I am Versatile (DINE LA special) and I AM ECLECTIC (GF)eclectic (Buffalo cauliflower)
    Carissa P.

Solid place for vegan food in LA. We went for the current Dine LA special and paid $35 each for a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Overall service was okay. Perhaps they were busy due to it being a Saturday night. Staff was friendly overall, but we waited 20 minutes after we asked multiple waiters for our check (AND even went to the hostess stand to ask for it again) then when we received it, were charged incorrectly. We also had to ask for water refills multiple times, as no one checked in on us during our meal. I ordered the Dine LA special drink, Buffalo cauliflower app, sweet potato and curry bowl, and key lime pie. My friend ordered the same drink, Dine LA special lemon arancini app, Dine LA special coconut tacos, and cookie. Some items (such as the drink, cauliflower, and tacos) were stronger than others, but they all were solid. Honestly, without the Dine LA specials, I think the prices were a bit high for a casual restaurant. The ambiance is true SoCal- open, bright, airy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Would be back if I'm in the mood for a plant-forward meal.

Visited Cafe Gratitude while in Los Angeles. The atmosphere was super relaxed and easygoing, and the service was friendly without being over the top. Tried a couple of their dishes -- really fresh, clean flavors with a cool twist that kept things interesting. It's the kind of spot where you can just sit back, enjoy your meal, and not feel rushed. Overall, a solid, chill place and worth coming back to. Saluti

Perfect spot for wholesome food! Everything is so flavorful, filling and nourishing. The I AM CARING nachos and I AM KANSHA bowl were excellent.

Yesssss I am back! For the 3rd or 4th time. Cant resist myself but today I had I AM WELL. I liked it but not my favorites. However, I AM GREAT was awesome! Still love this place! Food, service, and the vibes is what makes me come back! Until next time Cafe Gratitude.

This has been one of my go-to restaurants for years whenever I would visit LA. However, I now feel like I probably won't come back. The food just isn't very good anymore and I feel like nothing is flavorful. I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if my standards have gone up. We ordered the gem salad, lions mane sandwich, and pesto alfredo pasta. The salad dressing was overpowered by the water content of the lettuce, meaning the dressing probably wasn't "strong" enough. The "bacon" on top tastes just like mushrooms marinated in soy sauce. The pasta had a very weak pesto flavor. The bed of arugula under the pasta makes the dish very bitter if you get a bite even with a small bit of the leaves. I do like that there are veggies like edamame in the pasta! The lions mane sandwich is one we've had before and really enjoyed, but there was significantly less lions mane this time and it just tasted overall more dry. The side potatoes are too thick for my personal preference. I wished they were smashed a little more. For this visit alone, I would've probably given two stars for the food. However, service is always great here and I have had dishes that i've loved here in the past, so I will give three stars.

Have been here a few times. It's so cute, love the light breezy vibes. Staff is *so* nice. I got the tahini butter cookie today, which was a really nice texture and not too sweet. Really enjoyed. Have had the cinnamon roll in the past which was also super good. Both are gluten free. Need to come back for food but tend to go to the Venice location for dinner cuz it's closer. The only downside is that it feels like kinda hefty up charges for gluten free alterations, like minimum of $4.50 on dishes that are already $22-$25 at baseline. Sigh up for their rewards program!

Absolutely love this place! Their vegan food is always so creative and on point. I love the variety of their menu and how the waiters give you an inspiring question to contemplate with your table mates and how the atmosphere is so warm and friendly!

    I am Fulfilled

Came here for a girlfriend's birthday dinner and was excited to finally try Cafe Gratitude after hearing so much about it. We ordered a few dishes to share, and I loved how each menu item is named as an affirmation--so cute! We got: I Am Delectable (corn ribs with salsa macha, crema ajo blanco, cilantro, and lime) - so good, especially with the sauce. I'd never had corn ribs before but would definitely order again. 4.1/5. I Am Trusting (roasted purple potato & lion's mane mushroom salad with garnet yam, bell peppers, kale, broccolini, edamame, mung bean quiche, spinach pesto, and BBQ sauce) - couldn't really pick out the lion's mane since everything was mixed together, but the flavors worked beautifully. 4.1/5. I Am Fulfilled (butternut bolognese lasagne with broccolini, spinach, truffled almond béchamel, almond burrata, rice lasagne noodles, Brazil nut parmesan, and gremolata, served with a Caesar salad) - such an interesting vegan take on lasagna, and surprisingly hearty. 4.3/5. I Am Giving (Hawaiian pizza with pineapple, blackened tempeh, coconut bacon, marinara, coconut burrata, and Brazil nut parmesan) - the coconut burrata was creamy and delicious, and I discovered I love tempeh. 4.2/5. To drink, I had I Am Powerful - a hard blue lemonade with Juneshine hard kombucha, blue spirulina, lemon, and agave. Refreshing and unique! 4/5. The staff were warm and friendly, even taking a group photo for us. This place is a great reminder of how creative and flavorful plant-based food can be--honestly some of the best I've had.

I AM BEAMING - delicious pasta

Came to Cafe Gratitude for the first time. I'll start by saying I am not a vegan and don't often eat vegan but this will not be the last time I eat here. DineLA was a perfect time to try it out. Everyone loves Larchmont for the charm and not LA feel of the town and this restaurant fits right in with the vibe. We sat out on their patio on a beautiful evening. The service was great and honestly how can you not have gratitude for getting helped by people that are truly appreciative for what they do. We started with two mocktails that were delicious. I had the Italian chopped salad which honestly can compete for best salads I've ever had. We also got the crab cakes and I tasted it. It wasn't for me but loved by the table. My main was the I AM BEAMING pesto pasta that I'll call perfection, keeping the P's in place. Very filling, very flavorful and all gone by the end of the meal. Finished off the dinner with the cookie dessert. I am not a nuts in my cookies person so it wasn't my favorite. However the "ice cream" on top of the warm cookie helped me get through it just fine. If you know a vegan or are a vegan yourself. This is a place where you don't have to search for something you can eat. The menu is for you. And that is something to have gratitude for.

First time visiting the Larchmont location and I loved it. I have been to the Venice location a few times, so I already knew I was in for something good. This will always remain one of my favorite restaurants as long as they keep the Medical Medium menu. These dishes are genuinely special because they are made from whole foods that nourish both the brain and body. You can taste the creativity and intention in every bite. I tried the new millet nori roll, the pumpkin pasta bake and the best pizza ever. The I Am Healthy Mediterranean Puttanesca Potato Chickpea Pizza is unreal. It is wild that a pizza can be this healthy and still taste that incredible. My only wish is that they still had their Newport Beach location. It was such a convenient spot and much closer to home.

We finally made it to this CG location! Hallelujah! After mourning the loss of CG from northern California, we managed to visit both locations in southern CA, including having a fabulous lunch here recently. Hubby got his favorite I Am Whole as did I and it is just next level good. Server was super friendly and kind and the vibe was relaxed in a good way. Restrooms were clean and played music which I really appreciate! Wish we lived closer. I bought a cookbook there, too, as a piece of CG I can enjoy at home.

Came here with a group of 6 girls for brunch and had a lovely time! The vibes are earthy, calming, and lots of plants. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day so I came prepared to be impressed. Everything here is organic, healthy, clean, all that good stuff. I would highly recommend this place. I used to go to Sage Plant-based Bistro (before they shut down) and this place gives me the same kind of vibes. So happy to find another vegan brunch spot to support. I ordered the "I Am Hospitable" chick'n n waffles and it was sooo good. The chicken sub of fried oyster mushrooms were so crispy, savory, and delicious. I would order anything here that has those mushrooms. It came with a side of orange infused maple syrup and sweet cashew cream. Good item to order if you want savory and sweet. For my drink I got the "Yo Soy Alma" latte which was an herbal cafe de olla style drink. It was warm, a little bit spiced. The waiter let me know they added a little bit extra sweetner to mine because I had asked if it was sweet. It was good, but the portion size was pretty small for $6.75, especially with the foam at the top. so I probably wouldn't order it again. One of the girls ordered chilaquiles and said they were just okay. The girls who got the "I Am Strong" blueberry protein pancakes and the "I Am Great" steak and eggs breakfast sandwich loved them and would recommend those items. Something unique about Cafe Gratitude is that all the menu items are affirmations. When the server repeats your order back to you, they tell you "You are hospitable" or "You are strong.". It's kind of sweet. The server also left us with a question of the day to discuss, which was "What makes you feel most free?" Most dishes are $18-20 range. They are very accommodating to gluten-free as well. There are 2 gender-neutral wheelchair accessible restrooms.

I saw mention of this vegan Mediterranean restaurant after I failed to secure a reservation at Pura Vita, a nearby vegan Italian spot we liked on a previous vacation (review: https://yelp.to/FHUmsvRN-m). It was a further walk from our hotel, but we had no trouble securing a table for two here. The menu looked mostly Italian, so we were quite pleased with the choices. Jamie ordered the $25 Spaghetti Carbonara, a fresh tasting, gluten-free rendition with bits of vegan gianciale, green peas and an impressive whole "egg" yolk on top (Photo 8). I must've been in a "meatier" mood and went with the $26 Tagliatelle Bolognese, another gluten-free delight. The sauce had a savory umami flavor anchored by chopped mushrooms, carrot, and onion (Photo 9). The pasta had a surprising al dente texture. We shared the salty-savory $14 Grilled Artichokes with olives, capers, roasted peppers, lemon, and mint (Photo 10). Although portions were just right, we still found room for the generous $12 Brownie Sundae with vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, coconut whip, and brandied cherries (Photo 7). What a find. I've been wanting to try Crossroads Kitchen for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally made it…read more While the ambiance and décor evoke the warmth of an old-school steakhouse or classic Italian restaurant, the food is anything but traditional. It offers a fresh, modern take on vegan Italian cuisine. Drinks & Appetizers We started with two cocktails: the Strawberry Girl (alcoholic) and the Let It Be (non-alcoholic). Both were excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Cigars, served with a light, tangy yogurt-style dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. The cigars themselves were delicate, filled with plant-based meat, and lightly fried. Think of an elevated, artisanal taquito. A perfect lead-in to the main course. Entrées We ordered two dishes: the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka with the chicken Parmesan add-on, and the Spicy Meatball Pizza. Pro tip: absolutely add the chicken Parmesan to the rigatoni. The vodka sauce was bold and spicy without overpowering the dish, and the chicken Parm was beautifully cooked with excellent texture, a natural and well-balanced pairing. The pizza was exceptional. True to its name, there was a meatball in nearly every bite. It's topped with ricotta and dusted with parmesan, and we added red chili flakes for an extra kick. The crust is very thin and artisanal, and every component, the marinara, meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and parmesan, worked in perfect harmony. The dough alone is worth finishing every last piece. Dessert We ended with the Brownie Sundae, which was the one minor letdown of the evening. The ice cream appeared to have been pre-scooped, as it was quite firm with visible ice crystals, not ideal. The brownie itself, however, was absolutely delicious, though the portion felt a bit small relative to the dish as a whole. Overall, the sundae was just okay. I'd likely skip it next time and explore other dessert options. Service & Atmosphere The service was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The pacing of the meal was particularly impressive. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all arrived at just the right tempo. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing lingered too long. Parking There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Crossroads is located on Melrose Avenue, a busy shopping district with heavy foot traffic and limited street parking. That said, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking without much trouble. If spots near the restaurant are taken, driving a few blocks into the surrounding neighborhood usually turns up more options, just be prepared for a short walk. Plan your arrival time accordingly to avoid any parking stress. Overall, Crossroads Kitchen delivered on every front. Creative food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend, with the rigatoni and pizza as must-orders.

I rarely leave reviews (except for positive ones if you check my history of all 6), but this was…read moreone of the most careless and irresponsible restaurant experiences I've had in years. Civico makes a point of advertising gluten-free and vegan options, which naturally creates the expectation that staff are knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and food allergies. Unfortunately, that was absolutely not my experience. We went to Civico tonight for my husband's birthday dinner. As soon as we were seated, I proactively informed the staff that I have a gluten allergy. Nobody asked, but I made sure to tell them because my allergy is serious. A staff member later brought complimentary bread and pesto to the table. Since it wasn't on the menu and I couldn't verify what it was, I specifically asked whether the bread was gluten-free. He confidently told me that both the bread and pesto were gluten-free and even added that they bake the bread in-house. I asked again to confirm because I have an allergy. He assured me it was gluten-free. I then started eating the focaccia. About five minutes later, the same employee returned to the table and casually informed me that the bread was actually NOT gluten-free -- it was vegan. Let that sink in. I had explicitly disclosed a gluten allergy. I specifically asked whether the bread was gluten-free. I asked twice. I was told with complete confidence that it was safe for me to eat. By that point, I had already consumed it. I immediately stopped eating and was horrified. I am highly sensitive to gluten and became sick almost immediately. As I write this, I am feverish, nauseated, and dealing with the consequences of a mistake that should never have happened. What is even more shocking is what happened next: nothing. No manager came over. No meaningful apology was offered. Nobody checked on me. Nobody seemed to appreciate the seriousness of serving an allergen to someone who had clearly disclosed an allergy and specifically verified the food before eating it. In Los Angeles, where allergy awareness is standard practice and most restaurants take these matters seriously, this level of negligence is frankly inexcusable. This wasn't a complicated situation. This was bread -- bread usually has gluten. I asked if it contained gluten, assuming the answer was yes but he placed it on the table saying gluten free bread. Who does that?! I was told it did not have it with attitude from the guy as if I was asking a dumb question. That information was wrong and he shouldn't have said it without realizing he was hurting someone by being overly confident. If staff cannot accurately identify whether bread contains gluten, they should not be answering allergy questions. The confidence with which incorrect information was given is what makes this so concerning. As for the food itself, the gluten-free pasta and the rest of the meal were fine, but entirely unremarkable. Nothing we ate came close to making up for the experience. The bigger issue is trust. Once a restaurant demonstrates that its staff do not understand allergens and cannot reliably communicate ingredient information, it's impossible to feel safe dining there. I will never return, and anyone with celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or serious food sensitivities should think carefully before relying on the staff's guidance.

HIGHLY recommend the thousand layer potato's and spicy lumaconi

We had the crispy rice, nachos with beef added on top, and the vodka pizza which is one of my favorite vegan pizzas to date. We also got the noodles (non spicy ones) and the brownie with ice cream OMG, amazing. Our waiter, cannot remember his name unfortunately, was fantastic. Very attentive and gave great suggestions. Overall, 10/10, will definitely be back!!

Yummy yummy vegan food. This not a restaurant; pickup only. Order online. Then when they notify…read morethat your order is ready and you drive up to the curb, you can call them when you're at the door. Catsu Frank was outstanding and my ultimate favorite. Loaded Island Fried Chicken Fries was really good and they put sauces on the side. Never disappointed with the Mac box. Hibachi spam and egg fried rice was expectedly salty which we loved. Asian fire wings was pleasantly tasty; glad it didn't set my mouth on fire. Chow mein was okay. When you carry it to your car, just be careful as sometimes the sauces are tilted and the lids might pop off and leak a bit. We order ahead so we can pick up and go. You can add utensils to the order. If you're extremely hungry and want to eat right away, there is a convenient park across the street but be on the look out for homeless.

The chicken stays crispy for a long time and reheats nicely as leftovers. Everything we've ordered is really good and crave-worthy. We got the lucky catsu, curry catsu, crispy shrimp, spam masubi, catsu masubi, orange chicken, crispy chicken. Top two favorites are lucky and curry catsu. Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi. I've been here 3 times and never last long enough to get a photo before digging in. There are two other vegan restaurants right next to it, same concept - order and pick up. Great for different options if one is craving Mexican from Cena or hot dogs from All franks.
