The food was great, but the place is so noisy that we had to yell to talk among ourselves. We had seven of us around a table. The poor acoustics is the reason why I dropped one star. I dropped another star because there is only limited street parking. They don't have their own lot. Besides all that, the service was good, and the waitress was pleasant and friendly. They even allowed split checks for each of us. We all enjoyed our entrees. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is a small pizzeria. The owner Nick is such a sweet man. It's like going to your grandfathers for a great Italian dinner. Look past the small interior and bare walls. He is knowledgeable with gluten free and I never have a meal that disappoints. It is also BYOB so you can bring a bottle of wine with you. I was here on a Wednesday night which is pasta night. With pasta night you get a small salad and a dessert. There aren't any gluten free desserts. Nick does have gluten free rolls for dinner.

Thought we were going to be outside on the enclosed patio and knew it was going to be raining so we were thrilled to be seated inside by the fireplace instead. Price fixe was $65 pp so a bit steep but the bottomless drink options definitely helped. We enjoyed everything we ate and the service, restroom cleanliness and atmosphere were all on point. The two rooms we saw even had fireplace places in them. Everyone on the staff was super nice and service oriented. Our waitress was very good, but we enjoyed the bus boy even more with his upbeat personality, excellent service and great smile. They have a number of dining options, including a prefix menu which we took advantage of. Between the two of us, we had baked clams and a fried artichoke appetizer, Uncle Leo's chicken, Nonna's Sunday sauce with meatball, and ice cream sundaes for dessert. All the food was delicious and the portions were plentiful as we both took home half of our entrée, which will serve as dinner another night. I would definitely come back to this restaurant and look forward to sitting on the patio when the warmer weather arrives.

Anyway.... I was hesitant to give em another shot, but after hearing about new ownership, fair is fair. And I didn't think my previous review would be "fair" to them. So I made my obligatory "3 visit" rule (I try out a place 3x times before writing a bad review; after all, everyone is entitled to have a bad day, right?). So.... I'm happy to report NOW that the place was clean, the staff were pleasant and friendly, and the pizza was GREAT. Lots of choices (I'm a by the slice kinda guy), all tasted fresh, and frankly, it's pretty damn good. With that: 5 stars, and a hearty recommendation! Enjoy!

This is my first time here, and I was impressed with the quality of the pizza. The crust itself had the perfect texture, and the sauce and cheese were flavorful. Chef Mike and team provide exceptional food and service with a personal touch usually reserved only for socialites in Manhattan. For our second dinner visit we doubled our party to 8 and dug a little deeper into the menu. Cocktails and Wine were nicely crafted and presented with skill. For starters we chose orders of Fried Calamari w/tomato sauce, fresh Potato Pancakes w/applesauce and the big pretzel. While you would expect perfect potato pancakes at a German inspired restaurant the quality of the Calamari might surprise. Perfect batter and cook with a tasty sauce. The table varied up the mains which upped the challenge for the kitchen but all dishes were served perfectly prepared and together. 4 chose the signature Sauerbraten with fresh red cabbage. The meat was fork tender and perfectly sauced. The Twin Grilled Pork Chops, Tomahawk for 2 and Roast Lamb followed and equally impressed. Of note was the char on the pork which contrasts well with the sauce. Personal note; I tend to be very skeptical ordering lamb but had faith in Chef Mike. Might have been the best Roast Rack of Lamb I've ever eaten! The flavor on the crust was bold, meat temperature was a perfect mid-rare and the sauce had a surprise sweetness that balanced the plate. For dessert three fresh Apple Strudel w/strawberries and vanilla ice cream brought it all home. Note: last visit we made note of the dining room decor and in fairness I should do the same. Great Job brightening up the room and setting beautiful white table covers w/valentine red runners. The room looked crisp and inviting. Pine Grove Inn is a bit off the regular path in Patchogue but absolutely worth a little drive. I'm looking forward to seeing this restaurant full on our next visit even if we have to fill it with our friends.
