After dinner at a nearby restaurant, my friends and I decided we wanted to grab a sweet treat. Located in the Park Place plaza, although it was a busy time of night we were able to get in through the to-go line within about 10 minutes after ordering. The young lady that assisted us was helpful but I could tell that she was busy with assisting others who were at tables. I hadn't been to this location before could definitely tell that this place was just like the other locations - a nice place to just chill out and enjoy some good stuff. I opted for a slice of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and my husband ordered a slice of the Oreo cheesecake. I appreciate that the portions are generous and I knew I was not going to be able to eat everything during one sitting. Once we got home, I had a chance to eat a bit of the cheesecake and it was so delicious. I loved the bits of white chocolate and the balance of raspberry was perfect. Doesn't look pretty, but it's a hearty meal and the only Vegan option I noticed. Avocado - (A la carte) With no photo or description, I expected avocado slices. Unfortunately, I received a tablespoon of spread. They should provide a photo and more accurate description in the Yelp menu. I wrote three times, "Do not send utensils or napkins," so naturally, they sent SEVEN packs. So wasteful, and I don't understand the logic when food is being delivered to a home which presumably already has utensils and napkins. I wish all restaurants would send utensils by request only instead of by default. There was no wait time to be seated. We arrived around 11:00am and I was so shocked there was no wait time. I have been here before but a different location. The food came out fast. The service was great . Our waiter made rounds often to check on us and make sure we were good. The Belgium waffle was awesome. Eggs were really cheesy just how I like them. The chicken sausage was great also. The bacon could have been a little bit more crispy but after giving it some thought I didn't tell them crispy. Visited with friends last night and was highly disappointed. We've been to Dunwoody's Intermezzo several times for drinks & desserts but never food, and never again will we make that mistake. We were underwhelmed by the menu, my friend immediately called Eclipse Di Luna to ask for their wait times, though my fiancé and I insisted we gave Cafe Intermezzo a try and thought "ok, surely with these limited options they'd master these dishes". Friends had: raspberry french toast (which was drenched in jam and had to wait an additional 15 minutes for Log Cabin syrup), Chicken Florentine (which had weird pieces of slimy chicken in it). Another had a traditional American breakfast which was mediocre. Then me? Smoked salmon pasta. The salmon was so over salted, if there were capers and dill in it I'd of never tasted it because I sure as heck didn't see them either. Waiter asked if all was well, I said no, he did not hear me, I said it again because I truly did not like it. I've had the same dish better at Crispina's in Kennesaw. Given that we've enjoyed our experiences before, I wanted to give them another opportunity to wow me. Although our waiter was flustered, running into guests, and overall in 3 million places at once he promptly said he'd replace the dish with something else, which I did not expect after he said that's just "how the dish is". I thought he was going to be argumentative. After reviewing the menu again, I noticed a roast beef au jus sandwich and asked for it verbatim as it read on the menu. Was really excited for it! Waited another 30 minutes, waiter came out and handed it to me. Fiancé and I asked where the au jus sauce was, waiter said "oh that doesn't come with the ham and cheese". That's when I was finished. My entire table heard me say what I wanted, and they were embarrassed and also wanted to leave at this point. I explained to the waiter I did not want this, and do not want anything to replace it, and did not want a dessert. I was done. Shortly after the manager came up to the table. I understand that he needed to receive a clear understanding of where the mistake fell, although I really did not feel like having to explain my experience and did not ask for a manager. I stated this with the manager, I don't want to be angry, I do not want cake, comp the meal and we will likely still be back for drinks and dessert as it seems like that's what they specialize in. He had mentioned the ham and cheese, causing me to talk about the issue and embarrassing me and my friends again. I suggest to whomever reviews this: that management speaks to servers regarding poor service first, and if the party wishes to speak to management then do so. I had high expectations for Cafe Intermezzo, despite their 3 rating, so antagonizing me after I clearly stated I did not wish to discuss our experience, put the nail in the coffin. This wonderful bistro serves upscale food with a European ambiance. The patio area is partially covered and provides a nice outdoor experience while still offering some shade from the hot Atlanta sun. It's a great place to come for a meal, or for a coffee and dessert. The worst part of our meal was the slow service. Appetizers Spicy seafood dip with fresh baguette The creamy, cheesy dip has small pieces of seafood in it and has enough heat to be flavorful but not overpowering. Entrees CROQUE-Madame The dish comes with rosemary potatoes and is an excellent choice for a hardy breakfast. The creamy white sauce compliments a generous portion of ham and cheese. Spinach Salad Very refreshing and filling. I added grilled chicken which felt a little dry. The strawberry and lemon poppy vinaigrette worked well together! Arugula Salad The mango and arugula combo was good. I felt that it was missing more of the mango flavor and grilled chicken and it was a little bit dry, but it was good! Dessert Nutella & Banana Crepe -- we ordered this along with our Entrees, but it never came out. The waitress took it off our bill and gave it to us in a Togo box. Drinks Mimosa A balanced drink that isn't overwhelmingly bubbles Service We were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait when we arrived @10:30AM on a Sunday, but ended up waiting ~30 minutes. Not a problem because there's a nice courtyard outside the restaurant to wander around through, but it'd be good to have more accurate estimates. I went at 10am on a Sunday and enjoyed the quiet patio before the crowd picked up. Restaurant has extensive menus with something for everyone. Family friendly. Nice patio when weather is nice. Late night enjoy their extensive cocktails and desserts(probably their claim to fame) and early morning the extensive cafe menu has all the caffeine one needs. I ordered the latte(perfect) and the egg white grain bowl with chicken sausage. I couldn't find any grains so I added toast as well. My girlfriend and I dined here early on a Friday evening so it was a perfect opportunity to try out their dinner selection before our usual dessert order. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. The salad itself is $10 and you can add a variety of protein. For chicken, it's an additional $6.50. Now, $16.50 is pretty pricey for a basic B salad, but y'all -- this is the main reason I'm writing this update. The chicken Caesar was SO GOOD. It was filled with all the authentic flavors one should taste in a perfect Caesar dressing - the spice, the cream, even the lime. The cheese was of excellent quality, and the sourdough croutons were some of the best buttery pieces of heaven I've ever had. The chicken comes out warm on top of this excellent salad. It's very enjoyable!! As always the dessert was excellent. I went through the entire cake tour before ordering my trusty Oreo cheesecake. Super delicious! Service was perfect, probably one of the best servers I've ever had here. Shoutout to Ethan!! I love visiting this location and the other location in Avalon whenever I'm in Georgia. Honestly surprised they don't have a higher rating. The service is great and the atmosphere is lovely. I absolutely LOVE their tomato basil pasta with grilled chicken and highly recommend giving it a try. It is so rich and flavorful and the pasta sauce tastes homemade. I usually try to stay away from ordering pasta dishes at restaurants because I feel like the sauce is never flavorful enough but that is never the case here. Their Tuscan beet root salad is also super fresh and delicious. I also order the white chocolate hot chocolate and it is absolutely amazing. Their desserts are also great! I got the tiramisu cheesecake and it was delightful. My gf got the North Face and the lemon torte; the former was heavy on the Schnapps but I liked that we got our moneys worth, and the cake was heavenly. I really enjoy this intimate cafe tucked across the road from Perimeter mall. The location is super convenient and there were a lot of parking spots available so I really appreciate that. We got seated almost immediately on a Sunday morning and chose to sit inside but the outside had a good relaxing vibe to it that I would have enjoyed as well. The drink menu is extensive as they offer many types of coffee, cappuccino, coffee with alcohol, wine, tea, granitas, you name it. I chose the Turkish coffee ($5+) which I loved! The flavor was super unique and something I'd come back here for. We also got baked brie (~$9) that came paired with a freshly baked baguette that was pillowy soft on the inside.
