Friends and I came here to hangout and have some drinks to sip on after having dinner at Mansoo's KBBQ. We really enjoyed this place. The ambiance was relaxing and it was nice to just hang out and talk. The prices here were a little bit on the high end side, I mean $7 for a hot chocolate... (really?). I recently went in with a couple of friends to try their bingsoo (shaved ice). My friend and I thought it was mediocre. The ice melted too fast and it didn't have much flavor. The only nice thing were the fresh fruits on top. Other than that, it does not live up to Sul and Beans or Okrumong. The concept of the place was nice. Nice high ceilings and comfortable, vibrant lights. The staff was attentive, too. I've been here a couple times and every time, the service is amazing! Outlets are limited, but the service, ambiance, and drinks are good. I LOVED the cheesecake. My friends and I got Uncle Tetsu after because we craved cheesecake and it did not compare to the one here. I tried the dalgona latte and pineapple smoothie, but loved the refreshing pineapple smoothie more. There is only one bathroom so if it's busy with a wait, good luck. I got the charcoal latte with almond milk - one of their specialities. it was sweeter than your average latte (maybe people who prefer more savory won't like this) and I enjoyed it. Cafe loft is a cute korean style cafe with a parking lot adjacent to it and the ambience is fantastic - not loud at all. It's pretty quiet despite being a corner cafe. The service was good, the employees were kind and the seating was ample and comfortable. Great place to get work done or catch up with friends. I gave it five stars because they have interesting coffee / latte flavors that you won't find elsewhere, like their charcoal or dalgona latte, and because of everything else I mentioned above. They also have pastries and dessert waffles too, and small bites like sandwiches. Our server was nice and very helpful. Their cakes are just ok, but their drinks are really good! Me and my friends ordered and shared the Green Tea with Red Bean Shaved Ice ($9.50) and a slice of Chocolate Strawberry Cake ($8.25). I love the shaved ice because they give lots of fresh and sweet fruits on top. For my drink, I ordered the Iced Citron Tea (slush)($5.75) which was very refreshing and had a hint of citrus. If you are looking for a quiet, calm place to work or study, come here. Most people are working solo, so it is very quiet - almost like a library type atmosphere. The service here is quick, and the people working here are very nice!! Their Korean coffee is delicious. Inside, the lighting is dim. Outside, the patio is bright. They are open late compared to the area, they have indoor and outdoor seating (not A LOT though), I've tried so many of their drinks and only have praise (I haven't tried their food), and I just like the whole feel of the place. Moody lighting, opulent and plushy seating, a friggn spinning disco ball that lights up the cafe when it starts to get dark outside. And there's other stuff around you too! As someone who studies literally all the time, I can list out all the pros and cons for you fellow nerds :) pros - free parking - free wifi - comfortable seats - soft/mellow music (although they tend to repeat what they play...) - quiet crowd - extensive drink menu (including sandwiches and really good cakes) - fast service cons - not many outlets - during the summer, it can get hot (esp upstairs) - dim lighting I took out one star because these cons are fairly significant drawbacks for me personally. The Loft is my go to spot to study. There is free parking and in KTown, this is hard to come by. Get here early for a spot because it does fill up! The high ceilings, wall long mirrors, checkered floors, and soft velvet couches are absolutely stunning. There is no other coffee shop that I've visited in LA with such classy decor. It makes studying more fun and enjoyable. I always get a hot white chocolate mocha or a green tea latte with a slice of cake. The mocha can be a little too sweet as many have complained about, but I have a bigger sweet tooth than most. The latte is always on point, both iced or hot. The cakes are very moist and go perfectly with a cup of coffee. A cup of coffee would cost around $6 or $7, which is on the pricier side but worth it. For those who decide to study here, the price of a cup of coffee is nothing compared to the time you spend here. The lighting is somewhat dim, but there is fast free wifi. There is also an outdoor patio and a second floor, so there is ample space!! The downside is that it is hard to find a spot near an outlet, so make sure your gadgets are fully charged before coming here! read more

A HUGE plus is that they have their own private parking lot (which is difficult to find in Koreatown). Loft Cafe is a good space and I like things about it. It's not a bad study area, but I'm over it after a couple of hours. They have limited power outlets, so if you have your laptop or other devices you might want to stay downstairs to charge and for the best lighting. They have a patio, which I hadn't had a chance to sit at yet. They have tall ceilings and they have an upstairs and it's a nice overview of the area. The Wi-Fi password is on the menu. Their desserts come from bakeries I like such as Sweet Lady Jane (chocolate strawberry, triple berry, red velvet, 7 layer mocha), Susina Bakery (tiramisu), and the Cheesecake Factory. The Chocolate Strawberry was very rich and delicious and I realized it would've been better if I shared it instead of having it all to myself. So they have an excellent assortment of cakes from favourite bakeries of mine so that's a plus. They also have sandwiches that I haven't tried. The drinks are okay priced at $4.50 to $8.00. The first time I went I had the Green Tea Latte and this last time I had an Almond Latte. I think they were alright. There are other Korean cafes in the area and Loft Care isn't my favorite as far as drinks and I'm not saying it's bad because it's still alright. I think it's a good venue to study at, chat with friends over coffee or tea, have dessert with your date, etc. As far as a study spot, it's alright. They don't have too many outlets and it's pretty much downstairs in a few areas towards the wall and you can't count on any upstairs and it is fairly dim up there anyhow, though that's still a good spot to be. I think it's good to study for a good period of time, but I don't feel like I can study at the Loft Cafe for more than a couple of hours. It's best to study in the daytime when it is quieter, mellow, and there is less people around and other people studying. At night I'm sure it's something else and I'd enjoy that, too, if it wasn't for the studying. I'd still go here to study because I rotate cafes. read more

I'm not a big green tea fan but what is it about a green tea latte that is so awesome?! Could it be that I'm drinking it when it's cold out? Or that it has the right amount of sugar and not too much of it so I still feel healthy? Either way, I'm loving the frothy, and hot green tea latte that I'm enjoying right now. They serve Sweet lady Jane and Susina cake here. Regular drip hot/iced coffees get a free refill. Not sure if you can get more than 1 refill. By late night some cakes might be sold out so be aware. Their slices are smaller than at the actual bakeries but still shareable between 2 ppl. Cost is about $7 a slice. The place is small and intimate but very manageable. No bells on the table upstairs but the servers are always around. It's a much better place/convenient to have your slice of cake here than at their own bakeries. Free parking on 6th street next to the ShinBu bridal shop in a small lot that is marked properly. read more

Who said Ktown is all about drinking and partying? I am totally in love with all the coffee houses hidden in Ktown. There's 3 parts to LOFT CAFE: 1. Indoor (1st Floor): Best if you want to study or keep refreshing your facebook page for the newest updates. 2. Indoor (2nd Floor): Great spot to chill if you are with a small group of people. 3. Outdoor Patio: Best for larger parties so that you can laugh and make stupid jokes without disturbing other patrons. I sat indoor on the 1st floor with my girlfriend and couldn't help joking that I felt like I was in a library because everyone was sitting there with their laptop. However, I couldn't help but think that this is a nice romantic coffee shop that is perfect for a date. Saw that many people highly recommended their desserts, but I wasn't hungry. So I just got myself a cup of coffee. Yea Yea... It's expensive... But what's new? Like I have said before, $5-6 for a drink is a standard here in this area. One of the few cafes in Koreatown with their own private parking lot which is free and no valet. This is one of the reasons why I come here. Decent interior and decent drinks and service, its not bad. They have many different selections of cake pieces (Susina Bakery) and Cheesecake Factory. Most are priced $7-$8 each piece. Its a lot larger than what you have seen at other cafes. Drinks are just OK. I ordered milk tea once and the cup was cone-shaped and had so much ice in it. I took like 2-3 sips and it was already gone. WTH? Their tomato juice was better than the milk tea but again, I had better. In fact, Mr. Coffee has best tomato juice. Nice place to study or talk with your friends. Its not very loud in here so its nice. They also have seats outside in the back as well as upstairs. Their restroom is shared with both sexes and it is pretty clean. All in all, decent cafe. Blended caramel mocha was too sweet. Blended powder of roast grain was better than the bitter hot English breakfast tea ($5.75?). Full from ice cream/KBBQ, we didn't try any cake. Good place to thaw from the evening chill. I liked the pillows upstairs. If you want black tea try Assam or Darjeeling instead. My drink had over-steeped. My friend had to keep adding half and half + simple syrup to his iced coffee. Lighting would keep dimming. Parking was at the Han's lot on the same block. Someone downstairs sat by themselves with their laptop the whole time I was there. The music was fine. There's a screen downstairs tuned to the news. There is also one unisex restroom. They sell cakes from Sweet Lady Jane for about $7/slice. We went around 4-5pm, so maybe that's why the cake was a bit hard. Had the mocha chocolate cake which was way too sweet for my taste, although we were warned by the waiter that it was the sweetest cake they had! $7 cakes & $5 lattes. But at night, the patio is really nice even they turn on the lights. Their hazelnut coffee smells wonderful and bitter, so you'll need to adjust the flavor on your own. The Vienna coffee was ok too. The sweet potato coffee was, well, interesting. As for their sweets, they get it elsewhere and sell it in their store. And I didn't think it was good.
