We tried their Hazelnut Phin Coffee which was strong and full bodied flavor- one of my favorite. I also liked their peanut butter espresso (not Phin, so a little weaker) but very good. We also tried their Chocolate croissant which was extremely flaky (and embarrassing how much of a mess we made) but delicious. Their Bahn Mi Que (southern Viet sandwich) which comes in a pack of 2 small ones, which was well flavored and delicious. Will be back when in the area. Be prepared for a very long wait and the possibility of them losing your order ticket. Parking is also pretty difficult, as the lot is small. Ordering was quick but they were clearly making drinks out of order because several people who ordered the same drink (pandan espresso) got theirs before me, despite ordering after me. Also, after checking on the status of my drinks with the person calling out names/buzzing the buzzers, he just went to the back and... never came back? And after asking again after another 5-10 minutes, they tried to tell me if I wanted my drink now, I'd have to accept one without my sweetness adjustment? They also gave me cups with different people's order tickets on them (but the drinks themselves were right), so I'm fairly certain they lost my drink ticket and have passed the problem onto other people now. Love most of their phin drinks at Trung Nguyen e-Coffee , although they have a decent reward program (not theirs but using a 3rd party) vendor to track "point" which is was inconsistent credit. Been a consistent customer for a couple years. Love most of the phin coffee at Trung Nguyen--especially the corn phin espresso with salted foam. Trung Nguyen coffee is consistently strong and delicious. Unfortunately, the rewards program has been disappointing. They use a third-party vendor to track points, and on the past three orders, my points were never credited due to what appears to be a bug.I mentioned the issue to the barista, but she said she wasn't sure how to resolve it or who to contact. She did acknowledge on her screen my recent order didn't update a check box. She shrugged her shoulder and asked that I check back. It's frustrating because the rewards program is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Made an order and staff was overworked and cannot keep up with the order capacity due to the inefficient arrangement of equipment and bar placement. The worker who was whisking the matcha at the front straight up couldn't hear my name for order pickup, puts her finger into her ears to pick it, then goes back to whisking matcha without ever washing her hands. If you're looking for a strong Vietnamese coffee this is a pretty solid spot. The pandan hojicha had a perfectly roasted flavor and fragrant aroma that complemented the pandan. The pandan comes through with the right sweetness and strength if you like the flavor. The shop gets packed and the small strip mall has limited parking but there's additional parking available at the church on 5th. There's decent amount of seating inside along with a few tables outside, but both tend to taken. Given the area, the outdoor seating could be occupied by smokers as it's not as regulated as other parts of OC. read more

If you want a decent Vietnamese coffee place, you have to check them out. I tried their vanilla marble, drip espresso, and the vanilla cream top was amazing - reminded me of vanilla bean ice cream. And the Vietnamese espresso was strong. I was surprised by the interior and how spacious it was compared to the outside. They do have tables outside, but I recommend sitting inside if you wanna get worked on or just chill. They have free Wi-Fi and a wide range of drinks as well as pastries. Quite a nice and great place but at an odd location (wouldn't think it would be here at all). Drove by and saw this quite stuck in street traffic. Decided to go in and get some stro by slap in the face caffeinated, VNese style. Been to their other couple location throughout CA and really enjoyed their decoration and the layout. Pandan Coconut Cloud My top pick, and it's completely caffeine-free. The pandan flavor is light but feels pronounced because it's paired with crisp coco water. Feels refreshing for summer!! 2. I gave most of these drinks away, but I did get to try two of them. I ordered the vanilla marble cream for myself, and it was definitely on the sweet side, but still drinkable for me. I was surprised that the vanilla cream was extra thick compared to the other drinks. I think the double matcha was pretty good but not the best compared to others in OC. The market is competitive now since almost all cafes are putting out their own version of it. I didn't expect it to come in a larger cup compared to the coffees. The drinks did take quite a long time to come out, though, so be mindful of that if you're in a rush. Saw this cafe on Google Maps while in search of matcha latte. Everything sounded and looked amazing on their menu. I settled with banana cream matcha and peanut butter latte. The former was ordered at 75% sweetness and the latter at 100%. If I'm getting drinks here again, I would get it at 25% sweetness level as both drinks were EXTREMELY sweet. STIRRING THE DRINK BEFOREHAND IS IMPERATIVE. The peanut butter latte was very nutty and gritty. It needs to be stirred before hand as if you drink it from the top, you will end up with mouthful of bitter espresso and nutty gritty texture. If you stick a straw in a drink without stirring, you will end up with mouthful of syrupy sugar taste. Normally I wouldn't stir my drink especially if it comes with cold foams on top. But this is an exception due to the layering of the flavors. The banana matcha was not drinkable for me. I can taste and smell the over ripened actual bananas and it had an odd watery texture + lukewarm grassiness to it. A hard pass and not something I want to taste again. Perhaps their regular matcha would be a better alternative. Facility features: Nice interior decor, multiple seatings available inside and outside, decent bathroom, friendly service, and free easy parking. I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit but wouldn't mind returning if I'm in the area. read more

So far one of my favorite coffee shop in OC. It's strong viet coffee and not overly sweet with fun cold foam flavors on top. The foam is on the thick side but not as dense like whip cream. Flavors range from ube, egg coffee, sea salt and banana. My favorite is the ube and banana. As a mama their strong coffee delivers Drink Menu is on a clipboard for you to grab and in the counter area. The employees are sweet and helpful in drink recommendations. The base is Vietnamese coffee (condense milk) with coffee filtered through a phin and the top is the flavored cream foam on, so it's pretty strong. Lattes are added with milk which is not traditionally a Vietnamese coffee. The shop is clean, modern aesthetic and decent amount of seating. More for a place to chat than study. I notice it can get a little loud. They have self serve water with cups on the side (left side area register.) Last time they had tea ass well which I thought was nice addition. Parking lot is shared with other business in that plaza. It can get filled up quick but usually a quick turn around. Growing up, I would watch my mom make Trung Nguyen G7 instant coffee almost every morning. Then later as an adult, we walked by the massive storefront in Saigon while vacationing. I am so glad to find out that they have expanded worldwide and have 2 locations in SoCal! The Santa Ana location is super charming with a relaxing atmosphere.
