Make this your go‑to happy hour/tapas spot in Malibu! We came to this strip‑mall area to pick up a few things at Ralphs for our trip and spotted Zinqué. It looked cute, had plenty of people, dogs on the patio, and we were craving a light bite -- so we thought, why not? I love when an unexpected dining experience hits and completely exceeds your expectations, and Zinqué did exactly that. We arrived at the perfect time: happy hour. Both of our drinks were included, and they offered a deal on any three tapas. We tried the deviled eggs, chicken wings, and burrata pizza -- each one was elegantly plated, packed with flavor, and exactly what we needed. Their drink menu is extensive, with tons of happy‑hour options. I especially appreciated their long wine list and that they clearly mark which wines are organic, natural, or biodynamic -- something I always look for and can be hard to spot on menus. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and even chatted with us for a bit. The space is beautiful, dog‑friendly, and has a great outdoor patio. Inside, there's a cozy lounge‑style area in the back and a half‑circle bar. They also offer Wi‑Fi, making it a great spot to get some work done while enjoying a drink. On the way out, I noticed they have a connected store and café with home goods, kitchen items, artisanal snacks, cheeses, wines, and even an espresso bar. It was so fun to browse and grab a lovely bottle of wine to go. A perfect, unexpected Malibu find -- we'll definitely be back.

This is the best little gem of malibu for a delicious meal, laid back vibe, and convenient shopping in the store connected to their restaurant. The steak frites has got to be the best in the city. I do not say that lightly! They're super nice here, you pick your own seating and order from a qr code. I never feel rushed and it's one of the least pretentious places in malibu. They also have great mezcal. Love this place now that I live ten minutes away. Thank you Zinque!!!

We came to Zinque for a quick late brunch on Sunday and had a lovely time. I've been to only the DTLA Zineque while it was my first time here at the Malibu location. Parking was super plentiful on a weekend which was great. It was also easy to make a reservation on OpenTable. Once we were seated, we took outdoor seating and the wait staff/front of house was super helpful/kind. One small feedback note is that they seemed a little slow on service at the outset. However, it was easy for me to flag down one of the staff members to help take our orders. We got a few delicious items. The quiche lorraine in particular was solid and pretty big. We loved how custard-y the quiche was and the fries we asked to be extra crispy which was great. We also got the sunrise juice which was refreshing (could even be stronger on the ginger for us) and the avocado toast (loved how it was a play on pan con tomate (although wish it was a bit bigger). Vibes as with the DTLA Zinque felt modern and chill. Loved the decor and was able to bring our dog outside.

It has been awhile since I've been in this particular shopping center so I was surprised to see Zinque take over this large space. A small group of us came for bunch during a work day and overall we had a good experience. Zinque seems to be a mix of a retail store with a coffee shop, dining, with a casual customer service approach. After reviewing the menu, we ordered our food and drinks from the front kiosk. Around the corner to wait for our drinks. From there we were able to pick our seats from the vast dining area. The table shared a the olive oil cake and a berry cake/bread (I think it was a bread) where the olive oil cake was the clear favorite. For my main I went with the bacon and potato burrito. Although the burrito was on the smaller side, the taste and flavors were tasty. I wish there as some sort of side included with the burrito though. I think Zinque is here to stay in Malibu and I'd be open to coming back. The dinner menu looks enticing!

It's a solid restaurant in Malibu from food selection, drinks, service and ambiance. Zinque covers it all nicely in a time where it's difficult to check the boxes for all of these attributes of a restaurant. Keep doing what you're doing, Zinque! It's working! Parking lot available.

Happy Hour! On Monday through Friday you can pop in for some happy hour! Happy hour is 3-6pm at the bar and high tables. Happy hour consist of 12 dollar craft cocktail, discounted wine and a tapa special. Tapa specials includes you pick three for 13 dollars. We chose to get pork belly taco, pate and prosciutto flatbread. Gosh that's a lot of pork! As always our cocktails were amazing! Husband likes the beers on tap, as some of the tap beers can only be found in bottles at other places! The appetizers were good with some modifications: we found the pate tapa bread to be super hard but the staff quickly replaced the bread without any problems! Always great service at the bar!

On my FIRST visit to this establishment, in hopes to use the $20 off $60 order coupon via InKind app, I quickly changed my mind! Left immediately lol. We were trying to find the correct entrance to the restaurant, as there are multiple doors in the front (see photo). Instead of going inside to view the menu on our phones , we chose to sit outside to view. We were then approached by Alex, who seemed to be the hostess or front of house staff. She came outside to bring us menus, but we let her know that we were trying to utilize the deal/coupon. It became very clear to me that she was uninformed about the deal. Which is fine. There was apparent attitude when she realized its applicable for pickup order only. She proceeded to tell us we can't sit outside for this. Then she followed up with, "Or I guess you could, but you'd be eating out of to-go boxes and stuff." Which we were fine with. I let her know we're simply sitting outside of the restaurant trying to figure out their menu and what we should order. She responded back with attitude saying "ok I just came over to give you guys menus" with a dead straight look on her face. She then moved over to help the table adjacent to us. It was extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly. No matter the words that came out of her mouth.. it was the tone and body language. After that, we decided not to support the business and spend our money or time there. :)

So delicious!! My friends and I came here on a Saturday morning to celebrate a birthday. We loved it! Cute and trendy ambiance. Servers were friendly and helpful. I got the toast with the tuna tartare, and we shared the toast with the smoked salmon. So delicious. We all got the Baklava latte.. this is a MUST! So good. Would highly recommend!

We stopped to grab a coffee at the coffee shop there and it was honestly not that great, they were very sweet the girl working there I do remember that. But their coffee was not that great. The dinner we had was nice but it was outside and it was freezing. So we were all shivering and by the time our food came out everything was pretty cold. The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! Everyone was nice but things took extra long when it shouldn't when no one was really there. I hope next time we visit this hotel it will be busier. The location and ambience were wonderful. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, whether you're dining as a couple or coming with a larger group. They take reservations in advance, but also accommodate walk-ins. I personally love outdoor seating, and their outdoor space was so peaceful and relaxing. We truly enjoyed how calm and zen the whole experience felt. Service was wonderful as well. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and our server gave us some really great recommendations. Now for the food, we genuinely loved everything we ordered. We started with the Crudo, which was so yummy, and the Beef Tartare, which was easily one of the best beef tartares I've ever had. Definitely in my top five! I'm also completely obsessed with their French fries. The tartare comes with a very generous portion, and those fries are SO addicting. I genuinely could not stop eating them. They are literally the perfect French fries to me, and I can't think of anywhere else that tops them right now. For our mains, we had the Grilled Octopus and Seared New England Scallops. The octopus and all of its accompaniments were absolutely astounding. We've never had anything quite like it, and the sauce was exceptional. My only note is that it was a little on the spicy side for me. Totally fine, I just don't have a very high spice tolerance, so I had to eat it a little more moderately, but the flavor was incredible. The Seared Scallops were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I love that you can choose the sauce to accompany them. Our server recommended her favorite, the red chimichurri, and I'm SO glad she did. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it myself, but it was the perfect complement to the scallops. We also got the affogato to finish off our lunch, which was great. And personally, I really enjoyed the biscotti cookies that came with it. I love that so many of the dishes are easily shareable, which makes it really fun to try a variety of things with the table. We can't wait to come back, bring others with us, and try even more of the menu. Such a fun experience and definitely a new favorite!

One thing to know: they have separate morning and dinner menus, and if you show up in between like we did, you'll be ordering from a more limited menu. Thankfully, "limited" here still gave us plenty to work with. We started with the clam chowder, which tasted incredibly fresh, creamy without being too heavy, and was a great start. Then came the burger and lobster roll, and both absolutely hit the spot. The lobster roll was loaded with big pieces of lobster, while the burger was simple, juicy, and paired perfectly with those thin crispy fries. Service deserves its own mention. Everything came out quickly, and what stood out most was how everyone seemed willing to help everyone. It didn't matter whose table it was--if a customer needed something, whoever was nearby stepped in. That kind of teamwork makes a restaurant feel very well run. Great food, beautiful Malibu atmosphere, fast service, and a team that actually pays attention. Definitely coming back, except next time I'm checking the clock first so I can properly attack the full menu.

My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. The staff are kind and attentive, even with us being tucked away in the back corner and hidden by a curtain panel.
