I like this cafe because it is conducive for studying as it has a calm and quiet vibe. They also have good coffee. However, you need to come with your laptop fully charged and have eaten. There are barely any outlets which is frustrating, and the food selection is very limited. If you have a long day of studying planned, this is not the place to go to. However, if you plan on having a quick study session and/or a meeting then this place works. Most of the staff are nice, but there's a young guy who works there, who always looks miserable and who is not that friendly. The other staff will greet and say goodbye to certain customers...I will leave that there. Lastly, the place needs better lighting, especially at night. If I were a talented painter, like Van Gogh, I would take this store and make it my art studio. The exposed wooden beams, the high ceiling, the open loft. It is at the corner of the unexpected, brewing coffee and baking desserts. Big slides of mirrors hanging across from each other, by the old vintage piano, reading a book or writing a paper has a hint of romance to it. The coffee is decently picked, and pricer than your average Starbucks. But patrons did not mind the mark ups. It is for the relaxing ambiance they are stopping by. They have 3 different seating areas. Outdoor, rooftop, and inside of the first floor. All three seating areas are good. But I don't recommend seating upstairs when it's hot outside. It gets super hot without AC. Last time I went, the cake was very dry and they were only able to make 3 hazelnut coffees when five of my other friends also ordered the hazelnut coffee. Loft Cafe is an okay cafe in ktown. I've only been here at night so I'm not sure what the vibe is like during the day, but there's usually plenty of seats at night. It's also pretty quiet so you'll see a lot of people studying or working on their laptops! I think they're open until midnight or 1am. Overpriced drinks, but understandable since people that come here to study never leave. They have a variety of teas too and it comes in a pot. Loft also sells Sweet Lady Jane cakes, although I personally wouldn't eat it here. My favorite thing about Loft Cafe is the free and easy parking. You can park in the lot next door for FREE! I hate wasting $2-3 for valet parking when you're just getting some tea/coffee. I'm not a big fan of Loft, but will occasionally come here for the convenience/free parking. read more

What a great café, it definitely had an amazing setting. The loft feel is good and there is so much old school decor that it keeps you distracted. They have a cute disco ball in the ceiling. What I love most about this place is that it has very comfortable seating and that they serve the coffee and deserts exactly like a restaurant and no one really does that. I find it very unique. Menu was in fact small, but they did have great options, I couldn't decide on what I wanted. So I go with my old school choice and got the mocha ice blended, it was so good that I ordered 2. My friend got a Vienna coffee that had vanilla ice cream inside, and a piece of cheesecake. Cheesecake was good, I had a couple bites. Then another friend of mine got a hot chocolate, I didn't try it, but it was very delicious. The only thing that was an issue is that towards the evening of being inside it got hotter and hotter inside, they had a fan upstairs but no one turned it on. You would think so right? It was stuffy at one point. When we got downstairs I noticed it was cooler, they also had a fan down in the main seating area. If they had an a/c for sure this would be a perfect café. read more

Wow wow wow ... my review is super long overdue. I cannot believe I didn't write a review for them. You know cafe loft is dear to my heart and it has become my second home while I was studying in nursing school. I like to say I abused the place quite a bit from start to finish lol. I'm just surprised that they never kicked me out lol. They're one of the reasons why I passed my schoool and passed my nursing boards made me who I am. Yes, this is a big statement rofl. Over the years, I got close to the cafe owners and their family, I mean I lived there lol. I always got their salad, sandwiches, drinks ... I mean you name it. Their food is on an expensive side but I didn't want to waste my time going somewhere else and come back to cafe loft. My thought was, I could literally study two more pages during this time. I always loved their sandwiches with the pickles on the side ! You gotta try their milk teas, green tea lattes ! Theyre just perfect to my taste ! The cakes were my delight at all times ! We come here on multiple occasions because the atmosphere is very nice. The drinks and cakes are fairly priced. Cakes are on the heavy side though, and not really on the light side like the other Korean bakery cakes. I'd say this is a great place to end a date night on. Once you come in, come near the bar and she'll seat you (yoy can pick the table) with a menu. Wifi password is at the end of the menu. I got the 7 Layer Mocha $7.25 with Iced Rose Tea $5.95. The 7 Layer cake - looks delicious, but was dried inside. The mocha was really good and sweet, but the cake part was gross. I ended up finishing just the inside and leaving its chocolate outer shell alone. Be a waste to not finish some of it. Don't recommend this. As for the drink... The rose tea needs to be steeped a lil more. Tasted like water until I swallowed and really got the rose flavor taste. It was cool and refreshing to wash down the 7 Layer Mocha cake - pricey!!! Topped with two rosebuds for an adorable presentation. Strong wifi here. Ambience - dark, romantic, mysterious. Perfect place to study, hangout with friends or chill and relax by yourself. They also have an upstairs that you can birdwatch people downstairs or wish for further privacy. Private parking lot and street parking as well. Other than a quiet study space (with free wifi), there's nothing special about this place that I can really commend. My friend and I decided to come because she likes to study in cafes and Loft café is open until late. I got the peach tea (non-caffeinated) and my friend got a sweet ginger tea drink. Both of our drinks were about $8...ridiculous! At least my peach tea had unlimited hot water refills...but my friend's drink didn't and it was tiny! We didn't get the food here cause we just ate before coming, but looking at the prices, I don't think I would get anything either way because everything here is so pricey. Overall, if you're not the type of person who HAS to study in cafes, just save the $10 and study elsewhere. There is a parking lot available but a lot of the spaces are assigned for certain shops and the ones for loft café were all taken when we went (around 9pm). Koreans love cutesy Italian coffee and espresso houses; case in point, the multitude of coffee houses you find in Ktown. I find many of these places to be overpriced and lacking in flavor or authenticity. Let's just make an assumption that people come here more for the cutesy ambience and atmosphere. We got the white chocolate mocha (cold), an espresso, and a chocolate strawberry cake. They're not bad, taste fine, but the prices they charge is outrageous. The chocolate strawberry cake is really good and moist; this I wouldn't mind getting again. The espresso was typical, you can't really screw up an espresso. Friend said the white chocolate mocha was "fine." Service here is extremely slow. I had to walk up to the front counter to get the menu and it took almost 20 minutes for us to get our drinks. Overall, a nice place to grab coffee and make conversation after a meal or for a casual date. As for parking, small lot with a few spots designated for Loft Cafe customers. It was my first time here today, after we ate at Gatten Sushi right across the street. LOFT doesn't have full meals only coffees and desserts. Our first impression: it's so quiet! My family is naturally loud so we felt a little embarrassed talking so loud amongst ourselves. Everyone else was on laptops or reading a book. No one was talking, not even couples... We tried the Vienna coffee, which was so unbelievably delicious. I don't even like coffee but the Vienna definitely won me over. This coffee isnt sweet at all but its very rich and once the scent hits your mouth it's just wonderful. The cafe mocha would be great for those who like sweet and creamy coffee. Americano is clean, strong, perfect for coffee lovers. We also tried the butter waffle with fruits and ice cream. It was sooo good! The waffle was crispy and freshly made - it was so good with the strawberries. Just fyi, there is a patio out the back, but no smoking area. And I don't know if it was only this time, but they didnt turn on the AC so it got really really hot, especially after drinking so much coffee. It's places like Loft that make me appreciate residing in K-Town. Whenever I'm in the mood for something light and sweet or quiet and stylish, I end up here. I like that the menu has more coffee, tea and dessert options than actual food options. First time I came here was on a Saturday night. Sat out in the patio with a friend and the hours flew by. I had the Belgian waffle and paired it with a pot of Darjeeling. Their having a Darjeeling blend was kind of impressive to begin with! It's perched on the corner of Oxford and 6th. The place is so very pretty; you enter a two-story cafe with its high ceilings, velvety drapes, romantic wooden decor, artful lighting and a loungey playlist humming in the background. You can sit downstairs where it's spacious, upstairs where it's cozy or outside in the patio where it's romantic. The staff is friendly and accommodating. At first glance, Loft Cafe looks like many of the overpriced Coffee houses that dot K-town...and to a point that's true - I paid close to six bucks for a iced vienna coffee...as good as it was it was still six bucks! But the service is nice and the ambiance is a bit of a cut above most cafes...you feel like you're in a giant cabin of some sort and isolated from the bustling city streets outside. I have to say I JUST found out this place sells Sweet Lady Jane cakes and has a parking lot you can use for free, so my opinion of this place could improve with subsequent visits (which I have a feeling could happen). read more

I finally tried Cafe Loft after driving by it so many times for 6 years. I really liked the ambience! It's very cute, romantic, slightly dim lit, and overall a very nice elegant atmosphere with their high ceilings and strewn white lights. Great for a date or catching up with friends, not so much for studying though there is free wifi. Everything is a little pricey, just like your typical Korean cafe. I got their iced house coffee which was standard. They give you a separate mini pitcher of liquid sugar, and another of half&half so you can add how much you want. They also serve Sweet Lady Jane's triple berry cake here which I love!! I ordered one slice but it didn't taste too fresh. Still pretty good though. What I didn't like was the minimal parking in their lot. The cafe was packed and so was the parking lot. I barely got the last spot after waiting a few minutes. So you might have to find street parking nearby. Service was also superrrr slow. No one came to take our order for about 15-20 minutes. We had to call someone to come. And they don't have that button on the tables here like in most Korean cafes. Our drinks came out fairly quickly though. It just took forever to place an order. read more

LIVE REVIEW It's a fine Saturday night and my husband and I wanted to do something chill and productive. We decided to find a local cafe to write Yelp reviews and ended up at Loft Cafe. The warm ambiance and the faint disco lights made this a welcoming cafe. The lights are dim, but you can easily bring a laptop and study here. They're currently playing some smooth coffee house music like Nora Jones. The music isn't too loud either. I'm really digging this place so far! There were a bunch of empty tables, but this place does not feel empty. We sat down and the waiter quickly gave us the menus. There's a fair amount of things you can order: espresso, coffee, teas, shaved ice, ice cream, cakes, and sandwiches. We settled for the green tea shaved ice w/fresh fruits. The waiter took our order and our shaved ice arrived at 10:57pm. The bowl was a bit smaller than we expected, but it was good. We finished our ice cream and made our second order at 11:17pm. We decided to go on the sweet-train and order the waffle w/ chocolate/strawberry ice cream & fresh fruit (an additional $2). More people just arrived. It's a lot louder now, but it's still a nice place to be at. The waffle arrived at 11:27pm. I wish they didn't give us a butter knife because its actually difficult to cut this waffle.. but I guess it forces me to pace myself? The waffle isn't crispy, but it's still good. The interior is cutesy and service is A-OK. Came here to study but left much quicker than planned because the lights were too dimmed that I struggled reading my textbook. Prices are unreasonably high, and although $8 spent on a slice of strawberry chocolate cake is kind of ridiculous, the cake itself was very good and rich. It gets too sweet after three bites though; I would recommend sharing a slice with at least one other person. My friend's iced milk tea was totally watered down. Worst way to spend $6 :-( My hot jasmine pearl tea was refreshing and I enjoyed it very much. It came in the cutest teapot and teacup which is a plus! Meh.
