Not gonna lie to you - this place was not what I expected. Showed up after a driving a little ways with "award winning chowder" in mind. Sign says "Caffe Paradiso", not cafe heavenly, so that was a little confusing but fine. Wanted a full dinner, but wasn't sure what to get and we ordered a little all over the place but that doesn't change how some of the staff was. We started with the chowder and lobster bisque. The chowder was award winning, for me the lobster bisque wasn't far behind. Super creamy, flavorful, didnt skimp on dill or clams, its the full package of what a good clam chowder should be. The bisque fell a little short as far as lobster, but the overall soup was good. Following that the pizza came out, and immediately realized this is what you should actually come for. While sitting and eating, person after person came in for pizza and pizza alone. Coming from a born and raised New Yorker, this is actually official pizza. The lobster roll meal fell short. The lobster was ordered with extra lobster, this seemed to be true, the bread was soft, toasted. Standard lobster roll things, however, very overpriced. The salad had a sour taste to it, left it very quickly. Showing up, staff was not present. When they were present it was like they were present. No suggestions, not helpful, one of those times you entertain the idea of robots taking your order because that would've been better. The woman making the pizza was very kind and appreciated the hospitality she gave. After dinner, we tried to ask about the bathroom, couldn't find the original front staff for an answer. My husband and I have driven by this establishment several times when visiting New Symrna Beach and we always say, "We have to go there sometime." Well, today was the day. This free-standing establishment - either called "Cafe Heavenly" or "Cafe Paradiso" - is indeed heavenly. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile and offered free samples of gelato (made in house). We gladly tried a few of the flavors (they were all good) and did order some for dessert, but alas, I forgot to get pictures as we greedily shoveled it into our faces. The ambiance is casual, yet clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. For our main courses, my husband opted for the lobster roll with extra lobster (for an up charge). It came with a side Cesar salad. He said that the lobster roll was perfect (and he's from Maine and had many a lobster roll) and the salad was fresh. I ordered a Margarita pizza that they made fresh in they'd bright red wood fire oven. It was delicious- not too heavy, with fresh flavors and the perfect amount of toppings. There's no doubt we'll be back! P.S. - I took it upon myself to name the free-roaming chicken "Rodolfo" since the employees said that none of the wild chickens had names. Great option for dinner in New Smyrna Beach, right on Flagler Avenue! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. This location wasn't originally on my list since they're popular for pizza, lobster rolls, and gelato. I don't eat seafood and for some reason I can't stomach pizza when it's hot...and it was HOT. But turns out a lot of businesses in New Smyrna Beach are closed on Mondays which is the night I was there. Kudos to this place for being open and reaping the rewards of Monday diners. I had the chicken pesto "sandwich" with the side Caesar salad. The sandwich, while good, was really more like a pizza folded in half. They have a wood fired pizza oven on-site so the crust/bread was good. They were a few older couples dining next to me who were raving about their lobster rolls and chowder. They have indoor and outdoor dining options plus a drive-thru. I definitely recommend them next time you're in New Smyrna Beach. read more

Unexpectedly Awesome. I stopped in for a lobster roll but quickly discovered that this is a little gem with So. Much. More. The bisque soups were delightful and, as the sweet women behind the counter who kindly allowed me to sample them explained, are the original recipes that have been with the place for years and have been passed down even through changes in ownership. And the pizza... their pizza oven alone is seriously legit and the whole place smells SO GOOD... such that I had no choice but to try their pizza as well and it is EPIC. The menu is NOT the same as on their website. It is MUCH smaller so I was very disappointed when ordering since everything I was looking forward to was not actually on the menu. The food was very good and the service was quick and friendly. It is not fast food, it's made to order so it does take a little bit to receive your food but you can definitely taste how fresh it is. The girl who helped us was SUPER NICE, and she allowed us to taste most of the flavors (toasted coconut, salted caramel, espresso, crepe brûlée, and a few others)! Wonderful lunch. A quiet and unassuming little with wonderful thin crust pizza, phenomenal lobster rolls and bisque! Came here for the first time and were met by a couple that said they came from Orlando for the food. Sizable pieces of lobster in yummy sweet bread. Also got some gelato to take home. This is a great little food and smoothie joint down by the bridge on Flagler Ave! Over the years they have added a wood fire oven and a little bar to sit at. The menu is pretty expansive with wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, pizza, etc. They also serve a large variety of wines and have their own gelato case. The inside is very small but it is always kept clean. Due to convenience, I use the drive through. They are always prompt when answering and making my orders. Overall, all the staff is very kind and helpful! The best part about this place is definitely the smoothies! The ingredients always taste fresh and the smoothie is a perfect consistency. In addition, the price for the smoothies are fair for the size you get. However, a lot of their prices on their other food options are a bit high when compared to the other restaurants in the area. I'm not one to complain about price and I can definitely appreciate a good meal that's made with quality ingredients, but they should reconsider what they are charging. The service and food was amazing. I ordered the lobster bisque, was great. The one major complaint I had that is keeping me from rating this place 5 stars is that it was way too hot! I had to wait 10 minutes for it to cool down enough not to completely burn my mouth off, and that was only after putting 5 ice cubes in it which completely changed the taste and texture. I also don't think putting scolding hot soup in a styrofoam container and plastic spoon is the safest way to plate it. While I think that Cafe Heavenly offers lots of great variety and is a great spot with friendly staff, I thought the food seemed overhyped. I would rather see them tout their community vibes and quick and friendly service than their lobster.
