After learning about southern thai's change into this- i knew i had to try it. i loved what they had done with the art work. I admired the new paint and the new pictures. the ambiance was a 10/10. My wife and I decided to go on a recommendation from our friends and this restaurant is absolutely fantastic! Very friendly staff and beautifully decorated, so inviting! Our server, Kate, was so amazing and helpful, she's a great reflection on the restaurant. For appetizers we ordered Crab Rangoon and Moo Todd, both were fantastic! Best Rangoon we've ever had and the pork was tender and flavorful. For our mains, my wife got Beef Bulgogi which was incredible and I ordered shrimp with garlic sauce, simply amazing! We also ordered a side of fried rice and it was without a doubt the best fried rice around! For dessert we tried the Pot de Creme, which I thought was a mousse but was actually very thick, almost like fudge, but still very good. Bottom line, this is one of the best restaurants in the area and I can see this being a spot that we will visit over and over! read more

The last time we dined here my pad Thai dish appeared to have not been timed well with the other entrées serve to the table. you could tell it had been sitting sometime under the heat lamp or perhaps it was a mistake that they served me. Nonetheless it was not very appetizing. We tried this restaurant again last night and this time my pad Thai noodles Appeared to have been broken. The noodles were not more than an inch long resembling a plate of mush. I may have been unlucky both times but the chef is definitely letting items go out to the dining room that shouldn't be. read more

This review is an update of a previously excellent review. The service is impeccable and concerned from the server to the managers. Every dish we had was perfectly seasoned and plentiful. We were treated like royalty and the surroundings only enhance the experience. This is our new go to restaurant in Wilmington. Could not recommend more highly. read more

Beautiful place. The decor is reminding of an art gallery. Lots of eclectic art. Cozy little bar when you come in which seats about 8. The place is Thai and Vietnamese centric. Started with 3 appetizers chicken satay, Thai dumplings and Moo Todd (a ground pork ball deep fried and topped with garlic). The dumplings were nicely steamed and very flavorful. The satay was slightly over cooked leaving the chicken a bit dry. The Moo Todd was very pleasant and savory. This dish came with a Mae Ploy sauce (sweet) but I actually preferred them plain. For my main course I had the Ca Kho To (braised catfish and vegetables). I asked for it spiced up which it definitely was. The portion was perfect but heavy on the vegetables. And what I mean by that is there was plenty of fish but maybe too many vegetables. A shoutout to our server Don, he was on top of things, knew his stuff and had excellent wine recommendations. This was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a very long time. I go out at least 3 times a week and it takes a lot for me to write a bad review. My meal was inedible as was a friend's last night. What's going on here, every review is 5 stars everywhere you look. Houston, I think we have a problem. Very sad. Really upscale Chinese/Asian food restaurant Service is impeccable and the decor is lovely. Food is excellent and unique. For example: dumplings are either steamed or fried but come on round balls that everyone in our party loved. I had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp which was delicious and such a large portion that my husband and I shared it. The pad Thai was yummy. I didn't have any but was told that the coconut cake was AWESOME. read more

The absolute highlight of our trip to Carolina Beach. After days of traditional seafood fare, we needed a palate cleanser! Not only is this spot absolutely stunning on the inside, the service (Don) was hysterical and personable, and the food was absolutely delish. So much so that we actually took our leftovers to our beach condo, wrapped them up in Saran and got them home 5 hours away over ice so nothing went to waste. Thanks, Cafe Chinois! read more

Went there for the first time on a recommendation from Jimmy, my favorite bartender at 1900. He was spot on! The menu covers a wide spectrum of Asian delights from Vietnamese, Korean, Thai and Chinese. The restaurant is impeccably decorated, the wait staff friendly and efficient and the entrees we had were great; Vietnamese Filet de Poisson Grille and the Chinese Orange Beef. We split the Crab Rangoon appetizer and they were fantastic. Menu looks great and I look forward to exploring it further. Don't think this restaurant will disappoint. read more

We've been here at least 4 times since the opening. Great consistent food and service! We've sat outside twice, inside near the bar, and in the new green room - each area has its own unique ambiance. The green room actually has its own water glasses...talk about detail! Lots of thought has gone into the decor, just as much as the food. I tried ordering the bouillabaisse on our second visit and they couldn't serve it because the dish wasn't approved by the owner yet. We had it on visit #s 3 and 4 - sooo yummy! Everything that we've had has been wonderful. As much as we love Indochine, we are so happy that Café Chinois is here!! read more

Was completely ignored while standing at the entrance waiting to be seated. Once addressed the hostess wanted to put me in some tight area in the corner. I requested another spot and was told it would be about 5 minutes before a could sit down. Keep in mind that I had already waited 5 minutes while I was being ignored..
