Grabbed a spot at the bar.

I heard about the "Adult Hot Chocolate" and decided to stop by while in the area. The hostess stepped away briefly, but the other staff were on their phones when I arrived and didn't acknowledge me until the hostess returned This is the first time at this location. I grabbed a seat at the bar where I was informed the bartenders were about to switch shifts. She was very attentive, took my order, and made sure to put in my drink order before leaving. The ambiance is somewhat casual and dimly lit, even during the afternoon.

Parking: Free and plentiful with a light walk to the door. Came in on a Sunday night to get some New Years planning started and was pleasantly surprised by how great of a spot this was! Even though it was 2 of us, the wait was about 20 minutes which shows just how packed and loved this spot is. It's not super large and is dim, intimate, eclectic and just an overall cool spot. Food: I had the spicy seafood dip and my friend had the grilled chicken brioche. We were both EXTREMELY pleased with our food. The seafood dip was creamy and full of flavor, the bread was soft and easy to dip. The only thing I wish is it came out a little hotter. Dessert: I had the chocolate hazelnut/nutella cheesecake and my friend had the apple crumble cheesecake. We both loved our cheesecakes! Dove was a phenomenal waitress and was able to make great recommendations to the both of us as we teetered between menu items. I would definitely recommend for a girls night out or a nightcap after a date! Next time, I'll be checking out their specialty coffees and teas or an espresso martini!

    Smoked Salmon Benedict | 6/23/2024

I've been here quite a few times; once for brunch, but many other times just for cheesecake. For the brunch, I tried the smoked salmon benedict and it was great. The eggs were poached to perfection and even the rosemary potatoes were delicious (I'm not a potato person but I ate the entire plate). Now the real star, or stars, of this place: the cheesecake! ANY flavor! My family and I love ordering a couple slices of different flavor profiles and we honestly cannot choose a favorite. One thing about it though, their cheesecakes are always consistently a hit. I highly recommend coming here just to have a slice.

Intermezzo is known for their desserts, I've been many times and their coffee, late night wine and cocktails as well as their cheesecakes and desserts are phenomenal! Unfortunately, the dinner here was just not up to par. The salad was a large portion and the presentation was nice, however the food was very bland. Also, caution on the patio, we had to move inside for some unfortunate bugs outside so just be seated inside during summer. Definitely try out their desserts however! I enjoyed their almond cheesecake!

    Tres Leches Torte

This is my fave chain to get dessert at if I'm in the area! My friend and I decided to pick out two slices to share and went with the tres leches and the fruit tart. The tres leches was delicious and loved how light it was and not overly sweet! It paired well with the whipped cream. I also enjoyed the cheesecake with berries and loved how the tart berries were a good contrast to the sweetness of the cake. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday night so my friend and I got our cakes to go so we could eat them outside where there were a good number of empty tables. There's also plenty of parking in the lot which makes it a nice spot to get dessert!

So I decided to go to this Cafe near where I hung out a lot. I took my son for a late late breakfast early early dinner. I had the Caesar salad with a filet of salmon on top. My son had the French toast with powder sugar and a side of bacon. Our server was Jamie. Lovely young lady very hospitable. I ordered my salmon medium and it came a little overcooked. The server was very kind to ask if I wanted another piece or to return it. I declined but the manager came over and automatically ordered me another piece and hand delivered it to my table. It was much better. It was warm and tasty.I love the Caesar salad dressing. She said they make it in house. My son loved the French toast. It was a lovely day and a lovely view to sit and people watch in the cafe.

Café Intermezzo remains a solid choice for a relaxed, unhurried café experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- perfect for a quiet conversation, light meal, or an afternoon pause with coffee. The food was good overall. The sandwich and sides were satisfying, and the tomato-based soup paired well with the bread -- comforting and straightforward, exactly what you expect from a European-style café. Coffee-wise, there's room for improvement. The Turkish coffee was a bit on the light side; I was hoping for a deeper, bolder intensity. The cappuccino was over-poured with milk, which muted the espresso flavor more than it should. Not bad, just not dialed in. Service was so-so -- polite but not particularly attentive -- though the laid-back setting makes it easy to overlook. All things considered, it was a nice, chill experience. A dependable spot with great ambiance and decent food, even if the coffee execution could be stronger.

    Salmon pasta

Nice romantic ambience and good service but the food wasn't good at all. My friend ordered the salmon pasta and it was barely any sauce on it. The salmon itself was very mid. I ordered the crepe and I wasn't impressed at all. I ate the meat out of it and tossed the rest. I wouldn't recommend these two dishes.

My favorite location Cafe Intermezzo has always been this Dunwoody location. This is the first Cafe Intermezzo I visited many many years ago, and honestly it feels nostalgic now. From coffee dates with my best friend when I was in college to now our wedding anniversary brunch, Cafe Intermezzo holds a very special place in my heart. I always get the Oreo cheesecake and Cafe Giandujia (Nutella latte!!!). Both were delicious as they always are. Since we came for lunch, my husband got the egg white omelette and I got the smoked salmon Benedict. Both are HUGE portions, and we definitely shared. We were able to easily get a table very easily on a Sunday around 1 which was a very nice surprise as well. Can't wait to come back again soon

Artichoke Spinach Dip, Cabernet and an espresso martini
    Dazziyah M.

I haven't been to this location for food, but I plan on doing that soon! My date enjoyed the spinach dip, I was not a fan of it though. The bread was very crispy with it and the flavor was okay. I looooved my espresso martini, it had a lot of baileys and was pretty sweet, just the way I like it! The service was great, we were checked on every so often. The ambiance is perfect for a date night! The lights are dim, there's a light at the table, not too loud, just perfect. Will def be back.

This review is strictly for the cookies and cream cheesecake, which is an absolutely delicious dessert. After brunch at a nearby restaurant, I decided to treat myself to a to-go dessert. The ordering process was simple, and the staff were friendly. This menu option continues to be one of my favorite desserts! Over the years, it has never disappointed!

Cafe Intermezzo has s distinct vibe. Something European maybe, it feels a little classy and is a great place for nice dinner, drink, or dessert. The food is solid, with a lovely cake display for dessert, and there are some great, distinct coffee/cocoa options in addition to their alcoholic beverage menu. Service is good, maybe a little slow, but that seems like it could be by design where they're not rushing you. People definitely come to linger over drinks and dessert.

    French dip

Food was solid, hummus and French dip really good as well as the coffee. The lighting was strange and it was really warm in there so that hurt the experience but overall I'd try again

Ask the Community - Cafe Intermezzo

    Do they serve drinks?

Yes. They have a beautiful full bar.

Are there slower times where it might be more comfortable for me to come in and get some work done on my laptop? I'm not afraid of crowds (not really), but I don't want to hog up a whole table for a couple of hours, and don't like feeling rushed. Thx

    Is it dog friendly?

Cafe Intermezzo is dog friendly. Our four legged customers may sit in the section of the restaurant that is not covered by a ceiling. Of course, service animals are permitted anywhere in the restaurant.

They were all good but the standout was the American Wagyu which was so flavorful and tender!

I've heard amazing things about Cuddlefish where I recently learned they had a cafe with their own…read morepastries and drinks. I saw a lot of social media about their hand roll (temaki) omakase and lunch special. Apparently, the quality and foundation of Cuddlefish has changed quite a lot within the past couple years. The prices have gone up, their staff busier than ever. There is free parking in the parking garage around the corner, which is super nice. It's less than a 5 min walk with plenty of spaces. The area is fairly nice because in winter, there's a roller skating ring, ice cream place (Ben and Jerry's), and cafe (Rosetta). Generally, you can make lunch or dinner reservations here, which I HIGHLY recommend as a CYA. There are outdoor and indoor seating, as well as temaki bar seating for if you choose to do the temaki omakase. If you do the omakase, make sure to arrive on time because the dishes are made in order by the chefs for everyone. It's every Monday and Tuesday for $79. When we arrived in the early afternoon for lunch, we were told it would be a 40 min wait and that we would be notified via text when a table opened up. However, we wound up waiting an hour before we were seated -- in fact at a time that was empty the entire time we were waiting. Our server came by once to say she was going to give us water (another person did) and to take our order. After that, she never even looked our way to our table or checked in with us. I'm not even sure that that blonde lady was even in charge of our table anymore at this point. I'm sure the place was dying down in terms of business because they were no longer seating people or accepting reservations. I think it's unprofessional to forget about your tables and to quite literally have a conversation with everyone else aside from your tables and not even glance in their direction. The lunch special includes 3 selected handrolls, cucumber salad, taiwanese popcorn chicken, and daily house dessert. I think it's super cute and fresh that they wrap their nori in a plastic wrapper to preserve the nori freshness and crispness. There's also the spicy tuna hosomaki with rice pearls, but it was a LOT of rice and overpowered by the crunch off the rice pearls. The cucumber salad was simple with a soy sauce based marinade. I think the cucumber slices were thin and tad flimsy, lacking crunch. The taiwanese chicken nuggets were abundant (priced normally at $10), good crunch with a hint of flavor from the basil. The dessert was actually quite delicious! It was like a soft moist peach cobbler in a muffin shape. It was sweet, moist, and flavorful -- as a great plating ended. Here were the 3 temakis starting with the best: yellowtail salsa, salmon + cucumbers, and shrimp katsu. The shrimp katsu had an overwhelming amount of fruits (pineapple and cantaloupe), and I feel like the katsu needed a bit of sauce to make sure it wasn't too dry. The pieces also quickly fell because of how small they were. The yellowtail overall had better flavor, especially with the toppings adding a bit of crunch. I think the lunch special would be worth trying as a newcomer, but it took 25-30 min for it to even come out. At the end, I think the fryer or machine broke but the hostess continued to seat people. So even people with reservations were turned away due to needing to reset the kitchen. I think now theres a lot of stipulations on their omakase and happy hour. For omakase, you're only allowed to order 3 at a time with one from each category and 2 hour limit, automatically combined with a 20% gratuity. Happy hour special is only Wed-Thurs 2-7pm with selected $5 temaki rolls and drink specials. It's supposed to give a very modern vibe. You are, in fact, given a QR code to pay.

I was super excited to finally get a REAL coffee shop in the neighborhood, especially since I have loved their Alpharetta location since 2020. It's not the cheapest bag of beans but it's definitely freshly roasted and good quality! I love their seasonal bevs - I've tried their fall drinks like the Tokyo Drift (Applewood smoked cortado, orange blossom syrup, freshly grated nutmeg, orange peel) and the Spice is Right (Iced, spicy, creamy, coffee cocktail vibe with cold brew, hot honey syrup, vanilla bean and milk). You can easily sub out alternate milks, even on the seasonal specialty drinks. I appreciate the themes and play on the seasons. And also just simple but delicious drinks like the Nitro Lavender Vanilla Oat Latte. The seating can be a huge issue. I seem to always stumble in during peak, maybe? There seems to be plenty of space but no seating/tables. Many tables for 2 or 4 would be taken by 1-2 people studying/working all day, which is understandable but still frustrating. There is some outdoor seating (dog friendly, woohoo!) but is extremely vulnerable to the elements. Overall, I'm grateful for more local and noncommercial coffee shops in Dunwoody! Bring em on!!

Cute spot to grab a quick bite. The menus had season items as well as make your own beverages. I was greeted and allowed to take a moment to look over them menu. I got one of their seasonal items . It was a lemonade espresso or something of that nature. I unfortunately don't remember the name but it tasted exactly how it was described. Also got an earl Gray cookie, which was more like a biscuit, it's a nice eyes and a hot a very pleasant taste. They have a section for water so you don't have to go to them and ask for it. It's just readily available. . Love the set up and how they play their items. It's very homey yet Café vibes. Exaggerated nicely in the bathroom really nice as well. It is a one person bathroom so there may be a wait when it's busy. -random note - if you're using Uber or Lyft in the area, maybe it just was the time that I went, but there were hardly any available. I had to wait over an hour to get a ride so just to keep in mind if you're someone who doesn't have a car or plans to get picked up from the area

Pros: Ambiance and the donut…read more Cons: Chai Latte. No flavor. I got the hi-fi syrup (brown sugar, clove, and anise), which gave it any sense of flavor. Otherwise it tasks like an iced glass of oat milk. They also some how forgot my single drink order with it not being busy. These 2 items were also $15, which I do NOT understand. Very disappointing over all and I won't be back.
