    strawberry matcha
    Jerlene C.

absolutely love this place. the coffee and hojicha are both really good, can tell that their coffee is super high quality. the study space is great lots of tables and outlets and a ton of natural light. parking is good if you can get it. there's 6 spots in the 1901 apartment complex garage labeled retail that you can park in. if there's no space there you're a bit screwed bc there's no street around really to park on. the employees are so sweet and attentive. they also do a stampcard so you only need to go 4 times before you get a free drink. the employees remembered me and my friend after coming back a few times. i've come here several times over the last month and it's great.

The staff were very welcoming and had good recommendations. The space is really nice but can't really utilize it unless you're a resident or work nearby. Theres 3-4 20 minute street parking spots. I ordered a strawberry matcha and Kyoto cold brew. The coffee was really strong and well balanced. The strawberry matcha wasn't too sweet. It was a little grainy though.

Highly recommend this place! They only opened two months ago. Their coffee beans are roasted here so you're getting the freshest beans when you order a drink or buy a bag. They do a really good job roasting too. Apparently they supply roasted coffee beans to nearby shops in the area. The owner also sells at the Torrance farmer's market. There is a lot of space for studying and socializing. Wifi is also free here. This is now my goto spot if I ever wanted to sit down and read/relax/study/etc. Now the biggest downside about this place is the parking. It's VERY limited. They have about 4 curb side parking spots that's only 20 minutes long. Otherwise you'd have to pull into the apartment parking structure and part in the Retail parking spots (6 or so spots only). The store is part of the apartment complex so that's the reason they have dedicated parking spots there. Other than that, this place is awesome

I'm so glad I stumbled across this café while searching for matcha in the area. I ordered the half-sweet matcha latte and a vanilla latte, and both impressed me. The matcha was light yet creamy, with a clean flavor and a moderate umami profile. Most cafés use Uji or Kagoshima matcha, so it was fun to try Shizuoka matcha here. The interior is spacious and inviting, and they roast their own coffee beans, so the café smells amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent service throughout my visit. The only downside was finding parking, but it was well worth the effort. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend stopping by for a refreshing drink on a hot day. Their air conditioning was a lifesaver in the summer heat!

First finding the place was a little annoying as well as parking. I was lucky enough to find one basically on the corner! The directions took me into a different plaza and the security guard said I couldn't park there. Just be aware of that. The interior of this place is beautiful with lots of seating inside and outside! I got the honey latte and wow it was great! They roast their beans inside! The black tea was great as well! The customer service was okay!

Let's get the bad out of the way. Parking looks like it could be a challenge at this location. However, because I wasn't planning to stay, I was able to snag a 20 minute street parking. But I definitely think it can be hard to find parking if one plans to linger here. Now, for all the good. This is such a lovely shop with beautiful, natural lighting during the hours when the sun shines. And the coffee! SMOOTH. I believe the person who helped take my order was the owner, and if so, that would be Kaz. What a kind, patient, and welcoming gentleman. He took the time to explain natural wash, light/medium/dark roasts, and equated it to like how steaks are, with welldone being light, medium well being medium roasts, and rare being dark roast. He explained the smoothness to each level, and was just super sweet and kind. I ended up purchasing some coffee beans and the nice thing is, my bag was roasted about 3 days ago, so that's as fresh and nice as it is. A Canadian latte is a maple syrup latte by the way. I asked that question and felt like a dork. I would definitely come back to try more of their drinks, and because I love supporting small coffee shops and roastery. The lids to their drinks have this cool geometric shape, and I forgot to take a picture before finishing my drink. I definitely do recommend this place for its welcoming and calm energy.

I used to go here often when this was still Huskins Coffee, so I was surprised to find that a new coffee shop had recently replaced them. Fortunately, not much has changed other than the menu. There's still a calm quiet ambiance, lots of natural light, and plenty of seating & outlets. Glad to see that it's still a great study/work spot! The new menu offers a lot more variety too so ofc I had to try their hojicha latte & strawberry matcha. While the matcha isn't particularly strong, the strawberry puree was fresh and pairs well with the drink. I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again but I still enjoyed it :-) On the other hand, their hojicha latte is my absolute FAVE, maybe the best I've had!! Super smooth & not too bitter! I also recommend their focaccia sandwich - warm, delicious, and affordable. It's the perfect meal when I'm on an empty stomach & don't want something heavy. I'm excited to see how this business does & will continue to support! The owner is the sweetest old man & even remembered me on my second visit :') They also have a stamp card for a free drink after 4 drinks. Not many coffee shops offer rewards nowadays, so I really appreciate that!

This coffee shop replaced huskins coffee that was previously here in the corner which i am SO glad it did. I know a lot of other people mourn that coffee shop but this coffee shop makes coffee and matcha SO much better . The server was so friendly, lots of tables and outlets making it a great place to study. I got the maple coffee with their special okinawa cold foam and it was amazing. i'm glad i live across the street so i could just walk over with my doggo who they happily let me bring inside (BONUS), but otherwise the street parking isn't the best situation.

10/10 recommend stopping by here! This coffee shop is amazing!! Coffee tasted wonderful (tried the iced Canadian latte) and the focaccia sandwich was divine. Loved how simple their menu is as well. Owner was so friendly and had great customer service, gave us samples to try and was very knowledgeable about coffee. He showed my husband and I how to pick the right coffee beans for our French press. Will definitely be stopping by this play again!

This was a great coffee shop with lots of space and high quality ingredients. They roast the coffee fresh in house and their vanilla and butterscotch syrups are also made in house. Parking is a bit tricky but if you just want to grab and go, there is street parking. If you want to stay longer, park in the apartment complex structure in the retail parking section! Workers were very nice and great conversation!

    Beans!
    Kaleigh H.

Coffee shops don't typically leave an impression on me anymore, but this one 100% did. I came in looking to buy some beans and right away (I think the owner) started explaining all the different types of beans as well as letting me smell them. He was incredibly kind, patient, and excited to explain about them. I ended up buying one bag and he gave me a sample as well which was so nice. Today they had a deal that if you buy a bag of beans they give you half off of any drink and it was great! I think it's awesome that they roast the beans in house and are just so willing to answer any questions you have. They have a huge variety of beans and the cafe itself is very cute and seems like a great study spot. There is 20 minute parking out front as well! I'll definitely be back to buy some more beans, I think I've finally found my go to roastery!

    Novia E.

such a cute coffee shop and a wholesome owner. Stumbled upon this coffee shop after having a bad day and it boosted my mood right away. I got butterscotch latte and the owner is very caring to have me try before they put the lid on. I ended up adding more sweetener, even though I asked for less sweet. The place itself has a couple of seats. Good for study or work. Parking is pretty limited, I got parking on the street. I can't wait to come back because I wanna try their Hojicha latte!

    Interior

The drinks, ambiance, and service here are amazing. The Kyoto cold brew was the best I've ever had, and my husband's salted popcorn latte was amazing. The drinks came out quickly and the owner/barista was friendly. There is ample space inside to sit and relax, and the roasting machine is on-site. In fact, the owner had just roasted some Sumatran beans and gave us a bag to try. It's a bit difficult to find parking. We parked in one of the retail parking spaces in the nearby apartment parking lot.

Unfortunately, neither of the coffees we received was a Hojicha, which was the main reason we made the trip.

The cafe itself is on the smaller side, with only a handful of tables indoors, so it's probably not the best spot if you're looking to camp out and work for a few hours. There are also a few tables outside for additional seating. The cafe is connected to a small market that sells specialty items and fun merchandise like tote bags, giving the space a unique charm. The place used to feel more spruced up, and while the decor is mostly the same, it now seems a bit dilapidated. The restrooms aren't very clean, and there's a whole area toward the back that just looks sad. I can't really fault them for that part, because it might be due to renting or zoning issues as it seems like an unused shared space that just looks unkempt. Every time I've been here (on weekend mornings), there's usually only one person working, and sometimes it takes quite a while to get my drink if there's anyone ahead of me.

The plaza has plenty of parking and houses a few other ethnic restaurants and spas, so it's very easy to get to during a Disneyland trip. Inside, there are tons of stuff from the Levant, spices, halal gummies, imported chocolates, homemade Dubai chocolate, and a huge selection of Turkish delights and roasted nuts made by them. They also have a wide variety of baklava and fresh knafeh right there ready to cut, which is a sweet cheese dessert with a fun kataifi crunch. The gentleman who helped me was very kind, though there was a slight language barrier. He let me try a bunch of nuts when I inquired - and I sort of had to, since several varieties were unlabeled, or just had a sign for what they were, or what the flavor was, but not vice versa. The nuts were good and seemed like a good and healthy snack to bring into a theme park or to have at home. I thought the flavors I tried were hard to distinguish from another after a while, and subtle. I had the fresh Dubai chocolate and thought it was pretty nice, distinctly bitter, nutty, moist, with tons of fresh kataifi crunch. You do have to keep it refrigerated though, as I assume it's made with ingredients that wouldn't hold well together at room temperature - typically a better sign in terms of paleo diets if you've ever made paleo chocolates for yourself. It's a bit atypical from other Dubai chocolate as the filling quantity here is uniquely generous. It's very rare to see a cute, almost timeless shop like this, containing lots of traditional and authentic goods. Would enjoy revisiting to try their coffee and the nearby food.
