I can't wait to come back to this place. It's absolutely adorable, the staff are so friendly, and the concept is brilliant. I went on a whole food vegan diet for 40 days as part of a cleanse and health journey. So my fiancé and I decided to come out here before a concert one night. He's been vegan for years and years, but I've never had that diet so it was hard for us to go out. We found this place and knew we had to go. We arrived about an hour before close, got sat immediately, and had a super sweet server (I wish I remembered her name). But I didn't realize that the menu items were all affirmations. As someone who has had a super tough year physically and emotionally, I've been really getting into meditation and manifesting and overall good vibes. So I thought going there and seeing that menu was absolutely a sign. It's fully vegan and whole food. And VAST. There was so much to choose from. I asked opinions on what to get. I think I ended up getting I Am Restored for my drink. Delish. Not sweet but very good. And then my partner and I got the I Am Glorious and the I Am Next Level to share. Everything was SO good. House made. Great flavor. And great presentation. My only wish was that is was more affordable (why does healthy yummy food have to be so expensive?!). We'd be going more often and we don't live close by. But it's worth it. Excited for our next trip back there! Side note - we also ordered delivery from them as well. I visited Cafe Gratitude for lunch during Dine LA Week and thought the $25 deal was a great value. You get to choose two dishes, both in full-size portions, plus a drink. I ended up getting so full that I took my second dish home! I absolutely loved the coconut drink, "I Am Chill." They were also happy to customize it with less ice, which I really appreciated. The "I Am Next Level" bowl was delicious, healthy, and very satisfying. My second dish, the "I Am Beaming" Pesto Alfredo Pasta, was a little too creamy for my taste, but it was still enjoyable. It was fairly noisy during lunch on Friday, and the service was decent but could have been a little more attentive. There were a few moments when I found myself wondering when the waiter would come back to my table. Overall, a great Dine LA value with delicious, healthy food and some creative drink options. This is one of my favorite plant-based brunch spots here in the LA area. I have dined here many times throughout the years at both this location in Larchmont and the other one in Venice. The ambiance is always a cool, calm, and chill vibe. I tend to come around the time they open on the weekends, and it's especially quiet, and I enjoy eating out in the outdoor area. Smoothies are delicious and they offer so many customizable options. On this visit, I had the savory version of "I Am Hospitable." This waffle is cooked to perfection and it has the perfect amount of crispiness and fluffiness. The oyster mushroom is exceptionally well-cooked with a great crunch without it being too oily. Everything here is always seasoned appropriately. Customer service here goes above and beyond, and I believe (Candace?) saw us on our last visit. She was so warm and engaging, plus she gave some really great suggestions. I wish other restaurants had people like this. Solid place for vegan food in LA. We went for the current Dine LA special and paid $35 each for a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Overall service was okay. Perhaps they were busy due to it being a Saturday night. Staff was friendly overall, but we waited 20 minutes after we asked multiple waiters for our check (AND even went to the hostess stand to ask for it again) then when we received it, were charged incorrectly. We also had to ask for water refills multiple times, as no one checked in on us during our meal. I ordered the Dine LA special drink, Buffalo cauliflower app, sweet potato and curry bowl, and key lime pie. My friend ordered the same drink, Dine LA special lemon arancini app, Dine LA special coconut tacos, and cookie. Some items (such as the drink, cauliflower, and tacos) were stronger than others, but they all were solid. Cafe Gratitude is basically what would happen if a hug, a yoga retreat, and a vegan brunch spot had a beautiful organic baby. Everything was spotless, calm, and full of genuinely lovely people. The service was so warm I briefly considered asking if I could move in. I ordered a latte, the Caesar tempeh wrap, and a bowl -- and somehow every single bite tasted like it had been blessed by woodland fairies with culinary degrees. Flavor? Absolutely out of this world. But the BEST part? The names of the dishes. "I Am Well," "I Am Grateful," "I Am Light"... and when your server brings your food they lovingly announce: "You are well." Honestly, being affirmed by a stranger while handed organic vegan food healed at least 37% of my problems. I came for lunch and accidentally left spiritually moisturized. This has been one of my go-to restaurants for years whenever I would visit LA. However, I now feel like I probably won't come back. The food just isn't very good anymore and I feel like nothing is flavorful. I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if my standards have gone up. We ordered the gem salad, lions mane sandwich, and pesto alfredo pasta. The salad dressing was overpowered by the water content of the lettuce, meaning the dressing probably wasn't "strong" enough. The "bacon" on top tastes just like mushrooms marinated in soy sauce. The pasta had a very weak pesto flavor. The bed of arugula under the pasta makes the dish very bitter if you get a bite even with a small bit of the leaves. I do like that there are veggies like edamame in the pasta! The lions mane sandwich is one we've had before and really enjoyed, but there was significantly less lions mane this time and it just tasted overall more dry. The side potatoes are too thick for my personal preference. I wished they were smashed a little more. For this visit alone, I would've probably given two stars for the food. However, service is always great here and I have had dishes that i've loved here in the past, so I will give three stars. read more

We ordered a few dishes to share, and I loved how each menu item is named as an affirmation--so cute! I'd never had corn ribs before but would definitely order again. 4.1/5. Came to Cafe Gratitude for the first time. I'll start by saying I am not a vegan and don't often eat vegan but this will not be the last time I eat here. DineLA was a perfect time to try it out. Everyone loves Larchmont for the charm and not LA feel of the town and this restaurant fits right in with the vibe. We sat out on their patio on a beautiful evening. The service was great and honestly how can you not have gratitude for getting helped by people that are truly appreciative for what they do. We started with two mocktails that were delicious. My main was the I AM BEAMING pesto pasta that I'll call perfection, keeping the P's in place. Very filling, very flavorful and all gone by the end of the meal. Finished off the dinner with the cookie dessert. I am not a nuts in my cookies person so it wasn't my favorite. However the "ice cream" on top of the warm cookie helped me get through it just fine. First time visiting the Larchmont location and I loved it. I have been to the Venice location a few times, so I already knew I was in for something good. This will always remain one of my favorite restaurants as long as they keep the Medical Medium menu. These dishes are genuinely special because they are made from whole foods that nourish both the brain and body. You can taste the creativity and intention in every bite. I tried the new millet nori roll, the pumpkin pasta bake and the best pizza ever. The I Am Healthy Mediterranean Puttanesca Potato Chickpea Pizza is unreal. It is wild that a pizza can be this healthy and still taste that incredible. My only wish is that they still had their Newport Beach location. Came here with a group of 6 girls for brunch and had a lovely time! The vibes are earthy, calming, and lots of plants. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day so I came prepared to be impressed. I used to go to Sage Plant-based Bistro (before they shut down) and this place gives me the same kind of vibes. So happy to find another vegan brunch spot to support. I ordered the "I Am Hospitable" chick'n n waffles and it was sooo good. The chicken sub of fried oyster mushrooms were so crispy, savory, and delicious. I would order anything here that has those mushrooms. It came with a side of orange infused maple syrup and sweet cashew cream. Good item to order if you want savory and sweet. For my drink I got the "Yo Soy Alma" latte which was an herbal cafe de olla style drink. It was warm, a little bit spiced. The waiter let me know they added a little bit extra sweetner to mine because I had asked if it was sweet. It was good, but the portion size was pretty small for $6.75, especially with the foam at the top. so I probably wouldn't order it again. One of the girls ordered chilaquiles and said they were just okay. The girls who got the "I Am Strong" blueberry protein pancakes and the "I Am Great" steak and eggs breakfast sandwich loved them and would recommend those items. Something unique about Cafe Gratitude is that all the menu items are affirmations. When the server repeats your order back to you, they tell you "You are hospitable" or "You are strong.". It's kind of sweet. The server also left us with a question of the day to discuss, which was "What makes you feel most free?" Most dishes are $18-20 range. It was a Saturday around brunch time when I met some friends here for some good food and good conversation. It was my first time ever coming here and I didn't know much to expect, but I was immediately impressed by how kind and friendly the staff were, as well as how nice the outside patio was. The menu here has a ton of different burger, entree, appetizers, and pizza options to choose from and I kept it simple and ordered a margarita pizza as well as "The Effervescent" which was just a ginger ale. On top of those things, my friend ordered some nachos for the table and since this was right after my birthday, I had a little ice cream as well. The nachos were pretty darn good, and was a great way to start off the meal. I really liked the Margarita Pizza and liked it way more then I thought I was going too. The sauce was good and the dough was just the way I liked it on this style of pizza. The weakest part of the meal was definitely the drink, which I just didn't love the flavour of. But they're delicious and you didn't have to spend the time juicing all those fruit and veggies yourself! My favorite is the Yo Soy Fuerte crunchwrap. Delicious! Their fries are good too. I ordered the "I am Supported" smoothie, which was marketed to be gut-healing. It was gorgeously made, and was so filling. My forbidden rice bowl was nothing short of delicious. To say I am grateful that I found Cafe Gratitude is an understatement. Four of us ventured to Larchmont Village just to try this eatery. Best decision of the month for sure! We were greeted by our server Crawly who took the time to explain the menu and the affirmation game. We loved the concept and played along all afternoon. Larchmont village can get vary busy. The upside is this restaurant is on the north end of Larchmont near Melrose and is not as busy as the main village area. There is a small parking lot, under ground parking and street parking. The restrooms were clean and there is pleny of indoor seating and a great patio area. We sat on the patio. We all tried something different for our beverages and entrees. As in keeping with the program I will share with you my affirmation choices. I am love (iced hibiscus and elderberry tea) to drink and I am festive (chilaquiles) for lunch. We all shared I am thrilled (pumpkin spiced brioche french toast) as well. The iced tea comes with free refills. The chilaquiles was very tasty with a wonderful salsa. And the french toast was served with a berry compote and warm maple syrup. Make sure to check out the menu so you can see and understand all the food and beverage choices. This is a vegetarian restaurant which uses creative healthy foods rather than fake meats, etc. Besides playing along with the affirmations, the server also has a question of the day which helps to spark conversations with intention. We appreaciated Crawly's insights and stories about the philosophy behind the restaurant. Know that it can get busy here, and you can make reservation on Open Table which I highly recommend. Honestly, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I didn't really enjoy my meal here. It didn't have a lot of flavor not spice. My friend chose this place since she is super health conscious and has major dietary restrictions so it's good that they're serious about being transparent with the ingredients and allow you to make modifications if needed. The ambiance itself is nice so I won't take anything away from that regard. As far as service, our server wasn't overly friendly or anything. She did her job and everything came out in a timely manner, but was hoping for a little more personality or character. Anyways, just a meh experience. I am so grateful for this delicious vegan food. I've had their holiday menu more than once and have had fun trying the different entrees. They have many vegan entrees to choose from. Here's how I rank them: First Place: Savory Mushroom Wellington: The Wellington won first place because of it's beautiful presentation. It's just such a classic holiday dish. The Wellington had a great mix of vegan meat and veggies. Lots of onions in here. So tasty! Second Place: Butternut Squash and Mushroom Risotto. This is what heaven tastes like. Such a great dish. So tasty. Comforting. All vegan with no fake meat which is what I like best. Could also be a side dish! Third Place: French Lentil and Walnut Loaves: The lentils are a substitute for meat. No imitation meat here. The loaves are already portioned for you so all you have to do is plate them. A great and easy dish. Fourth Place: Herbed Holiday Roast. For the meat lovers this dish is ideal. However, it requires more preparation than the other entree dishes. I prefer not to have to do too much prep with take-out and I'm more of a veggie lover so this is fourth place for me. The side dishes are also awesome. The Brussels sprouts and lemon tahini is a very tasty dish and the Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly. I love the low calorie option of the cauliflower mashed potatoes and how buttery and rich they tasted. The brioche cornbread stuffing was moist and savory. The mushroom gravy was also a perfect condiment. The fresh cranberry and pear chutney was an interesting twist on another classic holiday condiment. The Caramel Apple pie for dessert is divine. You wouldn't guess it was from a vegan restaurant if you didn't know. I also really love the packaging on Cafe Gratitude's holiday meals. The label checks off what is in the box and the reheating instructions for everything are on the label. The Larchmont restaurant has a parking lot which is super convenient for pick up. Experience was so-so. Service was outstanding as usual, but I was honestly disappointed by the food and drinks that we were given. The butternut squash pasta was salty on top where the flakey salt was added, but aside from that, the flavor fell flat. Not much going on, and it felt a bit watery but no spice or flavor for what was considered vodka sauce. I enjoyed the vegetables in it, but everything was cut in random sizes. The tahini matcha latte was SO bitter. The whole drink was overpowered by the tahini, and I had to ask for extra maple syrup because it was such a savory drink and lacked so much matcha flavor and sweetener. The extra maple helped it become more drinkable, but I was so disappointed. Ambiance was fine. Tables are very close together, so it's hard to have privacy when having conversations, but not much that can be done with the limited space. This is a five star restaurant that I'm giving a four star review because of my experience tonight. I'd be happy to change the review if I see these things change. I've been a regular at Café Gratitude since its early days in Venice, and now living near the Larchmont location I go here frequently for years, as do my family and friends. Tonight I was first surprised by a mildly rude response to my table request by the hostess, uncharacteristic of any experience I've had over the last ~20 years I've been coming to Café Gratitude. Food, outstanding as always. Then at checkout, our server placed a plaque down on our table and told us we had to pay through a QR code, which I've never seen here. Half jokingly I told my friend, how impersonal for Café Gratitude, which is premised on real human connection. I didn't think much more of it, and went to pay, then noticed a " platform fee" on my bill, meaning that the restaurant is passing down the cost of using this platform that was not preferred over human service in the first place, without transparency upfront. My friend paid her portion of the bill without even noticing the platform fee tacked on. About 16 years ago, I read a book written by the founder of Café Gratitude called Conscious Commerce, which I still remember much of today. Whoever conceived the idea to streamline the checkout process in this way, has strayed from the business principles that it is founded on and has built its credibility around with poor execution. Is this a fast food restaurant? Big Chain restaurant? What is the cost of connection that would inspire this type of corner cutting for efficiency? I mentioned to the server that I hoped my concerns would be relayed to management, and felt his response was lacking any real understanding or empathy, again coming back to whether the restaurant is losing sight of its foundational value values. I hope this review can be received as constructive. I really appreciate that they have their own parking lot plus underground parking -- it makes meeting up with friends for brunch so much easier! The atmosphere is always welcoming and calm, perfect for catching up over good food. As a mushroom lover, I went with their recommendation and tried the "I Am Well" bowl -- and wow, it absolutely delivered! I've been wanting to try Café Gratitude for a while, and the DineLA lunch menu gave us the perfect reason. It was $25 per person for a drink and two food items which I think is a great deal. There's also underground parking and we were seated quickly. The space is small but cute, with nice window seating for smaller parties. My husband and I ordered separately so we could share with our toddler. The I Am Chill drink was a hit and instantly claimed by our little one. I had the I Am Shining but wasn't a fan since I'm not into sparkling-style drinks. If you are, it might be more your thing. I ended up ordering an iced oat milk cafe latte (I Am Light) to drink instead so my husband can take over my drink. For food, we tried the I Am Enticing, I Am Awesome, I Am Delectable, and I Am Beaming. The hearts of palm crab cakes were flavorful and well balanced with the slaw. The eggplant parmesan sandwich was delicious and the almond burrata was creamy and rich. The corn ribs were our absolute favorite and we would order those again and again. They were also kind enough to put the salsa macha on the side due to our toddler's peanut allergy so that he could have some corn.The salsa had an umami-rich peanut and chili oil flavor that we loved thay paired well with the crema. The pesto pasta had great textures and just the right saltiness. We also really liked the cresta di gallo noodles. Everything we tried was so delicious and we can't wait to come back and try more. Been giving more vegan places a try and I came here with high expectations. The concept was really unique and the service was great! They follow the theme of the restaurant which was clever and eye-catching. Before diving in: Service: 5/5 Food: 3/5 Ambience: 5/5 We ordered the buffalo cauliflower, the I am Glorious and I am Valued. I fully understand with vegan food that you have to try and appreciate it for what it is, rather than comparing it to what it is taking inspiration from. However, the two wraps did not hit the spot for us. The buffalo cauliflower was so good that it got us excited for our main meal, but we ended up leaving over half of it and filling up on the sides. It felt like a right idea, bad execution situation. With all this being said, I think it is still worth a try for vegans or just anyone who wants to try something new. Café Gratitude has such a unique and meaningful menu where every dish starts with "I Am," which really adds to the whole experience. It feels intentional, uplifting, and perfectly aligned with their plant-based philosophy. As a vegan, I highly recommend trying Café Gratitude. Their service got a lot better compared to the last several years. Food has been always great but I stopped going there for few years because stuff wasn't friendly rather rude. I order here all the time. Two days ago I ordered delivery on grub hub. I received my order and my driver told me that he had to go back to the store because they called him and told him it was the wrong order okay no big deal. However, upon seeing the order I noticed one of the pizza boxes open and an entire slice missing the other pizza I ordered was completely folded over. Okay fine. I still decided to eat the in tact but folded pizza because my 84 year gma and I were hungry then this: bit into what appears to be a needle thin 5-6 inch wire! This has never happened to me and I am not one to complain even if the meal is subpar I'm very understanding. In this case I'm not this could have seriously injured my grandma and I don't play about her especially because she has dementia and may get confused and eat whatever she's given even if it's a wire! The part that is most upsetting is that grub hub refunded me partially for the pizzas and not my entire order because "it's policy" yet how was I supposed to eat the rest of the meal. How am I to know this wasn't a disgruntled employee who decided to do more stuff with the rest of the meal. How do I know this came from the restaurant? the wire was completely covered with the truffle mushroom, only scrapping it off revealed the wire. The worst part was that I can't get into contact with anyone from cafe gratitude the phone number does not allow you to talk to anyone. I reached out through the "questions" box on their website to no avail or response. This is a huge health concern and my next step would be to file a complaint with the health department as I am genuinely concerned this doesn't happen to anyone else. Very disappointed as I really enjoyed the food here and ordered regularly. I feel this could have been made into a better situation had I had someone to reach out to. But this feels like evasion and being ignored. read more
