I had the opportunity to attend Café Carousel's grand opening, and I left genuinely impressed. From the moment I walked in, it felt like stepping into a beautifully curated experience. I was so excited to come to this restaurant. I will say the advertising is amazing. However, this place would be better suited to be a pop up event with photo ops. Having half of the place be where people could take photos and uncomfortable aesthetic chair was not very inviting. Unfortunately the food was also not great. I got chocolate chip pancakes and the pancakes themselves were like chocolate (maybe) and no chips, and rubbery :(. I got Oreo pancakes the next time and I quickly found out that's how all their pancakes come out-rubbery. The service itself was interesting because we had about 3 different waiters talk to us, and we had to ask for a check from a busser because our waiter was no where to be found. Overall, it's a cute establishment, but needs some TLC and perhaps a smaller menu, so the cooks can perfect a smaller amount of recipes ! read more

That feels really strange, the server should've brought the food all together when it was all ready The birra pizza took forver to come out on top of that there was no consomé on the side . Our Server was very sweet but as she attended more tables she took a while to come check on us she took a while to bring boxes and the check. Service was subpar, seemed like everyone in a rush even though it wasn't busy.The ambiance was nice, really popped. Tried this new brunch spot with the girls and had such a great experience! We walked in around 11:30 and there was about a 30-minute wait, but we were able to grab seats at the bar while we waited. It ended up being the perfect way to start brunch--we ordered a few of their fun drinks to share, and they were delicious. Once we were seated, we shared several dishes so we could try a little of everything, and every single thing was amazing. The food was fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the wait. A big shoutout to Monica, who took great care of us at the bar, and Maria, our server, who was friendly and attentive. We even got to meet the owner, who was so sweet and welcoming. After waiting so long to be served , the avocado toast and the chilaquiles both came very soggy and lacked any texture or flavor. I also ordered the breakfast burrito, which is supposed to come with chorizo, but mine didn't have any at all. It felt like an important ingredient was completely forgotten. Every year I look for a place to celebrate my sobriety birthday with all my girlfriends in Sonoma County. I've driven by Cafe Carrusel a few times and thought it looked so cute and so fun. I knew nothing about it so had no expectations and hoped for the best. Well I have to say of all my 18 celebrations this was by far the best! I spoke to the owner Ivy( who is beyond fabulous) and told her what I was wanting. I had seen on their IG how they celebrate birthdays and told her I wanted exactly that!!!! Well she delivered. I had a party of 20 they gave us a great table in the back that gave us a bit of privacy to be loud and silly. Our server ( I'm embarrassed to say I forgot her name) was GREAT!!!!!!! Best service I've had in a long time. She was attentive, patient and beyond helpful for all of my guests. The service overall was so wonderful I can't really say enough. They all offered to take our pictures without really even being asked which was great ! The food was also wonderful everything from a nacho burger to French toast and absolutely insane fajitas. The drinks also so fun and very tasty. They even brought me a birthday mocktail which no restaurant has ever done. Every single thing about Cafe Carrusel was above and beyond. They even took video of the birthday cake celebration Cafe Carrusel style and texted it to me! I mean they have thought of everything to make you feel special. I'd give 100 stars if I could. We ordered the green chilaquiles, an omelette, a latte, and the Mexican hot chocolate. The drinks were absolutely delicious, and the food itself was flavorful. My omelette wasn't made exactly as ordered, but it was still tasty, so I wasn't bothered enough to send it back. The only downside was the wait. Our food took about 50 minutes to come out, and unfortunately, the stack of pancakes we ordered never arrived. That said, it was clear they were very busy, and I noticed the owners were out on the floor helping the staff and interacting with customers, which says a lot about how much they care about their restaurant. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back once the initial rush settles down. Went Saturday (opening weekend) around 12:30, definitely busy, but this place is very cute, with the most girly vibe I've ever seen. A lot of photo op spots! Food was good, and everything has a Mexican-food twist. The food wait was very long, but this should be better once everything calms down. Seating arrangments seemed kinda tight, but there is outdoor space too. They have very extended hours, so I'm looking forward to going back for an evening visit. My sister and I were excited to try this restaurant for the first time, and we understand that busy restaurants can have longer wait times. However, after waiting over an hour, we still hadn't received our food while at least six other parties who arrived after us had already been served. When our food finally came out, it was cold and unfortunately not very good. I ordered the waffle Benedict, but the eggs were fully cooked instead of having runny yolks, which made the dish disappointing. After waiting so long, I expected the food to be fresh and prepared correctly. My sister ordered an omelet, but it was very thin, and the bread served with it wasn't even toasted. We also weren't offered any butter or jam for the bread, which was another small but noticeable disappointment. And the cherry on top was they do not offer decaf coffee at a brunch restaurant. The staff did give us 50% off our bill for the inconvenience, which we appreciated. However, the food quality was still disappointing, and overall the experience was not a great one. read more

Went to brunch on a Saturday with a party total of 5. We totally understood it was the first weekend of opening and that everything is new and there's room for improvement, however our experience was not good. A couple points for improvement: 1. It started with being sat at a table for the wrong amount of people. We were a party of 5 seated at a table for four in a very awkward spacing situation. Servers and bussers kept bumping into me and trying to squeeze through a 3 inch gap between my seat and one of their many decorative structures. I scooted many times and tried to give them more space but at a certain point I was over it. A suggestion would be to utilize their space for primarily seating rather than decoration furniture that serves no purpose to the public. 2. While we appreciate the efforts of the servers and chefs, the drinks which we were not impressed with (non alcoholic) took 50 minutes to come out. We ordered four lattes and the last drink arrived after three meals had come out already. Meals took over an hour to arrive and their delivery was very inconsistent with food coming out at all different times and some orders being forgotten. One member of our party ordered a basic waffle that arrived 45 minutes after everyone else's food had arrived, it did not seem like the order was ever put into the kitchen. Though, the food was very tasty once it finally did come out. We did have a server come to the table to let us know the kitchen was backed up after about a half hour and we appreciated that, however, it seemed like the type of responsibility that a manager should have had instead. Again, we understand that it's the opening weekend and that servers shouldn't be punished for bad management. Which brings me to my last point. 3. Automatic 20% gratuity for our party of 5. Ok, big party we get it and we think the servers should be compensated regardless. However to not have management come out and comp the simple waffle order that they missed or at the very least apologize was kind of crazy. Our server was doing her very best in such a hectic situation and we appreciate all of the staff and kitchen working to get through the morning. Would we come here again? We came for my 40th birthday the restaurant had only been open for six days at that time, but I was seriously impressed. We put our name in to wait 40 minutes for a table, , but decided to go to the bar and have drinks until that time came. As soon as the hostess texted, we had just decided to place our dinner order at the bar instead of taking the table she offered. To be honest, the barstools/chairs are very comfortable. I ordered some sort of Bear cocktail that came with crushed ice, gummy bears and was holding one of those really cute umbrellas. It had the perfect balance of sweet-and-sour. The head bartender is an astounding mixologist and the flavor pairings were blended perfectly not too sweet. He also made sure to acknowledge my birthday in a special way with cute song and dance from a hyped up crew, I really appreciated the sparkler candles, and a complementary dessert. The next cocktail I tried was the cotton candy one and even though the edible glitter was tasteless. It totally made the drink. I liked it so much I ordered it again. I honestly don't remember what my husband ordered but I know he ate it all. I decided to go with the birria Benedict. The hollandaise was extra tasty and the egg was perfectly poached. My husband and I took our 4 year old granddaughter here for her birthday today. The decor was amazing and she loved it. What she / we didn't love was waiting 15 minutes for our order to be taken, another 45 minutes for our food to arrive and another 10-15 minutes for her 10 month old brother's order that they forgot. After all of that, the food was BLAH. I had a $19 BLT (came with fries) that had no flavor - not even the sourdough bread it was on. My husband had the breakfast burger which he claimed was also pretty flavorless and dry. My granddaughter had the pizza with fries - she can eat 2 regular size slices of pizza normally and didn't even finish the child's size pizza she was served. They do bring you a large biscuit with whipped pink butter (tasteless - just dyed pink) which was the only saving grace for the 10 month old. So, pretty to look at and take pictures but, spend your lunch money elsewhere - like McDonalds like we Should have done. read more

Then it all began to fall apart. Our server began taking our order and we had to repeat ourselves several times so he could understand us. We ordered the stuffed French toast which he then informed us was not available until we showed him it was on the menu. Ok, no problem small hiccups with any new restaurant. Then the food came, and it got worse. I ordered biscuits and gravy except the biscuits were rock hard and I wasn't able to eat them. We also ordered eggs Benedict which unfortunately came out without any hollandaise sauce, interesting. Again, we chocked this all down to a new restaurant and growing pains, it's new, still learning. We then received our bill and being our group was larger than 5 people we were automatically charged a 25% tip. You've got to be kidding me. Sorry Cafe Carrusel, we won't be back. The novelty has passed, the food wasn't even mediocre and the 25% tip, what a joke. read more
