Light, fresh, and with just a hint of sweetness from the passion fruit dressing. * Tuna tartare: Excellent. When dessert arrived, he had chocolate syrup written to say "Happy Anniversary," complete with candle sparklers. We were completely caught off guard. That level of observation and thoughtfulness is what memorable hospitality looks like. I'll also acknowledge that I had some hesitation coming back. I had a reservation here a few years ago and was turned away because I was wearing jeans, which honestly left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Le Bilboquet is undeniably high-end and clearly makes an effort to curate its atmosphere and clientele, which I can respect, even if that particular experience was disappointing. After giving it another shot, I'm really glad I did. This lunch was lovely from start to finish. I also noticed several guests wearing jeans this time around, so perhaps the dress code has relaxed a bit. Bottom line: Refined, polished, excellent food and genuinely exceptional hospitality. My wife and I used to be regulars at Le Bilboquet, going about once a month. We always enjoyed our visits, and the veal with mashed potatoes was one of our favorite dishes. We hadn't been in about a year and a half, so we were really looking forward to returning on Saturday night. Unfortunately, we couldn't have been more disappointed. We had a 6:30 reservation, and the restaurant was not particularly crowded when we arrived. We politely asked the maître d' if we could have a booth. Without even looking up, he initially told us there weren't any available. A moment later, he said he had found one for us. When we were seated, however, there were crumbs all over the bench. That is simply not the level of cleanliness or attention to detail we had come to expect from Le Bilboquet. The service, which used to be one of the highlights of dining there, was also noticeably disappointing. The staff were no longer dressed in the polished uniforms we remembered. The women were wearing pink pants and shirts that looked much more casual and, frankly, somewhat sloppy for a restaurant at this price point. Even the bread service was disappointing. The French bread that was supposed to be served hot arrived cold and stale. They had also added a rye bread, which was not good either. We had to ask for the bread rather than having it brought to us as part of the normal service. These may seem like small details, but at a restaurant of this caliber and price point, the little things matter. Then came the biggest disappointment: the menu had completely changed. We specifically came back looking forward to the veal and mashed potatoes that we had loved so much, only to find that they were no longer on the menu. We also noticed that the floors looked dirty, which added to the overall impression that the restaurant has lost some of the attention to detail and elegance that made it special to us in the past. We understand that restaurants change, and we certainly don't expect everything to remain exactly the same. But Le Bilboquet was once a place where the food, service, atmosphere, and presentation all justified the very high prices. On this visit, none of those things lived up to our previous experiences. Our dinner ended up costing more than $250 after tax and tip, which is a significant amount of money for two people. At that price, we expect exceptional food, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere. This is my first visit ever and so glad that we made the reservation, even though it was not full. But we also have an early reservation for dinner. Little trick is that if you decide to use the valet in the little square area, they will validate your parking. However, since it is located in Buckhead Village parking can be a challenge at times, however very cheap at two dollars an hour. This is significantly cheaper to downtown Chicago or any other section of Chicago equivalent to Buckhead Village where it is over $14 an hour on the street parking. Anyhow, let me say that Pedro our server was fantastic. He is so full of personality and courtesy and super patient with us. I've read many reviews to talk about slow service and I have to say it is not slow service. It is simply them telling you that they are not rushing you through a meal that is to be enjoyed in an amazing ambience. And they let you move at your pace, which is fantastic. You can tell by the photos we ordered quite a bit of food and everything was absolutely delicious as there were no leftovers whatsoever My only complaint about the place is first the velvet chairs and benches make it very hard to scoot on in or get off Further, you have to pay for bread service here, which I do not believe in. Considering the prices, the bread, even if it was minimal bread and butter should be complementary. The interior is cute & great for date night, we went on a double date. -We brought our own wine bottle & they open for a corkage fee -We tried both the salmon & tuna tartare (the 4 of us shared) and each was yummy in its own way (different flavors). -We ordered the charcuterie board, yummy as well but definitely better for 2 to share instead of 4 due to portion size. -Main entree for me was the mussels which cane with fries & OMG I will come back JUST for the mussels & fries. Everything was absolutely phenomenal -- a true masterclass of culinary perfection (especially the mashed potatoes). The restaurant was fairly empty and quiet with some nice background music and the timing on dishes was great however they do not serve entrees all at once so I'd request that if it matters to you. The outdoors ambiance have always been inviting and the menu french enough that we wanted to try this out after a long time. Unfortunately the food and service were subpar, the prime location deserves much better food for those prices. The tuna tartare did not have any tuna taste with a tiny cracker, the hangar steak was overcooked for a medium rare, and the mussels were tiny, the broth was flavorless. Only the green salad was crispy and good. The service staff seemed very inexperienced, dropped stuff multiple times, missed to bring a bowl for the mussel shells, and spilled the broth all over the table at the end, wine glass had lip marks on it, napkins had stains. $5 for 6 tiny slices of baguette and butter seems so unnecessary. Parking is validated but the staff does not offer to take care of entering the number for you so you have to go inside and ask for it at the host - simple things but overall experience. read more

Appetizers: Tuna and Beef Tartare and Terrine de Pate Foie Gras. My favorite was the Tuna. The pate had a fig jelly that made the dish just right. So much flavor! Entrees: My boyfriend had the Bronzino and said it was wonderful and delicate. The crispy skin was delicious. The creamed spinach and potato's were a fine accompaniment. I had the mussels which came with a side of fries. The broth was excellent. Fries on point. Dessert: we all enjoyed a cappuccino. We shared Les Profiteroles which were filled with ice cream. The chocolate sauce was some of the best I've had. Our friends had the Tarte Tatine. We sat to the left of the door. Music was a bit loud all night. Very oddly, the owner (manager?) turned the music up to a level that was ear shattering and unbearable at 11 pm. I was so excited to try out Le Bilboquet. The decor was nice and the menu sounded great. I went for Brunch with my brother and my 7 year old during our visit to Atlanta. The restaurant wasn't full, but when we asked for a table the host just looked us up and down and said " I can sit you in the covered patio area", basically hidden out to the side even though there was plenty of open seating. No one else was seated there and they tried to sit us next to a giant fan less than a foot away from the seat. Guess they didn't like how we looked and wanted to hide us. In hind-site we should have just left. We weren't poorly dressed either. At least not any different than others sitting in the nicer areas. Oh well, guess I won't come here again in my next visit to Atlanta. The food was good but the service took away from the experience. This place is a bit too pretentious for my taste. read more

Came here for restaurant week I've walked by Le Bibloquet (more affectionately called "Le bib") multiple times and have always wanted to try it out. The last time we tried to get in this shirtless man was smoking a cigarette and really partying it up within feet of their outdoor patio area. We saw the Buckhead Village security swoop in to quickly diffuse the party bomb. After being around so much testosterone in a 30 second period, we decided to go to Le colonial instead to escape the wild streets of Buckhead. Now that I got to try it I have to say - it was a night of lurid highs and tenuous lows. Let's start with the best I got the "Summer in Nice" cocktail to start. Wow, what a beautifully complex citrusy explosion of flavor. I'm not really a fan of citrus forward cocktails because it's challenging to balance tartness with sweetness. They did it perfectly here. The expresso martini was silky smooth and rich. I thought they added cardamon because of how subtle the sweet notes were in it. It was not cardamon though - and if I figure it out I will be making these at home daily The Cajun chicken was one of the most flavorful hunks of meat I've put in my mouth. It's downright impossible to flavor chicken this well. The only chicken dish I've had that can hold a candle to this dish was the chicken course from The Modern. The 1 star deduction comes from the tomato gazpacho. I found the whole thing to be horrifyingly one dimensional. I struggled to finish off even a fourth of it. They definitely need to revise the recipe and add in more texture or a greater depth of flavor so it changes slightly as you dig deeper into it. The dessert course was tasty - but nothing to really write home about. Overall - I'm glad I got to try "Le bib" and I will be back to order at least two of those Cajun chicken entrees - which will be eaten sequentially as my appetizer and entree. read more

On my most recent trip to Le Bilboquet, I noted changes to the menu. First, in terms of cocktails, the selections appeared to be innovative and I enjoyed the couple that I tasted. The dining room is certainly elegant, and outside is wonderful when the weather is good. August in Atlanta, however, doesn't afford that opportunity. In terms of food, the steak tartare, escargot and oysters all pleased our crowd for appetizers. In terms of entrees, the duck confit and the lamb stew were both excellent! The lamb had a mild Indian curry taste without the spice. Service was well done, and the kitchen was accommodating especially with a few members of our party having dietary restrictions. While there are quite a few French restaurants in Atlanta, this one is worth the trip. read more

I highly recommend that you have lunch or dinner at Le Bilboquet. I have been there several times, but on this particular occasion, I brought two friends with me who had never eaten there. The salads are amazing, especially the one with crab in it. We enjoyed the Cajun chicken, the steak frites, and the salmon. I have to tell you that our waiter, Deon, was amazing. Of course he knew everything about the menu and gave us great service, but it was such a joy to meet one of the happiest people I have ever known. I was visiting Atlanta and this restaurant was recommended to us! Parking can be hard in downtown Buckhead area- we parked in a garage across from the dog park. This garage they don't validate parking for, but another one they do. The area is really cute with lots of shops. It was a cold winter day, so the patio was closed but the setup outside looked nice! We sat at a corner booth table. Inside the restaurant was nice- it had a european decor. It is also very dimly lit, but wasnt too noisy. Our server was very helpful and checked in on us the perfect amount! The bread and butter to start truly reminds me of Paris! A crusty baguette and a really great salted butter. We started with the shrimp cocktail and whoa were those shrimp jumbo! It came with two sauces- cocktail and comeback- Shrimp was very fresh! I got the Cajun chicken for my entree and the other person got the Branzino. Both were really good! I heard rave reviews about the Cajun chicken so I had to try it! It comes with fries and a small mixed greens salad. The fries were crispy and flavorful! The chicken was seasoned and moist- my favorite part was the sauce that accompanied it! You can valet or you can park in the underground self parking lot nearby. We chose to park in the self parking lot but when trying to return to the lot we found that the door to the parking lot entrance was locked and had to go into a different entrance. They also validate parking for the Buckhead village parking deck for up to 2 hours. Just be sure to get your ticket validated at the host stand. We started with some cocktails. We got the tequila cocktail and the gin cocktail. All the drink options were so unique! For an appetizer, we got the tuna tartare. It was good, but I'd try something different next time. So although Le Bilboquet is not authentic French Made cuisine IMO, I did used to like the food. My recent visits have been inconsistent with some being ok, others being not so great and even the most recent lacking taste & flavor. Service wise, I'd say the service is still great. I had such an amazing experience celebrating my mother's birthday at Le Bilboquet! The food was DELICIOUS. From presentation to the complex flavors experienced in each dish, everything was perfection. We had the beef tartare and crab avocado salad to start which were both lively and fresh on the palate. For entrees we enjoyed the squid ink tagliatelle (best calamari evaa), Australian lamb curry, and steak frites. Not only was the food divine but the ambience really transported you to a cute restaurant in Paris offering top tier service from the wait staff. They don't come much worse than this faux- Frenchie operated by people who have probably never been to France, never seen An American in Paris and never heard of Leslie Caron or even Amelie. Their idea of Paris is pommes frites with EVERYTHING including your breakfast omelette while the little sparrow gives us another rendition of Je ne Regret Rien followed by La Vie en Rose. The mostly Hispanic staff are friendly and welcoming but no one speaks a word of French except when they mispronounce or do not understand the numerous French words on a menue that could have been written by Charles Boyer (who?). Yesterday was the perfect weather to enjoy a meal on the patio. Food was excellent, service was exceptional and the staff friendly! We started with champagne as we reviewed the menu. This was not my 1st time here but I wanted to try something different. Victoria offered some great recommendations! As we waited on your food, we enjoyed the bread and butter basket. The butter was creamy and perfectly salted. I would purchase the butter to go if that were an option. It's so good. For my main course, I got the mussels which came with fries. The mussels were cooked in a light but flavorful white wine broth. Letting the bread soak up the broth is the perfect way to savor the wonderful flavors of this dish. Ended the evening with the crème brûlée. I'm not normally a fan of crème brûlée but this totally has me reconsidering my choices. The crunch from the caramelized sugar and the notes of vanilla from the custard - chef's kiss! Other items from the menu that I would recommend, the branzino, mashed potatoes and the baker's basket.
