I've been here about half a dozen times in the past several years, and every time has been great. I've only had breakfast, but I've not been disappointed by the food or the service. Ordering is done at the register (which I really like, by the way). Their menu is varied. I really enjoy the bagel, egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich, but this last time, I ordered the traditional 2-egg breakfast with a side of bacon. The bacon they use is top notch, thick cut, and perfectly cooked (not too soft, not too crunchy). I'm not a fan of their potatoes - I prefer mine to be well done with a bit of crunch, but these are soft and barely browned. That's ok, though, as I don't need to eat many. The portions are large; so large that I took half of my breakfast last Friday to-go. I really like the atmosphere here... open and bright, lots of windows, and not noisy. They have beautiful outdoor seating for good weather days. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would come here much more often. read more

I came here from brunch on 3/9/19, it was pretty busy but decided to stick it out. I'm vegan and for brunch, their options are lame. I got the tofu scramble, without eggs. The cashier said I would get extra veggies but the didn't happen. Well, there was a heaping pile of potatoes, maybe that's what she meant. Those were good, the scramble itself was oily and bland. Hot sauce and ketchup to the rescue! I found the food a bit overpriced for what it was and it being counter service. I can't figure out why a cafe would shut down coffee and their beer taps a full hour before they close. This place is a f***in disaster. Advertised 6oz ribeye and eggs. I was served a 4 oz skirt steak. I send it back and ask why they served me this. The chef tells the waiter they're out of ribeye and this is a sirloin steak. Lol who would confuse sirloin with skirt steak what a joke. My wife and her sister order Greek salad and add chicken. Adding chicken costs $5 freakin dollars are you kidding me? This better be a whole breast. NOPE! They took a small breast, sliced it in half, then proceeded to serve the thinnest slices of chicken breast I've ever seen in my life. Of course burnt to hell and devoid of any moisture or flavor. Oh, and my wife's half filled mimosa glass was 8 dollars. Beer selection was alright. Also $8 dollars for a glass. 3 meals and 2 drinks cost us $60+. What a joke of a restaurant. Avoid at all costs. This is easily one of the worst meal experiences I've ever had. I don't usually trash places on Yelp, I praise them. But this was so bad I had to warn others. I like the variety here at Dantorels. There are so many omelettes, Benedict's, sweet and savory crepes and pastries to choose from. It's for plenty of seating, both indoor and out. It's great for large groups as you can each order the items you want up front then get a number and a server brings you your food. Also because it's so large you will likely not have to wait for a table. The main down side is that there is a lack of consistency and when special requests are made they aren't always fulfilled, likely bc they are busy and forgot. Happy brunching! read more

I really like this place. The atmosphere is amazing. It became a staple during my time in Sacramento. The outdoor space is lovely and the inside is pretty nice too. The Mexican hot chocolate is to die for here! I appreciate the different food options on the menu and the service is pretty good. I came in here to do work a few times and I would come in here for lunch/breakfast dates with friends. The first time I came here was after graduation. It was packed but worth it. I found out about this place through Yelp and decided to try it out. Why did I not know about this place sooner!? Anyways, I went during brunch and it was crowded but it wasn't so bad. I got the Curtis park Benedict. It's different from other benedicts (with tomato and avocado) that I've eaten before but I liked it. I also tried the Mexican chocolate. It smelled so delicious! And it taste great, not too sweet. I wanted to try the crepes but was too full. Definitely will try it next time. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Cafe Dantorels before it changed from Crepville. I am glad they kept the menu and made additions. Lately we've been coming to have late breakfast after our bicycle ride from American River and often sit in the patio area that have been updated. A suggestion to the management team if you are reading this. Perhaps replaced the lighting fixtures to ceiling fans would be much appreciated during the hot temps and to ward off the annoying flies. How a about a screen around the perimeter. My husband suggested a mister and blower. These would be awesome additions. read more

After waiting 40 mins and seeing everyone in front of us in line get their food and finish it and then saw people who came in 15 mins after us getting served their food I stopped a server to ask where my parties meal was. She went to kitchen and stood there asking looking back at my number. Then came back to me and asked what did I order? Are you kidding me was my response after having to stop her to ask my order's whereabouts in the first place. She walks off and comes back and serves us all cold food. Cold French toast that was soggy because it had been sitting in strawberry sauce for too long, eggs were lukewarm, sourdough toast was rock hard and potatoes were cold and I got 3 pieces of bacon when the side order for $5.00 stated 4 pieces and that was cold too. Anyhow this isn't the first time my order was forgotten at this restaurant which is a shame because they do have tasty food. My party tried but couldn't eat the cold food so I found the manager and was able to get a refund for our bad experience. read more

This place constantly disappoints. I live nearby and would come here often if it weren't a perpetual let-down. I got a bagel the other day. It didnt come with cream cheese. Let me repeat that: IT DIDN'T COME WITH CREAM CHEESE!! I had to ask for it. They gave me enough to cover half the bagel. Then told me I would be charged if I wanted to cover the other half. I looked at that lonely bagel half, and he looked at me. "Help me." He said. "I can't." I responded. "But you can't leave me alone like this" "I have to" I said, tearfully. I thought that this place was great. One of my coworkers suggested we head here to get some work done together. There is tons of parking; a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant and then plenty of spots on the streets around too, some one hour some two hour. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you - the line can get really long during their busy times so I recommend either getting here before or after the lunch rush. They have outside seating with misters for hot days, though we sat inside. I got the strawberry chocolate crepe and my coworker got the Fuji salad - a half size is huge! We both also got iced teas which they generously walk around and offer to refill. The food was delicious and I can't wait to come back to try more. Some of the tables have outlets, and one of the employees kindly cleaned off a table for us when I needed to charge my laptop. Nice atmosphere and clean bathrooms as well! read more

Dropped in for a late dinner to try out the cafe. It's adorable and tucked away into the Oak Park neighborhood, and the enormously varied menu (crepes? burgers? pasta? beer?) was a huge selling point for me. You also order and pay at the counter rather than having regular waiter service, which I kind of prefer because things seem to go a bit faster. The decor is lovely, and I particularly enjoyed our seats on the covered patio, complete with fountain and a long table with the fire-pit glass. I think this would be a great spot for a brunch group! I ordered the steak alfredo while husband had the cilantro cream burger. I think I was not hungry enough for such a heavy meal and this might have colored my experience, but overall it was pretty good, not amazing. Husband really loved his burger though, and was happy with the beer-on-tap selection. For a burger, pasta, and one drink we ended up paying about $30, which was more than I was expecting when you think "cafe" but I still think was fair. Staff all around was very nice. In spite of the many many dinner options, I think this is more likely to be a 5-star place for me for breakfast or brunch. Gonna have to come back and try it out! read more

The fact I can get delicious crepes, great beer and Temple Coffee within steps of my office? Yes! When the weather is beautiful, I love coming here with a good book and have lunch. I usually get a soup/salad combo (sometimes with wine....don't judge) and sit outside and just relax. More recently I've gotten to walking over for coffee during my breaks. The mocha is the best. It's the same as the Mexican hot chocolate but with espresso. Oh yeah! And you can even get foam art which is always nice. They get crazy busy during lunch so be prepared. Basically know what you want to order before you are even there. Seriously. It's best to have someone hold down a table if there is a line, which there will be. And when my sweet tooth hits (which is all the time) the Nutella banana crepe is my favorite. read more
