How have I not rated/reviews Cafe Fresh!? As someone whose parents are both from Brooklyn, NY - I know bagels. Brooklyn bagels are - and always will be - the best. But Cafe Fresh comes close. Even my dad loves this place. Whenever we ask what he wants for food, his response is always "Bagel Fresh!" He loves their tuna on a pumpernickel (I like it too, but on everything). My husband loves the breakfast sandwiches. And their dozen bagels (a baker's dozen, which I love) is SO cheap!! We always get a dozen, even if we're only having 4 people over. I love that they'll slice them - and even quarter them. The line is always insane and I feel bad skipping it when I've called ahead but I love that they let you do that. The servers are nice, although mainly all-business because they're so busy, but who cares?? Awesome bagels, great price = A+! read more

I always get the sesame bagel, but my family loves so many of their other flavors (my dad is particularly happy that they have chocolate chip bagels). Bagel itself was pretty good. The texture is chewy and doughy and not spongey like other bagels I've had outside Brooklyn. I give the everything bagel a 3 stars because it was pretty average and unfortunately a little burnt (not from the lightly toasted) and the oats were something different then I've had on an everything bagel. I ordered the lox spread and got a scallion bagel, which was a bummer... but I am sure they would have given me my order had I gone back in... The cream cheese was the issue for me though. Pretty light on the amount and it wasn't as thick as I'm used to. It was like butter by the time I got to the car. Overall, the bagel itself was pretty good. I would definitely go again and give it a shot, as it has a great atmosphere and is priced well. $2.75 for a bagel and flavored cream cheese- can't really beat that. The people are also friendly. At the counter, there was not even 5 minutes between ordering and receiving food. Toasted everything bagels. Could have used more cream cheese but it was crisp and chewy and wonderful. Roast beef sandwich was also awesome and positively jammed with roast beef. Coffee was ok, not bad but nothing special. It was also scalding hot. While some of these bagels are two inches high, they aren't fluffy. They're dense and chewy, with just the right amount of crust on the outside. Here's what to do: order whatever is freshest out of the oven. Don't get it toasted. Just have them slab whatever you want on it, and down it within 15 minutes. This is my FAVORITE spot near my hometown to go for bagels, and has been since I was a kid! It's an amazing home owned business with really great staff and crazy quick service. If you walk in and see that the line seems long don't worry, somehow the team keeps everything going really quickly and you get your food and no time. My favorite is their nova lox sandwich and any egg and cheese combo is always a hit. there is seating inside that has a pretty quick turnover so you can almost always get a seat fairly easily. The place feels filthy, not sure how it passed the safety inspection. The cashier was rude. I was given a receipt to sign but she did not give me a pen. She was impatient and just pointed her finger in the direction of the pen and asked me to grab it myself. I had to go all the way to the other side of the counter for this pen and signed it. I then asked another cashier for the itemized receipt. She just gave me this stare down for no reason and told me that I should have asked earlier. She didn't know that I was sent here because I wasn't offered a pen. When she finally gave me the itemized receipt, it didn't match what I paid on my credit card. They added additional charge when using a credit card but it wasn't reflected on the itemized receipt. Overall, bad experience. If there is a way to give negative tips, I would. read more

The customers who come here on the regular know the people of Cafe Fresh.. this means that usually the Cafe Fresh members know their orders! Beside the point, the food is great! Bagels are made fresh everyday, and they have many variety to choose from. In the back, you can see people continue to make more bagels as the day goes on! You can't go wrong with any of the bagels here. Cafe Fresh also offer a bunch of different cream cheese flavors (personally love the honey walnut) that you can smother with you bagel. The breakfast sandwiches are very delicious (although, I personally think they're a little bit overpriced for what they're worth). Stop by if you're around the area! Hands down the best bagels. One of those local spots that always has a line out the door on weekend mornings (but don't let that scare you off because it moves fast). Being from the town, it was a childhood favorite, but got my college friends hooked as well, and they go out of their way to visit on weekends because it's just that good. You cannot go wrong with their breakfast sandwiches, but I ordered an asiago bagel toasted with cream cheese, and plain bagel toasted with nutella. JUST AMAZING, seriously. Their turkey club on a bagel is also phenomenal. Prices are amazing... and I recommend buying a few plain with a side of cream cheese to take home and have for the week. These will surely be a crowd pleaser, no doubt. The staff has their routine down, and you're in and out in minutes. It's so nice to see that the bagels are being made fresh, right there.
