My husband and I visited for the first time for Valentine's Day and I have to say everything was absolutely exceptional. The service was beyond great, there was always someone checking on you, filling up your drinks and chips, and the server was attentive but not over the top. The food however was the best part. We started with the egg rolls which are to die for and then I had the pollo fundido which was better then I ever expected. The chipotle sauce was great! Overall a very great experience. Seriously frustrated. We booked the private room for the day after my best friends wedding brunch with around 30 people. We waited a good 20 mins after we arrived before ordering to make sure everyone was ready. Group A ordered. Group B ordered. Group C ordered. Group A got their food first. Group C got their food AFTER group A was done eating. Group B got their food AFTER BOTH groups were done. Now here is the most frustrating part: the bride and groom are in group B. And the only children are in group B. At any other restaurant would make damn sure a child's food is brought out first and foremost. Seriously one egg and one piece of bacon. This is ridiculous and I'm extremely disappointed in the service we received today. read more

We moved to Oakdale recently and Cafe Bravo was highly recommended. Two of our teenage grandchildren are here visiting so we thought it was a good time to try it out. We were immediately seated, chips and salsa delivered and drink order taken. We needed a few minutes to check out the menu bc it offered a lot of great items. My husband ordered the carne asada burrito with red sauce. It was delivered with green sauce but our waiter immediately had it corrected. I ordered the garlic prawns with rice and black beans. Grandson ordered the chicken Milanese and granddaughter chose the Caesar salad with shrimp. Our margaritas were delicious and pretty, too. Additional warm chips came along in a timely fashion. The service was spot on. We think we have found a new favorite place to dine. read more

The food is delicious the atmosphere is kind've more like a bar and less like a restaurant the service there is Mediocre and the overall cost its kind of high definitely good for a date night but don't bring the kids and the whole family you'll have to take a second mortgage out on your house. read more

The coconut shrimp appetizer w/spicy dipping sauce it was to die for .... love it !! The Mexicali Shrimp Caesar salad was flavorful, shrimp cooked perfectly the salad was way over dressed!! but the dressing was tasty next time I'd order it on the side. The Tacos al Carbon the steak was tender & seasoned well, but the corn tortillas were soggy & tasted uncooked yuk !! I just eat the meat which was yummy. Went here last night on the way home from Yosemite - Wow! I was impressed by the menu - this is not just Mexican food - it is a variety of Latin flavors! I had the Yucatan Pork Salad and it was fantastic. The pork had a slightly sweet flavor similar to BBQ sauce and was fork tender. The dressing on the salad had hints of avocado and cilantro with a little spice. I could have lived with out the fried shell it was served in. My daughter had the chili verde, the verde sauce was wonderful and the rice and beans were a good accompaniment. Her beau had the chili colorado - meh, ok but not nearly as fabulous as the other two dishes! The service was prompt and friendly, they kept my water glass full (needed after a days hiking) and made sure I was happy with my special order drink. The Argentine Steak salad with Chimichurri sauce was amazingly fresh and fantastic. Our server Brittney was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. This place is awesome. It's in a strip mall, which is not usually a good sign. However, its actually quite a fabulous little set up they have there. The food was delicious. Carne Asada, fish tacos, and the volcano were all amazing! The kids did not like their burritos, but they're picky always. :-) I would recommend this place for some good Mexican food and a beer. read more

Cafe Bravo is still amazing me. I had the Volcano which is Chicken, steak and shrimp cooked in a tasty sauce of fresh tomatillos and veggies, topped with cheese, served on a sizzling rock bowl. Then they give you a plate with lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, refried beans, and rice to add to your tortillas for taco's. Everything was amazing!I had a Michelada with Modelo and it was yummy! I ended up taking home my leftovers and they were still yummy. The Cafe Bravo is a hidden gem in Oakdale CA. Whether you visit their little bar for a great margarita and assorted beers in frosted mugs, or dine at the bar or be seated for dinner, the food is never disappointing. What really touched me to write this review, is the owner, or perhaps the manager, came out to our news van and asked if he could offer us something to drink. We were at our favorite cheese store in Oakdale picking up the best Gouda ever and decided to find a local lunch place nearby. We found Cafe Bravo on the restaurant search from my phone and saw the great reviews and wanted to check it out. Glad we did!! My combo plate was the perfect proportion and i was able to finish it off. The Chile Relleno had just the right amount of cheese and sauce and tasted great! The chicken in my enchilada was seasoned well too. My husband ordered the vegetarian burrito and it was super delicious! If I had to go vegetarian and eat this daily I wouldn't mind at all!
