I adore this little place! There is a sign on the door that states the tables are reserved for paying customers, which I think is a totally reasonable ask!! There was a woman who disagreed with that and despite her being extremely rude all the staff handled it with grace but also didn't let her just get her way because she was causing a scene. The staff are extremely attentive without being overbearing. The sandwich was incredible and the drink was smooth. There's plenty of seating inside and even though it was a busy afternoon I was able to snag a small table that I could eat and work at. If I'm in this area again I will gladly stop here for a bit!

I am not from the area, but my dentist is located in Wilton. I was in need of some caffeine and breakfast after my early dentist appointment. I am glad I stumbled upon Café Dolce. The chai tea was incredible. It is not that fake syrup thing other bigger companies use. I also got a croissant filled with spinach and cheese. I forgot exactly what cheese it was, but it was honestly the best croissant I've had in a while. If you like savory croissants, I will recommend that one. I will definitely be returning here.

Cute place in an unassuming small shopping center near the Merritt Parkway. Excellent service, coffee and food! Purchased an almond latte and a coconut latte - both were hot and delicious! Had a ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwich (panini?) along with an almond croissant, blueberry muffin, and a piece of apple cake (seasonal item) and all were fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back! Friendly, helpful, and attentive staff!

Great small restaurant, only opened till 3pm. Many choices of omelets, pastries, crepes, sweets, great coffee. Very noisy, very busy in the morning. My croissant egg/ham/ cheese omelet was quite copious, and delicious. My husband omelet was as good, no bread on the side.

I was in the area on a Family Food Adventure away from home, and I Yelp-searched to see if there were any noteworthy coffee places to visit. Cafe Dolce certainly fit the bill. I ordered a black iced coffee. It was smooth and rich. Perhaps a South American or Central American-based blend. It was very well executed. A cut above for coffee places that served this style of iced coffee. It was also reasonably priced, which I'm paying more attention to as I've noticed many places are charging coffee drink prices for their least expensive black cold coffee option. Cheers to Cafe Dolce for being reasonable. I took my coffee to go, but I observed a thriving inside and outside dining/drinking area. I didn't order food, but the desserts and pastries I observed looked top notch for a coffee place. Cafe Dolce has earned my recommendation. Five Stars.

Absolutely love this place. Their food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I have had their coffee, panini, crepes, pastries. All of them were delicious every time. The Service is quick and a great place to have ur morning coffee and get ur day started. I love their coffee art as well makes my hectic and chaotic day a little better!! My go to spot for a quick bit and I have taken almost all my friends and family here. And we come back for more.

Best coffee shop ever. Super busy but fast service and amazing food European style. I would like to thank the owner to keep all the best ingredients to make the pastry just as good as home.

This is the best bakery I know of around Connecticut. We are so blessed to have this European bakery so close. On weekends, they offer wonderful strudels - cheese, apple and others. Love everything they offer. Hope they keep going strong for years to come.

As coffee houses go, you might have to go to Rome or Vienna to find one like Cafe Dolce. I wandered in today and wow! The coffee is fresh, local roast in all the coffeehouse variations. The panoply of sweets---cookies, cakes, fresh baked croissant, brioche and other pastries, sweet and savory crepes, and lunch sized, homemade other eats---this place has delicious everything. Excellent ingredients, lovingly prepared. Don't waste your time or money at Starbucks. Tip well and hangout to write your novel. Highly disappointed - they have such great options and their crepes are to die for but the service turned me away. They were very rude (besides one girl she's a sweetie) when I asked a question about one of the meals I was spoken to as if I was stupid not to mention they messed up my order twice and proceeded to make me pay the extra fees for their wrong doings. Once again food is amazing but be prepared to get smart ass answers in return if asked a question. read more

First off some advice to the owner/cashier, if you want to improve upon your business have others deal with customers that should be simple enough to not go into detail that you're not good at it. Me thinking a cafe with great reviews I'm going to go and see some great looking desserts and coffee. No....cakes look like they are store bought, cookies so old and not at all appetizing looking. As a disclosure I am Hungarian and grew up on the best European bakery products in the grand cafes of Budapest - so I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to pastries...Café Dolce is as authentic and as good as it gets when it comes to the broadest range of Austro-Hungarian delicacies- ranging from Dobos torta to kremes (napoleon), all sorts of mignons, tortes, strudels/kiflis/rolls with the best fillings and then to top it all off, they have my favorite- somloi galuska which you should not make the mistake of not trying! Of course they have good coffee too if that is what you need.. I just feel so lucky to live close to the best Hungarian bakery on the East coast and I make sure to visit them as frequently as my scale allows! read more

Smoooooth espresso... Really savored first time visit. Cortado was excellent. Crema to die for and aroma to love. Paired with Rum cake, awesome! Have to return for crepes and other great deserts. Slow 24hr drip going looked cool for those wanting non-espresso drink. read more

I love coming to this place, they have the best coffee around! It is actually real coffee, not processed Starbucks or dunkin coffee. Their staff is nice, the food is great for lunch (highly recommend the chicken Caesar) and their pastries are amazing! I'm so happy this place is near where I live! I come here whenever I can, I always order a latte and to compliment the latte I get the chocolate croissant. The croissants are always fresh and very flakey (must get!) all of there pastries look amazing and eventually will try them all. My go to coffee spot for sure! read more

My sons and I just had breakfast there this morning and it was incredibly good. My 10-year-old son said that the café was a really cool place referring to the ambience. Cafe Dolce, it is exquisite and honestly that is an understatement because it is spectacular!!!! This place is extraordinarily unique...why? The service, quality, drinks, food, the latte art! And we'll basically everything, the drinks aren't the lattes or cappuccinos you'd get just anywhere they are like the ones you'd get at a cafe in Paris and/or Venice. Watching the process of the drinks creation is like seeing an artist create a masterpiece specifically the ones made by the gentleman who goes by the name Luigi. The same care and attention is put upon all the drinks and food as I've noticed and it is obvious as well. The carrot/ginger and cauliflower soups are my favorite, the plating and taste is that of the finest restaurants. The crepes are out of this world and the bake goods are unexplainably amazing. The moment I walk out the door I immediately can't wait to come back. read more

Everything with a heart. Food is declicious (just had your soup I took home yesterday - yummy) but most importantly, you feel welcome and even if in a small way, recognized. It does get v busy though, so visit in mid afternoon, when it is more leisurely. read more

RUDE. Guess the man behind the counter ran out of the patience mentioned in other reviews. Finally!! We got a little taste of Hungary in the middle of Norwalk, CT!!! Very friendly staff, great choices of pastries, coffee, paninis, crepes....... and Norbi threw in some extra food: linzer cookies and a very tasty Krémes that I ate on the spot. Today's sundae was a large Chocaholic with peanuts, cheesecake bites, whipped cream, hot fudge, and cherries. Yeah people, I am a chocolate lover. Don't like it? Deal with it! And as always, my ice cream was top-notch delicious! What truly makes these experiences magical is the location. Yes, I know it's not directly next to the water, but this leads into one of my favorite Connecticut summer pass times ever! To optimize my experience, I would carry my ice cream over to the Overton's dock, sit on a bench that's right at the end of the dock, face the water, and enjoy away on a nice summer day. I love to feel the sea breeze caress my skin as I look over the harbor, ice cream in hand. I love to imagine myself riding on a boat, or maybe sit at the edge of a pier, feet dangling just mere inches over the water as I enjoy my summer treat. It's always a soothing sensation, and I only need to walk a very short distance to make it happen. Mr. Frosty's, I love you so!

Talk about punching above your weight.... Cafe Dolce is a fantastic Hungarian cafe masquerading as a coffeehouse. Somehow it excels at both - it is a helluva coffeehouse AND a helluva Hungarian cafe. The cafe is industrial but charming, with dark woods, metal beams, and a massive photo mural of the cafes near Budapest's St. Stephen's Basilica dominating the wall. It is clean, and well-staffed - finished plates are scooped up quickly and efficiently, which keeps things moving along. Orders are placed at the counter, where the owner will gladly explain that all the otherworldly pastries in the cases are made in-house. There is cold-brewed coffee doing its thing on the cases, and a nice italian-made espresso machine. The menu is on a chalkboard, and features all manner of coffee concoctions, salads, panini, and crepes. That menu also references a soup, pasta and entree of the day, and that's where Cafe Dolce gets interesting. The Sunday soup was goulash, and the special was chicken Paprikash with Hungarian noodles. Well, I wasn't born yesterday, if a little place like this goes all-in on its ethnic offerings, I'm betting on them to be superb. I was not wrong. The goulash was phenomenal. It was thinner than some more cloying varieties (this was a soup, after all) but had a wonderful, rich broth with a roux base, tender meat, and pinched micro-dumplings (which are, I think, called 'csipetke'). The Chicken Paprikash was also amazing - a boneless breast of slow cooked chicken smothered in a wonderful paprika (what else?) sauce, accompanied by a little pot of hand-made noodles in sour cream. If all Hungarian food is this good, sign me up. My wife and daughters went more traditional - a breakfast crepe and two paninis - which were also great - nobody but me was willing to share. My mouth is watering just thinking about the whole experience. It was so good we got macaroons and pastries to go, which were gone before we hit the Meritt, just about a half mile away.
