I love Cafe Lapin. A perfect place to get a great breakfast or get a nice fresh sandwich and homemade soup. They are constantly changing their soups which is great! The servers are nice and attentive although sometimes it can get very busy quickly but the food always comes out great. Ive yet to try dinner yet but I've heard their are no corkage fees which sounds great. read more

Cafe Lapin is a delightful little restaurant in Peachtree Battle Sopping Center. Lunch is mainly salad, soups and a variety of chicken salads plus quiches which vary daily. Dinner menu changes,but the meat loaf seems to be a staple. Cookies and cakes are the best around and can be taken home easily! Brunch is very good. Omlets are free of ghastly baking powder you find in some breakfast chains.. Service can vary greatly, seems to depend on wait staff on duty, not on the manager. They could work on that but otherwise excellent experience and often the service lives up to the food. read more

Great place to go for a nice meal without having to spend a fortune. There are very few places in Atlanta I've been where I wanted a taste of all 6 entrees that were ordered. Bring your own bottle and celebrate the fact that there isn't a corkage fee. We took a group and kept it under $40 per couple for a great entree, good salad and bread. Okay so wanting a good Sunday Brunch the bf and I headed to Cafe Lapin, the sign outside proclaims Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and reading about it thought it might be a little nicer than our normal Buckhead Bread Co. We stumbled in at a little past 11:30 only to be told that in fact they had stopped serving breakfast. No weekend brunch, here in the south. Come on even the bars in the area serve a brunch on weekends. So getting over my craving for some sausage and grits we turned out attention to the lunch menu. Selection was okay and I settled on the Chicken Salad Sandwich and the BF got Ham and Cheese. Both were okay, mine was very dry and I tried to flag down my server for at least 5 minutes to get something, Mayo/Mustard anything to add some moisture to my thick bread slices. We ordered the coffee and for anyone considering this-dont. It was by far the worst $2.00 cup of coffee I have had anywhere, there were grounds in my cup and a very stale bitter tast. All in all I dont think I will return, it was okay but for the price I will go to Savor close by for a good sandwich. read more

Had the most torturous experience at this cafe today.. and we were one among many. We saw 2 parties leave their respective tables in frustration.. but we still stuck it out .. and quite regretted it eventually. After waiting for about 30 mins to be seated, we waited for our water and coffee to arrive for even longer. Finally someone took our food order, and after a torturous long wait, brought it with half the ordered items missing.. geez! My review in a nutshell.. the ambiance is OK, the food is just about average (definitely NOT 'worth the wait'!), the prices are decent but the service is very poor.. I'm not sure whether that's because they're severely understaffed or highly incompetent.. but regardless, it does not amount to a good dining ( or 'brunching', if you will! ) experience. We ate their last Easter and had a wonderful meal with no issues. So this Easter, we again decided to make reservations there. Most at the table really enjoyed their food and raved over it. However, the issue is THE SERVICE - or LACK OF SERVICE. Our waiter sat at a computer with his back to us most of the time. He was either looking at the computer or playing on his cellphone. We had to ask for refills to our drinks. When I asked for a refill of my COMPLETELY EMPTY glass of tea, he filled it up about halfway with more tea - ZERO ICE in the glass and no offer to get any. We then asked him to refill all the empty glasses of water and it was the same, water with no ice (the glasses were so empty we had drank all the melted ice as well). When he ran out of water in his container, he just walked away never returning to refill the final glass. The coffee was cold and we had to BEG for cream. As we were leaving, my husband commented that was our last time to ever go there. So sad when the employees are what ruins a wonderfully cooked meal. read more

A friend and I threw a small baby shower at Cafe Lapin about a month ago. Wow. Everything was perfect and the staff were a dream to work with. They gave us a VERY reasonable rate, with everything included (choice of entree, soda/coffee/tea, and cake), which was very helpful. They set us up along the side of the restaurant, made sure we had plenty of space, set up flowers and a gift/cake table, helped us carry everything out to cars, and were in general just completely attentive. I cannot say enough good things--we just had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Oh, and the food was delish, too. I highly recommend. read more

I came here with my friend (who is very pregnant) to get dessert one day at lunchtime. We bought our desserts and when my pregnant friend sat down to eat it she was asked if we were having lunch. She said no, we were just going to eat our pastries and he said you can't sit at the table unless you are having lunch with us! I could understand if there weren't very many open tables, but half of the tables were empty! I was shocked that we were not given the courtesy to sit down for 10 minutes and eat the pastries that we had just purchased. Before I describe the ambiance, food and services, let me start with the basics. We love brunch places that we can make a reservation and Cafe Lapin meets that first requirement. Then there is free parking. The place is a cafe not a food factory (like the place in the same shopping center). It is small restaurant with a feel of Parisian cafe. Always check the board by the pastry table for the daily specials. The waiter may or may not point them out. Do not be in a rush. I had an egg white omelette with mushrooms and cheese (yum) with creamy grits (yum) and baguette (dry) . Ordered a container of chicken walnut salad to go (good but sweet) I will try the tarragon. Friendly service but not always speedy. Worked for us. One of these days I will try their coconut cake. And - yes a very good cup of coffee. read more

I call this the Bunny Cafe - it is a ladies luncheon type place that I often frequent with my mother. Everything that I have had is delicous, but the highlights are the chocolate chip cookies and the Apricot Chicken Salad. I have actually purchased a whole pint of the apricot chicken salad to go and polished it off in one sitting (I will add that I am pregnant right now). The atmosphere is lacking, given it's location in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center and the general decor. The service is also strange, not necessarily bad, but just weird. It is a little pricey for an every day lunch, but perfect for once every other week or so. It gets a 4 star because the food is just so good! read more

In the short time Lapin has been open, we have tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (No we did not get stuck there. Separate days.) It is a great find for these times...maybe for any time. Prices are reasonable, food is very well prepared with quality ingredients, and owners and wait staff are all trying very hard to make things work well. Generally they are succeeding. And there's the plus of no liquor license yet, so you can bring your own wine and there is no corkage charge. Favorites so far: meat loaf, turkey vegetable soup, a great hamburger, and desserts you will not be able to pass up. The sampler salad plate at lunch is also a winner. We hear these days about banks that are judged "too big to fail". This restaurant is too good to fail. It deserves our support. read more

I've been waiting for months for this little spot to open! Turns out, it's white table cloth service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate lunch there yesterday. The menu is similar in some ways to Cafe at Pharr, though they put more emphasis on the decor and have additions such as quiche, soups and unique sandwiches. They also have a GREAT looking bakery case. I had the salad sampler - chicken salad, egg salad and beet salad w/ mixed greens. All were great w/ not too much mayo. I had to ask for a piece of bread - they should serve it with all the salads or as a starter when you sit down. I had the wheat which I think is made on site and is delish. Hubby had grilled pimiento cheese and bacon. YUM. It was a bit small, but with that richness I guess it shouldn't be too big. I talked with the owner - they have an existing spot in ADAC and have expanded over to the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center. They are also doing catering out of this new location. For dinner, he said the menu changes nightly - last night it was supposed to be seafood lasagne, meatloaf, roast chicken, etc. No beer/wine license right now, so he said feel free to BYOB. Some minor complaints that I'm sure can be resolved w/ time - the place was cold! Concrete floors can do that, I guess. Service was moderate... I think they are figuring out what the crowds are going to be like. It's only been open for 2-3 weeks, so I'll give em a break. Will definitely make a return trip - maybe for dinner. read more

I met several friends from our neighborhood for lunch at Café Lapin. Everyone enjoyed their meals! I had the curry chicken salad which came with a side salad and another choice of side. The chicken salad and the side salad was really nice. The choices on additional sides without paying extra is small...I tried a cold corn mixture and wasn't crazy about it...a lot of onion and not a lot of flavor outside of that. If I go again, I will ask for double salad. Also some lunches came with a slice of banana bread...mine did not. I was able to try someone's and it was tasty...I will request that next time too :) Overall, some good points with the chicken salad and side salad, some missteps with the additional side choices and service was OK. We requested separate checks, but the server provided one...we had to request refills on beverages more than once and after requesting, the service really wasn't that prompt. Great little cafe in an unassuming space. Went here with my Groupon and thought it was totally worth the price (discount or none). The service was slow but so is the service in France... think of it as getting the full experience? Plus, they allow you to bring your own wine and uncork it without charge as soon as you sit down so that you can enjoy your wine while you wait. French onion soup was perfect and not too cheesy, root vegetable beignets had an interesting texture/ tasted good and not overfried, and the salmon was perfectly served with a delicious cream sauce. The best part of this entire meal, however, was a chocolate banana cake that was to-die-for... still talking about it today. That, and, our server was very friendly and checked on us multiple times just to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience. Will definitely go back here! read more

All of the food was well-priced (less than $10 per person for brunch), delicious, and the service was great. We brought our own bottle of champagne and they immediately got us an ice bucket, chilled glasses, and opened it for us. They made great recommendations for dessert and were very attentive. It was a cute place for ladies to hang out and have lunch. Kind of a little hideaway close to home. I got the Tuna Melt and it was good but the side I choose was the beet and orange salad. I love fresh beets and these tasted like they came out of the jar and the tiny oranges (mandarins) came out of a can. This tiny side was a big disappointment. I think they could of done better. I work in the shopping center where Cafe Lapin is located and 4 employees including myself became extremely ill after eating the curry chicken salad. I went in to the restaurant and told them about it and didn't even get an apology! The guy working also said tons of customers have called in feeling sick from the chicken salad! One person even felt sick from the breakfast they had there! I would not recommend eating here! The food is good but just a fair warning...you may get food poisoning if you decide to eat there! read more

Better cakes than Piece of Cake. All made from scratch! This place is brilliant because it has everything you could possibly be craving on the menu. Not to mention a lot of this food is really healthy. They have so many chicken salads! Tarragon, curry, walnut, apricot, and jalapeno so quite a wide selection and it doesn't end there! They also have tuna salad AND shrimp salad. I love the walnut chicken salad on a croissant (If you're looking for more heart healthy, they also informed me they can do any of the salads as a sandwich on multigrain, white bread, or a baguette). I went for breakfast on multiple occasions and I had the scallops and grits (Best grits I have had in Atlanta. No exaggeration). I also went for brunch and had the french toast with a side of hashbrowns (Which I added cheese to because when I go out, I go all out). I had a piece of carrot cake to go and it was so fresh and the icing melted in my mouth. I live around the corner so I come here all the time. I don't get why anyone would go to Zoe's for such a plain chicken salad when this place is literally a few doors down. Anyway, I spoke with the owners when I frequented the place a couple of days ago and I just wanted to get on here and rave about it! The food was OK, not that tasty for the relatively high price. We ordered a shrimp quiche, barely tasted the shrimp, and found out that our bill included and extra $2.00 for the "flavored shrimp" sea food. I'm not a big eater but after leaving Cafe Lapin I was still hungry!!!! I think the portions are too small or "a la francaise" (French portions). Unfortunately, I do not have a review of the food at this restaurant because the wait staff was so rude to my group of friends that we left! One of the women in my group had been there before and suggested eating there during an early "Mother's Day" trip to the Princess Diana exhibit at the Civic Center today. She had gushed about the french ambiance and delicious food so we all decided to give it a try. We were not greeted by any waitstaff and went to seat ourselves but the only table that could accomodate all five of us we not cleared yet. A male employee came up to us and told us we could pull two smaller tables together because "it would take a while" to clear the other larger table. The restaurant was not full and it was noon on a Sunday so they should have been better prepared for a lunch crowd. Even if they were short-staffed, if the man had cracked a smile we would have overlooked this rudeness. When asking for another brunch menu the waitress rolled her eyes at us and said "What do you want?". It was the most rude waitstaff I have ever encountered. We ended up leaving after our waters and iced teas arrived and encountered the same man outside who had pushed our tables together. After my sister-in-law asked who the manager was and he replied with "you are looking at it" and told us that "maybe this wasn't the restaurant for us we definitely left. I guess they just didn't need our money... if that was the manager he needs to have some training in customer service,public relations and manners. It was the most appalling service I have ever encountered-- if they treat people like that no amount of wonderful food will keep this business from failing--especially in Peachtree Battle shopping center. Shame on you Cafe Lapin!! I am telling everyone I know to NOT patronize your restaurant!! read more

We have tried Cafe Lapin many times and have always been disappointed. The service is AWFUL, the owners are rude, and the food just isn't good enough to make up for it. I have tried going at off-times and placing to-go orders to see if they can redeem themselves, but have had terrible experiences. I'm giving up on the place; I will never go there again. read more

A frequent customer of Cafe Lapin for lunch and dinner, until this week I had never had their breakfast. Our small party agreed to order different items from the menu in order to sample several of their specialities. In my opinion, an all together wonderful start to the day. Service was wonderful and the food superb. I had the mushroom, leek, and cheese omelette another friend the mushroom leek quiche, we added on strawberry pancakes, croissants, and a blueberry muffin. Not a single item was disappointing, in fact, it was all wonderfully and skillfully prepared and presented. With Christmas close at hand, I also requested a whole turkey breast for the table at home. We picked it up Christmas Eve. The wonderful aroma from the turkey filled the car on the trip home and of course I had a sample. I kept my opinion to myself but Christmas day we had six guest for dinner - everyone raved about the turkey and asked for seconds. It was all of the things you hope for when you cook turkey - moist, wonderfully seasoned and it sliced like a dream. So, Cafe Lapin is my go to place in Atlanta. I cannot comment on the food since I have never actually eaten the food, but the customer service is abominable. We purchased a Groupon which expired in July. We had forgotten about it and it expired the next day. We tried to go eat there, but found out that they had changed their hours without bothering to change their website, Facebook page, or voicemail all of which said that they would be open that night. Of course, this meant that our Groupon expired without us being able to use it. We called to complain about the surprise change in hours and the first person we talked to claimed to not know the owner or a manager. A man named Jim claiming to be the owner called back later and said it was ok we could just come in another day and they would honor the Groupon even though it had expired. We called to confirm that they were open and that they would still honor the Groupon and the same waiter answered was incredibly rude and hung up on us. We called back and Jim answered again. He refused to honor the Groupon like he said he would and when we informed him of how rude the waiter who answered the phone was he informed us that they had been trained to answer the phone that way. Given our experience on the phone I cannot imagine how the actual service would be. read more
