I got the pleasure of trying a classic mimosa which was okay 3/5 i also had chocolate milk which lacked flavor 3/5 and lastly to drink fresh orange which was amazing 5/5. To eat i had the Jolie scramble great flavor and the potato's were very crunchy and also seasoned well. I also had the crab cake Benedict had all the flavors you needed i lived in baltimore for a few years and the crab in this dish was amazing. The food came fast and waitress was kind and charismatic. Cafe Jolie is overpriced for the quality of food you receive; food was very basic. The overall restaurant is cute, clean and can be found in a great location of Alameda. We walked in and were pleasantly greeted by a young man, who we thought was our server, but later found out was the bus boy-Thx dude! Hubby and I enjoyed our breakfast on their outdoor patio. Our server, Sam's service was less than average. When she first came to our table she didn't even say her name, the initial introduction wasn't warm. She gave us our food and never really checked in on us. Plus, there was a wait until she came out to provide us our bill. Service just wasn't up there for me. Like I said, the food was pretty basic. My steak was over cooked, but my over easy egg was cooked perfectly and the side of potatoes were nice and crispy! The hubby ordered bacon, but sausage came with his breakfast, meh-whatever. for me this has always been a very pleasant "treat yo' self" experience. maybe a little bourgeois for me most of the time, and probably not the low calorie option, but delicious. We went to Cafe Jolie Petit on Bay Farm island and it was wonderful! Staff was friendly, the seating outdoors was really nice and the food was great! I called in my order of Crab Cakes Benedict ($15) and a half order of beignets ($12) for pickup. I made the mistake of ordering on a Saturday afternoon, since I forgot there's also the Farmer's Market which means parking can be a challenge during this time. The Crab Cake Benedict gets 5 stars. The Mornay sauce was delicious and went perfectly with the crab cakes. The country potatoes were nicely seasoned and I liked how some were crispy. Speaking of crispy.....one thing that shouldn't be crispy and crunchy, are beignets. These beignets deserve 1 Star. Beignets are typically fried, yet soft and doughy. The ones I received in my order made a noticeable crunch sound and they were hollow inside. It's almost as if they were left in the fryer too long or forgotten about. Or maybe they forgot the yeast? I sent a pic to my sister and she thought it was fried chicken skin! It also didn't have any flavor. The only thing I could taste was grease. What a disappointment since the pics that people posted of their beignets look more in line of what I was expecting. This place has good food but I don't think it's worth the price. The food was OKAY. The mimosas weren't fresh. The bacon was cooked too long it was hard. The French toast wasn't anything to brag about. The beignets were delicious though. Warm with all the topings. We came because we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to listen to some live music. But the musician was outside on the other end of the cafe so we couldn't hear him which was one of the main reasons why we came. First time here, I'm actually not a big breakfast person hence the most basic of breakfast option. The food was really great and cooked perfectly. My sister got the kids pancakes and they looked amazing too. She loved it. The service was so great. Considering how busy they were, we were check on and taken care of. I suppose it was pretty happening at 9:30 or so but the experience here was something I would not wish on anyone. 1. Our food came 30 minutes after we ordered. Tables around us that were seated and ordered after us got their food first. 2. Our food finally came but there were no utensils given to us- we had to get up and find someone to give us utensils- imagine seeing your food but not able to eat it. 3. My two hangry toddlers never got their kids meal - basic chocolate pancakes and side of chicken sausage. After another 10 min~ (40 min total) kids are soo hungry we decided to cancel the order and just give them our food. 4. Our check came and we were charged for the sausage that we never got. I wish I had liked the place more. The food was good but not for 30-40 min wait after ordering your food, and especially not with little hungry kids. Bonjour! Cafe Jolie is a cute and popular spot that can get quite busy on weekends so reservations are recommended (don't be a dunce like moi). Their menu offers up a nice variety of French toast. We selected the cinnamon French toast, which is stuffed with sweetened cream cheese and topped with mixed berries and a side of syrup. (Side note: if any of y'all try the croissant French toast, holla at your girl and let me know if it's worth the calories) Bae and I also split a customized omelette with chicken sausage, spinach, and gruyere (a specialty add-on even though it wasn't on the menu). This was accompanied by potatoes (meh and dry - ketchup was a must), toast, and a couple of pieces of fruit (slice of orange and half a strawberry). Mimosas weren't bottomless unfortunately and ran $8 per glass. Food overall was tasty and somewhat worth the price. Ambience was pleasant and despite being busy, the server still managed to refill our water and our mimosas. This place is great for both friends and family. It's warm and inviting, the menu is diverse, the service is decent, the seating doesn't make you feel claustrophobic (opt for a booth if you can or sit in the patio if you're bringing the doggo), and you won't go broke trying to be a brunch goer. Would I dine here again? Absolutely, but I would also make reservations to avoid the wait (which wasn't too terrible, about 20 min). Quite disappointed this morning. The service was not good. To be fair, it was rather busy, however, from the time we placed our order, our drink orders came staggered (cold drinks first, 10 mins later the matcha drink arrived, then "after having to ask for my coffee" 10 mins later... mins came right before the meal arrived). We watched our server busy behind the counter, placing orders and printing out people's checks for 10-mins and never looked our way. I decided to try this place because it had a 4 star rating. I have to say I was disappointed. This was just an over priced Dennys and the service wasn't any better. We walked in and there was no friendly greeting, the host just asked "how many people?" And took us to a table. I ordered a coke and it was flat. My boyfriend ordered a latte and he accidentally spilled it on himself. One of the workers gave him a wet towel to clean himself up, but did anyone come by and bother to replace it? NO! Love this cute little cafe in Alameda. I have visited for breakfast twice now, and it has been a top notch experience both times. This last time, I ordered a hot tea and a Champignons omelet. The omelet was simple but delightful, with mushrooms, chives and Gouda. It was served with crispy breakfast potatoes and choice of toast. Sourdough, always. My friend ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict at our waitress's recommendation. They looked amazing. Our table also shared a small order of Beignets. They are served dusted with powdered sugar, and with a chocolate sauce and sliced strawberries. Heavenly. Parking is street only as far as I could tell, so I imagine it could get difficult to find a spot during busy times. We were there in a weekday morning, and while the place was fairly busy, our food arrived quickly. They also have a lunch menu, but I haven't had a chance to sample anything from it just yet. My son and were excited to get up early for a Mother's Day breakfast at Cafe Jolie. We were seated right away and the place was not even 1/2 full but it took awhile for a server to take our order. My son ordered his eggs over hard, potatoes and french toast and I ordered the eggs benedict. He had hot chocolate, I had mocha latte. We waited a long time for our drinks (luke warm) and way longer for our food. My potatoes were barely warm, my 'poached' eggs were hard and had a tiny drizzle of hollandaise sauce and my son's eggs came runny and his potatoes were cold. We never saw the server who originally took our order again so I had to get up and ask someone else to come to the table. When she came she said they could bring some new eggs. I didn't eat any of my breakfast and waited for the eggs... that never came. We finally had a chance to try this place. It has a great feel , warm and cozy, nice but not stuffy. The service was really good. We never had to ask for a refill and everything came out fast and hot. The food - My wife had the Jolie special , classic breakfast done right. I had the monte Cristo and it was the best I've ever had. Not soggy, not greasy. If you love the classic monte , you have to try this one. They're hard to find and ever harder to find a good one. The croissant french toast, really good with a good buttery flavor. Fresh fruit on top, not mushy and frozen like most places. The beignets were nice and fluffy.
