We requested a booth and were told a 10-15 minute wait. Although it was a shorter wait when we came up there the hostesses said there wasn't a booth available and is it ok for a high top. What was the point of asking us our preference in the first place. Our waitress wasn't friendly per se but she was on top of things and I prefer that. I didn't like the first drink I ordered (Banana Bread Old Fashioned) and she immediately remedied it and I ordered a Moscow Mule instead. She checked on it when it hadn't come in a timely fashion and made sure I got it and apologized for the wait since the bar was slammed. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were FRESH! I should've ordered a dozen more! I encountered a little shell but it comes with the territory of eating oysters. I ordered Otherside Tuna and enjoyed it. It was like a deconstructed seared tuna sushi salad without rice. We ordered the Combo Platter for each of us and that was a great deal for all the food and once again, everything tasted fresh! I have enjoyed steamed oysters here on multiple occasions. Yesterday sat at the bar and the staff was awesome. Enjoyed some fish dip which came with tortilla chips and extra diced jalapeños. My friend and I each enjoyed a dozen steamed oysters which came with the standard melted butter, cocktail sauce, horseradish and plenty of crackers. Nice decor at this spot. Great local place. We had: - A dozen oysters (from Texas that night) - 2 Lbs of snow crab legs - A Creole boil with shrimp and crawfish - A seared Ahi tuna dish - The Thai chili ribs - Some cheesy fries Dang. They hit it out of the park with just about all of it! The oysters were fresh, delicious and perfectly balanced. The snow crab legs were hot and served with plenty of drawn butter. The boil was good (a tad underseasoned if anything). The tuna was perfectly rare. The Thai ribs were a revelation - so delicious! The fries were your standard cheesy bacon fries, but were good. Let's just say that there might have been a few fries left, but nothing else survived! It was a great meal. read more

Came to OTH with my family for a casual dinner with lots of seafood. I really liked the casual decor with plenty of TVs for sports ( and not a super loud volume). We jumped into the oysters Rockefeller and raw bar shrimp followed by plenty of mains to share : the grouper Reuben, shrimp Po boy and the shrimp basket accompanied by fries and Slaw . Every time we stay in New Smyrna beach we visit Off the Hook for our first lunch. We always enjoy their food,but this time it was different. My wife had the shrimp tacos and she had very small tasteless shrimp.I had the blackened grouper which looked like a square cookie cutter piece of fish. It was very watery like it wasn't cooked enough and warm,not hot. The only thing good was the sangria. Next time we go to New Smyrna we will pass by OFF THE HOOK and try some where else. My wife ordered the poke wings and thought they were delicious. I ordered the crawfish etouffee, which is not the NewOrleans type. In spite of the difference, it was very good. We both had the clam chowder. Again it wasn't the original clam chowder, but a very good take on it. Our friends had the fish basket, and the shrimp basket. They both agreed that their meals were very good. Our server Madison is a fantastic server. She is friendly, helpful, and professional. The decor is a very nice nautical ambience, it doesn't look like a bate shop. They have a full service bar. We highly recommend Off the Hook Bar and Grill. We also tried their oysters Rockefeller, garlic parmesan oysters and Cajun shrimp. For drinks, our party ordered specialty drinks that came in take-home souvenir pints/tumbler/margarita glass - on our way out, the bar staff offered to rinsed our souvenir glassware before taking them home, love that! The crab legs were overcooked and so small you could barely get anything out of them for $42 for 1 pound. Cute spot in a strip mall (Publix, sushi restaurant, soft serve drive through/walk up, Italian restaurant). Really friendly servers. We sat at high boys by the bar. Lots of tvs in case of sporting event is on. Party of seven started with calamari and oysters. The calamari was crispy but the ostentatious weee a bit salty. There was a long back up from our wait for the foot but the brought out some corn fritters to bide the time. Also the no longer had the fresh. Aught fish between ordering and cooking.
