Multiple times we order for our parties, and they have told us one price on the phone, but when we get there, they charge us another price. This time when we came to pick up our order, they once again wanted a different amount then the one we were given over the phone when we ordered. We spoke to someone named Soni, and she is supposedly the owner, and she told us that she does not care what we were told on the phone, but that we have to pay the price that she said we have to pay. I enjoyed going here many times, but the last two times the meat was overcooked and had too many blackened areas on it. The restaurant was also a little dirty, and the bathroom was dirty. I started coming to this place when it first opened, and they've been friendly and have provided the *most* mouthwatering, delicious food at very reasonable prices since their opening! I can't say enough good things - you should just go there and try it for yourself. Make sure to leave yourself a little time - they cook the marinated meat fresh, and it is well worth the wait!!! (You should spring for the cornish game hen sometime - it will melt in your mouth...) The yoghurt and spinach side is definitely a star player on the menu - but then everything is. I used to go to this place every week when we lived in this area. The food was so good, but not anymore. It's very disappointing to see the place ruined. God, my food was so bad, the garlic spread was so bitter, and the tabule was awful. Also, my grilled pepper had no flavor. I think they buy their produce from the 99 cent store. My new addiction - shish kabobs from Cafe Bravo. My friend and I sometimes passed by this place without realizing this hidden gem is an Armenian/Middle Eastern shish kabob eatery. I thought it was some hole in the wall cafe that serves American bistro food. Who am I kidding? It's in Glendale and this town is filled with Armenian/Middle Eastern establishments. One day, Cafe Bravo caught our eye when it will packed with people waiting outside. We were curious what's so good about this place. We did eventually google Cafe Bravo and found out they serve shish kabobs and checked out Yelp for reviews. Good and high reviews means we'll be visiting there very soon. In less than 2 weeks finding out about Cafe Bravo, we've already visited there 3 times! Here's our favorite dishes: Beef Kabob, Beef Shawarma and Beef Lule Kabob plates. It comes with salad or rice (no rice for us, we're carb conscious), 2 side dishes and a pita bread (no pita for us either). For our 2 sides, it's always with yogurt spinach and tabbouleh. The meats were cooked to perfection with enough spices, seasoning that makes you want to do the dougie. Yes, it's that good. Last time we tried the Chicken and Chicken Lule Kabob. It wasn't as great so we're sticking to the beef dishes. Not only is this hole in the wall eatery that serves the BEST kabobs, it's also easy on your wallet. The most expensive plate is $8.50. I LOVE LOVE the beef kebabs here. They must get quality meat or doused it in meat tenderizer. Either way, the steak pieces are super tender, juicy, and just delicious. Note that you can get half salad, half rice instead of having to pick between one or the other, which is great for someone like me who's super indecisive and want to try everything. They don't exactly have a lot, but I can usually find street parking around. Oh yeah, the portions here are huge. The more the merrier! read more

Not surprisingly, the place attracts both diners and takeout customers and can be extremely busy during lunch and dinner. On a busy Saturday night we were pretty forgiving for waiting 15 minutes because of large orders as well as to-go orders. However, the wait lasted over 30 minutes for our food! They were putting in-house orders after to-go orders. No apology offered at all. We tried getting the attention of those behind the counter to no avail. Is it worth $6-8 a meal to wait more than 15 minutes? I think not. I'll take my business someplace else. With all that time, we could've gone to a sit-down restaurant. read more

Well, actually I was a little hesitant that this place wouldn't be up to par to what I wanted, but little did I know I would eat here at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and would be craving for more 4 hours later! This place offers a nice variety of meats and side dish options (you get 2 with your plates). During this visit I ordered the Lule kabob plate with hummas and the mint/parsley salad for my sides. The lule was very flavorful and moist which was placed over a bed of rice which was perfect. Each plate comes with a pita as well. For $6.00 this is not bad at all. The second we opened our car doors, we can smell the great food from Cafe Bravo. Located conveniently on Glen oaks, this place is a neighborhood gem. Price is soo affordable and service is fast. We got our selves two combination plates (chicken and lamb) plus a Greek Salad. If you decide to dine-in the food is brought to you on foam plates, don't worry the meat is not so hot that it is melting the foam. At this point looking at the food I am a bit skeptical and some what regretting not turning around and going to KFC next door. When I cut into that meat, my mouth started salivating like me waiting in a buffet line in Vegas. The meat was PERFECTLY cooked! The juice was streaming out, steam was pumping out and the aroma was... amazing. Tasting it was even better. There was so much flavor! The flavor of the meat! Unfortunately the second time Ive been here forced by co-workers. If a negative star was available this place deserves it. I dont know how people are saying that this place is good. We had lunch here and we saw several cockroaches walking behind the soda machine, when we advised the young guy working the register he got mad at us as if we planted them there. So after several minutes of arguing that this is bad for business his response was " they add to the flavor" I will NEVER go back NEVER even if it was the end of the world and complete and I was starving I would not think twice. I have been eating at Cafe Bravo since about 1998 (New Owner's Since). I was hooked on the very first visit. Let me just say that I mostly only get the Chicken Plate (I'm a creature of habit). Now usually I would say that this place is one of my favorite's but, my last couple of visits the chicken seems like it doesn't have the flavor that it used to and the Humus hasn't been quite the same (sniff sniff...I loved their Humus). The food is still decent, but I definitely won't be going out of my way to make a special trip there like I used to. They are inexpensive, quick service and still decent, but I still miss the old days. CHECK IT OUT THOUGH. Parking can be a bit difficult!! Not many stalls and tight. read more

I always get the beef kabob plate with an extra skewer of something else with half salad half rice, with hummus and yogurt with spinach. The place gets busy at lunch from all the surrounding business and law and firms and such, as well as dinner time from huge, almost catering style orders that they have to tend to. Although they're well staffed, this place just gets that busy.
