Such a cute lil spot! Feels like you're walking into your favorite creative, quirky grandparent's house. The decor is a mix of vintage furniture and contemporary findings. You have the option to get a tea set with Korean snacks or have a more traditional cafe experience. I was probably the first to come in so I was personally served by the store owner. After serving the almond croissant and berry matcha I ordered, he came by the table to have me sample his bread. Thoughtful service just makes me melt! The almond croissant was larger than a typical cafe pastry. And though the drink was on the smaller side, the cream and berry mixture make up for it. The quality of the matcha isn't too bad either. I felt tricked when I came and everything I had wanted to try was no longer on the menu. Even the things on the menu they had run out of so I ended up choosing a few things to taste. What we tried was yummy, but the entire experience was weird and overpriced since I had come for specific things. When I was sitting there other guests came to order and were told the same thing. Strange they wouldn't change their menu and signs to reflect their actual food. But the decor was cute and kitschy and there were a few parking spots which can be gold in busy ktown. Absolutely obsessed with this little spot. I grabbed a berry matcha latte with a homemade cream top, and it was honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. The berry mix is made in-house with organic berries, and you can taste how fresh it is. The cream top, made with real vanilla beans, just put it over the edge. The owners were so kind, and the man who brought out my drink was so proud of his creation that it made me love the place even more. It's not the easiest place to find, but that almost makes it better, it feels like a hidden treasure. I love this place it was the most wholesome experience ever. My bestie and I came here for a little sweet treat in ktown. At first we were confused if it was the right place since it looks like someone's house. But upon entering it was like a whole other world. Each room in the "house" had its own vibe. It truly felt like I was having lunch at my grandmas house. The owner came to take our order and prepared everything with so much love and detail. I loved this café. The furniture, decorations, and plating were very vintage inspired. I visited here on a Friday night near 9 PM. It was quite empty with only a few parties. I can imagine this place to be a nice café to study at or to grab tea and catch up with a friend. The service was also amazing. The one worker there, I think maybe the owner, was very friendly, energetic, and helpful when we were ordering. My friend and I got the misugaru drink, cheesecake, and chamomile hot tea. The red velvet & salted caramel had more of a subtle flavor than the other 4 so I wouldn't get them again. My favorite in order was Rose, Earl Grey, Pistachio, & Chocolate. This is the CUTEST COZIEST MF CAFES I'VE BEEN TOO AND I AM OBSESSED!!!! I literally want to move to LA just so I can come here It's literally a friggin house, and the owners (who I think is this adorable older Korean couple) transformed the downstairs entire into a cafe. You can see how each section was originally its own room, and the tables and seats are all just classical wooden house furniture. Being at this cafe made me so nostalgic for when I used to tag along when my mom went to go visit a friend to drink coffee/tea and cake. We ordered a cake and truffle, the man who took our order was soooo sweet and the desserts came out quickly. They were so good, the berry cake was just sweet enough and would most definitely have any Asian moms' approval of "not too sweet" while the cappuccino truffle boasted deep flavors of coffee and chocolate. read more

Condensed milk is inside and my Korean friend recommended to adjust the amount to be less if you would like to enjoy the taste of the multi-grain powder. I love it as it was not too sweet and I could taste the natural sweetness of the powder. Red bean paste is such a good balance to add more sweetness but not overpowering the whole dish. Strawberry shortcake ...MELTED MY HEART!! I was looking for something like this in LA!! The cream is perfect sweetness, and sponge is super soft and not dry! I could keep eating. I would love it to have a whole cake for birthdays or events! They bake it everyday, so it's fresh too! They have many kinds of coffees, teas including decafs and low caffeines that go well with sweets! I tried Dates tea. It has natural sweets from dates, and it is very nutritious. Cups and plates - I think it is rare for us to be able to eat and drink out of such beautiful ceramics in LA! It makes you feel very relaxed and slows you down. Also the atmosphere is like you stepped into your grandma/grandpa's house, so you feel more close to people who you come to this cafe with. The house is so cute. Cafe Giverny is one of our favorite cafes in Koreatown, quiet and quaint and unique in all of the cafes available in the neighborhood! We love coming here to wind down after a busy day or after a meal, as the ambiance is like a cozy friend's home with beautiful vintage dishes and cups. ARRIVAL/PARKING: There is a small lot in the front of the cafe (which looks like a house, cozy with string lights and vintage foot stools / pianos in front) and a slightly bigger lot in the back; street parking is available if those are full. Walking in you are greeted warmly and usually we are ushered to our seats without a wait; we usually visit in the evenings after dinner and there are usually folks enjoying after-meal sweets and teas then too. The glass cases have beautiful serveware on display and desserts too! ORDERING: Menu has an extensive list of coffee (oat milk substitute available, yes! and decaf available for all drinks), pots of tea (one cup per pot, extra cup for $3), shaved ice, homemade sourdough sandwiches, sweets and snacks. I enjoy how the teas are ordered by the caffeine level, so you can have an herbal no-caffeine order if it's close to bedtime, or get a medium level tea if you want a bit of a pick me up. There are also Korean traditional teas available, as well as sorbets, ice creams, and acai bowls. EXPERIENCE / FOOD / DRINK: I love the CAFFE LATTE, the last time I ordered this it came in a teacup that had a tiny bee decoration that emerged as I sipped it, served on a teacup dish that had a wee grasshopper on it. The POTS OF TEA are unique and if your party ordered one each, each teapot is likely different from each other and gorgeous. The STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE slice is one of the best slices of cream and fresh berry cakes in town and we order it almost every time, the cream not too sweet, the cake airy and fluffy. The SALTED CARAMEL MACARON is the my personal favorite flavor of macaron, dainty sweet and delicious with a coffee drink. These are all so lovely enjoyed on the homey wooden tables and chairs, a mini grandfather clock nearby, or a piano overlooking your tea. SERVICE: Friendly and not intrusive at all, it's like you're hanging out at a friend's place if that friend has excellent coffee and cakes and ceramics :) "Take your time", the cafe says! We brought coffee and dessert. The cake was great but the coffee was pretty mid. The owner served us and he highly recommended the shaved ice but we were too full. He is really kind and an eccentric person. This is a Korean cafe and it's mainly Korean people so I'm not sure if the speak English. I think the cafe was an actual home. Everything looked like a piece of art. Basically you are paying for the experience and vibe. The food was pretty expensive like everything was about 8 dollars. It was apparent that Koreans frequent this place when my dad, brother and I walked in after dinner at Isaan Station a few blocks away. I was looking for dessert and saw that Cafe Giverny had a bingsoo with toasted grain topping which looked appealing. Walking in, we were greeted by a casually dressed man in Korean and we were seated immediately seated at a table for three right by the door. The decor looked nice and like a older style French home with the paintings and the porcelain dishes. It was a nice casual place for people to chat and hang out, and the demographic at the time was mostly older customers, probably around 40s-50s. It kind of gave me a Penthouse vibe (the kdrama that was really popular) with the French aesthetic but definitely not as extravagant. We ordered a shaved ice (aka bingsoo in Korean) with multi grain toasted topping with red bean on the side. The grain was some kind of puffed crunchy thing and also the ice was layered with what I assume is injeolmi powder. It was a simple but pleasant flavor. I would have favored the powder like texture that some places offer but the coarser texture wasn't too bad since it wasn't clumpy. The red bean helped to give it a sweetness to balance the grainy flavor. My brother also ordered a coffee macaron but I didn't taste it so I can't comment on that, but it did look well made in terms of the presentation. I saw that they also have available a strawberry shortcake and bread with some special butter and some other bread-based offerings. I typically am not a bread person but I would try them out since I like specialty things and they looked great. They also serve tea in decorated teapots (although I did spy a teabag at another table in the teapot, not that there's anything wrong with it but I would have expected loose tea leaves if they're going to have that as their main beverage option). Overall I would rate Cafe Giverny as 5 stars as the limited offerings all looked appealing such that I would want to come back to try it and it felt like a nice place to hang out with friends in a relaxed setting. read more

The tables are different from one another, making your own space unique and..well yours! We ordered the strawberry cake slice, English breakfast tea, and a hot cafe Vienna. The strawberry was mildly sweet and the tea helped wash down the sweetness. The cake wasn't the best cake I've had but it did the job of meeting my sweet tooth. My boyfriend said it tastes stale/old. Nice little Korean owned cafe in the middle of K-Town. This place is a house turned into a cafe, so the parking lot in the back is very very small. Still it is big enough to fit about 6 cars at most and probably 8 if you double park. The cafe itself is fairly large and gives off a warm cozy feeling. Feels like visiting the typical grandmas home or an art museum. The menu is fairly extensive, they have a variety of options from drinks, to smoothies, to homemade bread made in store. Unfortunately we were too full from lunch so we only ordered drinks. I had ordered the earl grey lavender tea iced which was nice and refreshing. Personally not a big fan of anything lavender scented or flavor, but it was subtly sweet and floral, making it a good pair with the earl grey.
