Coffee was amazing! Maybe even the best I've had in Santa Ana. I'm born and raised in Santa Ana, so I was so proud and excited to have Cafecito close by. But the customer service, Yikes, attitude! Another Saturday, another cafe adventure! I decided to try this cafe today in the heart of downtown Santa ana. The public parking is right beside the cafe so I decided to just park there since all nearby metered parking was taken up. I parked from 1230-430 and ended up paying $4.50. I asked the batista for validation but she mentioned the businesses dont really do them anymore. I wasn't sure why but it would have been nice to park for free. Anyway, I decided to get a chocolate chip cookie and the coconut pistachio matcha. The items were about $10 with a cash tip. I did ask to get my cookie warmed up and I highly suggest doing that. I went upstairs and was alone for a good hour so I got some work done. Tastewise I enjoyed what I got. The coconut pistachio matcha was refreshing and even though I prefer my drinks on the sweet side this drink was not very sweet but I still liked it. I asked for extra ice and it came out what I would consider normal ice. I guess their normal ice is very little ice. The cookie was pretty good too but if it was warmed more thoroughly then all the chocolate would be melted instead of having hard chocolate pieces. Nevertheless, the taste was good. I ended up keeping busy from 1230-330 and then spent my last hour walking around the area to check out the other surrounding shops. I dont know if ill ever return because I am looking for more of a lively coffee shop to study and enjoy coffee. It was worth a try. read more

We got the el catrin (brown sugar shaken espresso) with the pumpkin cold foam! The staff was 1. So beautiful 2.so friendly and nice! It's very rare when you get a nice barista, they all were welcoming! Definitely recommend this place if you live in Santa Ana. For sure coming back! read more

Visited: Friday morning, 7/18 | Time: ~8-9 AM I'm a local, so I really wanted to like this coffee shop, it's easy to find and located right in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana, which makes it super convenient. They even have an upstairs area that's perfect for getting some work done, which is a plus. But unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I went on a Friday morning after my run when it wasn't busy, so I expected a more relaxed and welcoming vibe. Instead, the energy felt cold and uninviting. The baristas didn't greet me when I walked in, and when I asked for a recommendation between vanilla and hazelnut syrup, the barista responded with a super flat and annoyed "idk, it's just your preference" not even a hint of effort to help. I'm used to baristas in OC or LA being a lot more engaged and friendly, especially when customers are indecisive or curious. The lack of enthusiasm and customer service honestly threw me off. As for the drinks the matcha was okay but poorly mixed (everything settled at the bottom), and the coffee was extremely mid. I genuinely could've made a better latte at home with my Nespresso. Definitely not worth the price and I still tipped, which I kind of regret. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). With so many amazing coffee spots around, I wouldn't recommend this one, especially if you care about good vibes and customer service. read more

We started our morning at Hopper & Burr, where we received a friendly greeting, but unfortunately, there were flies in the pastry case, so we decided to stroll over here instead (which was actually my first choice). When we walked in, I greeted the team with a "Good morning," but didn't get a response. We ordered two Americanos, a ham and cheese danish, and a jalapeño cheese bagel. The coffee was excellent, and both the danish and bagel were delicious. It just would've been nice to feel a bit more welcomed. I understand that human interaction can be complicated these days, but kindness is still free. That said, I do plan to return hopefully the vibe feels a little warmer next time. The decor, merchandise, and overall presentation of the store is awesome! Great vibes and yummy coffee. When we got there there were 2 couples in front of us and I guess an order of 10 drinks ahead of us. The baristas were making the drinks as fast as they could and taking orders. It's pretty small, non-clean place. It offers area that you can sit and study or read. Wi-fi is good. Coffee.. not good, in the territory of bad. Coffee bean seems to be less fresh. I took a sip and didn't drink after it. Restroom location is awkard to use. And barista is unwelcoming. Overall spirit here is less vibe but little unegaged. read more

I follow Cafe Cito on Insta and because they have soooo much activity, posts & stories, I needed to see what the hype was all about! I came here on a Saturday afternoon. There's street parking and a parking garage that offers a few hours of free parking. There's no way you can miss the cafe - there's a big wall art that says "Cafe Cito". The cafe itself has a window table with seats, a few tables/seats outside and tables/seats on their second level. There's tons of merch available and I absolutely LOVE that their stickers are complimentary!!! Good job with the marketing pieces Cafe Cito! I also appreciated that they decorated for Halloween!!! It's so rare these days so seeing it made me feel like it was October! I'm glad I missed prime time because I got to enjoy the cafe by myself and I appreciated my conversation with the barista Mikel! Super cool vibes!!! My cafe de olla was perfect - not too sweet, not too bitter! And of course, because it felt like fall in here, I had to order the pumpkin muffin! It complimented the cafe de olla! The Cafe de Olla latte is so good. The vibes are also super cute. I also had a chocolate croissant here that was super unique and tasty.

The interior is cute and quaint, on the right-hand side of the entrance there are about 3 or 4 bar stools facing toward the street. There's a little corner where they have straws, napkins, and other items for your drink. Upstairs, there are a few tables (4 I believe) with chairs and it's a perfect spot to work on school work and study, it works from a cafe instead of home. Right about the register and where they make the drinks they have merchandise (T-shirts, and they also sell coffee cups). The staff is friendly and I have been to this spot about four times. I had a delicious Chai Iced Latte with vanilla syrup, a shot of expresso, and oat milk. This is my new favorite drink from this spot. I highly recommend it. read more

I remember seeing this little coffee shop last time we were in the area for breakfast across the street and wanted to try it in the near future. A couple weeks ago, we were in the area again to hit up that same breakfast spot but since the line was long and my GF had a plane to catch, we opted out to go visit this coffee shop instead for a little pick-me-up and some pastries. Ordered their Almond Pistachio Latte. I opted for the hot drink, half sweet. This was easily the best pistachio latte I've ever had. It was so creamy and had a strong, delicious pistachio flavor. Also picked up some cookies with rainbow sprinkles and that was absolutely delicious! Both the drink and pastry were amazing and I 100% recommend them both. It's a tight space inside with a couple seats available but apparently the staircase leads to an additional seating area upstairs which I did not know of at the time. They have some mugs and merch available including some t-shirts hanging from the balcony up top. Go ahead and park in the parking structure adjacent to the shop. The first half hour to an hour is free, don't remember which off the top of my head. We will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu in the future. read more

TL;DR - would be my go-to work spot if i lived in the area!! lowkey and great drinks! DRINK: *iced americano w/ simple syrup and a splash of almond milk - i like my americanos sweetened and this was the perfect ratio for me. the added milk (no extra cost) also added that bit of creaminess that i wanted too. espresso flavor was strong and not overpowered. overall just a great cup of coffee! 5/5 SERVICE: the barista was friendly and efficient! no complaints! 5/5 TIPS: *for parking, i parked in the structure and it was free for two hours on the day i went! those two hours were a good amount for me. *the top half of the cafe was basically empty the whole time i was there so i had the whole space to myself lol i would say its an amazing spot to work or study for an hour or two! read more

Great new, local coffee shop in downtown Santa Ana! A friend brought me here after eating at I Can BBQ yesterday and I loved the quality of their drinks. I got the coconut pistachio matcha latte and it was delightful! It had great matcha flavor but it wasn't too sweet and the coconut and pistachio complimented the drink quite well! I would order it again for sure. Service was great with the barista greeting us warmly when we came in and the decor and atmosphere was vibrant and relaxing. They also happen to sell merch as well on the side and I think this would be a great spot if you needed a place to do work and or study. In a nondescript side street lies this artsy independent shop with a lot of visual attitude but service is the opposite as very friendly and inviting. This is a causal place with a more "Cheers" type approach. The beverage of choice for this visit was an iced chai latte which was solid if not spectacular as good balance of spice and sweetness with a standard price range. Not a bad way to spend some time especially when needing a break from jury duty or the daily grind. read more

What a refreshing vibe cafe Cito offers. I was organically drawn into cafe cito for their unique Spanish flavors incorporated with their freshly brewed coffee. But once walking in I was in for so much more. I loved the indie atmosphere with warm and inviting baristas. I landed on a almond milk matcha with a suggested vanilla add in from the barista. I was in midday so sadly their daily pastries were done for the day, but it gives me an excuse to make it back in. I love the matcha. It was a wonderfully balance matcha tea latte, the vanilla syrup that was added in was the perfect touch. The next time I visit I def look forward to trying some of their signature drinks. read more

My regular spot was super crowded so I walked across the street to Cafe Cito. There were plenty of patrons but place was not slammed. I inspected restaurants for a living and I always pay attention to an establishments sanitation. This place was clean. The restroom was clean and that's a good sign. I ordered a hot Mocha and I must say; it was the best I've ever had. It was perfect in taste and a perfect temp. I also order a ham&cheese croissant. I liked the fact that it wasn't a massive football sized monster. It was palm sized and it was very nice. Flakey and delicious. The ham was good quality too, not overly salty or hard at the edges. I've been here about eight times and waited to write a review because I really wanted to like this place but there's some room for improvement. Every time I've been, I'm not really greeted with friendly service. Good customer service is free and goes a long way especially for small businesses. My favorite drink is the Spanish Latte because it's sweet with condensed milk but also strong with espresso. I also really liked their seasonal London Fog latte but they don't have it anymore. My friend tried the Cafe de olla which she did not like and wasn't authentic. El Cartrin is ok. Their matcha is not good. I will say the overall coffee quality is good. Twice I ordered a chocolate muffin and twice they gave me a banana nut muffin instead. If you order food, make sure they give you the right order. Their ham and cheese croissant is really good. Their spinach and cheese croissant is also good but it's a lot of spinach. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place but I cannot justify going here frequently. My preference is to support small businesses rather than go to Starbucks. But with the small selection of menu items that I like and the lack of good customer service, I won't visit too often. read more

I was finally asked what I was waiting for because no one prepared my order. I've always loved coming to cafe cito & regularly recommended them to colleagues.
