Stopped in on a Saturday and were lucky to find free street parking right across the street. There was a line when we arrived, which shows how popular this place is, but service moved efficiently and didn't feel slow at all. We came for the sweet treats, but they have so much more to offer. I ordered the mango blueberry cheesecake and a cortado. The cheesecake was pretty solid, and the cortado was decent as well but nothing special. My husband ordered the raspberry chocolate cake and enjoyed it, although we both felt it was a bit too sweet because of the fudge layer, which was a little overwhelming for our taste. The café itself is spacious and made for a nice spot to sit, relax, and enjoy dessert for a while. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would definitely come back to try more of their delicious treats.

Large cafe right off of Grand Ave. There is street parking available and paid parking at a nearby ramp. The bathroom requires a code to enter but you can get the code at the register when you pay. If you are only getting cakes and coffee you can order from a separate register on one side of the cafe. You can order cakes by the slice or whole. The tres leches cake is phenomenal -- it's super moist and creamy, while still being pretty light. There is plenty of seating over on this side of the cafe. Their chocolate cake is moist and so rich. Their espresso is fantastic. On the other side of the cafe is food served cafeteria style. You grab a tray and go down the line. You can order a salad sampler and get smaller portions of 2-3 salads for the same price as one salad. The portions are extremely generous. Salad comes with a bread roll, and the focaccia cheese one is great! The caesar pasta salad was on the blander side, but I really enjoyed the crisp fresh veggies in the peanut vegetables salad. There isn't as much seating available on this side of the cafe.

These cakes were delicious. Full of flavor and moist. Ordered ahead to easy to pick up. Service was nice and the bakery was cute. Definitely recommend will have to go back for cafe items.

Most people know and love the classic @cafelattemn in St.Paul on Grand and Victoria. They have so many good options that they have a rotating schedule of cakes day to day. So if you're looking for a specific treat make sure to check their schedule on the website and plan accordingly! https://www.cafelatte.com/desserts Along with the dessert options they have great pizzas with fresh toppings in the back side of the restaurant and cafe sandwiches, salads and soups up front. This place is always hopping but lines move fast so don't let that steer you away. My hands down favorite treat myself picks from here are usually available on Fridays: Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake (I am NOT into fruity things but this cake is the exception. The crust has almond flavor, the flavors of white chocolate bits and whipped raspberry all together are perfect) Deep Chocolate Flourless Cake (Rich, dense, smooth, chocolately goodness topped with ganache. Really does the trick when needing a chocolate fix) Their Tres Leche cakes are also a major staple to check out. Life is short, treat yourself just because. Do yourself a favor and try those two recommendations. For more awesome food spots check out the account mallorymademetryitmn on Instagram!

Vanilla tres leche is a crowd favorite but salted caramel tres leche is up there. A 10 inch cake is around $60, the only size the caramel tres leche comes in. Street parking is available but not ample. There's a paid parking lot across the street next to their bread and chocolate building.

Look what I got for my birthday. This is my family's favorite cake place and our main go to. I always get this chocolate buttercream slice. The lemon torte and the tarts are the next in line. I recently tried the classic cheesecake and that was just as delicious. So many options so satisfy every taste; chocolate, sour/tart and fruity. They also have main food options. Albuquerque chicken soup - yum. Spread sampler with green olive tapenade - yum. Lastly, they have salads and sandwiches also. You won't be disappointed.

Cafe latte is still my go-to spot for cakes. Nothing beats their tres leches cupcakes! It's easy to preorder a cake for pickup and service is usually great.

Stopped in for lunch and love how quick the service was. Food was delicious. Plenty of seating room. Only con is parking, it can be a hassle especially during lunch.

The space is shared by multiple other businesses but this is where the line starts for cafe latte

Street parking for the most part besides a paid parking ramp across the street. Clean location with plenty of space to sit upstairs. Went during lunch hour and the place was hopping but kudos to the staff members to keep the line moving so fast while being attentive and very hospitable. Had the smoked turkey on wheat bread, bag of chips & a fountain drink. Came out to be $15. The sandwich was ok, nothing to brag about. A great place if you are wanting a quick bite!

My wedding party and I stopped here in between dress shopping stops and it was a hit! Cafe Latte is always a good idea but especially with a group in a bit of a time crunch. Everyone can get what they want and split a dessert at that. We arrived a little before noon and that was perfect timing, there was a line after we left. Our table was promptly cleaned and the staff were very helpful with questions about the menu. Will be back!

40 years and still going strong -no surprise. They have a "to go" only section which I believe was part of an expansion a few years back before I left the Twin Cities. Deep Chocolate Flourless (very similar to what I remember as Michael's Fudge) and Toll house Torte-a favorite that happened to be available during my visit on the same day-what great luck to have the Toll house as this one is on rotation. I also saw the Turtle Cake was still around as well German Chocolate cake-two that don't disappoint. They have salads, sandwiches and of course coffee but it has always been about the dessert for me. Service has always been engaged and friendly. If in St. Paul, make this stop for their amazing and endless dessert options.

Honestly I have been here for the past 8-9 years including during the pandemic so I don't know why I have not given it a review yet, but suffice it to say that for someone like me who doesn't even really eat cake, I will come here specifically for cake. That's how good they are. Before and after the pandemic, their cake quality has stayed consistent. They also publish on their website what cakes they have everyday in addition to the 9 types that are available everyday, so that those that really enjoy a special item can plan ahead. I took photos of some of the items that I have traditionally ordered the most, both before and after the pandemic, but I would also recommend the classic vanilla cheesecake and the turtle cake, which are not pictured. In addition to cake, their hot food is also pretty good, with various options of soup and bread available for a reasonable price and pizzas baked fresh next door near the register where one would order or pick up whole cakes. Prices have increased over the years and for some reason the pizza doesn't taste as fresh (both the basil and the mozzarella), and looks a bit smaller, which might be my illusion. That doesn't change the fact that this establishment is worth a 5 in my book, though. Whenever I have friends visiting from out of town and wants to try cake, this would be the first place I bring them to.

Ask the Community - Cafe Latte

Do they still have the spread sampler, I don't see it listed on their website?

We have been there several times since the restrictions have lifted. Neither my husband or myself remember seeing the spread sampler. They still have the salad sampler-2 or 3 choices. You could call and ask, though.

    Do they make egg-less cakes?

    Do they provide WiFi?

    No wifi!

    Can you take items to-go?

Yes! They have to-go container upon request. There's also a separate, quicker line for ordering takeout. (It's around the corner).

Do they deliver? If not can anyone tell me a place close that does?

I believe they do through bitesquad but if you are far from their St Paul location they won't.

    Is this good for brunch?

I guess it depends on what you like to eat at brunch. I personally have been there just about all times of the day and have never been disappointed.

    How is the carrot cake?

It is just okay. I had better carrot cakes. If you're at Cafe Latte, I'd recommend the tres leches.

We tried it, but it didn't taste like nothing so we asked them if they had any other sauce that we could put on it and they said there was none so we unfortunately had to ask for a refund. We offered to return it, but they said it was ours so we took it home and it's still in the fridge days later untouched. * Bebe zito - had olive oil & another ice cream - very good and creamy

I was drawn in by the ambience of the place. It was very cute and urban, practically begging me to sit down. It's an order and pay first style, which took me so long, because everything on the menu looked so good! Due to a bit of confusion, we ended up changing our order multiple times, but our server calmly helped us through each step. I'd like to also take a moment to appreciate that they use no plastic in dishes and boxes too! It's so environmentally friendly! Although it's just slightly on the pricier side, I'd say it's pretty great for a completely plant-based restaurant. My family and I ordered a mac and cheese, Crunchwrap (with fries), chili, a bowl, buffalo cauliflower wings and a cookies and cream milkshake. The buffalo wings came first and they were amazing! They were perfectly sour and a bit of spicy. That really hit the spot! To cool my mouth down, I drank a bit of my milkshake, and I could not stop! The oat milk was so rich and creamy, giving it the perfect flavor and texture. The Crunchwrap had "meat" inside it that was so real I actually got scared! It was such an authentic taste. The chili came with vegan sour cream, and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you it was some of the best sour cream I've ever had! It also came with jalapeños which paired perfectly with the warm chili. Finally, the bowl was irresistible. It had crispy tofu on top that made my mouth water. After devouring my meal I ended with crispy French fries that crunched with every bite. One of the best meals I've ever had! Overall, I totally recommend this place no matter what diet you follow!
