I had a cheese danish that was still warm when I ate it a little later, and strawberry crepes in the cafe. Really great coffee shop. I love the red brick walls and their decor. Coffee is quite good and you can tell that the pastries are fresh. Their croissants are SO good and fluffy. I ordered the strawberry Nutella crepe as well and i thought it was good as well. Surprised to see that the strawberries were actually mashed up so every bite i tasted had strawberries in it.. which is great! Most places would just cut up your strawberries and put it in and sometimes I would get more of the crepe with nothing inside. Will definitely stop by again! read more

Cafe Dolce is so cute inside! We love dining in and ordering takeout. My son really likes their strawberry milkshake and their oatmeal. I'm a big fan of the spinach feta crepe and my husband loves the Nutella with berries crepe. Their pastries - apple turnovers, almond croissant, etc are wonderful! I think the best apple turnovers are at Patisserie Salzburg, but the rest of the pastries are better at Cafe Dolce. Don't get me wrong - I still get the apple turnovers every time. They're outstanding! Their prices are up there, but it's worth it. Everything is cooked to order and that makes a huge difference. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. Plenty of parking, too. If you decide to get takeout on weekend mornings, call ahead of time to place the order or you'll be waiting for a while. We usually call about 30 minutes in advance. They're very kid friendly. They have high chairs and they always interact with my son. We love coming here and highly recommend Cafe Dolce. Everything we've tried here has been wonderful! read more

Went in there this morning. The guy at the front spent time chatting with the woman ahead of us, being hospitable with her. When we came to the register ( we are black and she was white) he immediately seemed annoyed when we were asking him about the pastries. He kept rushing us, speaking over us and then he then shoved the tap and pay almost in my face while I was putting in my pin. He's beyond rude and doesn't treat customers equally. If you are a coffe nut you will love this cute cafe. They have a wide variety of espresso drinks and teas. They even have cold drinks like milkshakes and lemonades. They alao have a lunch menu that inclues creps, paninis and in house made pastas! The main attraction in my opinion is their variety of sweet treats. I had the apple strudel and it was so amazing. Flakey crust and it was still warm from baking. You can take your order to go or you can sit in the dining area. There were fresh herbs on the table! I was about to head into the pizza place next door, but the smell of coffee coming through the open door pulled me in. Inside was a very relaxing upscale European style coffee shop. I ordered a black coffee and a spicy chorizo panini. The panini was excellent, cheese deliciously melted over the nice fatty and spicy sausage. Then some caramelized onions to pull it all together. Served on a real plate, with a little green salad. The coffee was great. I drink it black and this coffee was great black. Rich, bold, with an underlying sweetness. No need for milk and sugar, but I'm sure this coffee would go great with them. The pastries looked awesome, but I didn't try any of them. A caution to the owners though. You need to be careful about expenses if you want to stay afloat. I came in around 1:30pm on a Sunday and there were 5 employees working that I could see, and at least one in the back I could hear. They explained multiple drinks and pastries to me despite it being a busy Sunday morning. Everything was tasty even the cakes I had the next day. It's amazing how a surly employee behind the counter can completely ruin your experience of an otherwise delightful cafe. The ambience is perfect, and the spinach-mushroom-goat cheese crepe is outstanding - but when employees speak to customers with condescension and are just royal pains in the ass, businesses are just not worth coming back to. I might suggest this place as a cafe, and not necessarily where you go for a full lunch. In this case, I did expect as much, and of course didn't receive it, given the small menu and selection. I came with my mom, for a regular lunch, and together we shared a chicken caeser salad and a panini which has cold cuts and cheese, as well as some greens/dressing. Overall, the food was tasty, but not somewhere I would go for that purpose. I think I would want to try the baked goods, the hot chocolate, or something that would be more applicable for this type of venue. With that said, it was clean, a nice setting. Listen to all the other reviewers. I trusted 'em for breakfast and they delivered on this gem. The croissants are fantastic and their omelet on a croissant is so good. The workers are very courteous and make sure that you enjoyed the food. Watching people come and go, many the staff knew by name. They are building a relationship with their clients, which keeps people coming back for not only the food, but the service. I wish service existed like this in more places. read more

I really wanted to love the place, given how nice & attentive the staff was and the ambience and beautiful decoration... However the food we ordered was not good. We ordered a panini, strawberry & Nutella crepe, and chocolate croissant. Panini was very salty and the bread was really dense. Crepe and chocolate croissant were fine and there's nothing super decent about them that justify the prices... It's not a bad place, just not what we would go back to. read more

Wow I can not believe what a gem this bakery is. I stopped by here to try the croissant omelette sandwich but I couldn't help but buy multiple other bakery options like the white chocolate raspberry cake, swirly cinnamon danish, and the Nutella pastry. Cafe Dolce is a hidden gem in Norwalk! The vibe in the place was very relaxing and cozy. The staff was very friendly and informative regarding the menu and specials. One of the workers gave a suggestion on a lemonade flavor and offered to exchange it if I didn't like it (however, it was delicious-elder flower). I ordered the spinach/feta crepe and added chicken. I have had the good fortune to try a number of their strudels, croissants, muffins and their devine small cheese rolls. Great place for breakfast or lunch. A sweet and savory place to relax and enjoy a meal or take out. The owners are Hungarian and really know how to prepare great food.
