    Sweet Potato Cake
    Michelle X.

The interiors of this house turned cafe are something truly special. I personally feel pressured when an establishment has signs everywhere warning that you have to purchase 1 item per person per 3 hours of stay, even if I comfortably meet that requirement. I was glad to see that they have a sweet potato cake because I've experimented with it at home also. But I didn't love theirs: it felt like a sweet potato was roasted, then mashed together with chiffon cake, that mixture was placed into a mold, which made it feel less like a cake and more like a filling. I was confused as to where the cake was.

This place has a classic, elegant atmosphere that's perfect for a nice meal. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and the food was decent--nothing extraordinary, but solid overall. One of the best features is the private dining rooms, which are great for birthdays, family gatherings, or other special occasions. Be sure to reserve a room in advance, and keep in mind that each person is required to order at least one menu item. They also have a café that's open until midnight, which is a nice bonus if you're looking for a late-night dessert or coffee spot in Koreatown. Another big plus is the free parking. Since parking in Koreatown can be expensive, having complimentary parking makes the experience much more convenient. Overall, it's a good choice for groups or special occasions.

Very nice place to relax and unwind.. Strawberry Scone was 3 yum yum out of 5 Coffee tried the Americano. But atmosphere was excellent

The food was amazing! Espresso was also good. The reason why I gave it 2 stars was because the service was not so good. The girl had a stanky attitude when we were asking for anything, set down our plate of food very hard at us. Like woah sorry for coming to your place. Also the place was very much Greek aesthetic but not one Greek food on the menu... sorry that just set me off for a reason. Would I go back? No. Would I go and order a coffee to go? Yes I would.

Really cute cafe! The location had nice dim lighting, open seating both inside and outside and the servers were really sweet. I had ordered their katsu plate and had originally forgot the rice that came with my plate because they were busy, but they were quick to get it out to me when I went to ask. Overall good experience and will definitely return. Highly recommend their Korean coffee.

Its really moody and calm environment, lots of seating both inside and out with nooks to hide in. Staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. I had the earl grey tea pie and it was delicious, that the cream on top paired perfectly with the cake which was moist and rich but not too sweet. The milk tea I got with it complimented it well. Parking was not ideal, I ended up parking around the corner and walking... and that was a Friday afternoon, so keep that in mind when visiting.

Early birthday lunch with dear coworkers. I always like the ambiance, the eclectic decor & the historic feeling building of this cafe. Friendly service & we liked they had the bell on the table since the restaurant was large with certain areas difficult to see with walls. There were a lot of people with their laptops - working, studying, etc. Their food is OK but the sweet potato cake was very good. We come for the atmosphere & the friendly service. This cafe has been around for a while & good location in ktown, with parking, which is another plus. Probably a 3.5 stars rather than 3 or 4 stars.

This place is great for studying and getting work done. They have free parking as well which is unheard of in ktown. Our party reserved a private room to get some work done. It was very quiet and convenient for us. They also have a large selection of drinks and mains you can order. I ended up getting the turkey wrap for $17.99. The wrap itself was good but I wish it came with fries of a salad. Overall a good place to study, do work or grab coffee with a friend

Stopped by here after dinner for dessert and some tea/wine and the vibes were very chill. It was pretty packed with students studying inside since they have nice study areas throughout the cafe. We found a spot outside so as not to disturb the students studying indoors! The service was fine and it didn't take long to get our tiramisu and drinks. Overall, a chill spot for a little treat and drinks.

Cafe Mak is a great spot to go if you need a place to study or get work done. There is a parking lot in the back and they have great customer service. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of seating options. I ordered wings and fries for lunch and they were both good.

Delicious authentic Korean foods--loved the kimchi fried rice and sweet hot Korean-style coffee! The owner, Justine, is humble, friendly, kind, and Esther, Danny, & Soan provided excellent service as well. They truly deserve special recognition. Ideal spot for intense study work, with a clean, relaxing ambiance. Highly recommend. Thank you so much. God bless!

Hi! How much is coast to reserve meeting room?

Not sure if they have changed it, but when I used to have meetings there all the time, there was no fee to reserve it.

    Yes, they have a lot.

Do they allow dogs when sitting outside tables?

I'm planning to study here tomorrow, is it a good idea?

Can you phone in to reserve a table for a group prior your arrival?

Yes, they have a private meeting room, and it's right next to the bathrooms, which is nice.

Can I smoke outside? And, is there WiFi?

There is WiFi. However u do not think there is smoking outside.

I have a small English staff dog that I'm watching is that okay I bring him with me to the cafe? I need to meet up with my classmates and no one can watch him.dog t?

This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service. Given the small size of the shop, takeout is recommended, especially during peak hours. The sandwiches at AAV are so good! Fuggedaboutit!

Order online and have some jump out of the car to pick up your order. There is no seating inside but maybe a chair or two outside. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges so you may want to get that food to go. We tried three sandwiches and they were all huge. The crispy chicken caesar wrap is phenomenal and I am not one who usually orders this particular sandwich anywhere. It comes with a creamy sauce that I might have drank directly from the little cup. The wrap is packed full of chicken and it is refreshing and excellent. It doesn't look huge but trust me, the wrap is packed full and you will be plenty satisfied. The Antonia sandwich comes with turkey, cheese, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli. It isn't all that unique a creation but for what it is, it is very fresh and very good. It came loaded with delicious turkey. The Martha sandwich (chicken salad, apples, fennel, argula, herbs, etc.) is on special right now. Personally, I am not a big chicken salad guy but you get a lot of it and the person in our party who ordered it liked it a lot. We also tried the arancini and they were excellent.
