    Protein bagel
    Kylie S.

Haven't been since I moved out of Curtis Park and was really happy to return! A friend and I met for lunch around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. I could be wrong but the inside looks like it may have been redone or redecorated and it looks great! The menu used to be up above the register and it still might be big I didn't see it. They do have the menus at the counters to order. I ordered the protein bagel which came with egg whites, turkey, spinach, red onions, cucumbers and pesto. I also ordered a side of chicken apple sausage. The bagel was amazing, but it was a little difficult to eat. Loved the chicken apple sausage too. I also ordered one of their coffee specials which was also good. The service was great and our food came out pretty quick. Once we finished our plates were taken. The water is self serve from two difference dispensers and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a must visit in Curtis Park.

Food, service, atmosphere: all great. Could not have been a better experience. The whole family, including my 2.6-year-old grandson, loved it.

We wanted to try something new to us & decided upon this restaurant bc we were in the neighborhood. We could only find street parking but lucky for us it was close by. This corner cozy counter order up restaurant was surprisingly a good choice! I sat in a bench seat that did have a crack in it though. Next time we will sit elsewhere! They had outdoor seating & possibly upstairs too? My wife ordered her gluten free chorizo benedict & she was very pleased. It was more than enough that we had to take part of it to go. I ordered the Sacramento scramble & thought it tasted good too. My coffee was bitter at first but my replacement was better. Service was fairly quick bc we were very hungry! We will definitely return!

I came here to meet up with some friends for lunch. It was my first time visiting, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a pretty chilly day, so I was hoping to find a seat inside. The place was quite busy and the line was long. A table opened up, so I grabbed it and waited for my friends to arrive before getting in line to order at the counter. I ended up ordering the half Fuji salad and a half BLT turkey sandwich. The salad was phenomenal, but the sandwich was a bit disappointing. It was fairly dry and seemed to be lacking any mayo or mustard, which would have helped bring more flavor to it. My meal also came with a side of potatoes, so there was a lot of food that I had to pack leftovers to go.

Our daughter gave us a gift card for Cafe Dantorels. We were downtown and decide to stop in. You may order from the counter. The staff were so friendly and bubbly. We decided on 2 Turkey Burger's with fries. At which time they hand you a number. The ambience is so inviting. There's an outdoor patio where you may be seated. Our orders were served pipping hot with lot of flavor, oh my goodness so fresh. Mmm good. We will return The only downside for me was that they don't serve domestic beer like Budweiser or Bud Light.

We had a great time visiting friends in Sacramento, on the way out of town we were looking for a deli style lunch site, our friends suggested Cafe Dantorels, what a great spot, located within the Curtis Park neighborhood. The location has a lot of character and charm, with indoor and various outdoor seating options for all party sizes. Parking is a little hit and miss but worth stop. The food, wow, lots of Cafe/Deli style favorites such as Crepes to Burgers. We ordered the Tuna Melt and the Cheeseburger. The Tuna Melt was good sized with provolone, mayo, tuna salad, roasted red peppers and red onion on wheat bread, my wife raved on the taste, on top of this it was served with fries (In-in out like) the dish was very good. I had the Cheeseburger, well done with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions on a soft bun, also served with fries (In-in out like), so good. The burger had amazing flavor, it was a large patty fyi and also served with a pickle. There are so many other food options this is the type of spot that you can visit over and over and not grow tired of their food. The setting is unique, built on a corner of a main road, its surrounded by an amazing neighborhood, the interior of the cafe has many table size options, they also have a wraparound outdoor seating area facing the neighborhood or you can experience the covered back patio, it has a large outdoor seating section, it looked like they had ceiling heaters or heaters of some type. The entire location is well decorated, one of the most eye catching were the various planters along the outdoor seating area, not only do they give you some privacy, but they are also very appealing. As far as the service, it was fair, most employees were nice, but they seem very busy and focused on their task's vs the customers, overall a good experience. We really enjoyed the chill vibe.

Vegetarian - Crepe with a side salad. I preferred the house made veggie burger.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Great looking corner spot in Curtis Park - it's the old New Helvetia spot. Came for an evening birthday party and with all the celebrating, it slipped my mind to take more photos of the interior. But it's nicely decorated for the holidays. Feels like a Hallmark movie. Street parking was easy. Order at the counter like Cafe Bernardo. Would I come back? Yes, they make a delicious home made veggie burger, not just a doctored up Impossible or Beyond patty. Home Made Veggie Burger ($22, Grade A) - Chickpeas and white bean patty, chipotle mayo, lettuce, onion, jack cheese, tomatoes, dill pickles, and peas sprouts. The bun is toasted so you get a bonus textural component. The patty may look like a boring Garden Burger, but it is nothing like the frozen patties you find at a grocery store. It's hearty and packs a lot of flavor in every bite. The fries appear house cut as well and were nicely salted. Add a pickle wedge and this is a burger to definitely come back for. Bottom line. Lively, festive environment. Staff is very friendly. They offer much more than your basic Impossible and Beyond Burger so that should hopefully peak your interest to give this neighborhood restaurant a visit.

    Outdoor patio seating.

Great service, had a kabob burger, not your typical burger, so if you're looking for something different this is a good spot. Pasta got great reviews from my party. Nice little hidden spot, will be on my frequent return list. Parking is a little challenging during a busy time, so don't tell anyone about this place, I want to be able find parking when I come back. Outdoor seating area is great.

Love the water feature on the covered patio out back

How have I not only never been here before, but not even ~heard~ about this place before?! It's a mystery to me. Paid my first visit here for a work-related group lunch. They were accommodating enough to reserve a large table for us on the covered patio. They have order-at-the-counter service and then bring your food to your table. All the food options were great and huge portions! The patio was very lovely and the inside was roomy with lots of seating options. I'll definitely be back!

Cafe Dantorels is a great place for a leisurely meal! A friend and I met there today and sat outside on a perfect Sacramento morning. With lots of greenery and on a cute street, we luxuriously wiled away close to three hours! With free coffee refills, ordering at the counter, and plenty of tables, we could really take our time! I had Lox, cream cheese, capers, pickles red onions, radishes and cucumber on a toasted jalapeno bagel. Yummy! I hope to go back soon!

Banana bread latte & Spicy avocado toast
    Elizabeth U.

First off-- I'm so confused to why the ratings are so low for this place??? I had a brunch day with my girly pop and we LOVE this place. The staff is so wonderful, patient, and kind. Parking sucks, as it does anywhere in downtown. Street parking is your arch nemesis, but other than that; I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. When you enter, there are menus by the side of the door. When you're ready, you order at the counter, they hand you a number, and it's self seating. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the banana bread latte & a spicy avocado toast which came with a side salad. Everything was delicious!! In total, including tip, it was roughly $33. I know-- some of you are gonna think "wow that's so expensive" but hellooo, we live in California & inflation is a real thing! If you can't afford to eat out and tip for your service, then don't! EZPZ!

    Sacramento Scramble
    Melia A.

I came in very hungry and left very happy. This place is cute, i parked on the street (easily found parking) and the workers here were very kind. my only complaint was i paid almost $40 (pretty pricey just for myself). Other than that, I'm not sure why this place has low reviews. I especially enjoyed the sac scramble it was soooo good. i think since ive been coming here for a while now it looks like this place might need a few upgrades whether its different paint color, different decor. it looks a little dark and the same as its looked all these years so maybe that's why reviews gone bad. either way i'll be back soon. Thank you Cafe Dantorels for my yummy breakfast! :)

Cafe Dantorels is the perfect spot for brunch in Sacramento. My go-to is always the Sacramento Scramble which has chicken apple sausage, mushrooms, spinach, corn, onions, and jack cheese, and it's also served with potatoes and toast on the side! I've also tried their iced vanilla coffee before which was mid-tier, but their hot tiramisu latte was amazing. The latte art was even cuter-- just look at it! They ended up featuring my picture on their instagram which was really cool. The way it works is that you go in and order at the counter, then they give you a table number and bring your meal out for you. Pretty simple. The vibe of this place is also really cozy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a fire pit table. I love the outdoor seating especially during the fall and spring.

I decided to order the crêpe Capito with bacon, egg, and potatoes. It's basically a crêpe breakfast burrito. I had a choice of sauce and they recommended the mushroom sauce which was delicious. If I can critique it, I will say the potatoes are a bit too big for this burrito but I'd order this again! The French toast was fluffy and flavorful. I recommend that as well. The eggs, potato and bacon plate was a good portion. The bacon was delicious with the brown sugar peppery flavor. I had to order the hazelnut crêpe to try and the powdered beignets. The beignets were so fluffy and good. The chocolate dip on the side was too rich for me. We really enjoy the crêpe. I expected more hazelnut filling inside but it was a Belgian style which I'm assuming it's different than what I had expected but I enjoyed it. It had a cinnamon taste to it. The service was good. Before my big move to Washington, I made one last visit in February 2026 with some friends because I knew I had to eat here one more time before leaving. Since then, I still haven't found another crepe place that compares. If you want crepes, they absolutely have your back. I never bothered ordering much else because once I found my favorite, I stayed loyal to it every single visit! The spinach and crab crepe on spinach batter. SO good every time. They also offer gluten-free crepe options, which is nice, but personally the spinach batter was unbeatable for me. Now appetizers?? Escargot and French onion soup all the way, baby! The escargot was plump and soaked in buttery oil goodness, and the French onion soup was savory, cheesy, rich, and super filling. Writing this review is making me hungry all over again. My family has tried the French toast before and thought it adequate. Simple, classic, and exactly what you'd expect from French toast. No complaints there. The restaurant itself has a cozy, humble atmosphere with paintings decorating the walls, and there's a decent amount of seating. Parking can be a little tight since it's a one-way parking lot situation, but manageable. We usually entered through the main building entrance that connects with the neighboring cantina restaurant, though there's also an outside patio entrance. Service is where the experience could be a little hit or miss, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I often preferred takeout because my order would usually be ready right when I arrived. Dine-in service depended heavily on how busy they were and what time of day you visited. Sometimes the servers were attentive and checked in frequently, while other times it could take awhile to flag someone down. Oddly enough, I noticed they seemed more attentive when I dined solo, probably because I usually came during quieter weekday mornings. I will say though, Danielle's Creperie holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me, especially with friends/family. It will always be one of my favorite comfort breakfast spots.

The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.
