    Tuna Sashimi Pizza

I am have been coming here since they first opened in 1984 when I lived in Ft Lauderdale. Now I live in West Delray so don't come here very often. It was my birthday and a friend took me here. Also great food, service, and an outstanding wine list. I chose a Hook of Crook Cellars Old Line Zinfandel Reserve 2015 from Lodi. Only $ 35 and a steal. Started with one of their all time favorite appetizers, Tuna Sashimi Pizza, Wasabi cream cheese, sweet soy, caviar, scallion and spicy mayo . Amazing For mains, I opted for the Guava Pink Peppercorn Glazed Grilled Duck Breasts, Chive cream cheese risotto, green beans, demi glace & plantain chips. I substituted fingerling potatoes for the risotto. Well constructed dish with bold flavors. My friend choose the Shirt steak, excellently prepared. For dessert, we had another house favorite, Deep Dish Bourbon & Chocolate Pecan Pie , served with warm chocolate sauce & ice cream. Super and a great finish. For a memorable evening and outstanding food and service, Cafe Maxx is a must.

We came in with no reservations and were seated right away. Five stars for Jan! She is an efficient server that was friendly and attentive. The Tuna Pizza was excellent! The scallops with the mushroom truffle risotto was good. However I didn't taste the truffle, and needed to add salt. The braised beef was tender, however needed more flavor. Possibly needs to cook longer for the flavors to meld together. We have a portion for take home, we suspect tomorrow the flavor will be better. For dessert the butterscotch bread pudding with ice cream and whip cream was excellent. The winner though for the evening was the tuna pizza for sure. We look forward to coming back and trying something else on the menu. There's something for everyone. Valet is out front, as well as metered parking that you use a credit card for. Restrooms were clean which was great to see. We will be back soon! Enjoy!

Everything was soooo delicious! Such an incredible and underrated restaurant - it doesn't have the glamorous ambience of Brickell/Miami Beach, but an iconic establishment since 1984. Chef Oliver Saucy is a culinary expert - the flavors were absolutely incredible and one of the tops restaurants I've eaten at in South Florida! Came here for a work event - we enjoyed the private room in the back. The octopus appetizer was UNREAL. Thinly slice octopus with shallots, capers, olives, arugula and perfectly crunchy crostini. I could eat this every single week. It's 5 star quality and better than typical grilled octopus dishes. The tuna salad pizza was topped with wasabi cream cheese, caviar, spicy mayo and placed on a paper thin and crispy cracker. Such a flavor bomb and perfect texture! They also have an assortment of excellent salads. For main course, I had the grilled chicken and penne pasta with roasted butternut squash, leeks, cippolini onion, pumpkin seed, and feta. It tasted like autumn! Our group also enjoyed the fish, lamb chops, steak, and shrimp scampi dishes. For dessert, the flourless chocolate cake was a hit - super decadent and rich cocoa flavor! Cannot wait to be back!

We think about this establishment on our annual winter drive from Delaware..This may be the best restaurant in an area filled with great eating choices! Do not let an innocuous setting in a strip mall fool you. This is a tablecloth restaurant but very relaxed and not stuffy ( we ate at 5:30pm on a Wednesday).. not sure about weekends but I would assume reservations are a must? The service is impeccable...the meals delicious..you do need to ask for bread though... Their soups are epic!! The menu changes daily and you can see the daily posting on their menu Pricy... so be prepared Btw... they have a robust take out section in the back by the kitchen.

A familiar spot, I've been a sporadic customer for decades, and Café Maxx never disappoints The room is cozy and animated, a pleasant place to be. Our waiter was outstanding, cheerful and efficient ....and I think this was the the best meal that I have ever eaten there. The scallops with my risotto were large, numerous, and most of all, delicious. The rice was beautifully seasoned in a lovely creamy sauce with mushrooms. At first, the dessert menu seemed a bit too familiar, but our simple bread pudding was absolutely scrumptious, the best I have ever eaten I will not wait so long to go back

Cozy closed off local restaurant with a large wine list to choose from...

Nice ambiance seating space for groups or couples. Just the right amount of light and elbow room for othe guest. This is a local resturaunt that makes fresh pasta. The dishes are a bit over priced but nice to enjoy with a date.

After living in Ft . Lauderdale for like 40 years, I'd never been to this well regarded restaurant., before. That was a mistake.... It is marvelous!! Great , comfortable decor, beautiful Bar, with friendly service! Our Sashimi Pizza was so clever, and tasty! The Caesar salad was great, and my Filet was fantastic! Very creative, being served over a bed of Scalloped Potatoes, with a great sauce.... They have an extensive Desert list, and the Crème Brûlée was so creative, and one of the best I've ever had !! Go and enjoy!!

This place is great! I think it remains one of pompanos hidden gems and it never disappoints. It's located in a corner of the plaza where there is plenty of parking. As soon as you walk in there is a bar with some limited seating and then you are taken to the main dining room. The tables are a little close to each other but not uncomfortably close. They don't have any daily specials as their menu changes every day. They have a great split of seafood steak and pasta dishes. They also have a "lighter" menu and you can make substitutions. I had the lighter version of the filet but paired it with the flavorful au gratin potatoes. They also have a huge selection of wines, we didn't order dessert but the table next to us did and they looked amazing!

One of the best restaurants I've eaten in in a long time. Virtually everything we had was soot on. Tuna pizza, firecracker shrimp, caviar pie were all excellent. As were the main courses, Farrow Island, salmon, yellowtail snapper, filet, etc. only Chisolm would be the fillet was a little undercooked. Waiter was great as well.

Is the place warm and is it quiet?

02/01/2024 Was warm, from what I remember, of being there 3 or 4 months ago but that would have been Fall 2023. It gets louder the more crowded it becomes and in the not too distant past a man seated right behind me was constantly loudly blowing…

    Do they have outdoor dining?

Yes. It's not really fancy tho. Just on the corner of the strip mall.

Fast forward to today, and it's a completely different story. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The steaks were massive, juicy, and cooked to perfection, easily some of the best I've had anywhere, and I've paid top dollar at high-end steakhouses. The Hawaiian ribeye, in particular, was incredible, tender & juicy. The wings were huge and packed with flavor, honestly some of the best wings I could ask for. They've also stepped up their starters. The new bread with honey butter is insanely good, and the avocado eggrolls with tamarind sauce are absolutely next level. I added on the crab cake which is of insane quality, big lump pieces, it's actually hard to find breading. Service was just as impressive, attentive, smooth, and genuinely welcoming. I even had the chance to speak with the manager, Dani, who explained they made a major shift away from distributors that were hurting their quality. They went back to basics, focused on what made them great in the first place, and it shows in every bite. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, across any cuisine. J. Mark's is back, and better than ever.

The owners Paulo, Fernando and Stephanie, are ALWAYS on the floor guaranteeing the perfect flow, and the happiness of the customers. To those people that are complaining about the salad bar, that has 30 different options or more, keep in mind that if you want salad the restaurant for you is called Just Salad and its much cheaper too. This place is all about the darn meat and the service. The churrasco masters come to your table NON-STOP. Have you ever been to those chains like Fogo ou Texas, where they come by your table once every 15 mins. WELL THAT IS NOT HOW THEY RUN THIS SHOW, you can barely finish eating the piece you got and there is 2 churrasco masters coming your way, its non stop rodízio. Lastly and the most important the quality of the meat. All other restaurants serve shitty cuts for lunch and prime cuts at night! THIS PLACE DOESNT EVEN CARRY SHITTY CUTS! They serve the prime cut all day, everyday! That should be the business you are aiming to spend your hard earned dollar at. Don't be fooled by the chains or other smaller brazilian steakhouses, here in south florida, no one provide the quality and the service that Pampa Gaucho does.

I made a reservation, and I'm guessing on weekend nights, this is the way to go. From the outside, Pampa Gaucho Churrascaria doesn't look like much, but inside it is quite lovely. Tables have white linens and candles. There is a large, inviting salad bar in the middle of the room with many choices of greens, toppings as well as cheeses, shrimp, eggplant, crab salad and more. There are also some hot bar items: black beans, rice, polenta, large grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, and plantains. There's an option to just have the salad bar. I opted for this. They included salmon and grilled pineapple for me. There was plenty of food and it was all well made. So if you're a vegetarian or pesco-veg, you'll still be well taken care of while your carnivorous table-mates go to town. And that they did. There was filet mignon, flank steaks, sausage, short ribs, chicken, Parmesan encrusted pork, and probably way more. The dining room bursts with activity as servers visit the tables with this wide assortment of mostly rotisserie meats. Desserts are not included, and there are many options on the menu. While I tried to convince the others for the flan, we went with the tres leches. It was fabulous! So try and save a little space for dessert if you can. If you're a meat lover or looking for a fun celebratory meal, this place is for you! The servers were very nice and helpful. We very much enjoyed our evening here.

Not the hostesses fault. The girl with the long braids who was at the seating station never said a word to our party. She grabbed menus and started walking away. We stood in place. When she turned around and and saw that we were still standing there she came back and said I was seating you. We all replied you didn't acknowledge us when we gave you our name you grabbed me us and walked away without saying anything. That was the time to leave. Although our friends waife was hungry and didn't want to leave. This was last night. Saturday June 13th 2026 arrival time 6:50pm, seated at 7:12pm. Drinks ordered at 7:20pm, at 7:30pm went to bar to order Drinks. Bar tender said the waitress will get your order and bring them to the table. What the he'll is that all about! 7:40pm Drinks arrived, I ordered an old fashioned and it was red with no flavor. I saent it back. Wife and friends wife ordered Jack and coke and those came out tasting sweet as if the coke was flat. Friends sprite was fresh. We had to ask twice for water. #3 Our waitress was nice although a ghost most of the night. She would always approach our table apologizing how busy it was. Eventually I said you must be the only waitress working. The other guests didn't seem to have a problem with their orders as we did except a party of 10 or 12 guests. #4 We ordered 3 Longhorns and a ribeye. All cooked to temperature ordered. My friend ate his without a word said. Mine and my friends wife's filet side was good and the strip side was not tender. A little too much seasoning on them also. The house salads were pretty made and kept in a chiller or fridge making the lettuce soggy. That's just not appealing especially at an average restaurant that's a tad overpriced. #5 I wouldn't recommend this restaurants location or any of their locations. It's probably been 15 years since we ate at a Longhorn and last night was the example of why. And the guy who gave 5 stars and said it's better than a $300 steakhouse is probably getting paid to leave 5 stars. Looks at his profile. All his rev6are 5 stars.
