Compared to pictures a year ago, where the portions looked much much larger. They are so stingy on the amount of chicken, that I thought they were giving us a sample to try before they make a real batch lmaooooo. I tried the Kocochi milk tea with creme brulee, boba, jelly, etc. Sounds good on paper, inflation I get it, was expecting $7 but it was $8, plus tax, so it is actually not that competitive of a price anymore now that I think about it. I could get a very good quality boba drink for $7.50+tax elsewhere without all the fancy toppings, but with boba included. I was pretty disappointed with the quality. The boba is so overcooked that it is mushy, and the creme brulee was not thick enough that I have to use a spoon to even be able to get any of it out (instead of being able to drink it from the other side which is what it is supposed to be). I'd avoid this place unless this is a one off but I will need to be redeemed a better experience before recommending this place. There are better options in the area

The place is cute and well decorated with a good amount of seating. We got the Oreo croffle which was so delicious. My toddler absolutely loved it and kept wanting more. I highly recommend getting one. Only complaint is it was extremely warm inside so it wasn't very comfortable sitting there. Hopefully it will be more comfortable next time.

We chose to come for dessert around seven pm and the cafe was packed. The variety of cheesecakes and other desserts to choose from was an adventure in and of itself! Everything looks delicious. Even the regular einspanner was well balanced and delightful to try. We ordered the sampler to try more cheesecake and definitely found our favorite in the Biscoff cookie flavored cheesecake! I did not realize that One Bite Cafe took over the former Great Harvest Bread. I had checked out One Bite Cafe before in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood out of curiosity regarding croffles, but it didn't not leave a lasting impression at the time (open since 2019, with that visit in July 2022). However, when The College Friend set up a meet up at the Lake Forest Park site yesterday (open since May 2022, this visit on 4/9/26). There is an interior entry from the two level retail area and an exterior entry adjacent to the big shared parking lot. It took me a few tries until I found a spot. I was kindly greeted upon entry while the counter person was assisting the customer ahead of me. I ordered and paid directly on the convenient touch screen kiosk located to the left of the main register. I liked the interior transformation. Lots of onsite seating configurations and pleasant decor. Overhead music played the Beatles, which was a pleasant surprise. The wrap around pastry cases with well placed menu placards showed the variety of menu offerings. There's a wide variety of bevs, sweet and savory pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and even gluten free items from NuFlours. I ordered a 22oz iced classic milk tea with 75% sweetness and no toppings, plus some Korean sausage bread. The College Friend decided on a toasted Reuben with chips. We also shared a Portuguese egg tart. We were onsite for three hours. I noticed a constant stream of customers who also dined onsite, as well as, folks getting items to go. I appreciated observing the consistent pleasant and helpful counter staff, all with welcoming smiles! I learned that One Bite Cafe has grown to four sites: Seattle/Roosevelt, Lake Forest Park, Woodinville, and Federal Way. That's great to see ongoing success for this local, indie cafe chain. Lake Forest Park Town Center is lucky to have a variety of cafe, bar, and restaurant destinations. One Bite Cafe gets a collective 5 star for this first time visit.

They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. Can't wait to come back to try their other food and bev options!

Tempting pastry case with savory and sweet choices, the usual bevs, as well as, cocktails. Vibrant place to visit solo or meetups with others. The 16oz iced mokka (mocha) I had was well crafted. Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. They've been an indie (Cafe Hagen/Freya) that has expanded to many locations: here in SLU, two on Queen Anne, downtown on 5th, at Dexter, the Waterfront, Freya in Pike Place Market and Nordic Museum in Ballard, plus sites over in Bellevue and Kirkland. Large space, lots of chatter, and friendly service. Number Three Combo Club - we wanted waffles this time but also bacon and sausage. This was the variety pack we desired, though wish it came with both sausage and bacon! Opted for the bacon and it was thick, fatty, and delicious. One waffle cut into the four quadrants, ready to soak up syrup. Simple, but a classic. Chunky Monkey Pancakes - goofy perhaps, but another timeless classic combo of chocolate and bananas. Three chocolate chip pancakes, fluffy and ready to absorb the Nutella drizzle. Could have a few more chocolate chips embedded for a more balanced spread, but the chocolate drizzle helps spread flavor. Bananas for the healthy balance of course.

Hot Dogs in Cars, and Managers Named "Robert" : A Hate Story…read more I have been a regular patron of The Rusty Pelican since I moved to Washington, just shy of 5 years ago. I take visiting loved ones and friends here, and I constantly extol the service and food to anyone who needs a recommendation for a breakfast spot in Edmonds. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. The manager, Robert, showed sickening behavior. My partner and I were having breakfast out in front, when we noticed that a fellow patron had left their dog in the car on the sidewalk in front of our table. It was 60 degrees out, and completely sunny. The windows were barely cracked, and the dog was panting and straining its neck towards the venting of the window. We called our waiter over, who was incredibly sympathetic and horrified. He went inside to find the customer. We waited a few minutes longer, and then asked a second server to follow up (they were equally horrified and sympathetic). The second server also did not return. My partner went inside to seek help. It was at this point that they encountered Robert. My partner came out a few minutes later and explained what was happening: he had been in the process of denigrating the employees feelings about the matter, telling them to stop bothering customers and (essentially) quit acting like babies. "This isn't Arizona!" he exclaimed. When my partner asked to speak with him and tell him the situation, he was horrendously rude and confrontational, escalating each polite rebuttal with an agitating escalation of rudeness and denigration. My partner calmly explained that in these conditions, a car's interior temperature can rise to above 80 degrees in well under 30 minutes, not including stifling humidity. These conditions can cause an animal to pass out and die within a similar timeframe. At this point, it had been well over 30 minutes since the patron had parked. During all of this, he refused to even address my partner or look them in the eyes. It was absolutely unacceptable, and ultimately embarrassing for a grown man in a PAID CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED POSITION to treat anyone like that. To be clear: the entire staff were incredible. They came out to check on the dog a few times, and tried their best to confront the owner of the dog, but a certain manager was preventing them. They also apologized profusely, and showed a grace that is exemplary and frequently unseen in today's world. We learned several good lessons today: 1. We should have just called animal control right off the bat. The owner isn't going to learn their lesson without legal intervention, or lethal endings. Thankfully they left after about 40 minutes, and the dog seemed to be conscious. 2. I am never going to eat here again, as long as Robert is employed. He should be left in a hot car out front to teach him some perspective. I wouldn't call animal control for him though. 3. I am going to spend the rest of my days around Edmonds telling anyone who will listen this story. To Robert, if you read this: I hope nothing but bad things happen to you forever, and your behavior is inexcusable. You do not deserve to be employed. To anyone above Robert in a position of management or ownership: fire him. Quickly, and unceremoniously. Do it in front of the kind employees, as a treat. They had a familiar air of exasperation with Robert's behavior, telling me this is normal. And under no circumstances should it ever be. Shame on you Robert.

I dont typically go to wine bars or similar for conversation, as that is lacking, but herein, my date and I had a great conversation about Geology, science, LOVE, DEATH, the deepest pursuits of the soul, as well as diving into the meaning of life and existence. Some of those may or may not be true, but the gist is that they could all have been true The owners make the effort to connect. The Seattle freeze doesnt live here it seems. I can appreciate a fine conversation over an excellent glass of sparkling as much as the next guy, and here you will definitely get it. If you try. Vibe check is spot on. The Venue. Charming. Can we say that again. VERY C H A R M I N G indeed. Open spaces. Room to spread out. Quiet and calm and inviting with indoor AND outdoor spaces. The neighborhood makes it easy to get to and even easier to park at.... which is a MAJOR win. Selection. Wonderful, and the fact that they do the very unique chameleon act of breakfast, lunch-ish, cocktail-ish, and evening change of concept with food and rotating food trucks.. makes we want to come back. This Drumlin update is essentially transitional, jumping from Nov 2022 to Feb 2025 to July 2025…read more(7/20/25). I enjoy stopping by Shoreline's Ridgecrest neighborhood, because of the Crest theater, Ridgecrest Books, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Drumlin is the sister restaurant to the adjacent Ridgecrest Pub which often hosts a wide variety of food trucks. I like how Ridgecrest overall has created a pleasant sense of community. Drumlin first came onto my radar screen because I heard about an Escoffier trained pastry chef working there from another Yelp Elite. I tried a few times to stop by, but the popular baked goods were always sold out. But I did end up having a tasty lunch which I wrote up in my previous review from 11/13/22. This pastry chef has since then moved on. Drumlin then returned onto my radar screen because I heard of about a revamp of their beverage and culinary program. I was able to spontaneously stop by, snag a two top and really enjoyed my first 2025 visit back on February 19th. I savored my spinach salad, casio e pepe risotto, and Running Up That Hill cocktail. It was a bit spendy since I had just started a new job. However, I appreciated the quality and its location close to home. It was nice to see positive write ups in Seattle Magazine and The Stranger, giving positive props to this Shoreline destination. Then I heard that Drumlin went into full cafe mode with daily business hours 7am to 1pm. Menu focuses on beverages, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches/wraps for the time being. Interesting pivot, but not fully using their awesome multi-purpose space. They have outdoor seating, a full bar, a stage, many two tops against a banquette, street parking, and a dedicated private parking lot. Oh well, I'm sure there is a story behind that and why dinner service has been suspended. Anyways, subsequent visits happened all within a week on July 12th, 13th, and 20th. The first two visits were around 11 am, today's visit was at 745 am. The visits were all onsite for one hour, 90 minutes, and five hours, respectively. Absolutely chill vibe being onsite. Often the challenge visiting indie cafes, there's never enough seating, too crowded, the sea of laptops, ad naseum. I enjoy seeing solos, pairs, groups, and families stopping in whether to stay awhile or as takeout. I've enjoyed collectively to date: 3 - 16oz iced mochas, 1 chocolate chip cookie, one peach gingerbread cake slice, and two Morning Glory muffins. Today's muffin was especially awesome, still warm from the oven, love the overall moist crumb, and especially the pepitas for texture. This going to be a hard situation because I enjoy Cafe Aroma located diagonal from Drumlin, but I definitely favor the fresh onsite scratch pastries here. There's also some featured baked goods from Kaffeeklatch, located in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. I've contributed two posts and 40 photos over five visits. Hopefully this provided a comprehensive view of my experience at Drumlin. I've been a Shoreline resident for over 23 years, I'm always rooting for hometown businesses to succeed as they evolve, remain vibrant, and viable.

Ladro has lots of fans and it's easy to see why, even if the smaller mom-and-pop places get higher rates around here. Ladro deserves credit for doing everything right. This is an older strip mall, probably built around the time that phrase was coined. Wide variety of businesses, wonky shapes and angles in the parking lot. Inside, there's the big coffee bar on one side, and tables and chairs over there. They have some merch for sale, including plenty of choices among their own house-roasted beans. Lots of blends, and even a few interesting-looking single-origin bags, too. Not any cheaper than the big premium roasters charge. I'd have to try some of the beans before I could say if that seems justified, but I bet it might be. You can order ahead, but not only did I choose to order manually, I went inside and looked the poor kids in the eye. They all seemed to enjoy each others' company, and their nice work environment translates into a nice ambiance for relaxing with a cup. I ordered chai lattes to go, and they were boiling hot and tasted like they were from a tea bag (not the sugar-bomb concentrate that some places use). I also had a brown butter scone that was great even at room temp. They didn't get overly chatty making the drinks, but they were definitely friendly, and everything was ready quickly. Nice kid clocking off for the day even held the door for me as we went out, given that my hands were full. Honestly, if you didn't know this was a chain (albeit a small, local one), you'd think this place existed simply to caffeinate locals in the neighborhood. Everything about it has that nice neighborly, next-door vibe. They don't have anything quirky about them, really, and that huge pastry case is definitely not filled by on-site bakeries at every location. But it all still FEELS like a friendly spot down the street from home. 2 coffees and a scone were about $20 before tip. Could be better, could be worse. I'd definitely come back.
