseradish aioli. I added sprouts, red onions and tomatoes. This sandwich was big but not obscenely large like many sandwich joints. The horseradish aioli was a perfect touch and all the ingredients were super fresh resulting in a harmonious bouquet of flavors- the healthy kind. I like the use of Romain lettuce. It holds up better between rolls. My mom enjoyed her cold veggie sandwich with the works. She would have another next time! What separates this sandwich place from others? Their menu focuses on quality not quantity. So there's not a mass selection of sandwiches, but there is just enough to satiate anyone's craving while maintaining the fresh choices of bread available (Sourdough, Dutch Crunch and Demi Baguette) and quality proteins. The meats offered are of higher quality than most sandwiches also. I see oven roasted turkey and organic chicken available also, and if you want to be bad, add bacon! lol I will go that direction next time. The ribeye was perfect though. You can also sign up and get points towards future purchases. I signed up today, bought two sandwiches and got 46 points.
