I cannot fathom how this place is packed, unless people around here have never tasted authentic Thai food. What we received were bland, dry, sickly-looking noodles that looked nothing like the typical Thai staples that are colorful and flavorful. Food was not good. This is a place for your inexperienced taste buds. My Asian people know what I mean. Tourist trap catered to the "American" clientele. Spring rolls had no taste and filled with 90% cabbage. No meat. My Pho noodles were so soggy. Noodles cooked way too long or just sitting in the broth too long before being served. We picked up food from here during our visit to Estes. The food was prepared on time and staff was professional. We picked up a number of dishes, Vegetarian dishes included Thai Basil friend rice, vegetarian spring rolls, Vietnamese vegetarian noodles bowl and vegan cake (special for the day). We came here for dinner it's a really little hole-in-the-wall place that you never find less you GPS.. it's not on a main road and it's looks really small from the outside a decent seating inside. OMG THE PAD THAI IS SO YUMMY!!!!!!!! We got seated immediately and the service was quick and kind. We started with appetizers and my favorite was the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce YUMMM - crisp and fresh veggies with shrimp, SO GOOD. I wasn't as impressed with the wontons, but the spring rolls were amazing and the pad Thai was the best I've had in a long time. Thank you! I ordered the chicken Pad Thai at medium heat. It was VERY hot but so so good. I still recommend it at this spice level, because the mild, while lacking heat, is not nearly as flavorful. I tried a Philadelphia roll sushi which was very good as well, the texture was soft and it tasted very fresh. The presentation of everything was quite appealing to the eye. I would like to return to try the pho, sesame chicken, and dumplings. The service was good, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I don't give easy reviews when it comes to Beef Pad Thai. I have to say the Pad Thai from Cafe de Pho-Thai was better than expected for take away! When it comes right down to it the real main ingredients of PT is the BEEF and then the noodles. While there was no Tofu the extra beef morsels made up for it. I'm going to give 5 stars! An abomination to pho!!! I know it's more difficult to run a restaurant when you're in a rural-ish city but when you claim to be "best Thai/Vietnamese in town" I would've hoped for better haha. Horrible, horrible service. We waited at our table for 24 minutes before the server even took our order. I even eyed our server from across the room, she met my eyes and flat out ignored me. Meanwhile, a man who I presume to be the manager noticed me trying to get her attention and he asked me several times who our server was and instead of helping us or even retrieving her, he just walked away. We got our food after an additional 30 minutes... The side veg for the pho was missing, as were spoons & napkins. It took about 10 minutes to track down the 'manager' he said "oh, they didn't bring that out?" and he then disappeared. The server finally brought the cutlery but the veg never arrived. The table across from ours, who was seated before us, upon seeing our food said to the 'manager', "we've been waiting for our food for an hour." I get it. It's a tourist town. While my boyfriend got the medium spice pad Thai and it wasn't spicy at all. So they would work on their spice levels! But the food was delicious and at great prices. This is an average restaurant on par for what you'd expect in a busy tourist town. We came after a hike for lunch. Service was prompt, food options include thai, japanese and vietnamese (a bit of a red flag for me when a restaurant has pan-Asian offerings). Food came out relatively quickly, but the dishes themselves were just ok. My drunken noodles were soaked in grease and had noodles that were charred. The dish also had just a few pieces of greens. The pho broth was ok, but again very sparse toppings (i.e. fresh basil, bean sprouts) that came with the dish-- there was less for two people's orders that what's usually served a single person at a pho restaurant. The meat had a strange flavor and far too thick to be considered eye of round. The noodles were soggy and the broth had very little flavor. If you want pho, I would get it somewhere else.
