Cafe Colma has been on my list of restaurants to try at least once for a while now, and we finally pulled the trigger and came in a group of 5 on a Saturday evening around 11pm. Despite the late hour, there was a sizable line outside, and we probably waited for around 30-40 minutes to get a table after putting our name down on the list. It's really packed in here, and super busy, with barely any space inbetween tables; a real old school dinner vibe. We got a lot of food to share, all of which was great, comforting food; be warned that rice comes in pretty large portions, and typically I would probably only half of one order here. -Tortang Talong ($15.95): large portion, and reasonably priced, this was pretty good! -Tapsilog ($18.95): Good garlic rice, runny sunny side eggs, though the meat portion was on the smaller side Lechon Kawali ($21.95): SUPER fatty, hot and crispy, this is great as long as you don't mind the fatty pieces; I usually enjoy it, but a good number of pieces were ALL fat, no meat at all. Sinigang Pork Spareribs ($19.95): this is VERY sour and pretty salty, so be warned. Good way to get some veggies in though, and the pork spareribs were nice and tender Ginataang Bilo Bilo ($9.95): nice creamy, coconutty dessert, but a lot of starchy sweet potato/taro bits, we would've preferred more sago Turon a la mode ($12.95): this was great, though not sure why it's called a la mode since there's Overall, a good place to get some of the classic dishes if you're craving it at odd hours, since this place is 24/7, but be ready to wait a long time to get seated and get your food. This spot has been around forever! I remember going here after the club during my young club in days to eat after a long night of drinking and dancing. Located inside Lucky Chances Casino is this gem called Cafe Colma. My go to order is the Filipino breakfast, "comsilog" which is a combination of your choosing such as marinated beef or pork (tapa or tocino, pork chop, or milk fish. Each dish comes with an egg and garlic rice. You must eat it with the house made vinegar. Good service and good food! We parked in the underground parking garage and took the elevator up to the main floor of the casino where the cafe is located. We were led to a nice booth by the window- you get a view of the outdoor parking lot. The cafe offers Filipino & Chinese cuisine. On most days I've been here, I've received satisfactory service. This restaurant is located inside a casino and the parking can be rough depending what time you visit. I'd never been so disappointed with the management in any restaurant in my entire life. I wouldn't eat here if it was free! EVERYTHING ON MY PLATE WAS DISGUSTING! My family, friends, and I have been coming to Lucky Chances for Cafe Colma for over two decades. Cafe Colma offers classic American breakfast, Filipino, chinese food, and daily specials that make you want to order more than one thing .Went back for this first time in a real long time, because I was craving some real deal Filipino breakfast silogs! For those that don't know, silogs are basically a protein, plus garlic rice and eggs. They have a bunch of protein options, so I typically opt for the comsilog, which is a combo of two different proteins. My recent visit, I went with the corned beef and longanisa sausage. There's just something about Filipino corned beef that just hits the spot everytime. It was flavorful and so delicious. The longanisa was ok, a little overcooked, but still tasty. It comes with a side of dipping vinegar and it's perfect to dip or pour over your meal. For the comsilog ($19.95) + tax + tip, it came out to just under $25. I remember back in the day it used to be $12.95, those were the days lol. Unfortunately those prices just aren't realistic like they were back in the early 2000s, and I've just come to accept that. While it is more expensive, I chalk it up to a sign of the times, and it won't stop me from coming back. While they aren't 24 hours anymore, they are still open til 4am everyday. If you are looking for a quality meal, for some post night out eating, this is still a solid place to go to. Skip the fast food, and get you some corned beef silog! read more

this place is inside Lucky Chances cafe and it is a time capsule of such a homey, 90s diner vibe all from the upholstery on the bar seats, carpet design, music, to the tita's' serving uniforms. this was my first time at cafe colma and it definitely won't be my last - we went in and i saw a mix of both older, younger, and family crowds so i knew this place was a SPOT. as soon as we walked in a server spotted us halfway across the dining area and waved us over to be sat in a 2-person booth immediately. She tossed the menus down at us without saying hi back to me, but honestly couldn't even be mad i was excited to have real filipino food for the first time in a while. we got the bangusilog (milk fish) and tapsilog and just under 8 minutes later the food came out. i devoured the shit in like half that time and my tummy kinda hurt still ngl. but ts was sooo good we even got dessert at the end. he got turon with ube ice cream and i got ginataang bilo bilo (think of a warm dessert stew of tapioca pearls, glutinous rice balls, langka, and taro bits suspended in a condensed milk-like stew...but it's not that sweet!!). i couldn't finish my ginataang but the 2 pieces of turon that nate got were about damn near as long as my forearm. unfortunately they have him the wrong flavor ice cream (mango instead of ube) but he didn't care and it was still good all the same definitely coming back with a group next time read more

When I asked another person on shift about our orders, she just said they were busy. However, two tables across from us had seated people down 15-20 minutes after we were seated. They both received their entire order within 5-10 minutes from being seated. We didn't get our drinks that we ordered until the server returned from her break. I don't understand how they have so many people working yet the service was slow for us. It is not about the food taking a long time to cook. The lumpia shanghai that we ordered and drinks all came out the same time more than 30 minutes later. They should know how to cover other tables when people go on break. I go to HOPR if I want the full feast of prime rib plus a bunch of awesome sides, but on days when I just want something simple and more wallet-friendly, I get my prime rib here. $38 w/tax for a generous chunk of meat is a great deal around SF in my book, and about half the price of HOPR's King Cut last I checked. The prime rib is perfectly done, tender and juicy, and perfectly fatty. I order medium rare in case it's overdone, since I can always cook it a bit more at home. It comes with mashed potato, a side of basic veggies (I think canned), and generous portions of au jus and gravy. All around a delicious, decadent (if unhealthy) meal for me! read more

Arroz caldo was good as well but it is definitely on the super thick side. The toppings were bomb next time I'll get extra chicharon. I always love Cafe Colma! I have been coming here with my best friend for years, she has recommended this place to me and it has become my go to for Chinese and Filipino eats. We normally get seated quick, and our waiter/waitress will give us glasses of ice cold water (my favorite lol). Other families dine here, it can be full/packed depending on the day but I always have good luck. There was one day where we knew it would be so busy inside, because we could not find parking for the longest; there is one lot to find parking in, so this was nerve wracking lol. I was in the area craving Filipino food and found this place on Yelp. Bansilog combo $22 (2.5) - milkfish, marinated beef with garlic rice and two sunnyside up eggs. The beef did not taste fresh. It was chewy and tasted like leftovers that was just microwaved. The milkfish was okay, it wasn't soft and tasted like it was in the freezer and popped it in an oven. The garlic rice was good. The eggs was the only thing that was freshly made. Hennessy VSOP $12 - There's no price on the menu for drinks so you have to ask. The menu shows different types of Hennessy so we asked how much for the Hennessy VSOP. The server kept saying there's no VSOP and only one Hennessy available for $10. I tried to tell her there's different types of Hennessy on the menu and she kept insisting there's only one type. She was very persistent that they didn't have VSOP so I said okay I'll take it. She comes back and tells us it's $12 because it's VSOP. I told her that's what I initially asked for but she said they didn't have it. Instead of going back and forth with her because she seemed to be uneducated on Hennessy so I told her I didn't want it anymore. Few minutes later, a different server comes over and gives us a shot of Hennessy and I told him I did not order that. The original server comes back and said she already put in the order so the Hennessy shot is ours. Not cool to put in the order and then change the price and still key it in. When the food came, the server offered us hot sauce and ketchup. It never came. Initially I was going to give this establishment 3 stars but as I'm writing the review, the Hennessy situation reminded me how unprofessional that was. I'm from SoCal and NorCal does not have any good tacos shops or anything good open 24 hours.. until I found this place. I hate casinos but I love this Cafe. It's unique, has American, Chinese, and Filipino dishes on the menu and it's tasty. I like how it's a cafe with huge TVs playing sports, and old SF photography randomly hanging from the wall. There's always a crowd and it has this nostalgic 1950s Asian diner vibe like a scene from Grease (if Grease had Filipinos). It has a little bit of everything thrown into one place that is open day and night. What more can you ask for? and look - the service isn't great, yes you gotta wait, yes the waitress has attitudes, but that just adds to the beauty and character of this place when you're hungry at 2 am in the morning and want to hang out with your friends for just a little bit longer.
