Rude owners & servers: I saw them tell a woman who had a baby that she couldn't feed her baby outside food. Food tastes like its sat out all day to just be reheated on a flat top. Everything is an upcharge. the salsa sits out all day and becomes bubbly and carbonated sour. My cinnamon roll was great, till I found a bug stuck in it :( Small sign that says cash only, only then for patrons to be stuck to use an ATM machine for a $3.00 charge (which I'm sure the owner makes money from) much better places to spend your money at up and down warner than this spot. read more

My boyfriend and I used to come here pre-Covid almost every other weekend. He used to live down the street from here so when I would visit we would go here. We have since moved to South County and don't have a chance to go here anymore. Not sure why I never wrote a review for this place because The food is very good and their portions are huge. I've tried their pancakes, French toast, cinnamon roll, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, potato hashes, etc. everything has always been cooked perfectly and delicious. It's basic diner breakfast food but very good. I LOVE their vanilla lattes and especially the brewed coffee because they use lavazza espresso roast which is one of my favorites! My favorite things about the restaurant is the service (so fast and friendly), the lattes, coffee and the fact that the portions are so huge we used to share their scrambles with egg, sausage and different veggies! Absolutely horrible customer service experience this morning! I've been coming here for years because of the chili verde. I put my name on the list for party of two, in the meanwhile my friend canceled, I let the hostess know and she seated me at a small outside table. Next thing I know the server comes over, leans over my table and loudly shouts that I need to order and that if anyone else shows up they will NOT be allowed to sit at my table. I was in shock and couldn't believe what just happened! I gathered my thoughts and calmly went inside to speak to this crazed chick and let her know as a paying client I didn't appreciate her screaming at me like a child and embarrassing me in front of the entire restaurant! She proceeds to accuse me of seating myself. I explained to her that the hostess seated me. She then calls the hostess over to ask her, which of course the hostess confirmed that she did seat me. Then the crazed angry server continues to go on and justify her rude obnoxious and unacceptable behavior! Stating "the hostess is new" "a lot of people have been coming here for years" every excuse for her bad behavior but NO apology! Funny thing is I mentioned it to another friend who is a local business owner here in Huntington and he said he had a similar experience last week with the same crazed server! What a wonderful little café just off the corner of Springdale and Warner in Huntington Beach. I was heading to the airport and I needed a quick breakfast and saw some recommendations on yelp. I got seated quickly & got my coffee practically before I sat down. And the breakfast menu had many savory and sweet choices. I went with the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, with lettuce tomato and cheese on a ciabatta roll. And the cubed home fries that came with it were some of the best I've ever had. If they're on the menu, I'm most likely getting that. So I went for the eggs florentine, the hollandaise sauce was soo delicious! I loved it, so good. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and my potatoes were so cripy and delicious. We went for the cream cheese stuffed French toast and sooo good! I've never had French toast stuffed with cream cheese and let me tell ya'll, it's absolutely delicious. OK now I see what the hype is all about. I'm embarrassed to say that I lived .2 miles from this place for five years running and never ate here one time despite constant encouragement to do so by friends and neighbors. It took me moving to a Huntington Beach and coming into town to visit a friend For me to finally experience the cup. We came on a weekday afternoon and were able to walk right in and be seated. Everyone that worked here was extremely friendly and the ambience was very homey and comfortable. To be honest what probably turned me off over the years was the insane line that's guaranteed to be in front on any given Saturday or Sunday. Patience, when I'm hungry is not my strong suit. This place was really good and we're glad we found it. Lots of options and they have tropical unsweetened ice tea which is so hard to find these days. Only negative is they're cash only. That's tough these days considering the cost of food. No one is carrying around that much cash. We'd have to keep this in mind before heading there next time. The service is mostly good. There's a waitress there who is a crab and rude. They don't wear name tags but she's got dark hair with green streaks. We avoid her at all cost. Everyone else is lovely. This place is super bomb. I come here with my wife and daughters almost every Sunday morning for breakfast. That's a family tradition that we used to do trying out different restaurants in the area, but lately we've just stuck to Cafe Cup. Customer service is great. Staff is willing to modify food orders without issues. Pancakes are fantastic and my wife really enjoys the latte's. I appreciate that they have a wide variety of healthy options as well. Like actually healthy and good for you without being more expensive than anything else on the menu. Food has never taken too long to come out. They open early which is great because my daughters get up around 6:40 and are hungry right away. Cash only but they have an atm machine. Really slam dunk spot. I read some of the negative reviews. For the last 5 years I would have given this restaurant good reviews . Our family Frequently ate here . After Yesterday my experience was so negative we will never return to eat here again . We were waiting outside for a half an hour and was told we could not be seated until all our party was here. Got their mini breakfast burrito and a chai latte to go. It was perfect! I'm not a big eater so the size of that burrito yes's literally perfect for me, and they're not playing when they say mini! I got turkey bacon instead of real bacon and it was really delicious and had the right amount of everything in it. Would totally come back for many more!
